I had problems with MyUS swapping my US$420 worth item and sending it to another person. Now they have sorted out everything, with a one month delay. I have finally received my (replacement) item.
It seems that it took them this long because they needed to check my case, make sure they cannot retrieve my item from a lucky duck, buy a replacement and send it to me (all at their own cost).
Despite some negative aspects I faced in the process, I would still recommend this service for international shipping needs, as they offer one of the cheapest rates in the market.
However, make sure to consider everything starting from additional weight when you select shipping in original box etc. Also, Small Packet Saver service can be a pain in somewhere as you might wait for a whole month as I did, without proper tracking information available.
Customer Service is a separate topic, as they seem to be instructed to give out as little information as possible, and you need to almost pull info out of them with pincers.
Today is December 18th, a month and 5 days since my item was swapped by MyUS and sent to someone else, and almost a month since they registered my case. I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY ITEM. My emails to Customer Service are being ignored. They have not only spoiled my wedding anniversary gift, but now they are not going to make it by Christmas time. What kind of 'professional' service are they?! They can seem very polite and so on, but in fact they appear to be very little caring of us the customers. All they need is our money, and once you paid, you can be ignored. This is my experience.
MyUS swapped my US$420 worth item with another shipment. I registered the case on Nov 20 immediately upon receipt of a wrong package, and today they still have nothing to say to me, except "Wait for email." They claim to be handling the case, but 7 days after the case was opened they cannot tell me when I will get my item, leave alone whether I will get it at all!

Answer: Micaela, it all depends on the rules in Peru. I'm a MyUS customer and one of the reasons I like their service is because they give me a discount on the shipping cost, each time. There's an option in your shipping settings where you can select 'label as gift', usually customs aren't charged on gift items. Maybe you should try that once. Works for me all the time. I hope someone from MyUS will respond to your question and give you a more satisfying answer. All the best.
