Do you spend hours searching for the best boat to suit your preferences? Do you spend way too much time trying to get the best value for pleasure?! NCL disrespects your time by changing their itineries and cutting time from ports without any compensation in your travel. When they canceled the primary port (honduras) of our trip and replaced it with a beautiful but boring bahama stop, AND shaved off 2 hrs from Mexico they would not refund any money, add a drink package, provide a free ride for the kids on the go-karts- NOTHING to help make us feel we got value for our trip in the end.
Their customer service would listen but kept repeating "sorry you feel that way, but I can do nothing about it". When asked to speak to a supervisor, hoping they could see how the price of the trip should be adjusted if their service advertised is cancelled, or try to accomodate the swing in value- the supervisor just spoke over me explaining the situation and then hung up!
We loved cruising in the past, but our time is valuable and they disrespected all my hours of planning and hours of overtime to make this trip happen for our family. I'll never use NCL again- awful customer service and NO respect for our dollar.

Been on several cruises with NCL, last August we cruised to mexico and decided to buy a couple pieces of art from park west gallery operating on NCL, we were told that the art was the actual art we bidded on, when we received the art, it was copies of the original which we were led to believe we were getting, they refuse to refund our money, we then started looking up Paek west gallery and was astonished to see the numerous complaints, basically they are a predator company being allowed to operate under the NCL with no ramifications for their predatory practices, buyer be aware before you get scammed. NCL is hosting this behavior on their ships, do not buy from Park West Gallery, they are a bait and switch company

Norwegian is awful
January 29, 2023

There is nobody to answer any questions, Berto that i just spoke with actually yelled at me, i have spent hours on the phone with these idiots and nobody and answer any problems i am having. One person says i have airline tickets and they have been ticketed so no changes, the airline says not ticketed, this berto guy gives me a number to call THAT I CALLED AND TALKED WITH SOMEONE EARLIER TODAY that sent me an email with flight info and said already ticketed and there can be no changes. He called me a liar and said they are not open on weekends. I called the number again after we got off the phone and the recording said they were open today from 9 am to 5:30 pm. NCL cancelled our cruise last year on a monday and we were suppose to sail on that friday! And i was stupid enough to book with them again, please do not be as stupid as i am. i hate norwegian

Let's start with the positive. The employees are nice, and the food was pretty good. That's about it. The ship "The Jewel" feels like you are on a ferry boat. The outdoor pool area is super duper small, not a whole lot to do on the boat. Eveyone is trying to sell you something. The CASINO is the biggest joke! Talk about a snatch and grin for your money! You are a SUCKER for walking into to it! It's almost comical, seriously. We're on the 7 day cruise to Mexico right now, heading back to San Diego. The port stop at Ensenada is the worst port ever. They pushed us onto a shuttle into "the city" but ended up in the back parking lot of a empty building?! I felt really bad for the poor 70+ yr old couples trying to figure out a way back to the boat. No doubt a scam with the taxi companies. Thanks again NCL. And the funny part? I own a boat load (no pun) of NCL stock. Time to dump it next week, last cruise with this company. Sad! It wasn't like this in 17' or 18'. You can't blame COVID! Get you stuff together NCL.

My wife and I were all set to fly to LAX where we would board the Bliss for a cruise to the Mexican Riviera. We flew from Detroit to Chicago. Once we landed we were told our flight to Los Angeles would be delayed due to a mechanical issue. In order to board the Bliss we had to be at the Pier by 1:00. The agents scurried to try and rebook a large number of passengers. They tried putting us on standby...for a flight that was overbooked. I called Norwegian and the agent said "Try to get here. I will make a note of your delay." We had no choice but to fly home the next day.

I did purchase travel insurance. I was hopeful that we would be reimbursed for the $2300 we paid for the cruise.

I filled out claims forms. I attached every document I had in support of our claim. A couple of days later I received a letter of determination from the travel insurance company. They DENIED our claim. Nothing in the policy covered mechanical issues on the aircraft!

We have been loyal NCL cruisers. Now I realize they don't care how loyal we are, they aren't loyal to their clients. This is the second time we have been refused payment for a cruise we didn't take.

NCL arranged for our airline transportation. Had I arranged it myself I would have taken a straight-through flight, not one with a stop. We have two cruises scheduled for 2023, We will cancel both. WE WILL NOT TRAVEL WITH NCL AGAIN.

