I purchased maytag products to be sure I supported the USA... the refrigerator ice maker sprays ice everywhere even though it is set to cubes. We have to keep a folded dish rag by the dispenser as it will also "poop" out an actual ice cube at random! The dish rag seems to catch it... the stove is a piece of crap! After the first couple of uses, the ceramic top is scratched. Cleaned the oven the other day using the steam clean and it took me 4 hours to steam clean and scrub... if I wanted that kind of appliance, I would have bought a stove from Menards along with a can of oven cleaner... NO CUSTOMER SERVICE EITHER.

We've always bought Maytag and they've lasted 10yrs or more. When i saw pet pro washer/dryer I considered them since we now have 2 pets. Since I don't need to buy now I am going to think about it more but I'll still buy Maytag.

My maytag combination gas/convection range is an inferior product. The aquafor cleaning system does not work and you must manually clean with baking soda and a lot of work. Additionally as I was preheating the convection to 375 degrees at 275 degrees the interior of the oven door (glass) splintered into thousands of pieces. In talking to customer service and a supervisor, a three year old pricey range is not waranteed for a splintering glass oven door -talk about pride in a product. I've decided to scrap it rather than repair as the next thing that it blows up might be my house and me.

Don't buy a Maytag or Whirlpool appliance unless you're masochistic!

Very low quality

Our family, grandparents, mom & dad myself and my 4 children have all used Maytag appliances for years and they have been very dependable.
I purchased a Maytag package washing machine Model MVWP475EWO and matching dryer both appliances have had many problems and issues that the certified Maytag technician could not resolve. Near the same time we purchased a refrigerator, stove and microwave package from Lowe's the refrigerator and stove also have issues. We as a family including my 4 children have decided not to purchase any appliances from Maytag-Whirlpool anymore and cannot recommend them to anyone else.

What happened to Maytag?
October 21, 2023

Bought Maytag washer and dryer in 2023. Returned both within the first 30 hours. The engineering on the washer is bad. On heavy duty setting the cycle took 2 1/2 hours. The water fill takes 20 minutes, it will add water for 5-10 secs then agitate for 5-10secs for 20 mins! Wash cycle takes 33mins and turns off and on continuously. Rinse takes 63 mins and cycles off and on. One load took 2.34 hours! Ain"t nobody got time for that. They're out of here.

If you want a washer (Bravos xl) that's 4 years old and you keep having issues with the same part but Maytag wants to charge you $140 for someone to come out and wants you to pay for the part they just replaced a 1 1/2 ago. Go for it! I wouldn't

This the Model MVWX655DW0 washing machine. Problems from Day 1. Never enough water to properly wash the clothes. Very noisy. Rough and abusive on laundry items. Could not get the machine leveled; had to secure it to keep it from skating across the floor. After seven years the motor drive finally went. Even with the 10-year Warranty, only parts are covered. I see this costing us at least a couple of hundred dollars to fix, so we decided to send it where it belongs; the junk pile. What a shame that Maytag, once a titan in the appliance industry, has sold out and become a third rate manufacturer. OOHH, one more thing. The washer always stunk. Even with the Afresh cleaning tabs, then, vinegar/baking soda, we could not get the smell out. Called Maytag and was told we could call a technician and have it cleaned, for about $300.00. Terrible customer service; Rude representative. I used to own a Maytag Washer/Dryer set which performed flawlessly for years. Unfortunately, those days are gone.

Unhappy customer

I bought a new set of Bravos xl washer and dryer. After 3 yrs the motherboard went out on the washer. I bought the extended warranty so no prob.Two and one half years later the motherboard went out again.
Maytag quoted me $125 for service call. The part was around $500 so with the service call would have been $650 I opted for a new machine $579.00 at Lowes with delivery and tax$ 875.00. The machine was 5 1/2 years old. The service guy said well on old machines like yours you expect problems. The Maytag commercials shows the service guy sitting around the office because Maytags don't break down. The first maytag I bought in 1976 lasted about 20 years with no service. I guess they figured they weren't making enough money. I am utterly disappointed in maytag.

