After I refused to pay twice for an item that the company actually owed me a refund for overpayment, they turned me over to a collection agency and to the credit bureau. After explaining my situation to both the collection agency and the credit bureau, the collection agency wrote me a letter informing me that I had provided an adequate explanation with the proper documentation and that they were satisfied and closed my case. The credit bureau sent me a letter informing me that they had removed the issue from my credit report.
I started with MIdnight Velvet about 15 years ago and I do like their products I have bought from clothes, shoes, household items. I just bought the Rush Hour Shoes and let me tell you they feel great on my feet and I got about 5 compliments from the men in my office. I would buy again, and again, and again. Hurrraaayyy!
I didn't ask for the catalog. I tried to cancel on the phone but was put on hold and then disconnected. Not a good policy. Right to the trash from now on.
Every dress I have bought I have been happy with. They fit well and quality is great. I definately get compliments when buying their clothes and actually sandals as well. I am very surprised at this low rating
I have been told by midnight velvet that I am a gold member for my on time payments. With all of the crazy things going on now. I was late by just 7 days paying my bill. They hit me hard, screwed up my credit everything but never sent me anything about this! Now my credit is screwed up. I paid it one week after the due date because I got an email saying I needed to make a down payment on an order. I had no idea what was wrong! Spent hours on the phone with them, over and over again. Called passing the buck! I am very upset that they treat what they said " a GOLD MEMBER" like this with no warning at all. Well, they are losing this gold member. I don't owe them much and going to pay them off and that is the end of it! They treated me very badly. I will give my money to another who will appreciate it. This was the first time I was late in years!
I have been shopping with this store for years. They play a trick by advertising an item at a real cheap price which coaxes you into opening an account in order to purchase the item. Then; once you put the item into the cart they jack-up the price much higher. Pretty clever... but I caught on to this trick. Shame on you Midnight Velvet.
Dont change address online cause if you place an order after adding new address they will open a new acct. I didn't authorize It they did an inquiry on my credit and my score went down. I called them they said there was nothing they could do that it happens. I will never order from them again. I'm going to report to BBB.
L received a sweater l did not order. L have no account with this company. L can get no one on the phone. What gives?
I have been buying from Midnight Velvet for a few yrs now. First off I want to say those that complained about then I just don't understand. They have always been very very pleasant to me and I have found their clothes and other items to be of great quality. I have returned only 2 things to them and they credited my account right away. Never have I had anyone of their representatives to be rude to me and have been very pleased with them completely. I just placed my second Christmas order and Elizabeth was extremely pleasant and even went out of her way to tell me about some wonderful sales items that were on sale. Yes I ordered what was on sale. We had a delightful conversation and she wished me a Merry Christmas. They have all been very pleasant with me and helped me when I asked questions. I give them a 5 star rating. I will always order from them.
Of three Item that were returned 2 were to be replaced, but after calling customer service, I learned that no items had been replaced. The customer service rep supposedly was going to correct the error, which took nearly an hr, with no solution because the credit for all the items that was scheduled to appear on my account was thirty dollars short of the initial price due to there "restocking fee." Long story short, I ended up closing my Midnight Velvet Account primarily because they did not accept responsibility for their error. Of three customer service reps, whom I spoke with, one a mature African American female was very courteous & attempted to be helpful, but the other two... Instead of a replacement order, one had created a "new" order which required credit approval although the initial order had been previously approved & mailed too me... but as stated, returned to get different sizes for 2 of the items, and I decided to get a similar item in place of the third item, a duster, which was twenty dollars more than the initial one, and could have been deducted from my account; but by creating a new Order, there was going to be additional charge of twenty dollars for shipping. Trying to get everything corrected
Was like getting a law passed in Congress. So, I declined... The mature female conducted herself the way an employee should provide service- because she realizes without consumers, there will be no business.
In early November i got notified of an account being open with my credit. I contacted Midnight Velvet about the issue. They stated i do not have an account with them. On November 13th, 2019. I received an email that my order was on its way. I was devasted, because i did not order anything from them and i never apply for credit with them. Nevertheless, turns out that my neighbor had purchased the items. How Midnight Velvet got my ss# is beyond me. Moreover, the order had my first name, but my neighbor's last name. As well as the same address, but different apartment number. According to her she contacted them and they said they had alot of new employees. What? What that have to do with me, and how the hell when they ran my credit they did not see the information was not matching up? Then i did a review and they delete it. So, i have attatched the image of what occured after i had submitted my review. I encourage others to be watchful of their credit and scammers!

My mother opened an account with them and was given a $100 limit. She bought some luggage and made her payments promptly until she fell and broke her hip. Then the badgering and threatening letters started. She only owed them another $20. I contacted them... spoke to a representative... explained the situation... and was told pay up! When my mom got home... she called them. They kept her on hold for 15 minutes and was told her bill had almost doubled because she was late. She was given an amount... she sent it in... and now is being hounded for additional money. This company is worse than scammers.
Most things on this site are over priced and cheaply made. They are together with country door and seventh Avenue. The more you spend the more they charge for delivery. That's absurd! Stay away! Go to Wayfair. They have EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND FREE DELIVERY! Trust me
I purchased 2 pair of shoes from them they are very comfortable and I have not had a problem with them
I ordered several pieces from them which one item looked really cheap however I ordered it. Unless you're ordering something and spending money with them, they have ZERO time to hear you out! VERY POOR with the Public.
Midnight Velvet has beautiful products but the quality of the products are of poor quality. I have thrown away a pair of shoes and a 4 tier stand. The quality was not of good material. Sorry, I will not do business with them any more. Dissatisfied Customer.
I have ordered at least six outfits from this company in the past three months. All were sent back except one. The quality of items were poor. One item was not sewn correctly and it was puckered at the bottom. I will never order anything from them again. Very disappointed as the catalog comes so often and the clothing looks good in the catalog. Beware of this company.
I have never purchased anything from them but after reading all the reviews. This is why I can make a review. When you are a business owner, being one myself you should have someone to respond to anything written about you positive or negative but especially negative. By not saying anything it just like everything the are saying is the true. If it is true then that when you are suppose to be your most vocal. You have had years to make your wrongs right contact these customers by email, phone or mail and offer to fix the mistake even a free $25.00 gift or something. Because of that reason that is the main I would let my family, friends or employees shop from your catalogs. My husband and I have only 2 people that respond to any complaint or anything that's my son and myself, without customers we won't exist and all business owners better remember that we do everyday. Change so of your old practices and you will be ok.
Answer: Almost impossible. They sent an incorrect size to me in error. I tried calling for days, only to receive a message saying the call volume was large and to call again. The phone hung up without additional options. I then tried emailing through the 'contact us' on the website. I received an automated reply 2 days later with a 'sorry for the inconvenience, would you like to exchange or return'. No reply after I answered and no answer on the phone. I still have the incorrect size they mailed out and no response to my request to be called by someone in management. I'm REALLY disappointed with this company and would never buy from them again.