My family and friends have used Norwegian Cruise Line for years as our preferred cruise line. Unfortunately, after this last experience, we will NEVER use them again. For this particular trip, we've booked about 40 cabins in all as a group trip to Alaska. My father booked the reservations for him/my mom, my sister/husband, and me/my cousin, with that being said my father also called in to set up a deviated flight for all of us to leave out of JFK on 6/19 instead of 6/21. EVERYONE'S flights were changed to the correct departure date EXCEPT for mine. So I have spent over 6 hours on the phone trying to figure out how that had happened and no one will answer that question for me because there is supposedly "no recording" of my dad making that change YET my sisters and his were changed, so again I ask how is that possible? One person said they may have lost the call and so it's still my problem even if they lost the call. To me that is an unacceptable anger and so I have been hung up on multiple times because they have said they WILL NOT help me further and they WILL NOT answer the simple question HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THERE'S ARE CHANGED BUT MINE ARE NOT. So sorry Norwegian this WILL be the last time my family and I use you guys. Have a wonderful day!

Nope, not for me.
May 29, 2023

It was okay overall because of the shore excursions. But I won't return to Norwegian. My Celebrity Beyond Cruise was WAY WAY better! The Celebrity cruise staff was MUCH friendlier and MUCH more organized. It was a nightmare embarking and disembarking! At times, VERY dangerous with thousands of people crowded in areas to get off the ship for shore excursions. They should have a better system. Celebrity had a much safer, more efficient system. Staff was NOT accommodating. For example, I asked for a can of Coke for my mixed drink instead of the syrupy junk they had at the well. They REFUSED because it wasn't part of my package. We offered to pay for the Coke and they still REFUSED to give it to me. Seriously?! Are you kidding me? Lines were long for everything, and I hardly got to participate in onboard activities because they were booked so fast on the first day for the entire voyage. Almost every onboard activity came at a price. Jeez. Good luck getting a seat in the dining area. CROWDED! Food was the same old thing every day with only minor variations. Flavorless, cheap... Restrooms had soap dispensers that were glitchy. The airdryer for your hands were worthless, and the paper towel dispensers put out 1/2 a sheet.

Norwegian Cruise Line RUINED our vacation! Norwegian scheduled us on flights that would not get us to the port on time to board our NCL ship before it left port. When the flight schedule changed, NCL told us it was fine as long as we got to the port by 5 pm. The next day, NCL told us we had to be at the port by 4 pm & would not be able to board the ship. We then had to make our own flight arrangements to get to another country, the ship's 1st port of call (this despite purchasing trip insurance from NCL!). When I asked for help making flight changes from NCL, the NCL agent hung up on me! So here we are stranded in another country waiting to join the cruise we paid for & having to cover expenses for unexpected hotel stay for 2 days, meals & transportation! We have lost 2 whole days of our NCL cruise vacation, have additional unexpected expenses in a foreign country & no help or customer service from NCL. As long as NCL has your money, they could care less what happens to you or even if you ever get to enjoy the vacation you worked so hard to plan & pay for. Boo NCL! Your customer service stinks, or should I say WHAT customer service!?!

I just wanted to express the ire and disappointment with Norwegian Cruise Line and their flight reservations department.

My criuse is November 8th on the Epic. I called NCL air reservations department to coordinate with them as to what I need for my flight from palm springs ca to Rome italy. The rep refused to hear my needs, was demeaning, nasty and never ask how she could help come to a resolution. All I want is to get to Rome sometime in the daytime, not midnight, and maybe pay for an upgrade, depending on costs, and look at seat assignments.

I asked for a supervisor, who turned out to be as burnt out, mean, condescending, and negative as the initial Rep. She never heard my concerns and kept telling me I couldn't chose my airline. Not on my list! There was NO addressing of what i wanted. The consistent NCL retort was "you can book your own flight". Well that won't happen since I get one free airfare. So NCL's answer to everything was a round about, "catch 22" answer to inquiries that sees no resolutions for anyone.

My biggest gripe is the lack of listening the NCL staff exhibited in these interactions. They had no empathy, understanding or CARING for me as a NCL guest. They seemed mean spirited in their retorts and exhibited a total lack of concern for me, the NCL guest.

I recommend you try another cruise line and stay far away from Norwegian Cruise line! MJ Puckett

