Please never use lyft unless youre okay with having your belongings stolen from you. Ive always preferred lyft to Uber. From now on I will be going Uber. My lyft driver cancelled on me while my items were in his vehicle. Its been days and the company support is no help with resolving the issue. Lost and found can only send the driver emails in hopes that he responds. They cannot directly call him and speak about anything. I cannot get one representative on the phone to handle my issue in a professional way. Im at lose of between $40 to $50 and the company tells me theres no policy to compensate my loss. How can you have drivers and even customer service representatives that cannot help you and cannot be trusted.? I will not give any more money to these horrible people. Not even the supervisor has been help.
Lyft support was the most difficult support care Ive ever had to contact or speak to. My issue was not resolved in anyway. My driver stole from me and support cant do anything to fix it. Therefore Im filing a police report to the local authorities. Lyft will never receive anther cent from me.
I will be deleting my account and never using you guys again! I've been using yall for 6 years + and never have y'all held a temporary hold on my money until now!
One of the worst job is lyft driver,
Because lyft company stole lot of money from drivers
They don't pay fair money to drivers
Always I asked passengers how much they charge you thats why i said they stole driver money
From Orange County to LAX charged the customer $300 and they pay me $109. This is one of the example
I had scheduled a Lyft. The NEVER showed up! This is horrible service! The app said the Lyft was running late we waited & waited kept saying on its way.! We waited for an hour!
What is going on with Uber and Lyft's background check company, Checkr?
I worked for Lyft a few years ago and of course, didn't have a problem passing a background check. Drove for about a year, then started working elsewhere and lapsed. Re-applied in May for Lyft and my mind is blown away by the delay with their 3rd party background check company, Checkr.
Lyft can't (won't) tell me anything useful other than I have address all questions through Checkr (they seem to be a bot company that can't offer any useful customer service communication). Finally decided to just wait on Checkr's time frame for my background to be completed (which is scheduled for tomorrow).
Fast forward to 2 hours ago, and I receive an email that "...your background check has an updated completion date of July 27-Aug 1."
In no universe should a background check take this long...when I originally worked for them, my background check came back in 24 hours and after uploading all of my documents...I was working within 48 hours. What is really going on?
I am seeing other posters commenting on the need to take this to the media, threaten law suits, etc. But I just wanted an opportunity to earn some much needed revenue while I am in between work gigs. What a disappointment!
Scheduling for a ride will still end up with a 30 min late driver. They also have trouble scheduling rides because I have been waiting over an hour for a lyft I scheduled 3 hours ago.
No pickup. No communication. These drivers also alert a "driver is here" signal long before they arrive. Switching to Uber. Also, Lyft makes it hard to post a review.
The concept of "wait and save" fares on lyft is great. If you have the time and are willing to wait longer, then you fare price is lower.
Buuuuuutttt, what happened to me can happen to anyone and her is the warning. I booked a wait and save fare before morning rush hour and got a great rate: $60. I waited 20 minutes for a driver to be confirmed but when I did, the driver who confirmed then messaged me to cancel the ride and he did not want to take me to my Destination. I waited another 20 minutes messaging back and forth with him telling him that he needed to cancel not me. NOW, 40 minutes after my original request, I am in middle of rush hour and ride price jumped to almost double that original fare at $110. That is an insane difference. The pain of then trying to identify and complain on the issue was terrible and Ultimately they credited me $5 and said that my fare was not overcharged. Sooooo, do not book wait and save fares.Great idea but in practice, the drivers can refuse to take you and you have no power over them.
I think it's pretty crappy when you request a ride and they take the money out of your debit card or your bank account and then when you want to leave the driver a tip on that same card they double charge you! They charge you the initial charge and then another charge with the tip included which makes it kind of hard for people that are low income or people that are getting from point A to point B that don't really have that extra money to have their financial institution hold on to it for five to seven days! This is ridiculous this is why I will not take Lyft again! Why can't Lyft simply just add the tip onto what is already been paid? Why do they have to double charge me? I think this policy is pretty stupid and it's not user friendly! If I had all this extra money for my financial institution to hold on to for the double charge I wouldn't be using Lyft now would I! You really should stop doing this to your customers it's not fair and it's not a good business practice! Especially since you already charged me for the ride initially! You promote tipping the driver but only it causes more problems in the long run that's why I will not tip and I will not use Lyft again. I'm not wealthy I can't afford for that $14.46 to be held 5 to 7 days I needed it today!
