I have had a number of troubled orders from them but I have now had enough and wish to warm others about parting with their money. As other reviewers have said they do not answer emails or the telephone so once an order is placed there is nothing one can do but wait and wait and wait in the hope that they actually execute your order. Over 12 months ago I ordered four films, after many months two were delivered, the quality of one is appalling, barely viewable and certainly not worthy of any charge. Indeed, it is so bad one would not even be grateful to have it for free. After 15 months I am still awaiting the remaining two but here is the worst part. Some for or five months ago they sent an email apologising for the delay, advised that they were extending their working day (10am - 4pm) to 8am - 12am and offered another DVD for free as compensation for the wait. Having selected the third DVD they then provide shipment advice and tracking details. Except the tracking link does not work and the DVD's have never arrived. They are either totally incompetent or dishonest, perhaps both. Do not give them your money.
The owner came on this site and asked me to give them a chance, so I placed another order. Within a week they sent me the wrong video... and a week later have not responded to my emails.
Jeeeeze!
On Dec. 20th I placed an order with LovingtheClassics for a DVD. My card was charged immediately and I received an email notification with confirmation of my order. It's now January 12th (23 days later) and still no DVD. Furthermore, I used a card that I normally only use for vacations. So, this charge was the only time I had used this particular card in quite some time. Suddenly, I have multiple fraudulent charges on this credit card account! I have reported the false charges and closed the account, but I'm not going to drop this. I'm sick and tired of companies like this getting away with their crap!
It's pretty clear that this site is a scam, but even worse, they appear to be stealing credit card information now! I don't know this for sure, so I will let the professionals in the federal trade commission determine if that's true. All I know is, it's a mighty suspicious coincidence! If you've been ripped off by this company, too, don't just leave a review here; file a formal complaint against them so they (and companies like them) will be shut down.
Ordered DVD-R in November 2019 which was finally received in Sept 2020. Unfortunately the DVD that I order wouldn't play in multiple DVD players (although the freebie that was included played without any problem).
I was charged twice for a movie I had ordered and noticed that I have been charged a third time. Movie ordered 10/2 and I have not received it. Supposed to go USPS priority
Rip off city
I ordered a 4 disk set from this vendor. 1 of the disks will not play. No response from customer service over 4 weeks. Crooks. Buyer beware.
I placed an order on 17/11/17 for 25 disc set of Adventures in Paradise.
The cost was $78.75USD including postage ($107.67 Australian dollars).
Incidentally, this was charged to my credit card on 18/11/17.
To date - I still have not received my order (Order no *******793).
Throughout my numerous emails - I have been advised that initially item was not in stock, then to be told YES it is now in stock & will be given priority to post order out.
Of course this never happened & after sending yet again another email, I received a response from Mickey (possibly Mickey Mouse for all I know!), stating NO it hasnt been sent & in fact is NOT in stock!
A long excuse was provided stating problems with staff as reason for not posting order yet. After yet another email to them - on 8/2/18 (almost 4 months after placing my order) I finally lost my patience & demanded an immediate full refund of my money!
Since then - SILENCE from Loving The Classics.
I now Realise that this is another SCAM & my advice to anyone considering ordering from them is - D O N T BOTHER!
Ordered a dvd, sadly I had not read the reviews until today. Nothing arrived, have emailed them with no response at all.
Bunch of crooks, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
My old black and white film arrived on DVD, but will not play. I have tried it on 5 devices. Complete waste of time and money $US 28.49
The company is clearly paying people to write positive reviews. This practice should be illegal and is very deceptive.
I was charged twice for one product. Very low quality recording and not worth the price. I regret visiting their website. NEVER AGAIN!
I ordered a video a long time ago, never got it. They have continued too charge my credit card multiple times. You have been warned.
Avoid with prejudice. I've been trying for 4 months to get a refund. Sent multiple emails, submitted their "form" for customer service. It's a joke.
I have dealt with a number of companies/individuals selling public domain programs and LovingTheClassics.com (LTC) is the worst one and I wish I had read the reviews and read their policies before I ordered from them.
First, the site claims that all items are in-stock but what they don't tell you is that they can take up to TWO weeks to tell you if it's in-stock, out-of-stock or on back-order.
Second, If you read carefully, their AVERAGE ship time is two weeks but they can take up to a month just to ship out your order. I've dealt with one man operations that ship faster than one month.
Third, if after all that time you find out that there is a problem with your video, you have to contact them to get authorization from them to return the video - at your expense for their faulty product. Now that is not so unusual but we're talking about a small company here. Notice how they use an earthlink.net email address. That's a sign of a small operation. No large company is going to use an earthlink address as their main contact point. So why is such a small company making you jump through hoops just to get a refund or replace a disc that they produced as faulty?
Like I said, I've dealt with a number of sellers of classic/public domain programs and there is something very wrong here. The scattered 5 star ratings here seem fake as one even claims that there product came quickly. 2-3 weeks is not a quick delivery. I would avoid this company based on their own policies and procedures because there is no reason why a company can't tell you what the status of your order is before two weeks go by. No legitimate company operates that way. That should be a red flag right there and I wish I had read them before I ordered.
Charged my account a month ago, havent heard a word since. Im assuming my money is gone and ill never receive my dvd. Avoid at all costs!
Ordered a DVD in December. Did not receive the dvd nor does this company answer its phone. Will dispute the charge unless I hear from company.
I ordered a DVD box set of an Australian TV series during October 2017. I am yet to receive what I ordered and it is now well over a year. I have sent many (and I mean MANY) emails to try and get this resolved and have constantly told Loving the Classics that my first preference is for the box set to be delivered or, failing that, be given a refund (the original payment was around $480 Australian, determined by the exchange rate at the time). Occasionally there seemed hope that it would be resolved but it never has been. I had a second amount of money taken out of my account ($541 Australian, again determined by the current exchange rate) which was eventually recovered as a result of a fraud investigation by my bank. Loving the Classics then attempted to take a further payment during December 2018 which was blocked by the bank. It is and has been extremely frustrating with sporadic responses, glimmers of hope and then ignored for long periods. I have submitted three complaints to the Better Business Bureau with no luck; Loving the Classics seems to ignore and take no interest in the complaints. What is also extremely frustrating is that there were five of the Box sets available on their website prior to Christmas. When I mentioned this I was totally ignored. I am absolutely dumbfounded as to how Loving the Classics survives as a business There have been two people that have tried to help and have this resolved but I have a sense that they are hamstrung by some inexplicable, unexplainable, unbusiness like weird attitude of management. I haven't given up and will keep on sending emails. I highly recommend to think deeply before ordering. It stinks of a scam.
Received requested item. Will notify others to buy from here as well. I will be back for more movies as needed.
Never got my dvds... still owed money which i haven't received. Dont like being robbed like this! Dont like companies who rip people off,
On Feb. 11,2020, I ordered a DVD - as of April 30th, I have not received it. I have emailed numerous times with no response.
Answer: Hello, We just recently joined SiteJabber and saw your negative review of our company. I'm sorry we did not provide you with a good experience. Can you give me your name and/or order number so I can work with you to get this matter resolved to your full satisfaction? Thank you, Brenda
