So-called "support" are all robots even though they "say" you're talking a human. Took me 7 days to get ACTIVATION and I STILL can't receive phone calls. I've spent hours and hours trying to get the multiple issues resolved, they even brought me to tears. Run run away from Mint Mobile!
Mint Mobile has been a nightmare for the 2 weeks that I've had them. To give some background on my situation, I lost my phone over the weekend and have been trying to sort things out by ordering a replacement sim. Initially I ordered a new phone + a new 12 month plan and then contacted customer service to ask if I'll be able to transfer my old number to the new plan. The customer service rep I spoke to was not helpful at all, stating that they can't help me and provided no useful alternatives. Before finishing answering all my questions, the rep made closing statement and said goodbye. I later received an email stating that my new phone + 12 month service plan I ordered was refunded even though that was NOT what I was trying to do. Well if they don't want my business that's perfectly fine because they have horrible service. If you have to contact customer service, good luck because their staff appears to be very inadequately trained as they are all incompetent. Their chat service on their website is also horrendous. You will literally spend hours on there just trying to connect with someone. For some reason the chat will randomly time out even as you're waiting in the queue and every time the chat closes you have to refresh/reopen it and start all over again. Worst customer service I've ever experienced and that's saying something.
At first Mint seemed good but then I started to get dropped calls and calls not even connecting. I ended up having to get new service because their service was so unreliable. I paid for a 3 month plan and a few days after I paid for the plan I got my new phone and new service working, so I tried to get a refund from Mint. Their chat representative said I could but I had to go through my bank to get reimbursed because the couldnt do it. I disputed the charge with my bank but they said they couldn't do that. I called Mint and back and told them, they said I needed to go back through my bank. Nothing but a big run around. Bad service in more ways than one. I wouldn't recommend them if you can help it.
They couldn't install esim on an iPhone 13. They tried twice, then I requested a physical sim. When it arrived it wouldn't work, invalid authentication code. By now 9 days passed. They figured out what to activate and I finally had service, it lasted 2.5 days. Service then cut out, the claimed it was a local outage, not true. A family member lived 2 miles from my house, and they had service. So, I canceled service and requested a refund... They denied my refund due to being past the 7-day trial period. I never got the service activated until they figured out how to provide me with cellular service.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
My phone was stolen. I am 8 days into trying to get a replacement, still with no luck. The CS reps are both incompetent and directly lie.
- I called and was told a replacement SIM was being sent to me. It was never ordered.
- I tried to activate the SIM that came with the new phone that I ordered online. They told me they would activate it within hours. Lie. They didn't... and never called me to tell me that they didn't.
- I ordered a replacement SIM myself. I couldn't activate myself, because... they texted me a confirmation code to the replacement SIM phone number LOL!
- I created a ticket. Another 24 hours to wait. Rep told me it's "expedited". It wasn't - I checked with another rep later in the day, and they had no idea what that means. Lies.
Who knows if I'll ever have service again. All I know is that the team
Do not go with mint mobile they are the worst with customer service is one of the worst they do not care about anything other than making money and lining their pockets while you're suffering not able to make phone calls or get texts or calls their SIM cards are defective and they are not workable
Mint Mobile is hands down the most disorganized customer service system I've ever experienced. Clearly they require prepayment because once you activate you're gonna want out quickly.
Customer service is HORRIBLE. No one actually listens, u have to cut them off from their pre-scripted platitudes to get a word in edgewise. The are uneducated about their product and internal systems. I went 16 days without service when switching to them. They gave my imported number to another customer. I spent 46 hrs on the phone with 20+ reps and 5 supervisors over 2 weeks just to get my new phone activated and the other customer OFF my account. I decided NOT to go through that on the other 2 lines I prepaid for so I got burned for 2 lines prepaid for 3 months without a refund.
SWITCHING BACK TO OLD CARRIER ASAP
I assure you will regret your purchase
I switched from Tracfone to Mint and that was one of the biggest mistakes I've made in the last year., Mint is junk. They have no coverage where I am and you can't reach customer service to talk to anybody. It took me over 3 days to get them to switch my phone # back and I cannot get a full refund for my 3 months of service. You have to really hunt to find a phone # to use to call them an then, they want you to be on Mint to get your phone transferred back toi where it came from when you switched to Mint.
STAY AWAY FROM MINT!
13 minutes was the fastest time it took to connect to Google or any other site. So.etimes my texts even take 4 to 5 minutes to go through.
I read that Mint takes away and gives a little to all users depending on how many users are trying to connect at that time of day.
The best time to connect anywhere is around 1am when use is down.
If I had know this beforehand I would NOT HAVE EVER GOTTEN MINT.
I already got another phone. One from Walmart a cheap one witere you buy a card to reload each month. It's working 100% better than the Mint
《BEWARE》
I tried to transfer our service on 2 phones to TMobile. They are still trying to release the phones it's been over 48hrs---Mint ported our phone numbers to TMobile and cut our service- but didn't unlock the phones We have been without cell service for 2 days. Mint claims it can take up to 72hrs to release the hold on our already paid in full phones! Why! Why would they cut off service or transfer the lines prior to releasing the hold on the phone. I have a family member who has significant medical needs and has appts today and I needed a cell phone but they don't seem to care.