If I could give them -10 I would this is the 2nd time they have charged my card but thus time they charged me for like 6 rides I didn't take n also charged my daughters card.customer service bucks like hell you get no where and they just take your money I deleted our accounts n I'm getting in touch with the BBB ITS A DISGRACE $#*! LYFT
Lyft go to hell, who's not treating drivers or customers. If a rider is mad at his girlfriend he give poor rating to driver, if driver didn't say "$#*!" word as he or she saYS THEY GIVE POOR RATING FOR THAT GOOD DRIVER
Last night my Mom called a Lyft to pick me up from school in Littleton. It was dark and raining. This person Tyler pulls up with highly tinted windows in a Tesla. I say hi are you Tyler and as soon as I get in the car he starts verbally attacking me telling me how the pickup didn't go smoothly, that I put in the wrong pin, I had no idea what he was talking about, he was incoherent and abusive. Then he drops me off at a gas station and says let the next person pick me up. I don't know if he was on serious drugs or what was wrong with him but he should not be doing this job and actually seems like an unsafe person to ride with. I've never experienced this. Lyft néeds to screen their people a lot better. I still don't know what happened, he was so off. Luckily a lovely woman named Victoria picked me up and I got home safely. Also a really nice guy named Pedro. Had dropped me off to school earlier. Don't get in a car with Tyler in a Tesla, I think something is wrong with him and he may even be dangerous, Update: I've reported him to Lyft Safety. Still had his license info and they've investigated the issue with a good outcome. Be safe out there!
I am livid. Im found out from some entirely disrespectful customers service agents that your company authorized a charge on my bank for $15.00 when I have gift card credit for Lyft. After being hung up on by someone who claims to be a supervisor. I took a look at my bank account and found that Lyft tried to authorize $15.00 from not only one account, but two accounts even though there is nearly $80.00 in gift card credit sitting on my Lyft app. One my personal accounts declined (thank God) and the other accounts placed the authorization and reversed it soon afterward. I soon found out from a representative who calls herself Carolyn that Lyft authorizes $15.00 even though you have credit because its set up that way in the system. She said its in the terms of service. So I will be contacting the BBB and making a complaint.
My ride history doesnt show records of this charge and no alert to this policy was given. This is a buyer beware that everyone should be aware of and I will make them aware of it.
I have proof and know this to be a fact. He was a friend of mine, Lyft and Uber hired a Convicted FELON TO DRIVE FOR THEM. TO PICK UP UR 30YEAR OLD SONS AND DAUGHTERS. THIS MAN WAS MY FRIEND. We were friends until I found out he did 8 years in Federal Prison for hurting a woman

I ride Lyft twice daily to and from work. I had a driver by the name of Jasmine who drives a white ford fusion. Cancel my ride and put me out of her car and threatened to call the police if I didn't get out of her car. She was late picking me up. The timer said driver will arrive in 3minutes. Looking at her location her car was stopped for 15 minutes. I called her to make sure that the app was prop working and that I didn't miss her. When she made it to me I was late for work! I expressed my concern. And she wanted to be combative and I refused and asked could she just get me to work. I reached out to Lyft and all they told me was I wouldnt be paired with Jasmine in the future. Unacceptable. I let Lyft know this decision was unacceptable and I've been ignored by Lyft. Just because you've passed the background checks doesn't mean your mental health is good. She clearly had a breakdown and I was the victim. And I was late for work. I'd rather use UBER instead. Terrible problem solving
Driver came to my job and left me. Drove to my house as if I was in the car, wouldn't answer text messages or calls I couldn't report her because Lyft said that there is no issues with the ride so when she ended the ride I called another Lyft one minute later from my job but I thought she dropped me off I can't Be two places at once so I used the last driver to report her,I WILL NEVER EVER USE LYFT AGAIN
I had reserved a ride 2 days in advance for a pickup at 5:50 am for a trip to dfw airport for an early flight. At 5:40 they cancelled the ride with no options. No excuses no nothing. $#*!ty company
They cam not come to pick you up from the airport you have to cross the bridge they should of told me that before they hold my money I am deleting there app after they refund my money never agaim
I had 2 recent experiences with Lyft as a new user. One was excellent and the other extortion.
My first dealt with Jean Paul and our party of 5 from Orlando airport to our Disney World resort late at night. This was my first experience with Lyft and I accepted our location pointer address, not knowing it was wrong and I could override with the airport. I did, however, put that detail on our request along with what gate we were at in the remarks to the driver.
Two prior drivers said they arrived but we couldn't see them, so Jean was our third attempt. We talked by phone and we found the pointer was wrong and he directed us to a better pickup spot at MCO. All went well and he took us to our resort.
I knew the price was between $36-40, and was charged $29 on our Lyft receipt for an XL van, thus still owed around $10. We decided I would tip him the difference, thus thinking maybe a generous $20 tip. Instead, he said the ride usually is $80 and thus he wanted me to pay him $60. I told him that was too much. As I only had $20 bills, I gave him $40 as a compromise. I really wasn't sure of the correct fare until our return trip, which was $39! He took advantage and I would never recommend him as he certainly knew the fare would be close to $40, not $80! I was surprised he gave me his card, as I am using it to report his dishonesty.
I am attached photos of both receipts. As a new user, I received $5 off each trip, but doesn't impact this review.
I booked my ride and I didn't look at my address and had to change it and they charged me 50 dollars for the ride if I had a car I would tell them $#*! you but I can't now I think the app is good but all they want is more of your money and I think they over charge for the rides and I can't wait to get a car
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
Lyft has a rating of 1.4 stars from 906 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Lyft most frequently mention customer service, credit card and phone number. Lyft ranks 32nd among Car Sharing sites.
