Fedi Geczy, owner of DesignCraft Inc. does absolutely excellent work. We had Fedi do built-in bookcases for an office renovation and also a fireplace mantel, flanked by bookcases and cabinetry. Both are beautiful jobs, delivered on schedule, at a reasonable price. Fedi is a thorough professional -- an honest craftsman and artist who takes enormous pride in his work, He consults with you carefully and will advise if you wish on everything from design to colors and lighting. We were thoroughly happy with his work and recommend him without reservation. If you need any kind of cabinetry or cabinetry-related work, you cannot do better than Fedi Geczy and DesignCraft Inc.
They just decide, blocked, and removed postings at the whims and fancies! Their own interpretation however they like. See this post below! What so disrespectful about my comments?
A woman posted a comment about how her voice was recorded without her knowledge and forwarded to an insurance company. She was telling everyone to beware. A man jumped into the comment thread talking about J6, president Trump and the benefits of surveillance. I told him I couldn't talk to him about these matters as this is not what the thread is about. I told him we should specifically talk about the ladies concerns. He said I was trolling him. I got banned for 2 weeks bc I refused to talk about Trump, public surveillance and J6
I belonged to Nextdoor for almost one year and finally got bullied into leaving. I tried flagging the posts that were degrading, nasty, and falsely accusatory. But nothing ever came of any flagging actions. Several of them men virtually started hounding me because of my reports and accounting of the lack of local policing of criminal reports in our local neighborhoods. The level of nasty and degrading posts that were made about me were digusting. After flagging the posts, nothing happened. I got so disgusted and humiliated that I deactivated my account. Not worth it!.
The next door app is not autonomous so I used to think. I criticized my HOA for not living up to their ordinance and next thing I saw was suspension of my account. I thought they exist to promote communication among communities, not knowing they serve HOAs.
I was a huge fan in the beginning. I actually volunteered to recruit my neighbors. Now I'm emailing all of them to suggest they leave Nextdoor and offering them good reason why. The top three reasons for this are censorship, censorship, censorship. They are a left-wing bastion of liberal ideas and anything posted that's pro Trump, or offering an alternative opinion about COVID - even backed by scientific articles - get removed if they aren't supportive of the leftist position. On a Zoom call this weekend with my neighbors, one of them told a story about how he did business with Nextdoor and how they knickled and dimed him and then, in the end, didn't even want to pay what they agreed upon.
The two "Lead" of this website are married. She is the president of HOA. The husband has recently cyber-bullied an older lady, member of the comunity that lives alone, single, needs hearing aids and has no one to help her. The second Lead (The wife) wouldn't/couldn't do anything to stop him. Actually some jerks on the website, thanked him for treating the lady that way... while victim publicacly begged for "someone" to stop him. Shameful! I personally complained with Nextdoor HQ: they'll take measures that they can't discuss with me. The couple are still the "Lead". No results. Reign of terror!
I restore bikes and sell on Craigslist and Next Door. Craigslist is where you get about 15-20% no shows, or false leads-- i. E. people who send you email and phone calls, but are really not honestly interested in what is for sale- they're just killing time and your patience- Next Door has about 50% responses like, "Is this still available?" and no follow up. For people, Next Door is like channel surfing on their TV. (Really, it's at least 50% or more) When you answer "yes", you simply never hear from them again. People simply love using their cell phones, and their idea of a good time is this dead end inquiry, "Is this still available?". Like poking their head out the front door, "Hey, I wonder if this sun came up today..." HALF CURE: At the top of my ads I now put "IF YOU SEE THIS AD, IT'S STILL AVAILABLE"- This prevents SOME people from asking "Is this still available" - but not all. Unbelievable really. Use your frontal lobes- http://www.BrainRadar.com
I am not on this vile site, but was targeted by a nextdoor members. I was driving near my home when I came upon two bike riders. They say me and moved to the side of the road. I moved over into the oncoming lane, to give them plenty of room. I pulled in my driveway and the two bikers pasted my home. Hours later I was contacted by a friend about a post on nextdoor, about me. Warning people about the crazy old kootand my driving. Inaddition my address was given. Addtional post called me a damagerous person. This site is for people with no backbone. When Sharon t pasted my house she could have stop to talk to me about what she thought happened, but instead she hides behind her computer. I've tried to get the post removed, but nextdoor has done nothing. They don't vet posts, so its anything goes. This is the cesspool of social media, stay away!
