This site has posted fraudulent relatives, fraudulent arrest record, fraudulent lien record, etc. Nothing about their reputation scores is accurate for me or my husband or son. I checked them all.
Be VERY careful about using their information, as it could get you sued. I threatened to sue them and they are removing my name in 5 days, they said. If it pops up again, I'm suing.
While looking up another person I typed in my own name. More than half of info was wrong. I would not use MyLife yet alone pay for it. Don't know where they get their info but needs work. Wrong relatives, wrong income, wrong addresses, etc.
Mine says that I "DO" have a criminal background. The only thing that I've done that could even be considered corrupt is ignoring a burnt out light bulb for a few weeks (and possibly any grammar errors in this review).
Signed up for mylife.com for the $1 trial period to cross check a prospect tenant background. Though I cancelled my subscription I was still charged $69.95. On top of that the information provided was inaccurate and incorrect: her two evictions were missing! Good thing I was able to gather this information somewhere else. Now I'm stuck with the credit card charge and having to fight it.
This fraudulent social site has been used by an ex wife to try and ruin a man's reputation and build herself up in the public eye as she lives a double life. She created an account for the man without his consent or knowledge and she and her immoral friend post negative reviews. They also use her account to bash the ex husband and build herself up in the small community where they live. In reality she participates in illegal activities and is an adulteress. This site should be shut down and made to compensate everyone who has had their reputation damaged by this "game" for immoral and low life individuals to readily use! Time to call a lawyer although I'm sure it's been done many times before!
Mylife states that I have a criminal record, bankruptcy, lives in states I have never lived, relatives I do not have, liens I do not have. Everything they state about me is a complete lie. This better not effect my career or life, because I will take action. However It looks like others are managing this horrible company. Mylife is a fake scam that is slandering good people. I tried to call 3 times, waited 30 minutes each time, they picked up the phone, and hung up. I have emailed a request 5 days ago to tell them to remove my profile that they created not me. I am still waiting for their response. I never heard about mylife until I googled my name. This company needs to stop these horrific lies.
This company should be put out of business and have a class action suit filed against them. I signed up for a trial offer just to see what info was available on me and found it had my current address as an address I haven't been at for over 30+ years just for starters. For a company that supplies info that gives a reputation score that could be used as a basis for employment, housing, loans, volunteer services should not exist anywhere at any time. The info provided is unreliable and could be damaging to good and honest people. I was billed for $179 and $156 and it's impossible to reach the company at any phone numbers or email. There should be laws against this type of "service" and the info they provide. I urge others to not even bother with a trial offer because you will be hit with outrageous charges with little recourse to get your money back. Let's put this company out of business and start a class action lawsuit. I only gave a one star because it's not possible to give them anything less.
I emailed MyLife.com to request them to remove my personal info. They said no, unless I pay for their premium subscription service. This is a scam. Other data brokers would honor the removal requests. Please do not pay MyLife.com, because it is an extortion.
I read a lot of reviews and complaints about this site. It should be shut down but it's not illegal to post information that's already public; however, it is illegal to spread slander about somebody on the internet. I signed up for lifelock and used their tools to have any kind of information removed from the internet. mylife.com removed my information in less then 5 business days. The information that's being posted about you can be helpful to others trying to steal your identity. It can also cost you a job if an employer does a search on the internet for information. Good luck and hopefully it helps.
I looked at 4.95$ one time info plan. The dead giveaway was the dramatic slow speed artificially done. No criminal data base is slow. No private data base is slow, all public record computers are government sites and cops don't have slow databases, especially in cars.
Thank you guys. I am sorry you got all got caught. I did find that any site that says cancel whenever you want i stay away from. The reps get the job because they can aggravate anyone, "Tell me, why are leaving us, etc.
Many banks won't back you, in fact unless it's fraud and they can lose money, they are right there for you.
I read a post 179$ and going up. Why is it going up. They won't cancel or a different reason.
Thank you.
This site is terrible. It contains too many misleading links, it's like setting a trapping net. I just wanted to find out one old friend, then I got trapped of a year membership which cost me $96. I do not have that many people to search for. It was a nightmare. They finally charged me $11 for 1 search. Furthermore, the $11 search did not even have any data. No contact info, no latest information. It's worthless.
The site just trap people and steal people's money. Cannot believe it!
