My husband had the system put in not more than a month ago. We should have been tipped off that the company was a waste when the tech told us he had driven to our home on the west coast of FL from MIAMI to do the installing! Well, the system is now not working correctly with showing a LOW battery and customer service is lacking any kind of SERVICE! We were told someone would be at the house between 4 and 7. Needless to say, no tech AND no phone call! When we called to complain about it, the service rep hung up on my husband! I guess the saying Buyer Beware applies here! We will try to cancel our service as soon as we can connect with the customer service department. Who KNOWS when that will be?
I purchased this service in Sept 2015, here are my complaints:
1. Installer was in my home all day ~ and he wasn't a happy person to be around. I didn't realize until he left the damage he did to my hardwood floors and walls
2. Was promised a $50 referral fee and I had to practically beg for it
3. Asked ATT for a replacement sensor because one fell off my front door (shortly after the install) they sent me one and then charged me $48 for it
4. Don't bother trying to call unless you have 30 minutes to be placed on hold then be talked down too from the staff
There are several other services that I will consider once I get out of my 2 year contract

I absolutely agree with one of the reviewer. AT&T was not been truthful nor upfront. They sold the product to us and I was told that I will be absolutely free to install and no fees even when we cancel. On the testing period ( within the 24 hour period) we discovered that the panel was not loud enough when door or window opened. I call AT& T right away and notified them with the concern. I was told that a lot of customers had been complaining about it so they are working on it. I told them that we should have been told up front. Now, that I am having the equipment uninstalled, they said we have to pay the restocking fee for $99 dollars. How about I charge them with my inconvenience fees and to patched the holes they created on my walls? Should not charge customers when it is the company's equipment failure.
After hours on the phone with an alarm not working the best they could do for an emergency situation was an appointment 10 days out! Unacceptable service and then want to hit me with you have to pay the break contract fee. Dispatchers do not answer the phone o e mails while you sit hours on the phone. The customer service reps were excellent, but their hands are tied. The installation was missing important components to utilize the Broadband system in the event of 3G failure. I would stay far away!
My bad I neglected my bill till the account was canceled. But what they did to us was uncalled for. Saturday close to 10pm they remotely disabled our thermostat and fixed it at 75 degrees, been in FL we went up to 81 degrees inside w a disabled thermostat. We called for help and they did not give us any. My AC broke under pressure.
Suggest to look into non contract systems that use your smartphone, you just pay for the parts
If I could post a debt dispute as a review I would. Wrongfully charged, fraudulent beyond belief, manipulative store staff, horrible customer service to say the least, bogus promotions in which do not follow through entire contract. Complete BULL$#*!.
I have been with digital life for 6 years. I had it for 2 years at the prior address I rented until I purchased my home 4 years ago, and switched my service from my rental to my owned home. So in year 5 I found out that my mom was paying for the same service i had for half of what i was paying. I called they gave me the same credit, and offered a camera. I asked several times is there a contract with this. I was told no. Well they put me in one. Camera never showed, system has crashed, app has crashed and no one will help. I'm told that they can't sent a technician to me. I will take my business elsewhere because no one will help me. I'm told to check my electrical outlet which i have a million times with 10 other reps. My outlet is fine. I'm told well my system tells me to tell you to get an electrician. My outlet is fine. Your equipment is crap! I'm paying 50 a month for the past year, for absolutely no service, and no help. I'm not going to pay for a service I do not have after calling and giving more then enough chances for them to fix it. But they DEFINITELY do not want to!
I accidentally hit the button for the fire dept and went to bed. Nothing happened... called digital life and it turns out you have to purchase a special and separate monitoring pkg. We are all ripped off, yet I am going to contact BBB and as many sources I can and be loud about it. I have no confidence that if someone broke in that I'd receive any help.
Oh hold and ran down my battery. I could not pay for the Service online, because I couldn't log into the system. Then they suspended my service and charged my a $40 fee! Talk about a Racket! Don't get their alarm service, you will be sorry!
I have been dealing with customer service since August of 2015 since the alarm was installed without success. Digital Life has been useless to me because I have not been able to set up the alarm because I have dogs and a cat all day in the house. The incompetent installer never made me aware of some of the things I needed to be aware before the installation. I am extremely dissatisfied with the poor quality of the installation. The installer drilled unnecessary holes, damaging my $700.000 home. After I contacted customer services they promised to have somebody to come to the house to look at the damaged; however, no one ever showed up to resolve the issue. I have been forced to pay for a service I do not want. I was told that if I cancel the service I am responsible to pay thousands of dollars for useless equipment.
