Many of my friends use Lyft when we go out if driving proves to be difficult (i.e. New Years Eve). I had never needed Lyft for myself until recently and thought I would set-up an account for future reference. I decided to download the Lyft app on my tablet. Set-up seemed fairly simple/straightforward....until the company asked for my debit card information. I read banking info was only needed for registration, and would NOT be used for any other purpose without my authority. Immediately after entering my debit card credentials, I was forwarded to a screen with a map and then simultaneously received a message that my driver was on the way. I did NOT order a driver; I was not planning to leave. Nevertheless, my debit card was fraudulently charged with a $15.00 fee so some fat broad could come to my house; this was within a two-mile radius. The rates were out of sight, even if I had wanted/needed a ride. I had to call my bank and dispute the charge, as one CANNOT directly contact the Lyft company. The result of my Lyft experience ended with my debit card marked as void due to wrongful activity and I am currently waiting for a new card to be shipped within the next ten days (if I'm lucky). DO NOT use Lyft... walking would be far easier. I'd even consider hitchhiking after my experience; at best I wouldn't be scammed without my consent...maybe murdered, but not conned by an illegitimate business!
There is no number for you to call to speak to customer service about fraudulent charges on your account. You simply write an "email" and they may or may not get back to you.
1) When the ride happened I was about 75 miles away from the pickup location.
2) I don't share my Lyft account with anyone
3) I can prove that I didn't take the ride because my job is Federally Regulated
Because I didn't order the ride AND I didn't take the ride, I'm afraid that I won't be giving any more business to Lyft.
It's all a lie about how protected you are. Several times I was harassed and they said I would never get that person again and I would. So many time I was reported for thing they said a customer said that wasn't true just because I ask them to put in their second stop and they would get upset and place a false report.so manytime I reported tolls they charged me for that wasn't correct and I mainly paid for it.
DO NOT TRUST THE RIDE SHARE COMPANIES AT ALL ITS NOT SAFE AT ALL.
DO NOT USE LYFT:
I was scheduled with Lyft for a pick up this morning. At 6:25 AM I received a text informing me of my pick up time and reminding me to ready. At approximately the time of pick up I received a text telling me my ride was cancelled and telling me this does not happen often.
I was on my way to the airport. I missed my flight. I WILL NEVER USE LYFT AGAIN AND INTEND TO TRASH THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

THE DRIVER MOHAMMED HAVE ACCESS TO MY CREDIT CARD ACOUNT, HE TIP HIMSELF $5 ON A $6 RIDE AND GIVE HIMSELF 5 STAR REVIEW ON MY ACCOUNT! SO THEY STEAL ON MY CREDIT CARD! HOW HE CAN DO THAT? I CLOSE MY ACCOUNT.
I'm a single mom of 2, I don't have my own car yet. I tried lyft and they scammed me out of over $40. Apparently close but not at my location was the full $10+$5. Then another $20+$5 from another who I could hardly even understand, and he was very disrespectful. I contacted Lyft for help and apparently there is no main line to get ahold of anyone just messaging threw the app. The "Customer service" representative threw the app was disrespectful, I was told that 809 was the address the driver went to when I am located at 808. I was waiting outside in the heat with my 2-year-old for 45 mins. The two $5.99 fee was from the gas the lyft drives just driving 2 miles to not pick up their customers. I had to order ANOTHER lyft which cost me ANOTHER $20 after standing in the heat. After all that I deleted my account and will never use this crap again. No money as the "Customer service rep" said was or has yet to be returned to my account, excluding the four $5.99 charges I guess because the scammers needed to be paid for their time. It's been over 2 weeks. I don't need to prove this because they know what they do and did. I hope they get what's coming to the fast and stop f*ing people over.
I use a walker and a wheelchair, when I use my wheelchair chair and lyft drivers see it some refuse and leave me,it fits in the back of any vehicle
My 13 year old grand daughter comes with me to pick up the wheelchair
I asked the last lyft driver to help my grand daughter with the wheelchair and she told us she doesn't pick up wheelchairs so I help my grand daughter both times while she watched with her phone in her hand
Whe We reached our destination I had to help her get the wheelchair out while she watched with her phone in her hand
Then she said we scratch the rental and it's 200 dollars
And I told her we didn't and I don't have 200 dollars
Lyft took the money out of my account in 20 minutes while am trying desperately to reach there customers service number to speak to someone
I know this woman was living and scamming us
Lyft never call or reach out to me to find out what happen
It cost me almost $400 a week to get back and forth to work so my boss was getting lift cards for me and also got me Uber cards well somebody I let use my gift card cancel the ride I didn't mind the $5 cancellation fee but they kept the $22 and told me they couldn't refund it back on my gift card so I'm not going to do that again but I want my $22 back and nobody's getting back to me so now I'm out $22 and the $5 cancellation fee they are a rip off $50 to get home when Uber only charges me 26 dollars
My issue with Lyft relates to the experience that I had a couple of nights ago.
