This complaint is the worst I have deal with. KThey tell you sodmething different every time you call. This time I talked with someone in Jamaica. The last call to cancel they did not tell me that i still have one more year on the contract and this time she wants over 350 dollars to cancel. I have not gotten a straight answer at a phone call and have called at least 6 times. I tried to call corp office and they just repeat the last person said. One year now after paying monthly on something I do not have they are telling me something else.

I recently called to have them fix my outdoor camera that wasn't recording properly and my spart plug that was not turning on. Of course, the usual attempt was made to fix the issues by phone were made to no avail. This was also done a month ago and was not fixed. I asked that they come out on a Tuesday which is the only day that I would be available to wait around the house for their 4 hours which I was told was their normal time frame to arrive at your house. I called on the 13th of July and was told that the next available appointment would be August 15th. Not sure what most people would consider unacceptable but waiting for over a month to fix a problem is definitely not in my realm of "acceptable"... Unfortunately, I'll need to wait another year before I can change providers.

A True Rip Off
July 11, 2017

My system stopped working June 22. Couldn't get a technician out until JULY 19th. But... had to pay my bill ON TIME. Couldn't get out of the contract without it costing $200+.
If someone breaks in... no one would know.
I am truly disappointed and locked into a non-working alarm system.

I was asking for the Direct TV and wireless service bundle and was told I had to get AT&T Digital LIfe as part of the bundle, even though it would be billed separately. This was sold as a complete bundle, which was a total lie. It is fraud in my opinion. Then the termination period is 14 days, which wasn't mentioned to me even though I made it clear I didn't want the service. When I called at day 28, thinking it was a 30 day termination time frame, I was told the early termination fee would be somewhere around $900. This was for something I was told I had to take as part of a bundle, and I wouldn't need to actually have installed, which was another lie. The technicians came to install it, even though we said we didn't want it installed. They wouldn't leave until they had installed it. The technician and his boss set-up the password and online account so they could install it, even though it was against our wishes. Talk about being over zealous to get this crap installed in my house. This company is the worst... They SUCK! Don't do business with them. I had to escalate my issue with the early termination fee twice, never received a response and then got a call from a collection agency for the total owed at the time. It was over $600. I paid the monthly charges due of $163, and sent my escalation letter to the collection agency upon their request. After review of my escalation letter, the collection agency agreed with me and wouldn't continue collection of the early termination fee even though AT&T Digital Life insisted to the collection agency that it is a legitimate charge. Today, ATT Digital Life sent my remaining balance to a 2nd collection agency. Why don't they stop selling something as a bundle when it isn't and stop committing fraud. I think I need to contact the Better Business Bureau about them and this nonsense. I am seriously considering canceling all of my services from AT&T as a whole and go with another carrier for my wireless phone. It makes me sick to think I'm paying a company (AT&T Wireless) for service that has ties to such an awful company (AT&T Digital Life).

When we were sold our DL system, it was said to us that after 2 years we can cancel the monitoring service, but continue to use the alarm system. Meaning we would be able to activate the alarm, but we would not be getting any police called if the house was breached. After my wife cancelled the "smart security" for $39.99 the alarm stoped working all together. Once we called, and spent 40 minutes on the phone we were told that we had to pay $54.99 per month for the life of the system in order for it to work. Wow! Really!? That's $660 a year for an alarm system. Over 6 thousand dollars for 10 years? That's not what we were told when buying this system. What a rip off! Now we have a completely useless alarm system in our home. I would never recommend att for anything. It's a money grab, and an expensive one at that. We pod over $300 up front. Shame on us for not checking the competition, but shame on ATT for being such poorly managed company.

Called one week before I wanted the service cancelled and I was assured my account would be cancelled and I would receive a cancellation email once the service was terminated.

One week later, I never received an email. I tried to access my account online on a desktop and also on the app on my iPhone and both methods were unsuccessful.

So, I called again and was told the account was not cancelled because I had not agreed to the early termination fee, which was a blatant lie. I once again asked to have the account cancelled and was told that it was cancelled immediately at that very moment. I asked for a confirmation and was told that I would receive an email. And again, I did not receive an email.

Earlier today, I contacted them via the live chat on their website, as I am still not able to access my account online or via the app and was told that my account was still active and that I would have to call to cancel again.

Extremely annoyed and would never recommend the digital life service to anyone.

So bad.
Cancelled within the one week time period they give you before you're locked in. Still got charged for the first month. Managed to reverse it with them. But now months later I have a notice from a debt collector stating due to my unpaying of the bill it's now been placed with collections.
Seriously? No wonder they're not going to be around much longer.
Typing this while on hold waiting for someone in billing to answer. It's been about 15 mins so far.
Horrible!

