Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

Match.com agreed to give me a refund…
Match.com agreed to give me a refund said it was done on their end and it'll be in my bank in a day or two a week later I get a hold of them and they said they can't do it because I purchase through Apple that I needed to go to Apple so I go to Apple and Apple says they didn't have it. Just went back-and-forth for over two months then I looked on my PayPal and went back and found where it was charged from Match to PayPal. I got hold of them again and show that to him and approved it. It took me a week and 10 tries to get them to respond. And then when they responded, they said well you received a refund before those dates and there was a one time deal for refunds. I responded back that this was not about those refunds. You agreed in writing that it was February 2 and April 7 charges that you agreed to refund the only reason you couldn't you said it's because it was through Apple now that I prove that it's not through Apple they say I can't have it because I already got a refund months before for a double charge do not use these. It is the worst dating site in the world full of scammers and you cannot get any help whatsoever. They just take your money and keep taking and taking they put up people for you to match with and you like them but they won't let you see him unless you spend more money to buy. Super likes. These people should be in jail not running a website.
They're still not letting me see my matches n who's interested in me, I gotta give it to them. We're going to see what happens n I'll definitely keep everyone posted! Good er bad you'll hear about my exact experience with this company and how they go about caring about us
Match have revamped their website but it's nearly impossible to search for profiles now
Won't be using it anymore never mind subscribing to it
App almost never works correctly. No attention paid for the filters I set.WANTED ONE MONTH AND WAS CHARGED FOR 6 WHEN CONTACTED THEY BASICALLY SAID TOO BAD WORST SITE EVER DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. HORRIBLE
The worst customer service I have ever goten. I got a membership for 3 months and I can't get on there because my phone number is wrong and I can't verify it. So It was a waste of money, I get all kinds of notifications but I can't get on there because I can't verify my phone number because it is wrong. Plus I have sent them an email saying that its all wrong and no feed back. So I paid for a subscription I can't use.
I couldn't find any women who would match my search criteria. There are many con artists focused on your money. The only ones left are complete undesirables. Another annoying thing on Match is overcharging. I took my Match profile down which didn't prevent Match from adding another bogus charge to my credit card. I recommend to avoid Match!
First used it 20 years ago (2003) and a 15 yr marriage, I tried it. Just don't! Signed up & had to pay prem membership to view other's photos and emails. Sent out over 200+ personal likes/ emails. Never received a single like/email back. (Only a few views) Don't have a profile if you're not going to meet up in person. (There has to be restrictive measures to this.) A lot of fake, flakey and shallow people out there.
Mostly inactive profiles and little responses. Read receipts and being able to tell if someone is a subscriber is behind the pay wall. Amazing when the subscription expires likes roll in. Had better luck in person.
I wasted $130.00
This is a scam. It's made to drain you of cash. They take your money and Still not allow you to communicate with anyone unless you pay more. I cut my losses and deleted my account. Lesson learned for $130.00
All the users on the site are scammers… and this site criminally takes your money for garbage users and content. They should be held accountable for not verifying users… but why would they when their scammers help them make innocent users believe the site is legitimately working. And if you try to approach them with the 3 day money back guarantee policy and a scammer has contacted you and you think it is real… match refuses the money back because you engage in communication with the scammer. What a racket and Match.com is the ultimate scam.
I experienced 0ver 12 scam attempts in less than one month. Besides being expensive, it is fraudulent.
Iam on three dating sites match pof and free facebook...no action at all on match plenty on facebook...any thing you accidently touch on matches website is a new charge, something will say are you interested in so an so then you click to view it and youve already bought it what a load of decietful crap it is possible to have it changed i think if you find the right email...this happened twice I feel ripped off. Challenging to find men that meet my preferences which are hetro and older. Match allows the user to set for proximity--I set for under 90 mile radius and Match consistently has presented/pulled from 180 miles away. It means rejecting a lot of people, which never feels good on either side. The click-boxes help people fill out profiles, but there are still a lot of men that don't bother or are 'just seeing what's out there' or with dummy profiles. I've run into scammer ones as well. That said, I did go on a few dates, and dated one person for quite a few months. I think a lot of people my age often use it for dating, so sometimes I've seen the same men over the course of time. One guy I met was 100% convinced some of the profiles that he connected most with always showed up right before he was ending his subscription.
They do seem to have good support in-app but it's all add on pricing--they'll help improve your profile, give you advice, etc, even set up local meets. However, their overall price is ridiculous and they do play games--they will lower the price if you are a demographic they want. They will NOT send you notice that your subscription will be renewed. And, in 2023, it isn't possible to get a hold of a person easily. Messenger dialogue is algorithm based, email definitely is, and the phone number on the credit card statement is pre-recorded messages. In short, they are looking to sign you up, hope that you forget to cancel, and then renew you at high prices. I'd avoid it, because it's starting to feel more like an app run by AI designed to extract money and not actually help people connect.
Found it not very good. Men seem to have anger issues over their past divorces and compare their dates to their ex-wifes, as that's all they talk about on dates. I Had 3 dates like that which was very frustrating so I cancelled my membership. I most likely won't go back on another dating site again as a result.
Match.com is a scam. You cannot communicate with matches unless you buy their membership. It took 5 e-mail exchanges with customer service to get a straight yes or no when I asked if I had to pay to communicate with those I matched with. It is not worth the time and money.
MATCH?! NO WAY! THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY CONTACT PHONE NUMBERS ANYWHERE THAT WORK! YOU WILL NEVER TALK TO A PERSON, EVER! MOST PHOTOS ARE NOT ACTIVE DATERS ON THE SITE. REPEAT PROFILES, VERY FEW TRULY AVAILABLE WORTHWHILE MEN! I SENT THEM 28 PAGES OF PROOF OF THEIR ERROR TO NO AVAIL. ONLY REASONS THEIR NUMBERS ARE HIGHER IS BECAUSE THEY OWN A WHOLE GROUP OF DATING SITES! TONS OF LAW SUITS AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS!
I was disappointed and wished I read reviews beforehand. I wasted the 3 months' subscription money on software that is not user-friendly. I would not recommend this to anyone. I used this site a decade ago so I can compare the software.
Absolutely worthless app. 95% of proflie are not even active and the other 5% are just message readers. Huge waste of money buying subscription. You can get better responce from a graveyard. Just another app made to make you feel discrourged and depressed. Please take my advice and save your money. WARNING! They will not give you a refund for their crumy service.
I wanted to check out Match after a few years of hibernating during Covid. I had always heard the site was better than most and to always go for a paying one instead of the free dating apps. I guess because you get what you pay for. NOT. Now hear me out, I'm an attractive 60 something woman with flattering recent photos to boot. But, in my past, I typically don't attract the super hot dudes. I'm just not your typical curvy, large breasted female with a killer bod. I don't like to ski, hang glide or surf and I certainly am not a master chef. But I'm arty and interesting and a fashion person. Think Chanel on speed. Well, anyhow, before I signed up officially I joined for free and perfected my profile over the course of a few days. I noticed I had 68 views in less than 3 days and 9 likes. Also had a few messages I could not view until upgraded to a package. And then, mysteriously, I had two hunks apparently match with me. I could not view past their photo briefly, and could message them, but not receive a reply unless I paid for a subscription. These guys looked too groomed, too good looking and too suspect. Were they paid and planted to match with us desperate ladies looking for love? I'm truly thinking such is the case after reading some of these reviews. So, good thing I did not cave and pay a small fortune to only be disappointed that my prince was really a frog. I will have better luck at the Home Depot or Trader Joes in the frozen section or even the dog park. Save your money folks.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