Maytag warranty

Maytag is pure junk, there helping a customer is downright embarrassing, the initial company where I purchased the washer was willing to offset some bills after my washer went after 2 years, my fault I didn't get the extended warranty but in actuality should my washer went in 2 years probably not, the dealership that sold me went to Maytag to ask if we could purchase a warranty and they downright said no, last time buyer here for Maytag

My washer is not even 2 years old. It does not complete a cycle, leaks and turns on when not running! Flashes different error codes all the time. Customer service line takes 15 mins of automated message before you are placed on HOLD to speak with someone. The service call is hundreds of dollars or you are forced to purchase an extended warranty that is a monthly fee for a year! Those technicians are not sitting around... Can NOT get a repair appointment for a month. DO NOT PURCHASE MAYTAG WASHER. JUNK. I would like to give them a NO STAR RATING!

Recently had a washer serviced due to sensors malfunction. Washer is only 2.5 years old. Not old enough for major service.
When calling for service, I waited on hold for over 10 minutes each time. (one time I called and at the call director I selected SALES not service and got right through).
Took over a week to an "appointment" for service on site. When calling checking for time of day all I would get was a standard recorded message after my 10 minute hold.
I bought Maytag because of the reputation. Reputation is bad and I am redoing entire kitchen and will not buy any Maytag products
Service person was very good.
They quoted me $149.95. Cost was almost $210. I saw the part. PRICE GOUGHING. I am in service industry and do onsite service. I know what things cost. Job took much less than hour.
I HAVE HAD WASHERS FOR OVER 20 YEARS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE ANY SERVICE.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
January 8, 2023

I got a dryer from Home Depot in august. We are having problems with it drying. I have sent emails. Tried to chat. Called over and over. Went into Home Depot to talk to them about it and of course they direct me back to Maytag who does not answer the phones EVER. Does not respond to emails. REGRET EVER BUYING A MAYTAG PRODUCT. Never again!

Heads up, everyone! My mom bought a defective Maytag washer from Lowe's in November 2022! On October 6,2023, it started a wash cycle by itself and flooded her home causing $15,000+ damage. See attached pictures. Homeowner's insurance covered the damage, but Maytag will not stand behind the product nor will they honor the refund warranty. LOOK AT THE DAMAGE. CONSIDER THIS AND THE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE BUYING FROM THEM! Just a little FYI!

Purchased a maytag washer in March 2021, bought extended warranty thankfully. Have had to use warranty 7 times already and today makes number 8. It has been the same issue all 8 times. I do not know if it's incompetence from the service person or if we just have a faulty washer, but leaning towards the faulty washer at this point. Called the whirlpool corporation on the advice of service department to try to have it replaced, was told they didn't have any info of us buying it, even though we filled out and mailed in all forms that came with the machine. Was told the best they could do is send a service person that I would have to pay for out of my pocket, instead of the extended warranty company paying for it, or give us a discount if we purchase a new one within 30 days. Either option is quite ridiculous considering all the problems we've had with the washer that we purchased brand new, and paid a considerable amount for it and more for the extended warranty. So...if you want a faulty washer that needs fixed more than it gets used, maytag is the way to go. If you want a decent dependable washer, DO NOT BUY A MAYTAG! Thank you, and good luck. Ps...only gave 1 star because it would not allow me to leave zero stars

I would Rate my latest $1000 Maytag Washer Purchase a Zero if I could. 7 months after purchase on 2nd Washer and it has broken down as well. Maytag has a record of my issues with this purchase and have not provided a satisfactory solution for my issue. In the second service call to find out they have no idea how long a replacement part can be obtained. I ask you how long do you like to be without your $1K washing machine. I'm on week 2 and no end in site. DO NOT BUY FROM MAYTAG.
Model #MVW6230HC. Poor Customer Service and quality is questionable in 2022.

Score=0! We've had nothing but issues with our washer. The motor was fried after having it for a month. It was replaced with a brand new unit - aka another piece of garbage. Our second washer has had a broken detergent drawer and a cracked lid twice. We've spent over 7+hrs on the phone with customer service. We continue to get the run around or told there's nothing they can do - except offer me a coupon code to buy a new washer (when mine is only 3 years old). They're unwilling to help & acknowledge that the left hinge on the lid is defective. The plastic cracks in the same spot near the left hinge and eventually shatters, making the washer unusable bc it will not lock. The lid has ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. However, it broke again after just over 1yr, so it's not covered under the "warranty". I've never been more disappointed with washer or a company. They make their product well enough to last through the 1 year warranty. Then everything breaks. I will NEVER EVER buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again! **AVOID Maytag!**