NCL DISASTER
February 13, 2023

This was one of the worst cruises that we have taken in the past 20 years. ( 15 or more). We booked this cruise to visit the Panama canal and paid a surplus to cruise the locks which was amazing. But if you did not book a tour with NCL you did not get to visit the area because we were kept hostage on the ship in the lake after going through the locks. During the 11 day cruise we were offered a fantastic show which was repeated once more during the cruise. Also the main 4 singers put on a fabulous show once during the 11 days. Oh yes, they consider their exclusive ship board " Deal or no Deal " entertainment! It is simply a cash grab for NCL. You buy cards to play along with the stage game on the hope that you could win a prize or some cash. If one looks at the cards ( $ 29.00 each or 3 for $ 60.00) and check the possibilities, the chances on winning are slim and none. They have 2 great bands that play at poolside and a venue called the bliss. For 11 days we could almost sing along with them as most of the repertoire was repeated through the cruise. These bands are overworked. They do not have the seafood ( lobster tail) night any longer. No dress up night or any special evening where one can put on a suit or fancy dress. The menu as very limited and the food was just average to poor. Most ports of call were very limited. Average of 4 to 6 hours of ones that we visited, 5 in all. They now have a private island called harvest Quay where one can use their ship card meaning that that most proceeds are shared with NCL. I remember most cruise lines have a private island where you can enjoy a terrific BBQ and sit at the beach and listen to some great island music. NCL has one but chose to use this cash grab other private island on this cruise. After waiting 3 years because of COVID and finally able to cruise once again, NCL let us down, "BIG TIME ". The only memories we have are the crossings through the locks and a server named Norman who made our dining experience a highlight of the cruise. It will be a long time or never to book with NCL again. I would suggest before booking any cruise in these days, where the cruise lines are trying to save money, that you should check all the reviews before booking any cruise.

I recently booked a $13K cruise for my family of 10. I have been living a nightmare since. I didn't know a cruise line could have such power and your rights disappear as soon as you pay in full (which they insist on very, very quickly). They made errors to begin with and overcharged me. I pointed it out and they fixed it and then wrote off my overpayment instead of refunding me! We're talking $877. When I tried to get it fixed, they ran it again and charged me another $239 per cabin with no explanation. I waited for "resolution" department for over 2 hours before I gave up in tears. I then realized they charged me more for a quad (4 adult children in one room) than I could get for 2 doubles... after all the pain they put me through, would they work with me to get a more comfortable set up... this only 2 days after booking so not a lot done yet... Hell no! They have their policies that the DO enforce to the death and that is, don't do anything that benefits the customer. They wouldn't fix me to the better situation because their policy is that would be a cancel and start over and I would lose 75% of the $5K I paid for this quad. End of story. Dead end. They don't care they owe ME $877 for overpayments. They don't care they wasted hours of my life and my wits fighting for what should've been a no-brainer. It isn't their policy to be good, fair people. Truly the devil. Do NOT use NCL! Really, don't do it!

I recently booked a European cruise with them and spent $22,000, nothing short of inexpensive. I spoke with a representative on the phone and told them I was booking 3 separate reservations with flights. The person I spoke with never let me know that this would lead to my family not flying together. 1 month after booking I received my flight information and noticed I was flying with my husband and my parents were on a separate flight, I was okay with this. However, they put my mother-in-law and my father-in-law (who suffers from seizures) on completely separate flights. I received the air confirmation 53 days before my travel date. When I called to just get my mother-in-law and father-in-law issues fixed...I spent 3 hours on the phone with 5 different representatives, none who could solve the issue. I let them know that I wanted to cancel my trip and I was told I was only going to receive 25% of what I paid... they gave me NO room to cancel or get new flights of how late they sent my air confirmation. On top of that NOWHERE in their confirmation does it say that booking separate reservations will lead to separate flights. PEOPLE STAY AWAY, THEY ARE SCAMMERS! My family and I will be taking legal action against them since the air information is only found on their website if you google it. They do not let you know of it. They are scamming people left and right and this is obviously not okay. DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THEM.

Disappointing service
May 31, 2023

The destination was great.
On board the ship no so great
Chose this on a recommendation from a friend that is a avid cruiser. We were first time cruisers that consisted of 6 family members, all of us are adults. The embarkation process worked very well. Very organized and efficient. The process for disembarkation at the ports was chaotic and inefficient. At Juneau we had a whale watching excursion booked thru the cruise line, it was scheduled to start 30 minutes after our arrival. Before booking I talked to the cruise excursion people concerning the arrival and start time. I was told people with close times would receive priority disembarkment, that was false, also a accounting would be taken to ensure everyone who booked would make it. Also false, they left without checking and left people off the trip. The excursion left a hour late which shortened the first stage of the excursion. The other real problem concerns dining in any place other than specialty dining or the buffet dining. As a party of 6, it was extremely difficult to get seated, they would not take reservations for 6 or less. The hostess would take your info, then not follow thru with seating. Once seated, meals took approximately 2 hours. During that time there was possibly one time they would refill your drinks/water. At one dinner, they started refilling water glasses and ran out with 2 glasses left, he left and never returned to finish filling the last two. After the main course, the wait was indefinite for the desert menu. At 3 different sittings after waiting for over 30 minutes for that, we gave up and left. Not sure if this is exclusive to this ship, NCL or cruises in general. They were either unorganized or understaffed or both. I cannot recommend this line or ship at this time.