I needed a ride to the store on the corner. It is less than a mile and normally I would walk. But it was raining and I needed some medicine.
When the driver picked me up, his stereo was up very loud. I take a seat and immediately saw that his windshield was shattered. This wasn't a crack... it was a spiderweb shatter in the center spanning out over the entire windshield. This worried me that not only was his view obstructed but also that it was dangerous.
On top of that, he was texting while driving checking for his next fare I assume (glancing up and down through the cracked windshield while driving in the rain).
This short 2 block dangerous ride was still $7.
I contacted Lyft who responded they "take reports like this very seriously but do not offer refunds".
They might be very slightly cheaper than Uber but at least Uber would have communicated better and offered a refund or credit for the next ride.
I used Lyft 3 times this week and this was my only complaint due to safety and they emailed a generic copy/paste response and told me that I should have requested another ride. However I was standing in the rain, was unaware of the windshield/loud music until I sat down, and did not know he would be staring at his phone while driving.
Some would say that I should have brought my concerns to the driver's attention. I tried... but the driver did not speak English. He just nodded, smiled, and laughed.
I requested a lyft May 4, I had no food when entering the driver side of the car. Driver show food on the floor on passenger side of the car. And scribble on the door handle.
My ride was for 5-6mins we made no stops and now Lyft wants to charge me 150.00 for damages.
I sent proof that I did not have any food when I left my house and that I did not ride on the passenger side of the car. The driver clearly can no prove this was me, however I can prove I did not do this but they will not over turn the charges... I am glad I only keep my card open for the charge that it is intended for therefore they did not get to charge my card the 150.00 but have the charge sitting on my account. If I were to request a ride they stated I would need to pay the 150.00 that I am not responsible for. Now that you see that your driver is a liar and he lied that I made this mess, you need to investigate your driver, because clearly he is making false accusations. I gave a 1 star only because there was no way for me to give a negative star
I don't like Uber so I try to use Lyft whenever I can. Lyft's $5 hot spots make it easier because they are usually cheaper than anything else Uber can offer.
Completed a ride and lyft refused to pay me. Chat with them because there is no customer service number and I was told that there is not enough data to pay me.
Used to ride with Uber, now choose to ride with Lyft. Drivers are friendly, helpful and very professional. Plus a lot more reasonable in price, Highly recommend!
I would not recommend this service for the following reasons; Lyft automatically place a $25 hold on your account upon signing up. That hold will tie up your funds for about 7 days. Subsequently they place the $25 hold on your account whenever you login to the app rather you request a ride or not. Again the hold will tie up your funds for about 7 days. When you have an issue with their service and use the "help" options you will get a general automated response and that's it. No one will call you no one will respond via email. So they essentially take your money and don't respond to your request for review of the charges. I downloaded the app and once I found out about the holds I deleted the app. Months later I started to get emails urging me to use a free ride before it expired. On the last day for the free ride to expire, they posted charges to my card totaling $75. When I requested a review and refund... crickets! No way to call and talk to a human and they totally did not respond at all. Stay away from this company.
A ride I take everyday to and from work that cost me 7 and some change with uber cost me 10 40 with lyft going the same route I will just stick with uber
There is no contact number to deal with problems. Worst way to serve customers and handle problems. I have never seen such a horrible way. They don't even have a contact number.
They didn't want to make money. All it would have taken was a phone call but they would not even do that. I have never seen people that don't want money.
Use Uber all the time. Tried using lyft for the first time. Can not enter where the hell I want to go. Tried five times. Will. Not. Take. So frustrating. Bye bye lyft.
I am a current driver with Lyft and generally I enjoy my rides and have had not many issues except one reoccurring one. There are numerous occasions in which I will pick up a scheduled ride and before it is time a little early, I will drive to the area to make sure I am there on time. Lo and behold the time comes around about 10 minutes or so prior. I still don't get an alert on the ride vanishes off of my app. I have contacted Support via chat three times on this topic matter and all three times they require me to have the riders information. My app erases all of that information the moment the ride is no longer there. So I was told I would have to take screenshot of every ride. First of all with the type of technology we have there should be no need for me to screenshot hundreds of rides. I understand that the app can track as they know every time we click on that screen and they can see all the rides. How is it that they are incapable of locating a ride that was scheduled to me.? This isn't fair to the driver or the rider. Furthermore the chat help is laughable. It's like they don't understand or know how to research properly, are supposed to be who we go to for support but yet can never help. They expect us to have all the info when they have access to the database.
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
Lyft has a rating of 1.4 stars from 906 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Lyft most frequently mention customer service, credit card and phone number. Lyft ranks 32nd among Car Sharing sites.
