I placed a large order of 6 items with Lord and Taylor on 11/20/20 just before they shutdown their website and customer service support. After more than 3 weeks, I have only received 1 item from the order and I have no idea how to get them to complete my order or refund my money. I have placed a complaint with the BBB, but they responded saying that they shipped the complete order in different shipments but fail to provide tracking information besides the one with the 1 item shipped. I submitted a dispute with my credit card company but that will take a while. I am extremely frustrated and pissed at Lord & Taylor. Shame on you L&T for stealing from customers!---I see a lot of complaints about the same issue, Lord & Taylor needs to be held accountable!
I have been a Lordandtaylor store customer for over 20 years.
There was never any reason to complain about the quality of the product or service.
Lordandtaylor has always been my #1 store.
Today I ran into a problem that, by its very nature, shouldn't be a problem at all!
I have accumulated 445 points from previous purchases.
For over an hour I have been trying to redeem these points for my purchase today.
Asked for help from consultants, Help desk.
Nobody Knows Nothing!
You see, they need 24-48 hours to solve the problem!
I will lose all my items during this time as the quantity of each item is very limited!

Never shipped the product to me. Took sending 2 emails a day for 2 weeks and a phone call everyday for 2 weeks to finally get an email that they would look into in the next 48 hours. Once they emailed me back after the 48 hours they told me that the product was out of stock but clearly they were lying as you could still order the product from their website. They only refund me part of my money back and still fighting for the rest. This retailer is an F
These people are a bunch of scammers. NEVER order from them! Please read other reviews. I, myself, should have read them before I placed an online order. Many, many customers have said the same thing.
I placed an order back in August. Never received it. It was returned in the middle of the delivery process. I NEVER requested a return. I contacted customer service, which you can only do via email, text and live chat, you can't talk to them directly. Several emails have been exchanged since beginning of September. They said they would give me a refund and I still have not received it. It has been over TWO months since I placed an order. It is currently mid October. This is ridiculous. Something needs to be done. I would give them a zero if I could! No wonder they don't have anymore stores.

I went to buy my GF a watch from here for Christmas. After paying for the watch on Sunday, them processing my order on Monday, then giving me a shipping date of Friday, they cancelled my order on Thursday. What store does that?
I will be taking my business to Amazon. This is why the American department store is on the decline and they are all going out of business. Reliability is key.
Ordered a dress for a wedding ….delivery 4-7 days….after 12 days and several emails I was told there was no inventory and my order had been cancelled….the dress is still on their site in my size with "in stock" on it! I only knew of this cancellation because I persisted.
Now I await with trepidation my credit card being reimbursed. Do NOT buy from them.
Bad Reviews are many…complaints…run from no product to no reimbursements after being told a reimbursement was coming! I believe this is a scam site!
Don't walk... run from Lord and Taylor Online. I placed an order for five items and three of the items are being sent from different stores with separate Fedex tracking numbers.
I just received an order that was supposed to be earrings and a belt. I received the belt and no earrings. I called customer service and they told me that someone will call me within seven days. Unbelievable!
I'm calling my VISA bank and putting a stop to the payment and will be sending the bloody belt back!" I will never do business with them again... online or inshore!
For gold standard customer service, these people need to follow Barneys and Nordstroms lead.
Update: Received a call from Lord and Taylor one month later to discuss my issue. I told them that my bank had credited my card three weeks earlier. Unbelievable!
I am frustrated and very disappointed! The order I placed online will not reach me in time for the event I need to attend. I bought the garments online because the website led me to believe that I would get them in plenty of time prior to when I needed them. The reality... slow to pick and pack, slow in transit. Now I need to scramble to get to a brick and mortar store, because the shipment most likely won't get here in time. I have always had success in Lord & Taylor stores when shopping for special occasions, but the dot com experience was the absolute worst. I told the customer service rep this on the phone, but I want to be sure the L & T website people get this message. Never again. I know to get in my car or shop online elsewhere.
Terrible customer service. No phone number to speak to someone and don't bother with express shipping. You can order something in China with the slowest shipping and it will arrive faster than if you order from them. I ordered a dress for an event, no tracking for days and I email customer service. They tell me they will refund the express shipping of it doesn't come in time. The day of the event, still no tracking and I email to cancel the order. A week later, I get a notification from my credit card that I'm getting charged for the full amount. Such unnecessary hassle.
