Bought a maytag washer thinking it would stand the test of time. MAYTAG WASHERS SHOULD BE PUT IN THE DUMP! I've owned it 2 years and have had a repairman out 4 times. I bought a very basic washer because like newer cars all the bells and whistles just mean more things to BREAK DOWN. But I still got a LEMON. I wouldn't recommend Maytag to my worst enemy. The commercial - people it's all fake!@ Repaired every 6 months and it still is cramp I'm better off using a sideboard to wash with. Trash!

Great products which just work. I got a used dryer and it works superbly well. It's an old metal gadget and the paint is slightly flakey here and thats not much of an issue.
A year old washer, commercial quality it says, lets no water in and it tells me in 2 minutes cycle finished. Set appt. For repair and they called same day they were to be here to Cancel appt I suppose they do not get paid enough to repair this china junk. A month without a washer... BE SMART... DO NOT BUY ONE OR ANY MAYTAG PRODUCTS. It use to be a quality product but no more, made in china no doubt to save a buck. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK and service could care less if you are a happy customer they just blow you off with a smile... SAVE YOUR MONEY... Maytag is not maytag any more and all the prducts are cheaply made and are unrelaiblae. I bought Washer and Dryer Maytag YMED6200KW on Non 13.2022 and Dryer stopped working very first week. Still going in circels who will fix it? Poor cutomer service from Maytag/Whirlpool service department.

I have been a loyal Maytag product owner for many years. Recently, my $1000+ Maytag washer (made by Whirlpool) failed after 4 1/2 years, and it was not cost-effective to repair due to the extortionate cost of parts. The washer was hailed away. It was partly recycled, but mostly become landfill.
Thousands of consumers are also reporting reliability issues and failure of their appliances from as little as 2 years after purchase. Across just 3 consumer advocate sites, there must be thousands of complaints along similar lines.
When I approached Whirlpool, they said they would not pay for the repair as that would mean them favoring me over other consumers and that they wanted to treat everyone fairly. This is clearly not the case, as occasionally I have seen consumers writing about Whirlpool making exceptions. If you search for "product reliability washers years" you will see the average life expectancy of a washer is 10 years. The agent told me that the ten years is correct, but after repairs have been made in that time period.What?
Don't bother going to The Better Business Bureau. They will likely do nothing, as they do not share with consumers that company's like Whirlpool are paying them membership fees, which is a conflict of interest.
Other than reliability, I would also never purchase a Whirlpool product based on the negative impact the failure of my product had on climate change.
I think it is reasonable to assume, I am not the only once who has faced this issue. In this case, Whirlpool can sell new washers or make money from selling expensive replacement parts when the appliance fails prematurely.
Finally, based on my experience, their product reliability appears to be at odds with claims on their corporate website that they are actually helping the planet and reducing their carbon footprint.
Shame on you, Whirlpool.

Sixteen years ago I inherited a Maytag washer and dryer from 1997. I used that set until last summer. Every couple years my husband would have to replace a part or two, once a motor, another time belts. That set was amazing. It was quiet, quick and very very reliable. I could do so many things with that washer. Dye clothes in it. Felt fiber in it. Wash wool clothing without felting them in it. Just a control dial to turn and I had complete control. I was so spoiled and I knew it. Unfortunately after almost 30 years my husband decided it was going to need a complete rebuild. I wish we had because instead we bought new Maytag last July. I assumed our last Maytag was so reliable that new one would be. I couldn't find anything anywhere close which could work for a fiber artist like me. Everything too automated and slow and I wanted control to stop, start, switch settings around, nope, instead you get over complicated poorly made junk. First washer delivered last 3 days before refusing to spin. We had to go through Lowes because Maytag wouldn't take it. We then received the replacement in August which worked ok, not great, until last week when it decided not use any hot water even though valve is on and everything appears to be working. My husband says he will take it apart but I just want it gone. Two in six months. Good luck getting a serviceman out.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN A COMPANY, PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE I AM WITH MAYTAG. I HAVE CALLED EVERYDAY THE PAST 3 WEEKS AND REMAINED ON THE LINE FOR 2 HOURS, FINALLY SPOKE WITH KRYSTAL WHO GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT DATE. I TOOK OFF FROM WORK TO BE PRESENT DURING THE APPOINTMENT BUT NO ONE SHOWED UP OR CALLED TO INFORM ME THEY WERE NOT COMING. WE PURCHASED A MAYTAG WASHER LAST YEAR AND IT JUST WENT COMPLETLY OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. I WILL SUGGEST TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO NEVER PURCHASE A MAYTAG PRODUCT.
We bought a fridge in the first week of November 2021 after receiving an email the fridge was back in stock; the site said it would be delivered the last week of November. The online tracker worked fine, but then never updated as the date was approaching and the delivery was never scheduled. We called only to find out the fridge was not in stock (and in fact wasn't in stock... when they emailed us saying it was in stock) and the delivery date on their site and the tracker was completely wrong. We got a notification first week of February it was in stock, so we scheduled the delivery. They cancelled it without informing us. They just sent an email to schedule a new date. We did, and it was scheduled for installation and haul away of the old product. Delivery driver then informs us he was only scheduled for drop off of the fridge. Call Maytag and they say they don't offer installation and haul away despite scheduling it for us and us paying for it. So they refund the fee and say there's nothing else they can do. Customer service was short, rude, and unhelpful. They gave no explanation why they let us book install and haul away when it supposedly isn't available. The delivery driver then let us know what Maytag said is completely false- his company is contracted to do haul away and install for Maytag in our area. Will never buy with them again.

