Too expensive, does not work, lousy service.
Paid off a large balance just to get rid of the headache of monthly paper statements, which I might add, was always on time and with the correct not earned charges for their lousy service.
I cant even began to tell you from contacts falling off and triggering false alarms and the police coming and charging me $99 for each trip,(yes it happened twice in the same month)
To AT&T telling me "we will take care of those false alarms changes " December 2014
Today they tell me that most likely those charges will have to be paid by me because i requested the police to sent out. So those charges are on me... what am i paying for?
A noise maker
Inherited the service and it seemed to work ok but if you need customer service be prepared for over an hour wait (literally, over 60 minutes!) to get through to (ironically named) retention department. And they won't/can't help you via online chat, online site or in store. You're screwed.
I really love the Digital Life equipment, but the customer service is horrible. You can never get a representative on the phone. It takes 60 minutes of listening to the same message over and over. The website is useless. It needs to be revamped. It is only for new customers, no support for existing customers. I'm considering going back to ADT after this contract ends! AT&T doesn't care about existing customers, offer no discounts to add on equipment at all. I'm totally over them!
I've had Digitalife couple years now and have had very few problems. When I did I'd call customer service and had very good results. Always came away with the problem solved. I read all the reviews with people having so many problems. I wonder if they are from other alarm services. I'm happy with Digitalife
AT& T are the communication people. I have them for all my services, including Alarm with Digital Life, cell phone, home phone, DSL, U-Verse, etc. My only complaint is Digital Life in that it is having problems alarming my shed door. Why that one is malfunctioning I don't know. However I had Bright house a Cable Alarm Company and they sucked, ADT was good, but AT&T is the latest and best to me. They are innovative, however, this one problem almost made me give them the boot and go back to ADT. Fix it AT&T, what is wrong with your people? Also some of your people have no idea what is going on and that bugs the hell out of me. Usually the night shift. Mostly morons. Some should be fired for the bull$#*! they say to me. I am keeping it all logged in. Their techs are 99% great, but they have issues on equipment. My shed has valuable things in it and they said well we can't alarm it, its too far away from house. I said, ADT alarmed it? Why not you guys?
Worst alarm/camera/service company around. I am counting down the months until I can cancel the service. Accessing the app and online portal-circle of waiting for a connection to access settings and footage. The customer service people are nice enough--I have complained and complained about downloading videos; recording of the videos (too many clips) and asked for another camera install free of charge. They declined. My local city police department requested footage from my camera after some kiddo ditched their parents car right in front of my house, and the camera did not even pick up the footage. Lol. I asked for an additional camera and install, he told me he would do that for me at a discounted rate. Really?!?! Don't make the same mistake I did! I give ATT half of my paycheck every month and it seems like the only thing that works is my IPhone.
Everything I was told when signing up for this service was false! Now they want to charge me $500 because I moved out of state when they were told specifically what my time frame and plans were upfront. This company doesn't care about customers and being honest. They lie outright to you. I would never recommend them or use them even if they were the only company available. Wish I could give them a -10.
I have been with them four months now. I am trying to get out of the contract! Nothing they said was true. The cost is 25 percent higher than advertised. It was not compatible with any of my existing equipment. It requires internet usage. The camera system is not as good as my free monthly night owl system I had. They charged me over $600 for equipment and installation and the cheapest monthly plan they will give me is $50. 00. 11/20/2014
To be fair, I like the convenience of accessing the system using your smartphone, but the hassle of dealing with these rude customer service representatives. The $39.99 per month is reasonable but, I can't tolerate people who a rude, difficult to understand & generally unhelpful. Presently Looking for another provider.
We have waited on hold up to two hours to disconnect service. Then they told us they would disconnect service per our request after fighting with them for one hour. We were then informed they didn't actually cancel the service. They didn't send us a confirmation e-mail, even though they said they would. Service never worked well when we h.ad it. The cameras didn't take pictures until the person had already walked past them. Modems are very weak, and ineffective at keeping the system operating. They never call you or notify you when your system isn't working. Rudest customer service reps I've ever spoken to with any company. Also, clearly not in the U.S. Very hard to understand.