This has been the worst experience I ever had with a company.
Went in to get my wife a new phone for mothers day. I was showed a presentation and all looked good. When they came to install everything was extra and they destroyed my house putting it in. Sloppy uneducated people install the equipment. Systemperature was in one day and I was so pissed I had them take it out. The gentleman from att that removed it told us Slomins is much more professional as they go to school and are properly trained. I was tricked into this disaster and hope I can save you the aggravation. Now I have to wait a week to have my old alarm from Slomins hooked back up 10 years I had it no problems. Live and learn, if it ain't broke don't change it.
The rep told me this was a way to reduce my mobile cost although I told them I do not need the service. He calculated all the numbers and showed them to me.
Needless to say that when the first bill came - after the 14 days allowed to cancel the service- the fees are different.
I requested a cancellation of the service and so far is hitting a wall.
It is a scam
I hate, hate, hate att digital life service it's always issues. My sensors have stopped chimming. The service controls your thermostat and I had a newborn baby in the dead of the winter and Mt thermostat would not let me adjust it over 62 degrees. Imagine my furry. Save yourself time and money don't go with att digital life. It's the worst service ever.
This company is a complete scam. Went in for an upgrade scam me to try it. Biggest mistake. They installed faulty equipment which sent out 2 false alarms to police that I was charged $250 for each time. I call to cancel and they tell me its a $600 cancelation. Scam scam scam
Do not waste your time buying AT&T Digital life home security. It is overpriced for what you get and they will lock you in for years. The equipment is not very good as compared to other similar forms of security offered by ADT and others. Here is the problem, they claim they are better because you can use any internet provider but you do not want home security based soley off the internet. An intruder who cuts your power can easily enter your home or if there is a storm and and you lose internet connection your home security will go down. Get a system that can uses a cell signal (surprising that AT&T doesn't offer this) that can trigger your home security system. ADT offers this currently but they also charge you a little bit more. The other thing AT&T doesn't have is brand recognition by the theives themselves. When a thief sees an ADT sign they recognize that as home security. I doubt an AT&T Digital Life sign is going to scare any of them off.
They are the worst in customer service follow through and follow up they are just to big and dont care about there customer, they dont listen and dont follow up. Just the worst company i have ever dealt with. They out source everything and you cannot contact them directly with any problem, all of there reviews are the worst, one review is worse than the next review. Wish i had reviewed them before i bought the product. Sorry for venting just dont want you to use the company and have the same problems
I've had the system for 2 months and it's the worst investment I've ever made I would not tell my friends, hell my enemies to purchase this system. Something that is suppose to bring piece of mind doesn't. This is the first time I've ever written a review of a product cause I give people and things the benefit of the doubt but this is horrible. Don't waste your money on this product the app is down 50% of the time and the cameras don't record half the time. Very Frustrating!
Technician came out installed the equipment which was supposed to be $0.99. In the mail I receive a bill for $199.99. The technician failed to tell us one of the cameras costs 199.99 and just installed it anyway. I call and tell them to come and pick up the camera I was never informed of the cost. They set up an appointment to send someone out and no one shows up. I call and they tell me we don't send anyone out to pick up equipment you have to mail it. I then take it to the post office and mail it back. In the meantime I try to pay the monthly charges and they refuse to let me. They want me to pay for the camera I returned. I called every week to see if the camera has been checked in yet and they continue to tell me no. They proceed to cancel my account and I receive a bill for $900! This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my 42 years of living!
Without my consent, unwarranted, this company has been calling me about alerts from an address I am not now nor have I ever been associated with. Numerous attempts to contact the company have been fruitless and I've been repeatedly told the issue resolved when it was not. This company I never consented to possessing my information has been harassing me, and I would imagine that if they are capable of being incompetent as this, they could not provide safe home security. DON'T DO IT.
Was sold this service by the burlington ma store. I asked about additional charges they said none which was not true. Asked about cancellation charges they said none again not true. Totally misrepresented the service and cost. Do not get persuaded into this because it is not what they say it is.
Answer: Let me know if you find an attorney that would like to take this Class Action. I would gladly jump on board because of the way this company treats people and by not living up to their product and contractual agreements.
