I spent many years researching my family and it was a slow process. Having a computer made things much easier, better than staring at microfiche. Even then it was still slow waiting for certificates finding they were wrong. Then I gave My Heritage a try and have never looked back since. It is very straightforward forward to use and in no time I have got back several hundred years because there are several other people who are researching related families. And now with DNA I find even more people I am connected to all around the world. I would not hesitate to recommend My Heritage to anyone who is stuck in there research it will certainly help you and you never know who you may find.
So far I haven't learned much that I didn't already know. Most of the suggested links were incorrect, so it's a good thing that I already had a lot of documentation and didn't connect them to my tree. It's possible that I encountered a fairly close relative, but their account doesn't seem to be active, so that was a dead end.

I got a call my account was not renewed and would be discontinued. Well I had it wrote down as July 20th instead of June 20th. My credit card had been hacked so did not replace on my account. Thanks to the very nice gentleman that called. I was asleep so did not write his name down, about the account needed to be renewed. He even called back an hour later giving me time to check my information on My Heritage site. Thank you so much for the reminder and I renewed to up grade of Complete without OMNI. Saved me about half the price and I love My Heritage site. Thanks again for the call to remind me I was over due. I got it all straight and wrote the correct amount, date, and credit card down this time.
My only downsides are not being able to easily delete someone from my tree. Not being able to easily remove multiple of the same hints. I found my bio grandfather and obtained the information I need from family but daily I received the same hints multiple times. Not only for my grandfather but other family members too. So now I just ignore the lot. Got over 3,000 multiple hints. Also my maternal side European, lots of hints, but my paternal African, via the Caribbean NO hints whatsoever.

Ich verwende "MyHeritage-Online" nun seit über 7 Jahren und bin mit dieser Anwendung sehr zufrieden. Es treten kaum Probleme auf und bei Einmeldung von den wenigen Fehlern werden diese rasch behoben. Ich habe bisher fast 68.000 Personen im Stammbaum erfasst und arbeite laufend an der Erweiterung. Eine negative Erfahrung habe ich mit den "Record Matches" - mit Einführung des Abgleichs mit den "OldNews" bekomme ich eine Unzahl von nicht brauchbaren Matches. Ich habe bisher ca. 2000 Matches abgelehnt, da bei den Fällen nur der Name übereinstimmt, aufgrund der zeitlichen bzw. örtlichen Zuordnung die Matches abzulehnen sind. Ich habe derzeit noch ca. 2800 solcher Fälle nicht bearbeitet, da sicher über 90% davon abzulehnen sind. Bisher habe ich von der Masse der Matches erst 3 brauchbare Fälle gesehen. Ich müsste diese "Record Matches" alle einzeln ablehnen, da bei den "Record-Matches" anders als bei den "Smart Matches" keine Ablehnung für eine gesamte Quelle möglich ist. Bei Anlage von bestimmten neuen Personen bekomme ich immer wieder je Person bis zu 100 Record Matches auf einmal eingespielt, da ich weiß, dass bis auf sehr wenige Ausnahmen alles abzulehnen sind, lasse ich diese offen. Bei Personen mit bis zu 20 Record Matches lösche ich diese einzeln. Die bedeutet eine sehr großen Aufwand und ich hätte hier gerne die Möglichkeit, dass auch bei den "Record Matches" je Quelle gelöscht werden kann.
Great App and easy to use. Loyal customer over 10-12 years. The only issue is the yearly fees that are too much. I know that there is a lot of work and facilities in it but i am sure myheritage company can reduce them
Iinformation the site offers is useful and clear; my problem is that I have more information than I can organize and use properly. Even though I'm now retired, I cannot find enough time to deal with the information, so I know I have a lot of inconsistencies which should be corrected. I also am sure that better knowledge of organizing processes would help, so I'm looking for resources nearby.
So far, I have been able to find family members that I haven't previously found.

When searching someone and you put in a "Place" or "Location" such as "Newfoundland" i find ithe system shows/displays many files for other places in the world prior to showing related files for Newfoundland or the location requested

I have used MyHeritage for several years and every time I log in, I always find more interesting that I have to try or see what it is all about. This is my main program which is connected with the MyHeritage site where I can verify the information. I have some lots of consistencies but I will keep on them to make sure that the information is up to date. The only thing that I would like to change is to have the pricing in Canadian dollars which will give more funds to be able continue my research.

Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