WORST TIMER IN THE WORLD. IF YOU DON'T HIT IT HARD ENOUGH IT DEFAULTS TO THE OVEN SETTING AND RESETS IT AND THEN YOU HAVE TO SHUT IT OFF, RESET AND RESET THE TIMER. BIGGEST PIECES OF $#*! EVER MADE! DO NOT BUY MAYTAG OR YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE FLAPTOP. STONEHOLLOW PROBABLY BOUGH ALL THEIR SECONDS AND DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE. Absolutely junk, deceptive and pissed, upon purchase I called Maytag and was told there products carriers a full 10yr warranty and just at 7 yrs old the ccu on the dryer is bad,they're telling me that's not covered under the warranty, only the drum and parts,,,,,well doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that the ccu is a part,they want 426 dollars for a new one,,,, really,,,,I can put that towards a new Bosch which honors it's full warranty as I found that out on my Bosch dishwasher,,,, Maytag sucks.
The Whirlpool/Maytag Warranty of Mfg Not reliable as their Representatives are not able to process repair authorizations especially ordering parts. You are told order for parts through Their sub-contractor ( Ours Flamingo) then told they cannot get parts for a few weeks, then told you no longer need repair! I spoke to Zen who said he is escalating complaint, following week etc etc then spoke to Lauren of Georgia today parts Fedex to Flamingo, then Allen Supervisor who said someones notes(we don't know who) said parts no longer needed! Beware BUYERS DO NOT buy anything with Maytag or Whirlpool name as company cannot nake good on its products!?
I bought the washer on april/4/2022, I got the washer and on the 1st wash I noticed it was making a lot of noise, called home depot and I was told it's been over 48 hours since the delivery I had to call the company directly, they send a repairman and he told me that's normal noise I called to see if I could return it but they refused,, april/19/23 it stopped working I was told the warranty has passed, one year and two weeks it breaks down.
I foolishly bought the cheapest Maytag washer I could find at Lowe's. The first time I used it my towels were sopping wet and it took the dryer three cycles to dry. The second time I used the washer the clothes were dry. The third time I used the washer the water would not fill the machine unless I started the machine with no clothes in it and filled it later. I HATE Maytag for making such an incredibly CRAPPY product for people on a budget. NEVER BUY MAYTAG
I am writing this review to let people know how disappointed I am in the purchase of my new Maytag washer and dryer, models MHW8630HW & MED8630HW.
I purchased these hoping to upgrade my Neptune washer and dryer (MADE IN THE U.S.A), for newer models, (ASSEMBLED IN THE USA WITH FOREIGN PARTS), with the hope that they would be as good. I thought I was getting the top of the line, which is what I had when I purchased Neptune's, which, after 24 years still worked and I gave to my daughter who is still using them.
Unfortunately, I have had to have the washer repaired twice for a faulty hot water heater. Yes, I still use hot water on some things and will continue to do so. There are also cosmetic defects in the detergent dispenser that the repairperson requested a new drawer for, and the request was denied because it was not considered a warranty concern.
I also do not like the auto detergent dispenser, especially when I want to use Woolite on a load. You must empty the dispenser or pull it out far enough that the detergent is not dispensed and put the Woolite directly into the washing machine with the clothes.
I am terribly disappointed in the quality of products Maytag has now started to produce. If I could give a 1/2 star I would
Washer: plastic lid cracked. Dryer: black heat mark. Dishwasher rack wheels broke. Refrigerator clogged drain line. Maytag will not assist with any repairs.
