My experience with MyUs is hassle free compared to all the other sites similar to them. It also helps that it's so much easier to navigate their website too. I also recently had issues with a package received and support worker by the name of Alison was extremely helpful in helping me sort out the problem.
Be careful as there are tons of hidden costs - e.g. i had a package with an invoice, however they for some reason decided to declare an estimated cost that was double the true value, incurring massive import duties due to them refusing to change the declared cost without penalty.
Agent Kelly connected with me immediately and provided expert assistance while closing out my account. Kelly was informative, polite, and fast. I really appreciate the live chat customer service MyUS offers.
Ian was outstanding! I spoke to numerous customer service reps from different companies that day because I needed answers to the questions MyUS had regarding the item that's on hold.
Though my issue isn't resolved yet, I appreciate Ian's commitment and zeal towards assisting me.
I wish that he'd follow up and do a temp check but I'm guessing MyUS doesn't do outbound calls.

You get notifications of the entire consolidation process from items arriving at your suite, to Items getting sent out. Both the website and app are easy to use with lots of instructions. Customer service wise, it's top notch. I got my few questions answered quickly via online chat. It takes just 1 day for them to pack and ship out my package. The best thing is that you can accurately estimate the shipping rates as they charge by weight instead of dimension. The shipping rate is a bit pricey but there's no other option if the merchant won't ship outside the US. But for the quality of service I get, I feel the price is reasonable. I feel this company is friendly and personal. They know how to make a customer happy.
They are impossible to contact, they don't answer email, you can't call them, website chat support hasn't worked in months.
You're basically sending your package into a giant black hole from which it may or may not ever reappear.
It's currently November 2 and my package arrived on Sept 11th. The only way to know my package ever existed on their system is if you search for my package by tracking # and you're greeted with:
"Please allow up to 48 hours for our receiving department to classify your items after delivery. Your package will be in your My Suite once completed."
Well it's now closer to 48 DAYS.
Run away, far far away.
I have been using MyUS for over 10 years, and no trouble.
Also, 98% of support persons are very quick and helpful, kind, reliable. They provide needed information in a min always.
I can recommend MyUS to friends.
I signed up and tried to register my CC and there was a problem. Wrote to them and tried calling their phone... no-one there all day, just kept me on hold for 5 minutes and then the call is forwarded to a message bank.
Even tried the live chat... after 25 mins still nobody is answering. I was considering using this company, but have serious doubts.
It took a complaint through this site to get an eventual reply via support email... didn't bother replying because I decided to use another company with responsive customer service.

Worst service I have ever experienced! I ordered two packages. Both were not delivered. They said it was lost and it is my problem. I lost hundreds of dollars... I mean: What the $#*! is wrong with you guys? Don´t you care when customers go away and don´t use your services anymore because you can´t even do what you have promised at the first place?
Also customs are pretty high so at the end it makes no much of a difference, if you buy it in America or in your own country. (Talking about Europe)
Ridiculous! I had to pay more fees than actually the package was worth!
Guys, seriously don´t choose MyUs. Your money is more worth than spending it on a membership with these fellas. There are lot of other services which perform 1000 times better and care about their customers.

I was having some issues regarding a missing package, damaged items etc... after notifying myus.com a representative by the name of Angel was able to offer help. I have been a member with them for 3 years and also upgraded my membership thinking will get better service!
First of all You can not contact them by email support is almost gone to zero! And their chat always either busy or closed!
They lost one Item when I requested shipping and when they found it they charged me again! And when I try to contact them either no response or no email.
I Think this company just can not handle any more workload and I will find an alternative soon as many others are offering similar services now! Just stay away from it. Too much issues
Dorothea assisted me wonderfully with my request and my issue was quickly resolved. MyUS has the best services and best customer representatives that take really good care of customers. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to buy stuff online from the US. Their service is impeccable.
This company was once great. Had used it for several years without issues. A change of ownership or service procedure (early in 2014) has meant that it now takes them from 24 hours to 3 days to receipt in your package with the knock impact that your parcel will now ship later. If you are fine with the delay they are OK but for me it somewhat defeats the benefit of paying for express shipping. They also seem to jack up the cost of shipping by regularly using larger boxes than required for what you are shipping. Admittedly I have never had an item damaged in shipment.
For a declared value of 39.99$ and shipping costs of 13.99$ MyUs is charging me around 35$ for VAT. The actual VAT is actually 10.25$. Upon enquiry this is what I get:
"Since this is done by the system, we do not have a specific numerical breakdown of the percentages used. "
Meaning: do ask for details about how we are cheating you.
The way we charge VAT is based on the cost of items and the shipping cost that's charged. The fees that are charged for VAT are paid directly to customs we do not receive any profit from this.
Contacted live chat 2 days running re a parcel that I couldnt get sent. Today I spoke with Kelly who was most helpful and went through various fixes until we had success unlike the operator the day before that gave me one set of instructions that did not work and left me hanging. Kudos to Kelly
MyUS services is a god send for me as it gave me access to many products & items that are otherwise unreachable for me.
My favorite parts of their services is the amount of care they put into packaging & answering to their customers concerns, worth every dollar spent on premium which is cheap to boot & competitive with other services I tried.
Timely & detailed updates, friendly customer support, great packaging, ease of mind personal shopping, competitive prices & an amazing number of features related to your packages in the "inbox" as well as shipping preferences & after shipping summary.
Very highly recommended & considered the best in their field & my favorite amongst the rest. Been using them for the last 2 months & never looked back as its kinda hard to settle for less after experiencing what they have to offer.

Then they started messing up valuations of parcels once they realised I was getting them in under $1000 even though the merchant receipt was provided, they went from charging $400 per shipment with one the exact same costing me $1800. They decided to put it on a pallet. This was 4 weeks before Christmas. So they held my Christmas presents for ransom. Crap service crap company
This sorry excuse for a company decided to hold a package "for review" for over a month without any explanation or clarification, then suddenly indicated that they will dispose of the package within 3 days if I don't handle a refund with the vendor.
Positively disgusting behavior. It is as if they provide you with free service and you need to be thankful for what you're getting — disgusting.

I have a guitar and a few much smaller items to ship. They (Alan) can't make a box of the right size so that to fit guitar and other items, hence charged me 100% extra for shipping in original manufacturer's box. When I threatened to dispute charges, they cancelled shipment and now do not want to discuss options. "don't want to argue anymore" kind of language. Before products arrival they were re-assuring that guitars etc can be easily shipped at promised rate, now rates went up more than 100%. Expect never fulfilled promises and significantly higher rates.

Answer: Micaela, it all depends on the rules in Peru. I'm a MyUS customer and one of the reasons I like their service is because they give me a discount on the shipping cost, each time. There's an option in your shipping settings where you can select 'label as gift', usually customs aren't charged on gift items. Maybe you should try that once. Works for me all the time.
