I cancelled order after they doubled shipping charges over internet quote, they still charged my card and have not refunded or shipped. Yeah, they're thieves!
Horrible experience with Myturtlestore.com! I ordered two turtles on the 15th of this month. Got an email the next morning that I needed to call them. I called the office with in mins of getting the email for them to tell me that they don't ship turtles to Oregon. I said not a problem just cancel my order and refund me my money. I'm going on 15 days since and they haven't refunded the money yet. Love that they're earning interest on my money and wont refund it. They should have a better website and when typing in a state that doesn't allow turtles it should automatically deny it. I WILL NEVER EVER SUGGEST THEM TO ANYONE! Scammers for sure!
Received a sick Hermans turtle to begin with... dark skin, lethargic, dry, and not eating. The terrarium and supplies they sent us were not adequate. No thermometer, wrong substrate, glass walls, no basking stone, and the timer was broken. $450 for sick turtle and $400 for crappy supplies. They will no give a refund. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. So, I wish I had read these reviews before ordering 2 baby turtles for my daughter. They arrived DEAD after I paid EXTRA for a cold pack and express shipping. Now, they want me to return the DEAD TURTLES at my expense! Then, I'll get a STORE CREDIT! No thank you! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!
So I ordered the turtle as a present they told me I would get my code to track the turtle in 42 hours once I got the code it said there was no updates on the turtle so I had to wait then after 2 more days of waiting they said I have to pay 20$ to update my shipping plan because mine was not the right one there is only one shipping plan you can add water and food but you don't have to and then they told me I had to changing my shipping when you don't get to choose shipping at all so once I paid the money they said ok it would be shipped 1 day later the shipping code still does not work I emailed them 10 times to know what was going on for them to say I had to upgrade my payment again and they do no do refunds so basically 50$ lost it's nothing I can so do not buy from here you will not get ur order if u do it will probably come dead so do not
I ordered a red earred slider from myturtlestore.com for my mom, since hers had ran away. After I paid about $26 I was super excited to surprise her and was hoping for the best. I checked my email a few days later since it was taking a while to show up. I had an email from them saying that there were a few issues with the order and I needed to call them, so I did the next day. The lady on the phone wasn't too rude but she told me that I needed to pay an extra $24 for a heat pack and shipping. I already paid for shipping on the website and I'd added a hydration pack as well. I asked the lady to refund my money she said that the money would transfer in 5 to 10 business days. I called them on March 11th and my money still hasn't come in.
Ordered a pink belly side neck hatchling after i paid never got a confirmation email or anything they don't answer phones and haven't responded to any emails complete scam never ordering here again!
I bought a $10 turtle and opted for the $10 shipping. I didn't realize the turtle required overnight shipping, to the tune of $36 in shipping. I immediately cancelled the order and called The Turtle Store "customer service" number. I spoke with someone named Crystal who was the rudest customer service rep in which I've ever spoken. She informed me that I would be refunded the cost of the purchase minus a 20% fee of the purchase price, and she said very snotty, "that's what you agreed to when you bought the turtle." I understand that, but for some reason we are not refunded our total shipping amount even though nothing ever shipped. When I inquired why I wouldn't get the full shipping costs (remember, the website says "purchase price" not purchase price and shipping), her response was, "I don't know." I asked if there was anyone she could ask and she said, "No. I'm the only one in the office." Seriously? I've sent three emails and left two voice mail messages and no one has called me back yet. This is a total scam of a company. Don't even attempt to do business with them!
CDC advises not to purchase turtles from this website due to a salmonella outbreak. Nothing is posted on their website acknowledging this outbreak, and they're still selling their turtles.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! MyTurtleStore.com did not put the unit # on the shipping label so my live baby turtle delivery was delayed. When it arrived, it and the ice pack I had to pay EXTRA to package it with were both BOILING HOT. The turtle was dead on arrival, was probably dead overnight from the heat. My son was devastated. We had our doubts about online delivery of a live animal. If MyTurtleStore cannot GUARANTEE OVERNIGHT DELIVERY you should not be providing shipping of live animals. This was the worst experience ever and then to top it off, you're refusing to issue a refund because I didn't take 6 photos of the dead animal before disposing of it! We disposed of it property THEN began the refund request process. I called first, left a message, with no return call and then had to jump through hoops to request a refund, only to be denied. This whole experience, from beginning to end, was awful.
I ordered an albino red eared slider over $300 and they screwed me for it. Tried to get it back for three years and gave up. One $#*!ed up store.
I was nervous after seeing some of the other negative reviews, but my experience with this store was absolutely amazing. I was looking for a male juvenile razorback musk turtle, which few stores have in stock at all, let alone sexed. I noticed that these guys allowed you to choose the sex of baby turtles, so I called customer service to ask how that's possible (since sexing baby turtles is practically impossible) and they explained to me that they control the temperature of the incubations to get the desired sex. I happened to mention that I'd been looking for a juvenile, and they said they actually had a few in stock - just not enough to put on the website! I was able to order exactly the turtle I wanted, and when he arrived yesterday I couldn't believe my luck - this turtle is easily 2.5 inches, he's absolutely beautiful, he arrived safely and was in very, very good health. He acclimated well to his new tank, ate for the first time this morning, and he has no fear at all when I pick him up to feed him - which tells me that he's been well cared for and that he's used to being gently handled. Maybe others have had bad luck, or have had shipping issues due to bad/hot weather - I shipped overnight with extra cooling packs, in the spring when its cool out - but my experience was absolutely great and I have no doubt that this company cares for their animals.
Placed an order and two weeks later, still has not arrived., EMailed and called them numerous times and they never got back to me. Horrible service! Never got my order or money back!
When I read the reviews I was scared but my little girl got her turtle healthy and alive so I am so happy

Let me start out by just saying how UNDERRATED AND MISJUDGED this place is. After buying my turtle online, I was scared after reading some of these reviews. BUT BOY WERE THEY WRONG! My turtle came right on time, and they gave me plenty of e-mail updates. The packaging looked really secure and they had lots of helpful cards with info about the turtle and even a free tub of baby turtle food. I opened the container that he was in, and he looked a little stuffed right in there, and I've heard a lot of complaints that it's too tight for the turtle. This is only for the turtle's protection and without the padding it would have room to slide and it could get hurt. Plus, the turtle was in hibernation when I got him, so he wasn't in any discomfort at all. He is completely healthy and now living a happy life in his new home. I would 100% buy from them again, they were so nice and cool about everything. Also, I've heard complaints about them not being clear on what to do if the turtle dies, but mine came with very detailed instructions on what to do if the turtle dies, so quit leaving horrible reviews, this is just a small business doing there best, and I had an amazing experience
My turtle Never came and he didn't want to give me a full refund he say it 20% cancellation fee when I never cancel for my turtle I just neva receive it
We ordered a baby sideneck, and even checked the Oregon laws for what turtles/tortoises were prohibited and baby sidenecks weren't on it. We got an email the day after we ordered it and paid for it but the guy said the species we were wanting to get they WOULD NOT ship it to Oregon and after a second call to them they said the wouldn't ship ANY turtle or tortoise to Oregon and then they hung up on us. They told us we would get our money back sometime in the middle of next week, but we'll see. I would not suggest this place to ANYONE! EVER!
I ordered a female redfoot adult and she cost over $500, I never received her! Do not purchase your tortoises here.
If I could give 0 stars I would. They shipped me 2 turtles that were dry, hot and dead, and still haven't refunded me. Run!
