Just spoke to an incompetent customer service rep in Retail Team.
After spending 20 mins holding to be advised by the online team, he needed to transfer me to the retail team, who would be happy to help!
Spoke to an incompetent lady! Advised her that I had a product issue with some bedding I had purchased in store, and due to being under Tier 4 lockdown I was unable to go into a store to return the item for a full refund. She did not have a clue! Told me I could go into a store and collect the item or I could send a friend to collect my food!? I told her once again due to Tier 4 lockdown restriction we have been told to stay home by the UK Government! Again she just continued to tell me to go to a store and return my faulty product or send a friend! I advised her that she did not understand what I was saying, which she insisted she did, talking over me, again telling me to go back to the store to return the product or send a friend... Or wait till we are out of Tier 4 lockdown! I advised her no one knows when Tier 4 lock down will be lifted and I was not willing to wait for months for a refund. Requested to speak to her Manager and her name and she hung up on me! Absolutely disgusting incompetent service!
I've been to their St ann store, took the wrong size by mistake, went the next day to exchange one of the 3 trousers to the right size, staff didn't give me a new receipt for the new trouser so I assumed that when you change size they don't give you a new receipt.
2 days later I noticed the trousers' fabric are rubbish and colour is leaving marks on my skin and other clothes as well so I decided to return the trousers, staff and manager refused to return the one that didn't have a receipt although it was staff mistake that she didn't give me a receipt, instead of the manager apologising for her unprofessional attitude and investigates further he spoke rudely and threw the trouser on the floor in front of all customers and said I'm the manager and I'm not returning it that's my decision if you don't like my decision call customer service.
I did and they said they opened an internal investigation but I don't believe them plus eventually they send me a gift card not my cache, I had to take responsibility for their staff mistakes, M&S are desperate for any client and couldn't handle the loss of £30, they tried everything to keep it in store, rubbish store, rubbish management, rubbish products, hope they close soon, don't go there and save your money
Well, I have never experienced such terrible customer service and I WAS TRYING TO PLACE AN ORDER YES ITS LAUGHABLE IT ISN'T ANY WONDER M&S IS losing CUSTOMERS IF THIS IS THE SERVICE. CUSTOMERS RECIEVE I tried online 27/6/20 TO ORDER beach wear but the delivery to collect in the store was for Sunday 30/6 I was ordering on Thursday I needed the beachwear on Saturday before I went on a holiday Sunday 30/6 3 days is quite adequate a time to expect instore collection. When I phoned customer service and tried to explain and getting nowhere with the unhelpful girl the other end I ask to speak with her manager she put the phone down even though I tried to explain I was willing to pay for express delivery could that be achieved? WHAT A TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HEAD OFFICE READ THIS. HAND PICKED FOR HER IGNORANCE THAT GIRL..
M&S an institution or in an institution!
Marks and Spencers was once called an institution but now more of in an institution, a true shame that they seem so lost.
On a recent internet expedition into the depths of Marks and Spencers I ordered some hi-ball glasses. These glasses cost £7.50 for four. At a later visit to Asda I came across the exact same glasses for £2.40 for four, you should have shopped around I hear you say. How very true. My point is though, if they continually overcharge customers on their wares, in the end the customer goes elsewhere.
Following on with the same hi-ball glasses, Marks and Spencers asked me to review them. I pressed the link supplied and hey presto, a nearly blank web page stating that "this site is not supported". See what I mean! If they can't link web pages what can they do.
Just a few days ago I had another poor experience with M&S. I wanted to buy a gift card for someone; what card shall I get, I thought! I know (a spark of genius) an M&S one (bad mistake). Chose the card and value, went to the online checkout, got ready to pay; hang on a minute! Delivery charge! Yes they wanted £3.50 to deliver a gift card. I tell you, M&S have definitely lost the proverbial plot, no wonder their market share is going down. COME ON MARKS AND SPENCERS, THINK ABOUT WHAT AND HOW YOU SELL YOUR PRODUCTS ONLINE!
I really hope they can get there corporate act together, for look whats coming... NEXT.
Wrong Size Sofa - Ordered 'Nantucket Chais Corner Sofa'. After waiting just over 3 months for delivery when it arrived it was incorrect size. Sofa now blocks a doorway.