When teachers tell you about bull$#*! research, it's things like this worthless website. I wanted more info on a man I factually know to be a repetitive convict, drug dealer, and abuser and nothing was in his history. A clean woman I know well had a lower score. I'd rather pay for that checkmate website
Impossible to understand contact folks. Charged twice within 5 min and contact person refused to remove one charge. He was rude, impolite, not good with english language. Gave me conformation number but would not repeat the number, continued to say let him talk and then he went silent? Asked if still there and said what can he do for me, for third time asked him to turn auto renew which is set automatically if you pay a dollar for 7 day access. In my case was charged twice? Two dollars and auto renew, now have to watch closley for the auto renew on either charge? What a bunch of total crap to get out of something each month
I joined My Life looking for my sister. The site lured my in by showing her address that was 20 yrs or so old. After paying $5.95 ( I thought), the information was completely out of date.
So after approx 30 minutes, ( it took that long to finish the report), I was charged $70.40.
This a total scam. Why is company allowed to do business?
I also tried to look up myself. I don't exist.
This site is a SCAM! Stay as far away as you can! They will send you lies in to your email CLAIMING people are searching for you. They should be sued for false advertisement! Not only that but be VERY careful about buying "premium services" on their site. You think your paying $11.00 and it ends up being over $100! Also to delete accounts you have to call them you can't do it online. How ridiculous. Don't join this site. They will only disappoint you.
This company is nothing but an automatic renewal sweatshop. Do not give them any money under any circumstances. Period. They will not acknowledge that they have removed you from their automatic renewal subscription (which incidentally i never agreed to) i signed up for a one time, one incident report. Now i am being killed by them, slowly
I purchased the $1 trial for 7 days. I explicitly made sure multiple times that the "automatic renewal" was disabled on my account. Come what would have been the renewal date, I lose access to my account as I should have. However, I checked my bank statement and I was still charged $79 and change to a service I no longer had access to. So, I called MyLife directly. Apparently despite the fact they have a spelled out "disable automatic renewal" button, you need to call in order to cancel your account or it doesn't go through. I got my money back in the end but save yourself and your wallet the headache. This company is shady and underhanded.
Tried the $1 trial and next thing you know they charge me $74.95. I contacted them and they said they'd give me a refund and then charged me $14.95. So for now I lost almost $90. I will update if I'm given a refund since I've seen reviews saying they got their money back or not. This business gotta go.
Reflects information that is completely inaccurate when doing a cursory search. This is "bait" that gets the person doing the search (typically someone searching on themselves) to sign up to find out the bad news. My search shows I have a criminal history. Anyone with a criminal history already has their case available in county or state public records and they are free from the county or state websites! So this is a waste. Don't trust them. They do shoddy and unethical work. They will be done soon.
Here's how to delete your info from being listed on MyLife: "If you are not a member of MyLife and you are receiving emails you wish to opt out of, please contact Customer Care at *******900 or by email at *******@mylife.com. You can also unsubscribe from all future MyLife emails by entering your email address here. Please allow 7-10 days for your request to process."
They're actually quite fast over the phone. Be sure you have your full name, current address, and one previous address in order to remove yourself.
Answer: MyLife has a "bad reputation" for charging customers after the 7-day trial even after you cancel your membership. It's a scam site.
Answer: It's called extortion. I, too, marvel that it still exists. Where are consumer protections? Unless it is so discredited that prospective employers just ignore it. Who would pay the exorbitant price for it, anyway? It has duped a lot of people, it appears and, for that reason, it should be put out of business. I just tweaked them with an email. Let's see how low my integrity "rating" goes down with its current 4.0, which in and of itself is a joke.
Answer: Don't bother, they will not honor the request! Create your own spam filter so they are not displayed in your inbox. If you really care, forward them to the spam dept. of your ISP. If enough people do that they will die out thru attrition. They have an $800 million judgement against them and will be forced into bankruptcy soon. Problem is they just rename the site and start again in another state. Takes being chased down and prosecuted to death state by state. Such is our wonderful legal system of loop holes letting these businesses exist and operate while simultaneously being prosecuted in another jurisdiction. Makes no sense to anybody but the scam artists and state legislatures on the take $$$$
Answer: Goodluck. It's a scam this site is completely bogus as not worth a second thought
Answer: Sadly, just like a famous rock star once said: "only the good die young"
Answer: Because it's fraud and once they get your account number they just charge whatever they feel like to your account without letting you know.
Answer: You have to contact them via email and request removal. It takes a few days. Copy the URL and reference it in your email. Google: how to delete your name from MY LIFE and follow the instructions.