We purchased cruise+airfare to Alaska and were looking forward it. But due to hurricane the flight was canceled and NCL failed to rebook it. They offered to fly out from the different airport 250 miles away from our place at night when the state government officially asked all floridans stay at home because of hurricane. It was not acceptable option for us seniors (65 years old) to go toward the hurricane at nighttime and expose our lives to mortal danger.
But NCL denies to refund or credit even though the service not delivered and consumers law protecr customers in that case. WE ARE VERY DISAPOINTED AND NEVER RECOMED NCL TO ANYONE!

I haven't even left yet and already it's horrible. All in one day my excursion was canceled. This is the excursion we were most looking forward to, surfing in Maui. Then I found out i was being charged for transportation they are not even providing and was told I'd have a penalty to cancel it. A penalty for something I didn't ask for, know I had or could even use!?! Then what sent me over the edge was another email sent in the same day that their kids program for the entire cruise was also canceled. This literally affects my daughters entire cruise and because she is 12 this is the last year she could even experience this. I called for each of these items and got nowhere. I legit spent 8 hrs one the phone today! They showed they do not care at all about their guests. I received this all AFTER the deadline to cancel! All excursions are booked up so no replacement available now that we would want or could afford. I was told I could just not go but I won't get a refund. That is how this cruise line operates!?!?! Horrible horrible experience so far and we havent even left! This is my first and last cruise with Norweigian. We will continue with Carnival as we have had several with them and never been treated this way! Oh and this is costing me $7600! I am livid! The guest relations who is supposedly the top of the top could not and would not do anything about this. My daughter was offered money for the arcade in the email. She is not a gamer kid at all! So this is not even close to an acceptable replacement taking the entire program away for the entire cruise! I really cannot believe your comoany treats it's guests this way. I am so so upset. $7,600 is a whole lot of money I've spent on this to be going through this EIGHT DAYS BEFORE WE LEAVE!

We purchased the $6000 9 day Greek Isle Cruise that sets sale from Athens on 7/12 with a journey to Istanbul, Greek Islands and Italy. We solely chose this cruise based on the itinerary that included a day and a half in Istanbul, with the understanding we'd have to be flexible with any changes. However, we were expecting reasonable changes. This feels like a "bait and switch" now that we are past the date of being eligible for a full refund. The itinerary changes are egregious as NCL not only reduced our time on land by a total of 15.5 hours, but shortened several land days to span from port arrival times beginning at 6 a.m/7 a.m. to departure times from respective ports at 2 p.m. What land activities, shops or restaurants will be open at 6 am? Couple the fact that guests need to be on the ship 2 hours before departure we'll be lucky if we make it two blocks from port before we have to turn around by 11 am to be in line by 12 noon. The explanation of "unforseen circumstances due to required ship maintenance," leaves me feeling that I was oversold and under-delivered before even setting sail. I understand that ships require maintenance but isn't maintenance a standard operating procedure that NCL builds into the advertised itinerary? Why does this have to become the burden of the guest at the cost of $6,000 in my case.

I escalated an email to the CEO and VP Guest Services, Katty Byrd. Seeing the amount of complaints on the review boards, I expect it will go unanswered as their standard response is "Sorry." For taking my $6,000 I expect a better response AND I would expect them to offer a refund in such scenarios where the modifications to the itinerary are this drastic.

Customer No-service
August 22, 2023

I am in the same boat (no pun intended) as many. We have not sailed yet but the customer service is horrible. Nobody knows what is going on, they are in a hurry to get you off the phone, and are not helpful at all. AND we have not even sailed yet.

NCL made all the arrangements for us. I booked with them in November, 2022. Paid in full in March 2023 when I found our NCL travel rep quit in December and nobody had been assigned to us. Here we are in August, 2023 and STILL no travel rep though I have asked for one repeatedly. When it came time for them to book our airline tickets, they actually double booked us: one set of reservations were out of Columbus, OH, the other out of Charlotte, NC. Both reservations were on the same notice sent to us. We live in Ohio. When they fixed that, we got screwed as the new and final set leaves 10 minutes later out of Columbus but arrives in Anchorage, AL 4 hours later than the 'original' set of reservations and has a layover in Chicago which we avoid at all costs. I will NEVER, EVER have anybody but me make airline reservations for us again. Lesson learned.

Our land tour and cruise is two weeks off. I should be excited about it. I am not as I don't know what horrors await me. I have no hotel info, no assurances they will actually be at the airport to take us to the correct place, etc. Customer service has none of this info. Apparently, none of this is formulated until I complete the on-line check in. I completed this yesterday. My question is, why is this not finalized long before I complete the check in? Why can't customer service see this or are they just too lazy to look?

We cruised with NCL back in 2018. It was lovely. For that trip, we went through Cruises Only. I wish I had gone through them this time rather than with NCL directly. This experience is nasty. I will not book with NCL nor take a cruise with them ever again.
