What a disappointing day to decide never to buy another Maytag product. I grew up with my parents having a house full of Maytag so, as an adult, that's the only thing I'd have in my house. Two years ago, we bought a new Maytag washer with a 10-year warranty. The tub stopped spinning and the repair has been a total fiasco. The Maytage commercials you see on TV are NOT the way it truly works. We called Maytag and were told we'd have to use a repair facility over an hour away (even though there was one in our town). They sent a young girl with a cell phone that "facetimed" her boss to tell him what the machine was doing (we'd already talked to them over the phone and told them so this was a wasted house call). She collected our $289 because she said it wasn't under warranty. Then, when the repairman finally came with the parts, if my husband had not helped him, I truly don't think he could have done what he had to do. He didn't have the tools with him to remove the bolts to take the drum out so they had to load it up on his truck and he carried it with him. We've been without a washer three weeks now. NEVER again will we go this route with our appliances.
I bought this Maytag dryer and right before my vacation the dryer broke down and kept saying the error message that the door needs to be closed when it was already closed. I had only purchased the new dryer for 3 months before it was broken down and wouldn't work. I had just given birth to a baby and needed to do laundry a couple of times a day but I couldn't because the dryer was broken. The Maytag service department said I needed a part and that they would order it for me and they kept making me wait for the part. Maytag service said that if after 30 days I don't receive the part then I will get a new dryer. Maytag service department lied to me because they ordered the wrong part and then continue to make me wait beyond the 30 business days. Now I haven't had a working dryer for 3 months and can't do my laundry. I hate Maytag products and the Maytag company overall has a bad reputation for lying to customers. Absolutely terrible and will never buy another Maytag product ever again! Also, Maytag company didn't offer me any help or any money back. Waste my time and my family has to be stuck with this problem.
Maytag is not what it used to be. Don't expect your Maytag dishwasher model #MDB4949SKZ0 to last long or buy an extended warranty or else take a loss. I purchased this model Maytag -#MDB4949SKZ0 in 2021. Did not purchase the extended warranty thinking the 10 year warranty Whirlpool advertises would cover any repairs (beware- 10 years is a limited parts warrant advertised in fine print. The 10 year warranty is advertised in bold print. This is very misleading to the consumer. I spent $550.00 for the dishwasher. Not even two years later, the dishwasher is broken. Error code of E1F9 on the dishwasher. I paid $114.00 for a service repair to do a diagnostics. I was informed it was a bad pump and it would cost $380.00 to replace the pump. Of course, the warranty does not cover it. I am looking at a total cost of $494 (including service charge to have the dishwasher repaired. The repair and service charge almost costs the same as the price I paid for it. Very disappointing. Consumer beware, don't buy a Maytag dishwasher- the name is not what it used to be!
I purchased a new Maytag washer in October. It has not worked since the beginning of February,, when you call to find out statis of parts they tell you it's been expedited... they talk down to you they don't listen they.are very much interested in taking more money for extended warranty.
The level of care factor zero that I've received is so frustrating I feel trapped I can't afford another new washer 3 months after I just bought one! I have a new set and have to go to the laundromat r u kidding me! I called today from Feb 10th to see what the status,, and I was told your calling back too soon we need 21 business days to find your part... ummm my washer is brand new why you don't have parts... covid yes I know but if you have them to sell you should be able to service them and not make me feel like you don't care and I owe you... the service I've received from Customer Care is a joke and would never again purchase MAYTAG and ill tell all that will listen about my experience... unfortunately I had to give 1 star I'd like to give zero!
