I have been a customer of Maurices since their store opened in my town more than 10 years ago. It's all I have in my closet except the oddball random old sweater from a christmas gift or whatever. I never have a bad experience. The gals in the store know me pretty well by now, even if I don't buy anything(rarely), they are still willing to help and are so polite. I dread the thought of shopping in a department store because their stuff is set up weird and NEVER in the right spot. Sizes are unpredictable and there are often too many options. Finding what you want is like finding a needle in a haystack. Ugh. Annoying. I see people complaining of paying shipping fees, wrong sizes, etc. on here. First of all... if you have the credit card, you never pay shipping, second... drive your happy butt to the store and get your money back or a new item. You don't have to return by mail. The store has the ability to order what you want. Just have it shipped to the store for free if you're not happy with what you are returning/exchanging.
It is the holiday season and my daughter is overweight, looks black but she is biracial and need larger sizes. She use to enjoy shopping at Maurice in Ypsilanti Mi, Arbor land mall, however, she had recently notice on her last 3 visits that the staff including the manager refuse to greet her. She would try to get help and was ignored. My daughter notice that the staff would go out of there way to greet and help the wife customers. So to prove that this is the case, my wife who is white went into the store with my daughter and the staff greeted my wife and offered to help her with whatever she needed. I plan to call corporate office and if this is not address then the BBB and if possible the media, this sucks in 2019.
Today, I went into Maurices looking to buy clothes for a business event. I only wanted one top, but was soon given a room and was overwhelmed by over $300 worth of merchandise given to me by a friendly salesperson. As an individual with social anxiety, I felt inclined to buy something so as to not disappoint the friendly salesperson. There were sales going on in the store and I picked items that would fit within the range of my $50 gift card. However, my items were checked out by another individual and the total came to $63. I emptied my purse completely of change to pay this fee. The kicker is that I got 2 of the same top, same size and style but in different colors. While both were on a rack for 40% off, only one came up as the sale price. I got the courage to tell the cashier this, and was told the maroon version of the top was not on sale despite being on the sales rack. I was very upset but she was adamant that there was no way the top was on sale. I left the store in tears and am too scared to return the merchandise due to my experience with the cashier. I am sick of Maurice's sales not being real and had problems like this when I was younger. This was the last straw. No more shopping at Maurices for me.
Pants looked good for the initial wear after one wash in cold water inside out the pants shrunk, and I had to pass them on to someone that could use them. They were not worth the cost.
I have often shopped at Maurices, mainly in Sarnia, Ontario and have always been satisfied with the customer service and overall shopping experience, but with Covid restrictions and not being able to shop instore, I placed my first online order ever with Maurices. Right from the start it has not been a good experience. I placed my order on December 26th and still have not received an email confirmation of my order, have not been able to track my order. The cost of my order was around $149.00 and $220.00 was charged to my credit card and one of the items was removed from my order with no explanation. I have called and I have emailed with no response yet. The online customer service has been horrible. So horrible that I may never buy an item from this store ever again!. There should be better care towards customers, especially during these hardtimes. Trust me I will be letting others know about this experience as well.
If you are having any difficulties with Capital One service, DO NOT STOP THERE. CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. That was the only time my issues were finally addressed. After endless calls and months of battling with them, I was fed up. Just on a hope that someone would listen, I sent the BBB the information and how Capital One addressed the issue. BBB took care of me. Instead of Capital One doing the right thing and following through with truth, they acted like a bully. Once the BBB was involved, Capital One decided to address the concerns.
IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY DIFFICULTIES WITH CAPITAL ONE, CALL BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. If they are not interested in conducting honest business practices, BBB will be the mother a spoiled child needs. Thank you BBB for saving my credit and helping me when a business was bullying the little guy... or gal in this case.
The construction quality and fit of most items I've tried has been poor. The styles aren't current and I always wonder how Maurices stays in business.
I placed an online order for 2 pairs of m jeans and a 24/7 tee. The fit was true to size. And it was quick to arrive.