I ordered in January and it's already may and I haven't received my orders! I have been contacting customer service and they never resolved my situation, I asked for refund and I was ignored! I do not recommend this site!
I ordered a dress from L&T less than 5 minutes of my order I called and emailed them to cancel the order. I realized that I had ordered the dress before and I did not like it. We left the Country for 3 weeks (September/October) we returned on Oct 6 and I had surgery the end of October. They shipped the dress but no instructions on how to return. I reached out to them to return the dress. They said you can not return after 14 days (their website said 30 days) no one was willing to help. The dress never should have been shipped because I contacted them with less than 5 minutes and asked them to cancel the order. Do NOT order anything from this company! They are not good at business. The dress was over $500 and now I am stuck with something that I don't like. I am extremely disappointed in their lack of customer service!
Placed an order online for a Medium size coat, received a large. It says medium on the invoice, nobody bothered to check. Called to correct it, the item was sold out. The outsourced customer service was telling me how to return online only, when it says in the invoice I was holding that I can return to store also. I had a previous bad shipping experience with them before but decided to give them another chance. Never again.
I purchased a pair of shoes and when they arrived I didn't like the color so I didn't even take the out of box. I returned them the next day and I received an email that they received them on June 5th. On July 5th I finally got a response to my email looking for my refund. They informed me that the shoes were damaged when they received them on june 5th and I can't have my money back. I can't get anyone on the phone. I can't even get a response to my emails after I was told about not getting my money back. This is such bad customer service. They are making me give them a star to submit this review. I don't think they deserve a star. Also the company filed bankruptcy and it's probably bc of the way they do business.
I ordered 4 pairs of shoes for a wedding. Three were damaged, I kept one pair. After putting me through hell making me prove with photos that they were damaged they agreed that I would not be charged shipping and that they would credit me for the erroneously charged tax. The total of my return was $212 and they credited me for only 1 pair when all 3 pairs were in the same box! Plus they deducted the shipping and they did not credit me the tax. After 3 months and 19 emails I am still owed $162. I will probably have to go to small claims court! Will never shop at lordandtaylor.com again.
There is no phone number for Customer Service. They give you 3 options: texts, chat, email. Chat is not functioning; it's impossible to get an agent through Chat. They do not return emails or texts. Extremely strange! It's not poor Customer Service. It seems that Customer Service doesn't exist. You are on your own if you need help!
I placed an order on-line for a pair of Hugo Boss swim shorts on September 25th and as of today they never arrived. I have contacted via email and text chat and they are useless. This is over 3 weeks now. I would never order anything again from them.
I purchased a pair of Veja tennis shoes. Had never before shopped with Lord and Taylor. I was supposed to receive a 30% discount for first time buyers. This never happened and I was charged the full amount. I contacted the "chat" customer service; I received an automated reply that someone would contact me; this never happened. I tried again to contact the customer service but with no results. I will NEVER again shop at Lord and Taylor. It is no wonder that they had to close their brick and mortar building if my experience with them is any indication of their customer service. This store doesn't even deserve 1 star but you are forced to provide at least one star.
The customer service is terrible. I had a missing item from my order and they told me they could not help me. The item was costly and I will be contacting my credit card company. Stay away from Lord and Taylor as I am sure they will be out of business given their awful rating.
Totally a scam. I bought a ''gucci'' Marmont bag and it's totally false. How dare they deceive people. I paid more than 1400 dollars and now they don't even answer the email I sent them to send the return label It is possible that I found another bag with the same serial number, that is not possible, how could it happen, only that it is false and I found several defects in the bag, which should not have happened either
Answer: Lord & Taylor was reputable until they were purchased by Le Tote in the Fall of 2019. The store and website have gone downhill in quality and customer service since that purchase. Customer service is now based in the Philippines for L&T and Le Tote. They are impossible to deal with. In my personal experience they have committed fraud by not honoring their published return policy and are as good as criminals for accepting a return of merchandise AND keeping my money. I am continuing to fight and now contacting the Division of Consumer Affairs. I already have an open case against them with the Better Business Bureau