Under 1yr old called maytag the first people they sent out to look at microwave could not read to see I was still under warranty called later in the day realized their mistake.already took the afternoon off.so they had to come another day so another afternoon off.3rd time this place was gonna come because the part came in the worker was arguing that I had to pay them to come out called his supervisor and supervisor hung up on me and the worker never answered me back.so called maytag again said they need to send another company. So they came out another afternoon off ordered the part.part came in had to take another afternoon off guy came said it was fixed and he left it was never fixed.called maytag said I have had enough this is ridiculous the amount of time I have spent calling places amd time off I have had to take and the hassle and maytag does not care.the microwave is not even worth that much.I asked for a new microwave and they refused. They just want me to keep taking time off and then hiring idiots that don't know what they are doing.I will never buy from them ever again
I purchased a stackage Maytag washer and dryer. What a mistake! Washer broke in 30 days. Had to take off work to receive the new replacement washing machine. As they were unboxing it, it was obvious that the machine was damaged. In a way, why box it. Box was in pristine condition. Had to schedule delivery and take another day off. Not even complaining about trips and cost of going to the laundromat. After 3 months the second washer malfunctioned the same way the original machine malfunctioned. Electrical panel is what I've been told. Had to schedule a repair through Maytag. The lonely repair guy you see on tv informed me that to repair the washer, I had to disconnect the dryer first and reconnect it afterwards. That's not part of the repair. Get your lawyer to review the purchase order contract when purchasing any Maytag appliance. So, I'd have to lose more time and money taking days off to hire a plumber to disconnect the dryer, have the repair done on a model that broke twice in 6 months and have the plumber come back and reconnect. How long do you think before this piece of sh_t product breaks again. That repair guy on tv is lonely because Maytag hides behind legal jargon not to fix or repair it's inferior products. I would never buy another Maytag appliance and will warn everyone of this company's terrible products and customer support. If anyone wants to buy a piece of sh_t broken washer, let me know. It's useless to me.
I have a new Maytag washer and dryer, I've had it since September 2022, it's just the two of us and so I do not have lots of laundry. We called and got an appt on April 14th and they appt is for April 25th so I now have a washer that won't wash and a dryer that doesn't dry very well. These are around $2,000.00 for the pair, I also found out that Ken's Appliance with only 20 techs to service this whole area. I called and they moved the app to the 24 one day sooner then Erica with Ken's appliance called and put it bk to the 25th tech had a family emergency.I want to know WHY they don't have more than one company, the company I bought them from said they had tried to do that but Maytag wouldn't do it. So it begs to question who at Maytag is getting their palms greased. You can call someone else and pay but if you want your warranty utilized you have to wait on Ken's appliance. Until someone does something about this I don't recommend buying Maytag and of course if Whirlpool has the same rules don't buy them either. Ridiculous warranty, I think they hope you won't use them and pay someone else to fix them. I also mentioned again about the dryer and if they don't get it to while they are here I will be on this site again and any other I find. I think one of the news channels might be interested in this information, it's a story that needs to be delivered to customers before they buy any appliances made by Maytag.
We bought a Maytag washing machine model # MVW7232H in August of 2021. We did not purchase the extended warranty. The machine has been a problem (inconsistent filling, inconsistent spinning, minimal actual washing, dirty clothes after washing) ever since we purchased it. Using service from the local dealership we replaced 3 control boards and a clutch while it was under warranty. In October of 2022 it went down again - we contacted Maytag about a refund. Over the course of a 10 days I talked to 5 different customer service individuals who all had different things to say but I was constantly stonewalled. Finally, we had the dealership tech talk to the Maytag tech who recommended replacing 3 parts. We said no we are done replacing parts and want a refund. I was referred to their Escalation Department which called me back when I wasn't home and left a message saying they could only recommend service and left a call back name and number if I wanted to discuss it further. When I called back I couldn't get through (no service to that 800 number) and when I called regular customer service to be directed to the Escalation Department they would not put me through. So we are finished with Maytag and will never purchase another product or recommend Maytag to anyone. Do not buy Maytag, they do not stand behind their products.
I bought this washer in 2019 and went through 4 motherboards as of July 2023. Will dispose of it and buy a different brand.
I'm only giving 1 star because 0 isn't a choice.
DO NOT.
I repeat, DO NOT buy anything Whirlpool / Maytag EVER!
