I like the fact that one can upload a GEDcom for free. Here are the instructions:
http://helpcenter.myheritage.com/Family-Site/Family-Tree/**************/How-do-I-upload-a-GEDCOM-file-to-my-family-site-on-MyHeritage.htm
What I didn't like is the fact that only part of my GEDcom is viewable for free. Another thing I do not like is that even though MyHeritage says they will bill you annually if you do not have a debit or credit card. But once the process is finished, MYHeritage asks you to then download the form, print it out and mail it in with your annual subscription. This is deceptive.
They charged me after my free subscription had run out, dispite the fact i just forked out over £120 quid on a premium package, before my trial had finished. I am still waiting on a email back, they also only seem to have one phone number which is really hard to find and even harder to get through to a real person. I expect i will get a responce after my 30 money back guarantee is up.

MyHeritage Team.
I was searching for a long time a good way to create a Family tree... I just started to write down notes on paper... when I try out searching on the web. After trying 2 or 3 websites (that not satisfied me since the first 10 minutes I used), I found out MyHeritage!
This was really well made, easy to use, and I liked a lot the graphic design! I liked that I could have control of everything by moving with the mouse or zoom in or zoom out over each person added etc.
Also, great support center, they try everything to help you if you can't understand something!
I'm very happy and totally satisfied! Thanks!
Very helpful staff. Thanks Kate! A great site in which to build your family tree and where you can have an A4 book produced at no cost. Recommended.
As a public member I am entitled to use, a family tree which is fantastic, as I can now keep track of all of my tree. The only thing that I cannot understand is why, I can only put on their private site, I only have 250 people. I cannot see private family trees. Which does not worry me, as I love doing the research, it is just a great rush, when you find out information, and it leads you some where else. But the paid members can not see all of my Tree, as it is not online, well guess it is their loss. I am happy with the site, as it assisted me when I was having trouble with a few issues. So public member, or paid they still help you. They are slow on the uptake, but they do get there patience is the word, with whom ever you deal with.
I have been using software by 'Family Tree Maker' and decided to also now tryout MyHeritage as an alternative way of communicating with family tree members. The feature of adding pictures makes the site so much more personal. It didn't take long and I bumped into my limit of 250 individuals even though I restricted entries to direct ancestors, my siblings and their children as well as grandchildren. The site keeps me up to date on various events so that I don't miss important dates. It would be nice if they would increase the limit of individuals before you need to upgrade to the premium version. The online help was also appreciated for their quick response to any question I had.
Following a reload of MyHeritage to a new computer I needed some assistance to make the sync function work properly. I feared all data and photos might be lost. The tech support was responsive and direct. I received understandable directions and my problem was solved with a few key strokes. The service was excellent.
I had forgotten I had two previous accounts making it so that I was unable to access the current account I wanted to use properly. The support team quickly solved the issues in a friendly and courteous manner. I was very impressed.
I had a problem accessing the site and the team were so helpful. They explained in simple terms how to delete the programme and re-install it without any loss of data - such a relief. They are also friendly and helpful and quick to respond.
Past two years I am gathering family history because I want to write a family chronicle book.
MyHeritage's Family Tree Builder is suitable for me and a year ago I upgraded the software to the Premium version. It is a great tool and it provides a lot of good features. Unfortunately, all the features are not always suitable for some regions and I have to use local search engines and data. In some cases I am limited with knowledge of language ( for example Romanian or Hungarian). In Smart Matching process there are huge numbers of matches mostly adjusted for US, Canada or UK.
Therefore, I often use other genealogy tools too, read newsletters and so on.
In the case I needed an advice of MyHeritage Support's team completely satisfied my needs.
When I had a question and needed assistance with my account, both I received a prompt and personal reply that gave me the information I needed. The customer service person who answered my phone call was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful and quickly and easily solved my problem. The site is very user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to navigate. I was pleased with all aspects of the service for my needs.
My experience with MyHeritage Family Tree Builder since over five years is great. The features I appreciate the most are the chances to publish one's tree on web, to attach plenty of photos to a person's profile and to combine the photos to other person's profiles, too. MyHeritage offers a technical support, which recently solved a problem that according to them was an issue related to an update of Internet Explorer. The support service seems to be very professional, but not very rapid.
If happened an accident to me, I deleted my trees in My Heritage. But I get very quick help and get back my trees. Now my trees are as earlier and I can work with them again.
Just a word about support: They really do get back to you and are dedicated to solving your (or their) issues. Their first level support on my first contact sort of missed the point of my question and sent me some boilerplate documentation indicated that he hadn't read my question, but after I got through to Shlomi, the responses were prompt and excellent. I even got responses early Sunday morning, and on a holiday--exceptional service!
This service is much cheaper than Ancestry.com and I find it much more functional as a tool for collaboration with other distant relatives. The 'smart match' function is a great efficiency once you get the hang of it, allowing you to share labor with others and quickly go back hundreds of years. While the software is still in beta form in many ways, the staff is very helpful in working out the kinks. It's a win-win because they help us use the software while we help improve the product. When I hit a bug, a staffer spent 45 minutes with me and we were able to overcome it. Other than that one bug, everything has been smooth sailing, and the cloud and local backups make my data safe.
Had a software problem with MyHeritage Family Tree Builder and Rafael gave me the link to where I could obtain an updated version of the software plus clear and easy to follow instructions on how to install it. The problem was immediately resolved.
I have found the Support team to be most helpful, in particular in downloading a GEDCOM tree to the Family tree builder. The team member stayed with we until I was completely satisfied the the download was successful. The FAQ' are quite helpful in managing my site.
The data sources are not complete and are rubbish! I can't even find my own birth record, my mother's birth record. Immigration records are scant also and don't return hits - whereas this information is out there! The hits I initially saw that drew me in to use the site were actually hits from a relative who had logged in and created the simple family tree (that they prompt you to do when you come to the landing page!) They then use that data manually entered to expand their hits but really its a scam. Also beware, you find out that a lot of the features and services are on tiered membership - so in order to use them you have to pay more for premium services. Overall this is just a manual family tree builder (difficult to navigate as others have mentioned) and the data records they source are not complete! Not worth the money by any means.
Contacted them via email and on Facebook to complain a link to my tree has incited me in her brothers death and used photos, one of my daughter when she was under 16, without my consent. They appear not to care about the breach of privacy and the illegal defamation of character. Steer clear.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
Dear Jim,
Thank you for posting a review here on SiteJabber for us. I would just like to clear up for you a couple of the issues that you have mentioned.
A MyHeritage family site at a Basic level has a limit of 250 people. Should your GEDCOM file be larger than this limit then only part of the file will be uploaded.
With regards to the printing of the form for payment. This only happens when you do not have a Debit or Credit card and you wish to pay via bank transfer for your subscription as there is no other physical way to charge you offline.
I trust this has proven useful.
Kind Regards,
Dean,
MyHeritage Team.
