I tried POF with no luck then was talked into trying Match. So signed up. First off girls just vanish. Then went out with a girl, we hit it off. She said wanted to see me but start things slow. She vanished. Then, saw another girl for four months. Things were great. Met her family, friends, went to her sisters wedding. All of a sudden. She wants to focus on school and doesn't want a relationship. I don't get people.
Hated it! Tons of scammers (always GIS the pics, if they are too good looking to be true... they are fake profiles!) and even after reporting them, the profiles are still up. The people I wrote to didn't respond, don't think they are even still members, as I am attractive. The ones I did meet LIED about everything... height, weight, age, marital status, # of ex-wives/kids, employment status... you name it, and their pics were all completely outdated. Had 66 horrible dates in a year and have sworn off dating at all at this point. Complete waste of time and money.
I saw the ads on Match. Com and I thought I would try it. Big mistake! They Never answer e-mails, and when they do, they blame you and expect to lower your expectations. But just like the other dating sites, unless you're tall extremely thin, blond, and have blue eyes, not only are you expected to lower your standards, you're supposed to bury them 6 feet under! Stay away! And don't fall for "We were successful with other couples," hello... what about yourself?
I get a message saying someone is interested, and when I look at it, it says their profile is no longer available. This has happened EVERY TIME. Classic bait and switch. It's just beyond coincidence. Plan to cancel, and if they charge me a renewal anyway, I will contest through the credit card company. I regret signing up in the first place.
I followed all of the site's regulations and the site's "administrators" blocked me from use. The website disclaimer reads that they can terminate your membership at any time without a refund, but when I asked why I was blocked, their explanation was, "We believe this action to be in the best interests of our community." I posted nothing inappropriate and I used real photos that were approved by the "administrators." The Match.com fees are outrageously high and clearly they have no interest in maintaining any kind of customer loyalty. With hundreds of competitors out there, my suggestion is to avoid Match.com.
This site is such a scam; they do not match you with ladies in your area.
And it has all these hidden charges. Worst of all the refund policy is iron clad. I will not recommend this web sit to anyone.
My email was infiltrated by someone who was not a member... and then the con artists began... was asked to mail very expensive things to foreign countries always an excuse... they are good... really good! Be very careful as match checks nothing about anyone and when i complained they said it's too bad. I was scared for my life and still am because they are criminals and don't know how much info they have access to. My email has been hacked 3 times. JUST DON"T DO IT!
They have an auto-renewal process which boarder lines on scam. There is no notification telling you when the renewal will happen, and they refuse to refund your money once it has been renewed. I requested cancellation just 1 hour after they billed me and they still refused a refund. What makes it worse is I was sure I had cancelled beforehand and I am positive that this was a mistake in their computers. I had an email confirming my cancellation with confirmation # and they insisted there was nothing they could do. I even talked to their supervisor after being put on hold for nearly an hour just to hear "sorry, this is our policy." Total BS. Stay away from this site if at all possible.
Website is buggy when logging in. Had to reset password multiple times just to log in. It is absolutely impossible to delete your account on either the app or the website. Map locations are way out of whack. Definitely not recommended. Its so bad I didn't even get to look at any other actual profiles. Glad I didn't give them any money. Use anything else other than this waste of time
Be careful! Once you inactivate your account you will continue to get charged. Match.com will refund only one of these charges as a "courtesy". They are ripping people off to make money! Customer service is completely non-existent. My account shows it is completely inactive... I haven't logged in for at least 6 months. Why charge an inactive account?
Don't pay for it and go for free websites:
-You cannot attach anything to your email/messages on this website
- &You can't reply the messages through your personal email (so no attachment at all!)
-The system does not follow your deal breakers... you will see all the crappy options who are not matching yourself, neither your criteria for your match... there is no process for offering you Match, but just random!
It is my first week, and the weak design of the website makes me sure I have already wasted my money for 3 months membership! Spend that money in a bar... You wont see a match, but would enjoy your drink!
I would strongly advise anyone joining this site to wAtch this Auto Renewal subscription. Even when cancelling I wS stunned to see £60 taken with a claim that I clicked a pop up asking for £9 upgrade which there is no proof. To prove I'm not slamming the company I won't say don't join so it does not effect there money making/business. However I would say do not do a monthly instalment payment scheme as its a rip off. Be Warned.
First let me begin by saying in all my experience of online dating, Match.com has given me the least for what i put into it. Now they cannot get you a date, they can only provide the means. However I found too many "dead" profiles that were created by people and who never paid to send or receive messages. So you run into a lot of ghosts that are no longer there.
Next I think it is quite suspicious that the day I cancelled my subscription and let my own profile become one of those ghosts, I received a few messages and winks and of course could only read them if I decided to pay Match.com again. I decided not too.
Overall I cannot recommend the site and can only say it was not worth the time or money.
Twice, I've contacted the company to cancel membership. Twice they have re-enabled it without my permission, and with no notification, resumed taking payments. This even goes against their own terms of service - so they are also in breach of contract. A quick search of the Internet, shows this is typical of Match.com - whom would appear to have been using this illegal practice for a long time - and amazingly, getting away with it - so far. It's about time the senior executives were held personally accountable, and prosecuted.
They had many fake profiles of really nice looking people that suddenly disappear once they get your $$. I've had this experience twice with them now... There won't be a third. I would really like my money back. It's way too expensive anyway for bogus BS! Needs to be a law suit against them... Same with Zoosk and Our Time sending fake emails once your subscription is up making you think you are missing something! Stick with POF it's free and most profiles are real and they don't seem to send fake views and emails.
Joined about 2 weeks ago. So far the education and ethnicity of fellows I'd be interested in meeting has been ignored by the matchmakers and there are scammers, so beware. My membership is for a minimum three months at a cost of $35/month. These sites are more interesting for younger people but I won't be renewing membership at this age. The few fellows who have replied have been uninteresting and relatively uneducated. I'm onsite until August and if things change, I'll be updating my review. In the meantime if this saves a senior some money, all well and good.
Do not use this horrific disgusting dishonest website! They get u to subscribe with fake model profiles and when u cancel ur account they say oh well u only cancelled ur features so we're still gonna charge u! It's a trap and the most ghetto website with rude customer derive reps! Run for your life from them!
I subscribed for 3 months, but my account was hacked after 3 weeks, sending awful emails to anyone whose profile I had visited. There was no way I could ever fix this, as I was now a part of the scam...(here are more photos of me, etc.). I would have to completely delete my profile and start over with new pictures and even if I did that, I was now a virus according to them. When I contacted Match, I was told by someone whose English was almost impossible to understand that Match did not give refunds, even pro-rated ones. You all can take your website and stuff it. Period.
Having used paid and free dating sites, match.com is the worst. For lots of reasons. Firstly the high number of False profiles, many profiles are cancelled by member but match.com continue to use it unless you opt to permanently delete your profile. There has been a number of law suits about fake profiles n con artists. The customer service is appalling with many people continuing to charge subscription fees, poor sign posting to delete. I cancelled my profile in 7 days and still waiting for a refund. DO NOT USE.
I joined Match a few weeks ago. Please don't be fooled into paying a monthly or any subscription fee as you still have to pay for other things on top. So many fake or old profiles. People who Match or like you rarely respond, and once you pay your daily matches dry up instantly. Don't do it.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