Our washing machine broke for absolutely no reason this August. The tech came out and said he was going to order parts to get it fixed. It was a manufacturer/ quality control issue.
He said to be honest, they were just pushing them out as fast as they could and they didn't make them correctly. That's why our parts will be on back order for 3 months- so many people are having the same issue.
Okay.… pretty frustrating since we spent $1,000 on this.
But what choice do we have…. They don't tell you these things when you're trusting and buying a BRAND NEW product.
There have been multiple phone calls to the tech and the actual manufacturer between then and now. They tell us that if they can't get the part in, they will replace our washing machine.
Fast forward to today. We can not get the tech to call us back for a week or so now.
We call the manufacturer, and they say sorry. Your washing machine is now outside of the warranty period. There's nothing we can do. Either wait for the part, or the best we can do is give you 40% off.
Not to mention they were extremely RUDE.
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?
It's outside the warranty bc we've been waiting for you do replace the part as promised, and this hasn't happened in the past 6 months.
Well, guess what. They messed with the wrong one.
I will make it my life mission to get this post shared as many times as possible to get the word out on how these crooks are.
I will leave a bad review on every single item they have on every site possible.
I will even go to every news outlet with all the documentation we have.
I'm so pissed off. This has been a horrific experience. I truly don't want anyone else to experience this with these products.
PLEASE SHARE!
Picture to show this piece of junk that we spent $1k on. A multi billion dollar crooked company taking hard working middle class people's money.
It's sickening.
Came on this page to see if anyone else has any issues with Maytag appliances. From what I see, washers are the biggest issue. A year ago my husband and I purchased four major appliances for the kitchen. I chose Maytag because of the 10 yr warranty and because Maytag is supposed to be one of the top brands. Boy, was I wrong... First was our refrigerator. The day we brought it home, it ended up not working at all. When my husband inspected the internal, he found that the compressor was not fully mounted on it bracket, so naturally it did a lot of bouncing around inside, damaging the compressor. Thankfully it was replaced, but took over a week for them to locate another one. Second, my dishwasher... My husband noticed after about a month of getting it, the flooring in front of the dishwasher was buckling. After pulling it out the subfloor was wet. Again, my husband had to inspect, so we ran the dishwasher with it out and the water came out from the side where the rolling rack wheel mount was. My husband removed the mount and a gasket was missing. You'd think you could find a simple gasket to slap in there, but no. It was a made to be difficult on purpose gasket. Not only that, but Maytag said the whole mount had to be replaced. Okay... So the mount came, and guess what? It was the wrong side Thankfully we only needed a gasket and if one goes bad down the road, we have an extra one. At that same time our stove that we had just bought, was giving us error codes. But I was able to manage to reset and it's been fine, up until now. Now my stove is giving another error code, this time it's the oven. It seems that the temperature sensor went bad. Go figure, last month my 1-year warranty went out. So now, I don't have an oven and it's the holidays. And what's even worse is they are having a hard time getting a service tech in my area. For all the money that I've spent just this last year on new appliances, we're talking about five grand, I expected way better than this from Maytag. And then I learned that Whirlpool bought them out! Well, there's the problem... I should have just spent the extra three grand and bought Electrolux. So if you're on the Maytag site wondering what the reviews are... It's not good.
Purchased new set from Lowes in November 2018. Control panel and board failed in January 2020. Called Maytag and they agreed to do a one-time "good-will" repair, as unit was 2 months out of warranty. Panel and board failed again December 2020- less than 1 year old.
Contacted Maytag via email and then chat; chatted with 'Jenny'. Very rude and abrupt. Stated unit out of warranty and will not replace parts. Explained I would fix it if they sent parts, refused. She stated there was a 90-day warranty on parts. I explained that it is probable there is a manufacturing defect in the components for both parts to fail so closely together. Short and abrupt responses. Asked if she could issue partial credit or rebate towards purchase of new unit, again refused to do anything. Asked her to escalate this to a supervisor- refused to do so, claiming she was qualified to make final decisions on behalf of Whirlpool. Very abrupt and unprofessional.