After I told the people on the app which I had helped numerous times and told them how great our hood is, I was banned for political stances and not for guidelines while the people threatening violence on me remain
Informative about local information, events and personal referrals. We also like that we can post things for sale or advertise a rental house that could be available.
My friend needs work and has been able to pick up some odd jobs, I was able to invite the community to Cross Point Church for our annual Trunk and Treat. Love being able to connect with the People around you!
You mention meneighbor.com as a possible alternative to NextDoor. Went online and read meneighbor. Coms privacy policy - They collect your personal information and monitor you just as NextDoor does. Its all scary turning over permission to any entity to invade ones contacts, email, personal information and activities. Why do they want it? To sell to anyone willing to pay is bad enough, but there could be even worse reasons. I will keep looking for an app that doesnt do these things, but it will probably will be a subscription/pay for service site, but thats ok. Nothing is free and Id rather pay for a neighborhood service that is not personally invasive and that isnt really in business to data mine my personal information and sell it - or worse.
My neighborhood has 698 individuals on a closed group Facebook page, and someone decided to send these invitations out I signed up because I like the fact that the addresses are verified, but all I see are useless posts and nobody responds to anything, whereas people are really active on the closed group Facebook page. Bye-Bye useless Nextdoor.
I am an active user on Nextdoor. I was updating my info and somehow I messed up my last name. I received an email from Nextdoor saying I violated their guidelines and they deactivated my account. I immediately replied with my correct spelling of my last name and nothing. Still locked out of my account. I've contacted them about fixing it and nothing. Why resort to deactivating my account? Why not tell me I need to fix it within 24 hours or it will be deactivated? Especially if they don't do anything when I give them the info so they can fix it. What a joke.
I moved to Nextdoor after Streetlife closed and it's just not the same. The conversations are boring and scarce. I also don't like the fact it displays which street you live on. I live on a short street, it has 4 houses on it. Pretty easy for someone to figure out where I live even after taking my house no. Off. That limits what I can/can't post and I'm not keen on that at all - I don't trust people who I don't know and they shouldn't know where I live.
For anyone looking for a replacement for Streetlife in the UK try Scooploop! It doesn't compromise your privacy in the way Nextdoor does and it's easier to use than the other alternatives I've tried. It only asks you for your postcode and doesn't display that or your full name to anyone which I like. It's run by people in the UK, it's based in London I think. You don't need to faff about adding your own location in either 'cause it does that automatically. I think it'll be the best alternative.
After giving Nextdoor a try (Business Account) I had one local neighbor private message me not happy that I promote my business. I blocked that user. 1 month later my business account was locked for 30 days for promotion my business on a BUSINESS PAGE?
We support businesses as a business owner and admin two FBook pages that allow businesses to promote their business. I don't understand entities that do not support growth. As soon as I am able to get back in I will be deleting my account.
If you hold a conservative view you will be permanently suspended. Just supporting a Republican fundraiser has offended someone on $#*! door and they banned me.
I can't understand how ND (fort Myers) moderators that complain about posts on general feed should not be political but look the other way with the rightwing posts, these come camouflaged with Nobel claims of prayers for falling soldiers and others directly promoting anti vaccines or maga events, when challenged, assertiveness is reported as bullying
They will post anything as long as it is the opinion of the administration, opposing views are unacceptable. Hmmm sounds like communism to me. What happened to free speech in this country.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
Nextdoor has a rating of 1.9 stars from 3,047 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nextdoor most frequently mention social media, real name and free speech. Nextdoor ranks 503rd among Social Network sites.
