Don't buy an E gift, trying to safe you a time. I didn't like having made the purchase of an e-gift. The reason for doing so was to receive the email between 2 and 4 hours. I had a certain urgency. So far I have not received the email. (wrong choice I made)
Any chance to get it today?
A summer pair of shoes came apart. As instructed by customer service by phone a photo was taken and submitted. After 8 emails back and forth and 4 phone calls to complete the process (that dropped due to a new phone system) I had at least 6 people involved, each asking to explain the same thing / situation over again. One very kind lady Susan had everything in order and was processing the replacement when the phone connection dropped again. I sent an em asking that a return call be done after their system was working. In reply another person jumped in who knew nothing of the situation and said 'quick return' for the shoes after you purchase the new ones. I didn't have the shoes with me since the 'photo' was all that was suggested initially and were not btainable for a while. Sorry customer service system that doesn't honor their verbal statements while I've been upfront and honest. Poor rating.
This is not my fathers LLBEAN. I've heard the stories of quality goods guaranteed for life
But now you need to go to Eddie Bauer (or even Target) to get a company that stands behind it's products. Prices are about the highest I've seen for standard quality and shipping costs seem to be among the highest among competing brands.
Apparently management nearly drove the company into the ground tolerating bogus returns from the garage/resale set of scum they had as customers. They found a simple solution that probably will not work long term which is to rip people off moving forward.
Newsflash: Look at your reviews you has been, down East dinosaur of a company.
I bought a wool sweater. I wanted to take it hiking with me. The sweater looks nice but have hole in it not tight weaving. $80 I never use. I heard they are a outdoor store. They need to say we're it it made too.
Fast Service, Free shipping. Order hiking boots that have lasted 15 year! Fit like a dream those finally wore out. Had a second pair in the box. They fit like a dream. They are great with returns.
Good Quality products.
Such great customer service! I grew up in Maine and have been familiar with L. L. Bean all my life. This past Christmas, my fiance ordered me a pair of women's size 9 slippers from L. L. Bean online but they accidentally mailed men's size 10. So I went into the store and asked if I could trade the men's size 10 for the size I was supposed to get. Even though my fiance originially bought the slippers on sale and they were no longer doing the same sale, the cashier (I can't remember her name!) made up the difference so I did not have to pay anything. She was very nice and worked quickly to make sure I got the ones I wanted :) I've never had a bad experience there!
The outer layer came off one wheel of my L. L. Bean Rolling Adventure Duffle, and the wheel on the other side is cracking. Customer Service says L. L. Bean does not repair these bags nor does it have replacement wheels. The company recommends I take the duffel to a luggage shop. I expect a company with such a venerable reputation to stand behind the products it sells. I am disappointed with both the durability of the Rolling Adventure Duffle and with L. L. Bean's response.
The rest of the service industry could learn a thing or two from LL Bean. To say they stand behind their products is an understatement. I bought a waterproof jacket from them and when it started to not be so waterproof, over a year later, they replaced it no questions asked. They stand behind their products for the life of the product - hard to beat that sort of guarantee.
Super On-line Web; outstanding call-in; this is the place you hope would be your support for purchasing; these guys have it right. The products are super but the service to the customer is what we wish all sites would be,
A loyal buyer for 37 years
Upset with the return policy, use to be no questions asked on their products. Well today I brought in two pairs of bean boots, one pair was a Christmas gift. The lady behind the counter made me feel like I was a criminal, she couldn't find proof of me purchasing them there. And of course being a bean product I never kept any receipts. So I'm stuck with two pairs of ripped out bean boots. So they have lost me as a customer.
I was on my way home on my cousin Enrique Hernandez's birthday when I forgot to buy the 2 gallon bag of beans at Costco. I hastefully searched Bing for the best beans I could find online to deliver right to my doorstep. I stumbled upon this site and needless to say, there were no beans. On the bright side, I did get my step daughter a bright pink book bag with her name on it so she would hate me just a little less.
