Nextdoor hates white people. Nextdoor hates conservatives. Nextdoor hates Christians. Nextdoor allows and encourages report abuse and brigading allowing leftists to undermine the intent, safety and integrity of the website.
The format of this site compared to Streetlife or the like is truly awful and potentially quite dangerous. I am very aware of the problems that can be caused inadvertently on social media platforms. This setup is very dodgy from so many angles. I deactivated my account the minute I changed over from Streelife and realised how this operated.
There will be no dialogue that is not "kind" on NEXT DOOR - it is the cancel culture policy, if its not nice, its out! I commented on someone condoning committing perjury in court - I was saying that was wrong, and criminal. It goes on and on - but, dare not shame anyone for being malicious, mean spirited, incorrect or illegal. If it's not kind, it gets CANCELLED! I have been permanently deleted for standing up for values and legal comments. One comment I corrected someone, saying something "... was a noun, not a pronoun, you failed grammar."
Apparently being grammatically correct is against the policy to point out as well. SO petty and wrong. CANCEL CULTURE PREVAILS on social media NEXTDOOR! Beware.
Nextdoor has been super helpful especially with lost pets. The site is also helpful in that informaiton on break-ins and suspcious activity is provided. That informatoin helps me be more vigilant to the surroundings.
I've never seen so many helpless and clueless folks as who post on what should be called nextBORE, not nextdoor... I guess the best thing about it is you can figure out which neighbors to avoid altogether.
I like hearing things going on in the neighborhoods - good and bad -- helps us all. I've been helped by neighbors when looking for good contractors or repairmen. Also good help with problems with lawns, critters, with neighbor problems. The only thing I don't like is when neighbors go at each other and get petty, back and forth -- no time for that.
Moderator has sent me harassing direct messages. I'm not the only one she's done it to. So when I complained to next door customer service instead of getting help, my account was blocked.
I am still in shock how a company can completely takeover and then impose it's draconian rules and stipulations for nothing more than profit. Not only does this remove any form of individual control over data but flies in the face of neighbourliness and community.
Currently trying Kahuti.com, who are keen to hear what users actually want.
For anyone who hasn't seen it there is a petition against the https://www.change.org/p/uk-parliament-close-the-uk-door-on-nextdoor-and-remove-the-welcome-mat?recruiter=*******&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink
These messages I shared are after multiple emails with their robot responder... I threatened to call lawyers they finally got someone who sent me this... Still not deleted
Can't leave nextdoor quick enough. Dictatorial. Big on control of your personal info. Also wants to control what you post. I dont mean abusiveness just real everyday stuff. Try posting somthing about crime or antisocial behaviour. No way. Let's all be positive and unrealstic. Streetlife was really useful, promoted neighbourliness was friendly and fun. Not nextdoor. Too big, too rigid, too boring but very big on wasting my time. Best advice I have. Leave now.
Nextdoor encourages posts about dog feces, tomatoe plants and items for sale. It's not a place to go for safety, crime, raising awareness and helping your commnity. IF you use it in that way, you can count on unfair and disriminatory decisions to be made behind the scenes. Twitter is ranked much higher as a community tool than nextdoor. Save yourself time and use something else.
This site is horrid. I was made a founding lead when I signed up. Everything was great until all the riots started happening. As a lead, I was asked to report and moderate. I did in accordance with the guidelines as things often got heated and folks lacked emotional inteligence. What did nextdoor.com do? Blocked me for reporting the TOS posts in violation. Any time it was a far left thing, this happened. If it was a far right thing, it was upheld and I was not docked privledges. There is a lot of bias. They added community reviewers and that is a totally biased poop show. Leads were sexually harassing other leads and they did nothing, even when I showed them the lead telling me to suck his penis and everything else inappropriate he wanted to do with me. They kept him on. The people who run it offer zero support, do not support their own TOS and certainly do not support their leads. This is a very poorly run social media site that I would not trust content or moderation from.
I love Nextdoor! I'm new to this state and this neighborhood, and Nextdoor has been invaluable in getting to know my neighbors and the issues with the neighborhood, good and bad. I was able to join a volunteer neighborhood cleanup, after learning the history of my neighborhood and its HOA. I cant think of another way I would have learned about all of this. I also attended a "getr to know your neighbors" party through Nextdoor, I've learned the names and places of nearby neighborhoods, I've learned best doctors and dentists, best home services, great stores and restaurants, and so much more! I learn something valuable each time I use Nextdoor, and I use it almost daily. Thanks for a great program!
Complete left wing America Hating California garbage. Worse than Facebook. A good blade to acceptably bash Republicans, Caucasians and ofcourse Donald Trump. Any slight indication that you support the Costitution or our Great Flag, you will get booted for Hate Speech
The Nextdoor montra is that they they are for local people and local businesses. However, every aspect of their direction is related national contracts stomping out the voice of local connectivity.
I had a open-house for my office which I posted so that we can start a meet and greet function. Basically a harmless event post. They immediately shut down my service. And at the time, unless I purchased a national package I could not gain any whisper of advertisement. A useless social media platform. It has no sense of neighborly edicate.
Hence is why I use Alignable, FB and other platforms to communicate. Nextdoor is a great concept. However, a huge fail.
After I accepted an invitation, I discovered that my Next Door group is not my little neighbourhood but a very large area. I keep trying to UNSUBSCRIBE but the site won't let me... keeps telling me my email address is not on their records, but multiple notifications keep being sent to that same email address every day! Total crap.
After being cyberbullied on the app for the past 48 hours from a dissastified customer, I decided to deactivate the account. This app has no monitoring whatsoever. People are free to name call, post personal info, deface your posts, and encourage hacking. It seems that Nextdoor allows this behaviour and looks the other way on vicous cyberbullying.
I was a founder and lead of my neighborhood, but was banned after I wouldn't censor posts which shouldn't have been censored and after posting my own opinions. Because people decided to get triggered over my opinions, I was banned. Nextdoor's user agreement states something about "being neighborly by not causing arguments." LOL funny. If you have different types of people with different types of opinions, how exactly do you NOT cause an argument? There should be civil debate amongst your neighbors. If it gets hectic, it isn't necessarily the fault of the LEAD who voices his/her opinon...
After years of being on ND, my account was temporarily blocked on July 10th for shaming. I had no notice and for three days I didnt know why I couldnt log in. I had to email them and they took their sweet time to respond. A thief repeatedly stole from a nearby neighborhood. I called the unknown person a loser. I pointed out to Mr. Obvious or support that I was not referring to a member/neighbor and they should reinstate my profile. Their condescending response: When you can agree to abide by the guidelines, let us know and we will consider reinstating your account. For now, it is blocked until July 24th.**
** Update: I received a reply from ND support. This was the only reply I've ever received from them where the employee wasn't being condescending. They also reinstated my account per my request.
This app is the worse app ever. The bullying and harassment goes unstopped and if the moderators and reviewers target you. And you post within Nextdoor policies you still get suspended just because they don't like you. I've been verbally abused on Nextdoor and because they are in the inner circle nothing happens to them. I was told to GFY on this sight and other nasty things said to me. This app is a joke and dangerous. I also know someone who is now being harassed at her home because a fellow Nextdoor member found out this person live down the road from her and is now being harassed at her home. This sight should be shut down. It is dangerous
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