I paid a lot of money to have four cameras installed. Most of the time they are not on real time. Today again I can not log in to see my account with the same password I have used. I have come to know that this means technical difficulties. But there is no notice from AT&T. I have had the system for seven months. I can't count the times I have been in the phone with them. When cameras are down you don't have a security system. When contact is up i will be looking for a new system.

Every 2 months you can expect poor service, no video, delayed response.

Call in to get the pat excuse " we are updating the system and all will be fine"

They are all well aware of the problems and excuse their lack of notification as if the Russians would find out when they are updating and hack their security to mess everything up.

RUN RUN fast WASTE of Money. A world CLASSLESS performance

Technician came out installed the equipment which was supposed to be $0.99. In the mail I receive a bill for $199.99. The technician failed to tell us one of the cameras costs 199.99 and just installed it anyway. I call and tell them to come and pick up the camera I was never informed of the cost. They set up an appointment to send someone out and no one shows up. I call and they tell me we don't send anyone out to pick up equipment you have to mail it. I then take it to the post office and mail it back. In the meantime I try to pay the monthly charges and they refuse to let me. They want me to pay for the camera I returned. I called every week to see if the camera has been checked in yet and they continue to tell me no. They proceed to cancel my account and I receive a bill for $900! This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my 42 years of living!

The alarm sucks, along with the customer service. If you call for a question they lie and find any way possible to send someone out so they can bill you EVEN IF they say you WONT get a charge. DO NOT GET THIS ALARM

Terrible
March 15, 2017

I used to work for Mastec Advanced Technology a contracting company for AT&T Digital Life out of the Edmond/Oklahoma City office. I would like to say first the the management was the worst, Andrew Dilling, and Brett Hicks. Also the equipment was always failing, there were always outages, and AT&T never cared about the customers they just wanted their money. I highly recommend not selecting at&t digital life..

Worst product ever
March 2, 2017

I've had the system for 2 months and it's the worst investment I've ever made I would not tell my friends, hell my enemies to purchase this system. Something that is suppose to bring piece of mind doesn't. This is the first time I've ever written a review of a product cause I give people and things the benefit of the doubt but this is horrible. Don't waste your money on this product the app is down 50% of the time and the cameras don't record half the time. Very Frustrating!

EVERYTHING about this service is a JOKE! I have had it for 8 months and I have had MULTIPLE ISSUES. It took forever to get set up correctly in the first place. After that we had a good 2-3 months of it working. It went down, I had tech come out and fix it after spending several hours on the phone with their clueless customer support. It was fixed for a week then went down again. So I let it just ride the month; no time to wait at home for their tech support to come out. Then I called again 1 month ago and spent a whopping 3.5 hours on the phone; transferred back and forth from one ignorant employee to the next. Each one made me retell the entire process; proving their obviously is no communication among team members. Finally got someone that seemed to understand my frustration, we did a 4th hard reboot of the system over the phone. It failed. So I had ANOTHER tech guy come out the next day. He was here for over an hour and assured me the system was up and working again. Boom it worked for 3 days and FAILED again.

BOTTOM LINE... AT&T Digital Life is a complete waste of your money. The website never works online, the app on your phone crashes, the camera is always offline, and the customer support is useless. As I type this, I'm currently on hold with them; for a full hour now. I will NEVER use this service again.

Love it
March 2, 2017

I've had Digitalife couple years now and have had very few problems. When I did I'd call customer service and had very good results. Always came away with the problem solved. I read all the reviews with people having so many problems. I wonder if they are from other alarm services. I'm happy with Digitalife

First of all the damn thing was always down. Usually went offline at night when you really need it most. The cameras never work because of "insufficient bandwidth" which is BS because we have 100/300 mbps TWC and normally use only two other applications 1 WiFi and 1 direct connect HDMI to my desktop computer. It was completely down for 2 months and when I called to cancel I got double screwed. I had to pay for the 2 months + plus the balance of the contract ($500 +). What a piece of $#*!. I have been totally disappointed in every AT&T service I have used other than Wireless Telephone (well c'mon its a Telephone company) and DirecTV which I had no choice in since they acquired it. I have been waiting for it to blow up ever since. Run, don't walk, and never look back from anything AT&T.

I got scammed!

I got scammed too. Never finished the installation and now they won't let me cancel. These guys are not owned by AT&T. It's a license and AT&T will soon get out of it.