I am a reasonable small-business person and understand a company must have standards and policies. But at some point there needs to be some common sense and accountability. It's highly unlikely I am the only one that has experienced frequent failures in this equipment, and at the very least they should have offered a credit or discount towards the purchase of a new machine. In this manner they most likely would have kept me as a customer of a brand that stands behind their product, not just shareholder value.
I opted to receive a transcript of my chat with 'Jenny', but never received. Further, received no response whatsoever to my email sent previous to the pleasant chat session.
In summary, Maytag is not what they used to be. The appliance performance is substandard, operational longevity/quality is very poor and customer service is unprofessional and unaccommodating. I purchased a Samsung set last week; more money but far superior performance and a standard three-year warranty. Goodbye Whirlpool/Maytag forever.
I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer on November 17th 2022 a repair person was in my home January 3rd 2023 that told me my machine needs lots of parts that's on backorder. This machine from day one did not work correctly. I called Maytag customer service January 3 and spoke to Jennifer and told her that my less than 2 month washer is broke and that I needed a replacement. She said that's not the protocol. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she said she was a supervisor. I asked for the complaint department she said she was the complaint department also. So I ask to speak to someone over her. She said they didn't have time to chat with me. They would call me tomorrow but she didn't know what time. She was rude and don't care about the customer. I have a lot of Maytag Appliances in my home but this will be last anything Maytag that I will purchase. A less than 2 month old washer should be replaced and Maytag know this. I don't write reviews but this had to be said. UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO GiVE AWAY DON'T Buy Maytag. Customer service and products SUCKS (Sad)
Tech says, YUP there is a cronic problem with the circuit board on this machine. Make sure you get an extended waranty... YOU will need it.
We purchased a Washer Machine from Brandsmart Feb 18 2019 Model is a MAYTAG Top Load HE From The Day we Picked-Up the washer machine, the control panel console never properly responded to the Touch Panel. There was a very Long Delay after placing finger-touch upon the console switches, But Console Eventually Responded and We figured we'd simply tolerate the latency. Moving Forward to September 2020-- We began to notice water pooling beneath washer on occasion, The Leak seemed to be intermittent at first-- October 2020 the leak was now very prominent, Every Time we washed a load of laundry, we would notice near a gallon of water beneath the Maytag Washer. We called the *Warrantech tele number located on the receipt. Beginning early October we have reached-out to Warrantech for Service on 7 Occasions over a Two week timeframe. We were informed that a Service Tech would visit. ( Nobody Every Showed-Up) After calling and calling back over the weeks our issue simply fell on deaf ears. We Got Absolutely Nowhere with this Warrantech. --Today is November 29 2020 and now the Maytag Washer Machine is Dead-Unresponsive! We have Launched a Credit Card Payment Dispute with Brandsmart / October 2020 At this time, we have Video Footage of the Unresponsive Machine as well as the Copious Amounts of water leakage over the past few months. Last Month; I would have settled for a *Repair, Today I Want an Entire Replacement! My Extended Warranty Covers 5 Years!
Do not buy a Maytag digital console appliance. The console will fail and then you are screwed and the appliance does not work.
I purchased a Maytag washing machine earlier this year. The door broke and so I called their customer service department to organize a repair. Firstly they make you wait for 45 minutes on the line before picking up the phone, then everything seemed to go ok, they organized for someone to look at the machine the following week and then gave the incorrect phone number to the technician so he didn't turn up. Rather than try and contact me another way it was left to me to call them (another 45 minute wait) to find out why. Appointment rescheduled, technician called and I showed him via facetime what the problem, result, new door needed (I already told them that) but door was on back order, no problem, it would be expedited and should arrive in 7-10 days. A month later I called them again (45 minute wait) to be told the door was on back order and they would expedite it (sound familiar), 7-10 days they said. I have called again after another month (the washing machine is now being held together by ducttape) to be told - that part is on back order we will expedite it. It wasn't until I told them I wanted to speak to someone higher up that they told me they have a process called X order where they loom to see if the part is available in other warehouses, that they HAVE NOT done so far but that they would start it now but that takes 21 business days - do they send someone round to each warehouse with a piece of paper to individually count the parts.