With loads of chasing on our behalf, M&S have admitted that sizes on their website were incorrect but despite promises they will contact us to amend we have had no meaningful contact from M&S. Customer service is absolutely appalling.
Timeline of events:
29/01/2021 - Sofa ordered online.
04/05/2021 - Informed M&S sofa wrong size and sent them photo proof with measurements.
05/05/2021 - Received voicemail from M&S simply stating that sizes were correct. Phoned customer services again and informed them none of our questions had been answered or photographic proof had been addressed.
13/05/2021 - After no contact from M&S contacted customer services and spoke 'customer referrals team'. They informed me their website had incorrect measurements and they would launch an investigation.
20/05/2021 - No contact from M&S. Sent email requesting update.
22/05/2021 - Received reply that someone would contact me.
26/05/2021 - STILL NO CONTACT FROM M&S. Emailed to request further update.
28/05/2021 - Received reply that someone would contact me.
02/06/2021 - to this date have still had no further contact or update from M&S.
Be careful to order online stuff. There is no source to exchange sizes. Marks n Spencer sites never pick up helpline numbers. I donno what to do now
Whenever I go out to buy some clothes, Marks & Spencer is always on my list. I've even bought clothes for my kids from there.
40 years useing marks in Romford and elsewhere found caring people and quality on line delivery's with good food and staff
The staff is not trained correctly to accept the gender differences in there customers! OR they have uneducated HOMOPHOBIC employees that there willing to keep!
Mistakingly returned Next kids clothing to Marks and Spencer via marks and Spencer bag which had a barcode to an item of kids jacket I had ordered at the same time. This was returned via a Marks and Spencer food store on the 30 th September 2021.
About five days later I realised what I had done and called their customer service which is apparently based in South Africa who asked me to make a visit to the store and find out why they had not checked the bag fist before returning it. The store staff a lady and gentleman both informed me that they don't have to do this and could not help me as the item had been collected.
I spoke to a manager at a nearby store in Tamworth for advice to how I could retrieve the return and she advised me to call customer services again who after a length of time assured me it would definitely be returned to me.
A week has gone past... 12 days after being returned I have not heard anything from Marks and Spencer'.
I phoned customer services again, based in South Africa and after about 45 minutes of explaining was put through to the store where I returned the parcel.
The gentleman that dealt with me last Tuesday explained to me that I had been last week and I then asked him to look into the reference number I had been given to me by their store
In the meantime tried to ring their head office in London to make a complaint and again lines are diverted to South Africa and I asked if I could be connected to someone in the UK and she could not do that.
By the end of the day I had written to the chairman to help me retrieve my Next kids clothing as I could not get any help from any other place.
Towards the evening the gentleman from the store has spoken to someone and my item is gone and cannot be retrieved. It was scanned in on the 1st October but the department did not contact me and apparently after 9 days item cannot be retrieved.
I have been offered £20 voucher although the item was worth more than that.
Where did my item go? Why was I not contacted? Why was it not returned?
The customer service in South Africa assured me it would be returned a week ago.
Questions I would like someone from their head office to answer.
Someone employed by the company knows where it is
I bought two 3in 1 room sprays. Magnolia & lavender recently.
So disappointed as the scent lasts barely 10 minutes.

Hi brought a set of pans from my local marks Spencers and one went rusty took it back and as I walked towards this very small lady she gave me a look that would frighten any one I said the lid has gone rusty she snapped back and said did you put it in the dishwasher I said no she went and got a replacement pushed it towards my chest and said take to the tills they will sort it my god how rude no apologies she just bullied me I was shacking with anger as I went down stairs I said to a member of staff who is that short $#*! with died black hair she laughed said you have just met Nikki and jill mother and daughter they are bullies that was the start of my problems they both are nasty bullies I now donate money to the stop bulling campaign I have run a company for over 20 years and these two people are the worst I have ever been misfortunate enough to meet even brought jill chocolates from hotel chocolate to make things better she couldn't even say thank you I think that says everything about her hey the pan she gave me said DISHWASHER FRIENDLY on it research what you sale JILL