I usually spend an hour + trying to resolve an issue and give up on trying to explain myself. Typically talking to 3+ people with different answers from each of them.
Worst customer service! I never got my package! Never give me a tracking number to track it! But they charge me! Horrible! I used to buy all of my clothes from them! NOT ANYMORE!
Maurices was once my go-to affordable work apparel shop. They used to heavily stock professional wear and basics at good prices that were, if not super high quality, cute and durable enough and well worth the price. The aura overall was feminine-classic-romantic. However, the powers that be have taken the store in a different younger direction that spoils what was once great about Maurices. For awhile they ill-advisedly branched out into neon workout gear but have tapered that some. However I see too many casual sweat shirts and lounge type wear nowadays. It's disappointing when a long-favored retailer completely changes their aesthetic from what you've always known and loved.
The website changes have been pretty bad. Inventory issues (items appear to be in stock, you purchase, oops, they are not), slow loading time, the models (I prefer the items depicted on mannequins, the models hardly ever face the camera head on and stand with arms akimbo so you can not see the full item from the front), etc. The points system have changed, but I barely buy so I don't really know how that works.
I'm sad to see what's happened to such a great shop, but at least I am saving my money. One thing I will say, I love the crinkle camis to death and will continue to buy them always. I'm sure it's on more great thing Maurices will get rid of to make way for more trendy teen-geared apparel.
I enjoy a lot of the clothes I have purchased from Maurice's however their customer service has been the absolute worst I have ever experienced. It is now Jan. 22 and I am STILL waiting on a refund from December 19. I returned three items and received refunds for two of the three. When calling, no one seems to know why. They have "accidentally" hung up on me twice, "forwarded" my call only to let it ring and ring. Needless to say I called right back and the woman hung up on me again. I finally was forwarded to a Supervisor. This individual called me back and her service was breaking in and out. I told her I couldn't hear her and hung up. She called me back immediately and I still couldn't hear her. I hung up. She proceeded to call me, back to back 7 times. I didn't answer because I couldn't hear/understand her. My communication via email has been just as awful. I'm told they are looking into it- for two weeks now. Granted, it's only $34 but I don't care. It's the principal that their customer service is absolutely rude and disrespectful. I've asked to speak to someone else but have yet to hear back from them. I will keep going until I get MY money back.
I bought a pair of Jean's, they were so off from my normal size! I had to pay to return them! I contacted customer service and they obviously didn't read my message and called me by a different name!
I ordered two shirts as Christmas presents. One arrived right away, but there was no explanation of why there was only one of the two products I ordered. Had to call customer service, wait on hold forever, and finally was told the second shirt shipped separately (no explanation why). They did provide the tracking number for the second package while I was on the phone. Ten days passed, and still no item. The tracking information revealed no movement in that time. I called customer service again and elected to to the chat function to save time waiting on the phone. I got to chat with a customer service representative named "Aladin" who asically regurgitated the same information as was online via the tracking number. The package shipped from a location in Ohio and was shipping to my home here in Ohio. No way it takes anything over 10 days to move in the state. I mentioned that the package was obviously lost and I wanted a refund or a new shirt to be shipped. Aladin mentioned that they can consider the item lost if it hasn't moved in 10 days. I told him that requirement had been met. Still refused to provide a refund or any compensation whatsoever. So now I paid them money for nothing. I will NEVER do business with this garbage company and recommend anyone else considering a purchase, buy from somewhere else. Run far and fast. WORST customer service ever.