A COMPLETELY SHAMBOLIC OPERATION
I used the Maytag website to find a replacement part for a refrigerator. (A door shelf). I had the model and serial numbers, but the schematic illustrations were confusing (and I have some experience reading schematics). I ordered a shelf, and was assured that it would fit.
The delivery was delayed by FedEx (never, never, never use FedEx). Maytag said that if the part wasn't delivered by the end of the week, they would replace it. It was not delivered by the end of the week. I called back to ask them about getting a new delivery, and they said they had to wait until FedEx told them the part was lost.
The part was FINALLY delivered (never, never, never, use FedEx) a week later (after sitting on FedEx's delivery truck for a week.) However, the part was not the correct shelf. I contacted Maytag, and was berated by their representative for ordering the wrong part. She did not offer any help, only implied that I was stupid for ordering the wrong part. I tried to explain that I did the best I could with their website, but she went on about how it was all my fault. I finally asked--politely--to speak to another representative. After a delay, I spoke to another rep, who knew nothing about the return process. She told me I could not return the part. I finally gave up and terminated the call.
I called back, and asked how I could return the part. The packaging contained no paperwork, no receipt, and no return instructions. The rep emailed me the packing slip, but I had to pay to return the part. For some reason, it cost twice as much to return the part to Maytag as it cost to send to me.
The customer service was rude and condescending, provided confusing and conflicting information, and did not offer to help me. The Maytag website is confusing and leads to improper orders.
I ordered a new washing machine from maytag.com and waited over a week to get it delivered. On the day before delivery, they contacted me numerous times via phone and email confirming the delivery the following day. On the morning of the delivery, they emailed and said the washer was 'on the truck' and 'on the way.' An hour later they cancelled the delivery. I called the customer service number and they had no idea why and said they could not contact the truck to find out. I told them to cancel the order if they weren't going to deliver it and was told it was cancelled. Then I checked my credit card and saw they had just charged me (again) for the washer! It took two more phone calls and numerous emails before they promised a refund--they first said they couldn't give me one and had to give me 'store credit.' I argued and argued and they finally agreed to a refund, but then they put through my credit card payment anyway. DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THEY TELL YOU ON THE PHONE. I talked to three people and got three different answers. It all depends on which person answers the phone. If you don't get a good answer the first time, hang up and call back again. You have to wait on hold for over 15-20 minutes, but you might get someone who actually knows how to help you (although they are few and far between.) I went to a local appliance dealer and bought a Speed Queen washer, which is guaranteed for 5 years (Maytag was only 3) and is much better built, better rated, and works perfectly. They also delivered it the next day and provide service, if needed. Do yourself a favor and don't get a Maytag or buy an appliance online. Go to a real store.
I purchased a Maytag front loading clothes washer 5 months ago with a 10 year warranty. It has not operated properly since we purchased it, and finally quit working all together. I went to access the error codes, and neither the service manual the online Assistance or the over the phone customer service technician were able to give me the information necessary to access the codes. They were however able to schedule a service technician appointment 3 weeks later... Today the day of the service call the service technician calls me to tell me that I have to have the receipt or I will have to pay for the service. This was not mentioned on the previous call. I do not have the receipt. The over the telephone Maytag representative I spoke to never mentioned it and had no problem locating my purchase on their system. So now I am out the cost of the machine, and or the cost of service, I am out a day's wages, and I'm out the cost of having to go to the laundromat for three weeks to do our laundry. The machine is under engineered, their service department is lackluster at best and more appropriately referred to as a joke, and their warranty is non-existent. DONT BUY A MAYTAG, I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM LESS THAN 1 STAR