I've just had it with AT&T Digital Life. They have the worst customer service! To get to a live person, the wait is at least 15 mins no matter what time of the day the call is made. I made a call to resolve my account balance, spoke to 3 different reps, each time, each one of them would put on hold for 5 mins, and then get back to me and said, "I'm sorry. I just spoke with my supervisor, and she said this our company policy... blah... blah. Blah". So, I said, "let me talk to your supervisor"... customer rep puts me on hold for another 5 mins..."I'm sorry, unfortunately, my supervisor is on a another call." How convenient was that. I've been on the phone with Digital Life for 30 mins and each time I'm told my supervisor said this or that... but when I asked to talk to her... she's conveniently on the phone! Of course, I cancelled my service!
Total waste of money and no peace of mind. There has to be something consumers can do. They charge you for one thing and you don't receive it. I hate there is a 2 year contract for the service. Plus you have to pay a $99 service fee for them to come out to fix anything. Please sign me up for the class action suit!
I don't typically write reviews. However, I've been terribly disappointed with the service. My system is continuously going down and when I call for service i run into long waits and terrible service. Our system has been off line for a couple months and after multiple calls, we cannot get any help. As soon as I can get out of my contract I will be on my way and will be taking my other services with me as well.
I have had three technicians come out here and they were late 2 out of 3 times and were here until at least 10:30 pm. The 4th time they assured me it was working and now I'm waiting on the technician again. They won't let me cancel without a $200 cancellation fee and promised a month of free service and NEVER gave it to me. I have U-Verse and love it but do not like the digital life service. Do not get it!
My dealing with ATT Digital Life has been positive. I went to a local ATT store in Merrick. LaMar Gilmore, the Salesmanager was on top of his game and flexible with options on special. Devices had point ratings and you could trade around sensor and monitor quantities etc. Install Tech showed on time, installation went smoothly. He briefed me on system, been a week with no false alarms. Got the cellular option with wireless system. Just do your research and know what you want up front to get the best deals, add ons at Installation time can be costly vice making the deals and specials upfront. Set the alarm off once and they called immediately going down contacts as set up. I didn’t pick up until last contact just to see operation. Hope this helps anyone out there.

Cancelled within the one week time period they give you before you're locked in. Still got charged for the first month. Managed to reverse it with them. But now months later I have a notice from a debt collector stating due to my unpaying of the bill it's now been placed with collections.
Seriously? No wonder they're not going to be around much longer.
Typing this while on hold waiting for someone in billing to answer. It's been about 15 mins so far.

Still furious. Have not installed it, cannot get a hold of any reps to ask questions, placed on hold for@ 30 minutes before anybody came on, only to find out that all our info is incorrect and informed me they couldn't do anything since I couldn't guess the ss# the store rep used on our account wth!
I typically never take the time to write reviews — too much effort, but wanted to share given how awful it's been. If limited to one word to describe ATT DIgital Life: Pathetic. Service is awful…long waits on hold. Nobody returns phone call. Sometimes they call all the numbers when an alarm goes off…sometimes they don't. Repeater has been offline at least 5 times in my house and they can never seem to fix it. Service reps don't arrive on time, and they don't call. Nobody seems to really care…it's as if they realize it's a horrible product & service and nothing ever gets fixed. My family will cancel the first day we're able, and we'll toss uVerse over the side as well given this horrible experience.
I signed up for a 1 year "package" with U-Verse that included an alarm system. Well apparently Digital Life only does 2 year contracts... so when the year was up and I wanted to cancel (because the service is terrible) they said oh that would be $373 for early cancellation. I was never notified of this 2 year contract and on top of that, the security system was terrible. When it was offline. Sometimes I wouldn't get a call for a few days. It didn't detect anything well. And our motion sensor did not work. Please go to someone else.
I ended up going with Central Security which included a touch screen keypad, smoke detectors, and glass break sensors and pay the same price per month at my new home.
Do not give them your money.
Answer: Let me know if you find an attorney that would like to take this Class Action. I would gladly jump on board because of the way this company treats people and by not living up to their product and contractual agreements.