Made an order on May 27th. Order shipped June 2nd via FedEx. Today is June 9th and order still hasn't updated past "label created" I reached out to FedEx and they said that they have not received the package. Customer service claims they sent it. No one will tell me where my package is. I received another message today saying it will get here on June 8th by end of day... its already June 9th so they obviously have no idea what they're talking about. They don't even know the date. I understand that things are delayed with the pandemic and that's not the issue. The issue is they refuse to take responsibility for misplacing my package. I asked for a refund but they only refunded the shipping cost of $9. I spent over $100. I have filed a complaint on with the BBB and I will be contacting my bank because I was scammed out of my money. Absolutely avoid shopping online. This was my first and last time ordering here
I will start out by saying that I have spent a lot of money at Maurices in the past. I have noticed that there has been a tremendous decline in the customer service over the years and have decided to stop shopping there. I received a gift card to Maurices and decided to give them another try. I placed an order online for a pair of jeans and 2 tops. A few hours after the order was placed I received an email stating that there was going to be a cyber Monday deal. I then called Maurices to ask if they could either cancel my order, or give the refund based on the prices that were on their website currently. After speaking to a woman who handled the situation very rudely, I then asked to speak to a manager who again said that no changes could be made to the order after an hour of placing it (no where on their website or the confirmation email does it state this). I will not spend my money here and will spend it at other stores who truly value their costumers. I have watched Maurices decline over the years and can bet that their horrible customer service has something to do with this.
Don't order anything online! I am the sole parent to two small children and buy clothing and shoes online most of the time. I deal with many companies online and I have never had the issues I have had with Maurices. Orders have been cancelled, lost in the system, etc. I have tried ordering online and even had the store order an item online with the expectation it would be shipped to my house (I ordered a jacket). In this instance, the first jacket arrived damaged. I returned it to the store and they tried ordering the jacket again. After waiting two weeks, I called customer service only to be told the order never actually went through and they were now sold out of the jacket in my size. Most recently, I needed to use a gift card so I ordered a few pairs of pants. After putting in the gift card number and paying the remaining balance with paypal, the order was "being processed" for 24 hours. The next day, the order inexplicably disappeared. This is the fourth and final time I am dealing with this store- online or otherwise. I am the sole parent of two boys and I rarely have time to get to a store to shop for myself. I will give my gift card to someone else, with a word of caution. I will also inform my family that I no longer shop with Maurices, so as not to bother with gift cards from this store.
I recently made an online order in store to have shipped to my home, as I've done many times before. Money was instantly pre auth to my bank account which is normal. I get a confirmation two days later that my order shipped. I checked bank account money taken out all good. I got a card in my mailbox that I needed to pick up my package at post office. I know my items are paid for and waiting for me to get. All is good until I'm checking my bank account 5 days after they originally took my money, saying I have a pre authorization for the same amount. I instantly call corporate whom has no clue. I call local store, she says I'll make some calls and call you back. They are double charging all online orders and have no clue why it's happening and can't guarantee when the money will be returned. No reason, no excuse and honesty they didn't seem to care. I work hard for my money and certainly keep track of it. Word to the wise "don't order online from Maurice's" you get scammed! Sadley they lost a customer because they cannot be trusted.
So I ordered two items from Maurice's online. I had three $5 rewards to use, a coupon for 25% off, and my Maurice's credit card. With the card, I get 10% off my purchase and free shipping. Great. Well, one item gets canceled and all that remains is a tank top for $20. Well Maurice's decides to charge me $6.97. Well even a child could realize the math is very wrong here. With the coupon and my 10% off, I should've been paying $13. Well with three - $5 rewards, my shirt should have been free. Well Maurice's still charges me $6.97. I contact customer service, she advised my rewards were used and was of no assistance whatsoever. I contact them again explaining the situation. They refund me my money, but hardly any sort of apology. Someone else contacts me regarding this, to apologize as well as a coupon for a measly 30% off my next purchase. Amazing customer service. For someone who has been a cardholder with Maurcie's and has purchased hundreds of dollars in clothing - the company could give a $#*! less. Maybe they should hire some monkeys to work in their customer care center. They would probably do a lot better than these three representatives did.
I bought two pairs of jeans about 2 weeks ago, and I totally love them. Yesterday I put them on and my boyfriend noticed that my favorite jeans had started splitting on the butt. I'm so sad...
Answer: Maurices? Yes, its certainly not a garage sale
Answer: Yes, to the store/send back, if paypal was used it can only be sent back, not returned to the store, happened to me
