I was ripped off 180.00 worth of t shirts.I was in Macy's Jan 3rd had 8 customers in the whole store.Tells ya something stay away from this business total rippoff!

Don't ever buy from Macy's and especially if rebates are involved. Their customer service is beyond poor. Spent well over2 hours trying to resolve a rebate issue and after talking to 7 people in three department. In many cases the representative obviously did not understand or was not listening to my situation based on their question. I was twice directed to automated voice systems that provided only automated information in a quagmire of numerical options and I was also disconnected twice. One rep suggested I should look up a department number rather than giving it to me or transferring me directly. I received no resolution nor anyone that really was even qualified or competent to guide me. Just a lot of runaround and misinformation. In the end, I decided my time was worth more than the $72 dispute. So Macys will lose thousands of dollars in future revenue because they are not competent enough properly address their customers needs. I suggest everyone join me and "just say no" to Macy's in order to save yourself a lot of pain and anguish.

I have been buying from Macys.com for about 5 years and I love it.
The pros:
Great deals, even better than in stores.
Great photos and product descriptions which makes shopping way easier than in their stores where things are usually messy, out of place and definitely not organized by sizes.
Great variety of brands.
Oh, the goodies... I buy my beauty products here because they always send lots of free goodies, samples and discounts, plus you get to see things they don´t have in stores. And for me one of the most important things, you can avoid the annoying beauty section workers who tend to be too pushy and even judgmental.
Stocks are reliable. I've never had a bad experience by shopping for something that was not in stock. If they say it is available, it really is.
Returns are soooo easy! You can just take your unwanted item to any Macy's store. Had to do this just once and it was very easy. No questions and no hassle.
Packing. They pack everything like they were sending porcelain flowers! Love it. Very carefully packed and with enough material to make it safe for your goodies yet not making it look like a waste of paper and plastic.

Cons?
Well, I think I should put their shipping options as a con. But just because there are not too many. And if you are in a hurry I don't know if I would recommend shopping online anyway as anything could happen.
I always choose free shipping as I don´t mind waiting a few days for my items to arrive. Quality and prices are definitely worth it.

I don't think I have any other cons.

They claim to be a BBB company with an A+ rating. This is an outright LIE
The theme seems to be countless customers who never get their merchandise
The customers call and can never get ANYONE to answer a phone

Then if you try to give them a bad review... they have a clause that gives them the legal right to fine you and ultimately report the unpaid fine against your CREDIT

They have received so much negative publicity that they have taken down their FACEBOOK page

******** AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS *********
They won't be around much longer...

I purchased several "Hotel Collection" towel sets from Macys.com. They completely fell apart during the first wash. Either Macys is selling counterfeit towel sets, or at a minimum, they KNOW FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS that this is happening and continue to sell them to unsuspecting customers. I will never buy another product from Macys! I have purchased this same brand of towels from Frontgate and they did NOT fall apart.

I have a Macy's gift card. I was told there was a temporary hold on it. When I called they verified it hadn't been used, but I was told it was "old" and I would need to prove ownership of the card before they would remove the hold. The ONLY proof they accept is the original purchase receipt. They will not even tell me (for security reasons so I'm told) how old the gift card now is so I can even attempt to fulfill their insane request to produce the original purchase receipt. This goes against the whole concept of "gift card". This is a way for the company not to honor the law that gift cards do not expire and to keep the funds without providing the service/goods that were purchased. This is robbery and I will NEVER shop at Macy's again.

I would suggest that anyone reading this consider long and hard before they purchase another Macy's gift card as Macy's has found a way not to honor them by hiding behind their super secret policy (which I'm thinking can change at their discretion) because they won't even tell me after what period of time they put such a hold on their gift cards!

Subsequent Update:
Social Media apparently worked. A few days after posting this I received a call from someone in Macy's customer service. They wanted to verify my address to issue a new gift card. Several weeks later I was shocked to receive a replacement gift card! After my prior lengthy discouraging call to their Fraud department and talking with their manager who told me without a purchase receipt they could not do anything for me, I can't believe they actually gave in and took care of their customer.

Very poor service
October 28, 2017

I tried buying some makeup from Macy's and asked the online chat, and they told me that the items are available when they are not. I have to be the one chasing things up to them and not them notifying that one of the items are not available. They also promised that there will be a discount when there is not. The returns policy is more than a nightmare to deal with and also the staff were not helpful and told different things each time and did not reply in the end. Very poor service and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY FROM THIS STORE AT ALL.

I placed an order on the 7th of june. I wanted it to be delivered on the 18th because its my husbands and I anniversary! They said i will get it by the 16th which i didnt. Then they said on the 17th which i didnt as well! Its not even in the process of being delivered! I tried to contact customer service about 50 times and NO ANSWER! They ruined my anniversary. I have no gift for my husband now! That is going to be the last time i deal with Macys! Very very very baaaaddddd. Don't order anything unless you want it 2 months later! Im going to make sure to post reviews everywhere possible to help people understand how bad it is!

Epic giftables:

THE WORST customer service I've ever received... or is it NOT received if you've yet to hear a F****** thing from them? Don't spend your money with these crooks as it is only a waste of your money because you'll think you've ordered something BUT, you have not. You've just handed your money over for a product you'll never receive and NEVER hear anything else about, say bye bye to your money!

At this point, I cannot go into all of the details, however, there is not a big enough word to describe the experience I've had with my 1st online purchase with Macy's.
With lots of luck, you may avoid this devaluing, dehumanizing experience that never let up in the 3 days and nights trying to communicate with customer service? Only to lose all hope of ever getting anything resolved in the end.
I have personally never read so many bad reviews as this company has. Except T-Mobile.
If you have a special someone you would like to send a gift to, please do your homework. Macy's gives their customers "30 minutes" to cancel an order!
Then they will lie to you about what they can do and will do!
And they do NONE of it.
The entire process has been so incredibly disturbing, I'm at a loss for words which doesn't happen very often.
I hope this HELPS someone steer clear of this declining business if you CAN'T afford to take the CHANCE of something going WRONG.
If you CAN afford to take that CHANCE... place your order with macy's.com.

Received an email that my order had been delivered nothing on my camera's no notification nothing I went to my porch nothing I went to my mailbox nothing when the package was too large to put in my mailbox anyway should've been from what I ordered nothing I made a complaint and was told that they have to refund me instead of getting my items and I have to repurchase items Which is a total rip off because it was a sale item never again will I waste my time with Macy's online

Pick up an item and a blondle old lady assist me no Thank You Just do your initiative to take without handling it properly to me so disgusting poor service and also one rude sipervisor there maybe a Latina is kindness to much to ask if you have a bad hair day leave it at home Be professional.

The only reason I even give it a star is because my boota came in the mail on time AT LEAST. I bought two different pairs of boots almost $200 dollars for both and neither of them lookes anything like thw pictures of what was supposed to be delivered. And apparently none of their $#*!ing sales reps barely speak english. But yay now I will have to take them back to the store MYSELF to MAYBE get my own money back! Ugghhh $#*! you macys never ever ever ever again. How do they have their own parade but can't even have even okay customer service?
