What I thought I bought is not what I got. Long waits on the telephone. Cannot get to speak to a supervisor. Have not use the system yet. Can't get any help on the telephone. Promises but no AT&T action. One department can't help because it involves the other department. I'm lost in the bureaucracy.
Disagree with the first review here, it's just wrong. I did a lot of research, and bought the ATT Digital Life service.
The ATT system comes with a several-day battery - cutting the power specifically sends out an alarm. Over ATT cell service, of course. Further, if one checks any review, and I checked many, the ATT service is much better rated than the ADT service. And why wouldn't one want a service that can be monitored and controlled from smartphone, iPad, or web browser.

I've added a couple of dimmer switches and the garage sensor and opener, and added programs with increased sophistication as ATT upgraded the options. Always an instant response when I call with a question, and a call to check what's up in less than a minute when one of my family sets off the alarm, which has been rare.]
This company is the worse, their system never works. Every since we have had the system installed we have had 5 techs come out to troubleshoot the problem only for it to go right back to not working again. When we wanted to get out of the contract, they told us it would be an early termination fee of $400.00, I was so pissed I asked the supervisor how could we be charged a termination fee for a system that does not work. Mind you they charge us a fee for every time the tech comes out. AT&T digital life is the worst company for customer service. I had a technical issue with my camera for over 5 weeks. Called serveral.time.to have them fix this. They scheduled the appointment then change it with out notification. Even when you have the confirmation for the appointment they do not care. I canceled service because of all this poor level.of service.
We have had problem from installation to cancellation. Finally our 2 year contract was over, it was a pain trying to cancel the service. IT took the installer 2 full days to install our system, i had stay home while they did the installation. It wasn't working the first week after the install, so i had to call their tech support several times. I was promised a color touch screen pad but was given a monochrome style touch pad. The pad starting flicking about a year ago, but guess what, you need to pay for the new touch pad. I paid $45 a month for the most basic service to get a peace of mind. I got upset everytime i called their support. I called in Nov to cancel my account but got a new bill 2 days ago. I called them again, and they said I didn't properly cancel the service so I had to pay for another month.
Stay away if you don't want to waste anytime with their support people.
Well we bought it in May, and after FOUR different technicians came out, one broke our router, and 3 no shows when we stayed home from work, it was installed,, the quality of the system is AWFUL.
Plus they said we would not have to pay until the system was operational, and we keep getting bills and threatening to discontinue our service.,
We have called and begged for some type of help. They all say they cant help us because of Digitalife "Policy"
There are much better home security systems, and i would avoid using these guys at all costs
I had another fine security service, and I changed to AT&T in error. When I signed up with AT&T they did not obtain a permit with my city, so they informed me that if my alarm sounded and the police had to be dispatched I would be charged. I do not feel that is right as I was not informed of that fact prior to signing up for the services. I do not feel protected, and I cannot wait until my contract expires.
HORRIBLE! We installed Digital Life due to problems with packages being stolen. The first time one is taken, I try to look at the video. The installer didn't turn it on - no video and it is MY FAULT. I paid for a service for two years and when I actually wanted to use it, I couldn't. The only thing they could say was you should review your account. We were deceived into believing we were getting their product and services at $29.99 a month and we did not know they installed the higher priced system at $39.99 a month until we received their bill! We called customer service and they told us that there was no way we can change to the lower service. They said if we cancel their services it will cost us over $600 early cancellation fees. I have nothing but problems since putting your company in my house and you still have yet to fix the problem it is your service that sucks and your equipment i should not have to keep paying for a service tech. And your supervisors do not return calls to fix the problem like they say i wish now i would have stayed with xfinity I NEVER HAD ISSUSES WITH THEIR SERVICE LIKE I DO YOURS.
Many problems experienced in 3 months since installation: poor installtion, unqualified technicians, low quality sensors, frequent system wide problems, often afrer a system software upgrade, long waiting time for support calls, unstable software causing frequent controller failure, customers are not notfied when there are system wide problems, u are locked out of your system when there is a system wide problem, expensive add ons, controller unable to keep up with the traffic.
This is good system or not we didn't know yet because I have to cancel after installed 2 days. First problem I have that is ATT retail store lie to us about promotion through where my work, second ATT digital life lie about 30 days trail free, We're told that but when we call them to cancel and uninstall they will charge you $99 for restocking fee, that is none sense because if you not install how do you try out the system? Now I lost $150 for not thing, oh I do got couple hole on my wall. Thanks to ATT and never trust you again.
