Poor Service
December 21, 2021

On 12/4 I placed an order. Order #*******616 and haven't received it yet. They won't answer their phones or take any messages. I've been looking a long time for this series and thought I had finally found it. Stay away from them!

I ordered "Desert Legion", an Alan Ladd movie dvd from Loving the Classics. The product was great. The color, clarity, and sound were outstanding. I had a few questions and staff got right back to me in a timely manner. They have a great selection of movies that are hard to find. I highly recommend Loving the Classics and plan on doing future business with them. Very Pleased Steve Somers 3-28-18

I have been a fairly steady customer of LTC for the past nine years. Although I have experienced delays anywhere from three weeks up to four months, I have always received a prompt, courteous reply to my email within 24 hrs. The print quality of the film titles I have ordered have ranged from "pretty good" to "excellent" so I have no complaints on that subject. Their rare movie classic stock is tremendous. This is why I never ask for a refund on a mail delay; there are great films that are so difficult to get a hold of and LTC has always gotten them to me, if a bit more later than sooner!

I ordered a set of DVDs about a year ago and the charge appeared on my credit card. For months I received nothing, I could not contact them so I sent a dispute to Discover. They refunded my money. About the same time I got an email from the new person who was running Loving the Classics. Their browser was blocking all kinds of mail so she fixed it and about December 2019 sent another email saying she was catching up on orders. By the beginning of January 2020 I received my set of DVDs. The other person didn't realize the situation and it has been corrected.

I should like to amend my earlier review[2/17]. Having recieving order today, inow believe i was wrong in my belief. And while no intirely happy with service [ie>ten week wait on order 12/25] i now believe Loving The Classics to be a basically honest company, and should like to offer my apology john judd 4/16

One thing I'm not sure of is, why are there any negative comments for Lovingtheclassics.com. For those who have not yet hooked up with the site, Lovingtheclassics.com is a great website if you are into watching classic Hollywood films in excellent picture quality. I have been a long time customer of the website and I have always been very satisfied with their service. I placed an order just recently on the website, which was for a dozen or so classic movies, so, yes I was a bit nervous, but I got my order before I expected them to arrive, which I was very impressed with. The delivery person was extremely courteous too.

So based on my personal experience, LovingtheClassics.com provided me with first class service, so I thought it would only be right to make my experience in dealing with the website known, since I have read a couple of absurd comments, that are obviously bogus.

Just saw the last of the movies I ordered (all in excellent print, by the way!). So my verdict is, loved the shopping experience, because of the easy selection menu that can easily be compared to the high end classic movie websites, but minus the roof touching price. Will continue shopping for the classics at LovingtheClassics.com, EXCELLENT job guys!

I've been using Loving The Classics for about 10 years. Every time I place an order it takes about one month before it arrives. Occasionally, you will get a bad disc. I've sent about 6 emails over a two month period of time and I get no satisfaction. I would ONLY buy from them if you can find no other alternative.

Total SCAM

If you have any intentions of ordering from this website dont bother. I placed an order Dec 19,2017 and almost three months later still no DVD. I have emailed at least 25 times or more. Once a week or so I will get a response from Mickey. The last response was the owner was personally going to post my DVD. Guess she/he must of forgot to do it because of course still nothing. They were very quick to charge my Visa card. Total scam. Please at all costs stay away. Never order from this website.

I placed 3 orders in the last year. I have received nothing. Email queries are not answered, nobody ever answers the phone and there is no way to leave voice mail. Avoid this vendor! My only recourse was to contact my credit card company to have the charges refunded.

Order placed early February. Then nothing. Billed my credit card in March. Still nothing. Tried to reach them by e-mail and phone. Similar to Jacques Q, some guy writes to tell me he is working with the company to get my order out and it will ship within a week. Doesn't happen. Finally in May, order was received. DVD quality was poor and received only 8, not the 16 that was advertised. When I tried to contact the company, no response. I can pretty much guarantee you will be disappointed if you order from this company.

I ordered two sets of DVDs in August 2015 and finally received ONE set in March 2016. Two of the DVDs turned out to be defective. Repeated emails to them during this time have gone ignored. I would place many more orders with them but realize now that I cannot trust them. How can they possibly manage to stay in business when they treat their customers like this? What a shame.

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH
October 19, 2019

My order placed on July 4 2019 was never received. Attempts to contact seller via email went unanswered until I received an email ( look like a broadcast email) late Sept thanking buyers for their patience and that they were a 2 person operation; 1 person had health issues. Thankfully I had paid thru PayPal so I opened an inquiry and after a month received a full refund with explanation that PayPal had not been able to contact the company... lesson 1 - always use PayPal lesson 2 - read reviews before ordering. Will never recommend this company. Today I receive email from Loving the Classics in response to my last update request to them... a 2 weeks after I got my refund saying I had to contact their CS Dept... unbelievable. They should be shut down.

Thank you Loving The Classics! I just received an extremely rare film that nobody, absolutely nobody had - across the entire internet. Not only have I just received the film but the quality is excellent for an obscure 70 + year old film! Remember one thing, as many of these films are almost impossible to find these boys are a busy crew and require more time than other internet sites. But good things come to those who are patient. I received my film after 5 weeks which is very reasonable for impossible to find titles in DVD.

STAY AWAY

You make an order and you can never pin them down to a delivery date. First you hear, 20 business days. Then when you try to get them to commit after that time, they tell you it's in shipping and will ship shortly, but won't give you a date! This is a group that list as 5 employees. Don't act like you're a huge corporation where you can't find out when it is coming to me. I cancelled the order and filed complaint with Attorney General's Office

Placed an order on August 20,2015. As of October 1,2015 have not received anything. Telephone calls are answered by a recorder and messages left are not answered. E-mailing the company also does not produce any response. Having now ordered from these people, I'm finding out that they have an extensive history of complaints. The number of complaints has increased SIGNIFICANTLY in the last 30-45 days. If this trend continues, I think it highly likely that this company will close up in the near future. The death knell is going to ring soon once the credit card companies catch up with the problems. I know American Express does not fool around with merchants that do not perform.

Rip off.

This company added $100.00 to my American Express charge even though I have an email from them for $100 less than the amount charged. Stay away from this company. I have filed a dispute with AE, so at least they won't get paid.

Unless you order by using a Visa or MasterCard, don't take your chances. With the card company you can get the charges reversed once the order does not arrive. I would rate them 5/5 as being jerks goes.

Had I earlier seen these reviews, I would have spared myself money, anxiety, and weeks of frustration. This "company" advertises DVDs of silent classics but doesn't deliver or attempt correspondence. Their so-called "Customer Service" doesn't respond to emails or phone calls. I suspect that if they were honest, they would make some attempt to contact customers.

Scam

I ordered a DVD from these guys a few years ago and had all kinds of problems with getting it. Then when I finally did get it, it was a cheap homemade recording that had parts of the episodes cut off. I looked them up today and saw that most of their ratings were similar to mine. Good thing I saw this. I'll use someone else.

Terrible service

Was charged twice for the same order. Finally had to get my bank involved to credit my bank account for the duplicate payment. After 2 months I finally received my order. With broken cases from the mail in thin manila envelope & minus 1 DVD. I was told that movie was sold out. I asked for a refund for that movie. Was told she would give it to accounting. I'm still waiting for the refund after another month has went by. There has been No response with messages sent by phone & email. I will never order from this company again!