Please, don't buy anything from them! They can stole your money from your bank account!
They did that to me! If you want have a horrible service and an unprepared customer service, go ahead!
I've had terrible experience with this company. I started with transferring 2 lines but needed to disconnect one. Instead, they disconnected my main line as well even after numerous chats and calls to make sure that does not happen. I had customers call and receive a message that the phone number was disconnected hence losing some business.
The customer support line was hard to get through with over an hour of wait time in the beginning. Now, you cannot get through at all. The reps are out of the U.S. and poorly trained. There's a mutual difficulty communicating - understanding them and getting them to comprehend what you're trying to say and no clue what needs to be done.
Although they advertise $15 plans, that's just the hook for the first 3 months, plus-plus. What's more, there're always additional costs and fees, e.g. administrative recovery fee (?) with each payment. Why are we paying for their admin fees is beyond me.
I'll have to look for another legitimate company and go through the hassle of switching again, though I've read in another review that they lock your phone when you try to leave. Sorry to have fallen for this illegitimate company with their phony advertising.
I'm an uber driver and lost connection right in the middle of a huge day. Missed out on probably about 200$ worth of earnings due to Mint Mobile. Would not recommend their service.
Nothing gets done! I called and texted. Had two separate case numbers and the Reps you deal with can't do anything but waste your time! Biggest Mistake I've made… trying to switch!
Stick with who ever you have.
Constantly freezing. Have to shut down apps numerous times. Half the time I can't even get my email to open. Never had such bad service.
Not worth the aggravation.
Wanted to thank Mint n let it be known that I had a horrible experience with my sim card(not Mint's fault.) All good now. I panicked but they helped me through it.
Been with mint for a long time but after requesting unlocked code the Filipina customer service asking for my order number how would I remember that? Hello it's been 3 years
Decent inexpensive service until I went abroad. A planned trip to Italy prompted me to add $20 to my account to cover roaming charges. While in Italy I could not roam at all. Four calls to four different morons reading from scripts solved nothing. One had me clear my internet history so I lost all my Wifi and Bluetooth connections to places I work, visit, friends' homes, etc. One had me switch the airplane mode on and off which had the result of disconnecting us immediately. No service for 10 days other than Wifi in hotels. Upon returning I spent another 2 hours on the phone just trying to get my $20 back which they denied. The company's customer service is pure gamesmanship. I think they want to see how long I would stay on the line as they put me on hold six times to check with their adviser, then come back online and repeat the entire conversation back to me.
I am paid in full for the year but am looking at other companies to switch to. Here's the message I received after they told me I would receive the $20 back. Made-up nonsense.
Hello there! Mint Customer Resolution Team here.
Upon further review, we found that we are unable to process your refund since it was it was already 5 days outside of the refund policy.
Therefore, your request has been denied.
Long story short… I'm 60 years old and finally found a need for a cell phone. I won't use it much so I decided to go with the cheapest plan possible which is $15 a month from mint mobile. I purchased a phone and a one year plan from them, could not connect the phone to their network, got pissed off and returned the phone. Apparently at some point I put in a lock code for the screen which I do not recall doing and now they won't refund my money. $531 down the drain and mint mobile won't even return email requests. I'm looking for a lawyer to sue them, which would also be my first lawsuit, so if anyone knows any good lawyers for such a case… Feel free to pass the information on, lol!
Customer service is via a chat bot or phone call only. Just plan on spending a lot of time on hold while you wait for a representative to look up your case to give you an update… Every time you call them when they haven't called you back! Mint sucks… Ryan Reynolds sucks… I hope he made enough money on it before they sold out to T-Mobile!
I am in Mexico. I bought international roaming credit with mint mobil to use when I do not have access to wifi. I have been with them for about 4 years. It had been working fine. Yesterday I received an email from mint mobile stating that my international roaming credit was now moved to my wallet and it gave some options for some ridiculously expensive international plans. Today my roaming no longer works. I spoke with a supervisor who said i need to buy a plan. 1 week is $40 and i am here for 2.5 more months. So...no. This number is connected to my business and now i am stranded without data. My only option to get a mex sim card but that will be a diff# thus affecting my business as well as then having to notify all contacts of my new number. They did this with no notice whatsoever! And the international roaming credit i bought can only be used to pay my bill or buy into this new plan. I cannot even use what I already bought! And again, no notice! On average i was using $20 a month of data and now they say it is $40 a week or $10 a day. I could get no help whatsoever from them. Do NOT use this service if you plan to travel. The no notice for such a big change is unacceptable!
Answer: NO, NO, NO! They have limited hours, even for "chat help". If and when you get ahold of someone, they're inconsistent, inconsiderate, robotic, and they have no record of your previous attempts to get resolution! They make you start all over from the beginning each and every time. Plus, they LIE to you when they say it's "all taken care of."
Answer: If they're legit, I'd like to see them prove it. No brick & mortar, mostly robots and simps for support. No wonder Ryan Reynolds took the money and ran!
Answer: Yes us mobile is better if u can use CDMA type phone on the Verizon system it is faster although it is nothing to jump up and down about it is better.