Cancelled January 2017 and they are still taking money out of my bank. My bank states they cant stop the payments and I have to go onto the website. DigitalLife closed my access to the website because I cancelled. We called and they say they will stop taking it out. Its been 11 months now and they are still taking out the monthly payment even though we have been with a different company for 11 months now. Every month we call and complain. Every month we get the same results. We are being held hostage. Are there any class action lawsuits out there?
Please do NOT sign up for this service! I signed up for att digital life back in January of 2016, and moved shortly after. I called to schedule a time for my service to be transferred. They never showed up for the new install. I rescheduled the install on multiple occasions with the same frustration. I finally cancelled the service in march of 2017, because I had been paying monthly for a system that hadn't been installed. Every time I called to get the matter straight I was told that their computer system showed that it had been installed(which it had not). They finally sent my account to collections and told me that I had to pay $287.62 to cancel the services which I never received. The customer service is terrible and they will go out of their way to extort money from you! I would urge everyone that reads this to avoid this company. And if anyone from ATT management reads this... I will also be canceling my phone service after 15 yrs because of this. Shame on your company
I had my system installed June 18th and it is still not working. I have had numerous technicians out and no one has been able to fix the problem. I had ADT before and wish I had NEVER switched. I have a 2 story house and they didn't even hook up the upstairs. Now they are saying since the Digital Life installer cut the wires that ADT had installed there is nothing they can do because he ruined the connectivity. I have pleaded with Customer Service to have a Manager contact me and they refuse saying they are way too busy.
I have been ATT wireless for 5 years. So decided to shift from ADT to ATT digitial life. It offer nothing. Video Camera Power over Ethernet never worked, I cannot control or monitor my heating thermostat. I was better off with ADT.
I called within 14 days of trial period to cancel the service, I was told technician will come to fix it (or) cancel it. But their technician changed appointment date. Now I am out of 14 days trail period and stuck with their Digitial Life. Service.

I just want to change my review rating from a 2 to a 10 now that I have recieved my new unit and have talked to several ppl over the phone with their company. I had a lady call me personally to try and fix any problems that I went thru and they even credited my bill for the time I was down! They really went above and beyond to get any problem resolved so far! We are still working and trying new things with the cellular serv because I am no getting a good reception inside my home. But ATT Digital Life is a fine company to deal with! I am staying with them as long as I'm alive because they are cheaper and better than any other provider that I have talked with and tried to deal with! So yes thank you ATT Digital Life for your help and I appologize for jumping the gun and not getting ahold of the right ppl to deal with! You have made me again a proud and happy customer!
I have had this service for years, and recently they had to send a technician out for all of my devices going offline. I tried to troubleshoot with the representative, but I kept telling her I was not seeing the device where she was saying it was. She said she would send someone but there could be a fee involved. I told her upfront I was not willing to pay a fee when I have a real technical issue that can't be resolved on the phone. The technician came out and could not locate the equipment either, we finally found it in the 2nd floor hallway when it was labeled by the installer as being in my living room. It took him over two hours to fix all the issues, and he let me know that I would not of been able to fix issue over the phone since almost all of my devices were offline and I should not occur charges for the visit. I was still charged the $100 and customer service refused to help me with the issue, refused to contact the technician or the third-party company he works for, and implied that I was not being truthful. Luckily I had the technicians cell phone number from when he called to confirm. I called him, he agreed it was all a mistake and now he is working to try and get it correct for me. He DOES NOT work for Digital Life, but he is willing to try and get this fixed. Also the supervisor and Digital Life was not helpful or polite, but she was willing to cancel my service if I would like? REALLY? This is the type of service you offer? I am shopping for a new provider!
They hit me with a $200 new charge on my bill in addition to monthly fee that I never agreed to. I have called them 20 times with long hold times HOURS and HOURS and it is still unresolved! I am fed up with their customer service!
I love AT&T Digital Life sometimes there are glitches in the system but once I call and explain things to them I get my issue resolved. Some of these comments are not true if you call a company why will you behave harsh with the reps deal with them calm and they will treat you nice. Hold time is length but we got to understand that customers do call in regular for various reasons. I love the fact that I don't have to pay to move my service and I get new device unlike ADT who charge over 300 dollars to move. And I would like if AT&T change there technicians they don't work for the company they work against the company they are so sloppy they make the Comany look bad. I love AT&T Retention and move, and the Technical support dept. Good job.
Answer: Let me know if you find an attorney that would like to take this Class Action. I would gladly jump on board because of the way this company treats people and by not living up to their product and contractual agreements.