I placed an order three days ago online and it hasn't even shipped yet very unusual therefore my items will not be here before I go to on vacation!
I've just tried to call customer service and told that I could be on wait for at least 10 minutes I've never had a voicemail pick up my call from L. L. Bean!
I never thought I would say I'm getting better customer service and shipping from Amazon than L. L. Bean, very disappointed loyal, long time customer!
In spite of "issues" with abuse of guarantee and return policy, I have yet to be made whole for defective chamois shirts and other items that didn't hold up, need repairs and / or replacement. There should be a better, honorable way of addressing and dealing with exchange and/or repairs of LL Bean merchandise previously sold. Workmanship < OK, and < satisfactory.
I ordered slippers on Dec7 as a Christmas present, I received them on
Jan 31, The quality was not the normal standard from Bean, It is now
Over priced, low quality merchandise. That has to be the reason Bean has
Changed the warranty, which seems to be worth little anymore. I would
Send these back, but they charge $6 to return. I can buy chinese goods cheaper elsewhere with much better customer service. I have been a customer for over 40 years, no more.
I have been a LL bean customer for many year. I have purchased ll bean products mostly because of there return policy. I recently went into the store to return a $260 jacket a bought 6 years ago. It had very little wear but when I went to use it this year the zipper broke. I wanted to exchange it for a new jacket. They said I would "put on a list for no more returns" I was very disappointed by this news because I have payed thousands of dollars to this company. I have only purchased items from this company based on that policy and now that it has changed I will no longer support there business. I advise people to support Patagonia or North Face which have a better customer service and support good causes.
I am disappointed that L. L. Bean is changing their return policy, but I respect their right to do so and ultimately blame the people who abused the intent of the policy. However, when I purchased items there was a lifetime satisfaction policy and that, in part, justified the prices for the products I purchased. Based on the change in policy, I feel completely justified in returning all recent purchases, that are all well within the 1-year time period of the new return policy and for which I have receipts. If you expect me to purchase items in the future, you will have to adjust your prices to reflect something that is sold with a 1-year return policy. I have no interest in arguing or reaching an mutually agreeable settlement for older items, if I am not completely satisfied with the product.
I purchased three shirts from LLBean. Two of the items were exactly the same except for color. I was allowed to exchange the shirt with very tight sleeves at no charge. When I received the replacement it fit like a tent. I ordered a small, I am not tiny, about perfect size for my weight and height. The material is fine but size is not correct. I returned the shirt, I paid the postage but LLBean still deducted $6.95 for returning it. I would not buy from this company again
I don't do outdoorsy things and their clothing (even petite) isn't cut well for my height/stature so I don't shop there normally but I needed waterproof gloves to potentially a) hack ice from the wind shield b) clear snow from the windows/roof and c) shovel snow! I have literally, child sized hands so it's hard for find adult gloves to fit me and not many come in xs. So, I came across a model on the ll bean site and it was on sale so I ordered it (free shipping). Alas, it was too big and bulky - even for normal female hands so I had to return it in store. Despite paying using PayPal, they were able to refund a credit card I had linked to PayPal. So in conclusion, although nothing fit properly buying online from them and returning an item was hassle free!
No company does this any more. I forgot why I did not return the first item that did not fit well a few years ago. The pants I just bought fit, but are so uncomfortable there is no way I can wear them. Now I have to pay to return them. Last time I order for me.
I LOVE their return policy and I bought my mother a jacket that did not fit her. I was able to easily return it and while they did not have her size in that color, they offered me a refund. That is just fine. However, I have been waiting on this refund for a month. I purchased with a credit card so it would be possible to just electronically remedy this. However, they are sending a check. The check they first sent was off by $100. I still have not received the remaining refund. I actually DO think I will see that money, it's just that this entire transaction seems absolutely too slow for 2017.
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
