Compare to their extremely ignorant and ineffcient customer service, poor quality of their products is nothing. They messed up two orders' refund in the same month, and still won't refund my money after another month. I asked the customer service representitive David to simply refund me through paypal, which is how I paid for my order. He answered he doesn't know anything about paypal and it's impossible. He also try to blame me for their mistakes. I still don't have my money up to today. It's really something you won't believe that is happening in 2018.
In addition to horrible customer service, Ll Bean sells services that they do not fulfill. Just spent over 40 minutes waiting for a customer service representative to help me with an order. I paid $15 extra for expedited shipping then learned that the day before my merchandise was due to arrive, it hadn't left the warehouse. When I asked to cancel my order, Customer Service told me they didn't have the ability to do so. Had to wait another 15 or so minutes to speak to a supervisor who told me they no longer have expedited shipping (yet they took my $15 to pay for it) and that they can't guarantee that my order can be cancelled. What the heck?! I'm done with Ll Bean.
Placed an order for a fly rod on 11/13/2017 and I had already planned a fishing trip starting from 11/22/2017 to 11/25/2017. The order is still processing and no expected delivery date available. Ruined fishing trip, ruined vacation, and probably going to lose a customer permantley. Should of learned my lesson from the first time. Very sad week: (
LL Bean makes very poor quality duck boots. Wore them for 3 months and the seams already ripped and the tread on the bottom were gone. Went to send them back and they said they were not replacing them due to "accessive wear on them". They don't stand behind their product and if I were you, I would never buy their cheap and garbage products.
Bought a fleece for my grandson here and it was too big. He tried it on (said "uck" because he thought it was ugly) sent it back in its original wrapping - and they sent me a gift card even though I wanted a refund. Then they argued with me about their return policy. I will never, ever buy anything from these thieves ever again.
LL Bean is no longer honoring the policy of no questions asked returns. I have no problem with them changing their policy on goods purchased from this point forward but for goods purchased under the original return policy they should continue to honor the policy in place at the time of the original purchase. Anything else is fraud, in my opinion. When you sell WalMart-quality goods at 3 to 4 times the WalMart price points, you should expect some returns when quality is not up to snuff.
My husband and I have bought shoes at LL Bean for years. We spend over $100 per pair. Unfortunately we have found that they typically only last a year or less. We went to return shoes today and the service was horrible. We had to call customer service who was very helpful. I wouldn't recommend anyone buying stuff there as you pay a lot and since their new return policy, they don't stand behind their products. You are better off going to a shoe store and buying cheap shoes that you won't care if they only last a year!
I married into a New England family and everybody reveres L. L. Bean, almost like a cult :) But once I started to go in pilgrimage to their Freeport, ME store I got hooked. Good quality product, best refunds policy, very helpful staff.
It used to be that LL Bean service exceeded all others. I ordered some items a week ago and the status still says In Progress. I called Customer Service and was greeted with a busy signal. I tried Chat and it told me the expected wait time was 60 minutes. What has happened to LL Bean.
I decided to invest in a capsule wardrobe my first choice was llbean. I ordered a linen shirt I washed it as said and noticed after the first wash the stitching was horrible. I ordered another linen shirt from the company everlane and took a photo side by side of the difference in stitching the quality is amazing different! I had to pay $10 more but the everlane shirt is going to last much much longer without a doubt. Needless to say I did not go with llbean for my capsule wardrobe I will never order from them again. I will continue to purchase from ethical companies like everlane that take pride in their quality not their wallet! The white linen shirt is from everlane the blue one is from llbean need I say more!
Ordered October 14 arriving to Tennessee October 22. Always slow. This is hard to deal with in a world where Amazon offers two day shipping. Even if you pay for expedited shipping it is slower than two day.
Pretty simple, I ordered two shirts and placed the order! 5 minutes later, I wanted to add another shirt to the order! Three different customer service reps put me through hell! I'm done with LLBean. Its not the same!
I just love shopping at L L Bean. Freeport is also an awesome destination. So happy that they will ship to Canada and not try to gouge us with high shipping and handling costs. Love their shoes. So comfortable.
Ordered a backpack they said would be delivered in 6 days. Got an email that said it would deliver on the 6th day. On the 7th day, no delivery. Called LL. Bean and was told the item was out of stock. Sorry. I received no email or no call although they had the information. I would never shop here again with such horrible service.
Its a shame, they used to be a great company. No more!
LLBean has earned its awesome reputation from being a quality clothier with quality service. Their clothing is top line and lasts forever. Backpacks and travel gear is exactly what you need and are looking for. 100% money back guarantee and returns are super easy. Phone orders are simple and you always get a live person.
They have the best customer service on earth. I have been purchasing from them for about 20 years and they stand behind everything they sell. Their customer service agents have stand-out courtesy. Nordstrom employees are polite like LLbean but they are paid commission. LLBean is courteous just because that is who they are. No, I don't work for the company - they are in Maine and I am in California. I have an LLBean card as well - free shipping for returns is a great benefit.
I've lived in Maine for a out 40 yrs. And have bought many items from llbean because I knew whatever I purchased would be of the highest quality. I've spent about $300 in the past 2 years on slippers from them and I refuse to spend anymore money with them. Lately, I get more quality for less money at Walmart.
I wore $90 LL Bean Boots 10-12 times in 7 or 8 years and just putting them they split a main seam. (see Photo #1) no wear on soles and clear LL Bean logo (see Photo #2) and my wife's fell apart years ago too. Customer service is as crappy as the Boots when they tell you there is no remedy, you just have to eat it. They ended "lifetime warranty" during these years and I now I know why. Crappy products, crappy customer service, buyer BEWARE!
LLbean's site it easy to navigate. I like that they have reviews posted as I don't have a store in my state that I can check products out at. One waning though, be wary of items that don't have any reviews. I bought a purchase that listed no reviews, was disappointed by the product and wrote a review. 6 months later my review is still not listed on the website. In other words if a product has no reviews, it may have unpublished reviews that are all negative.
To those die-hard LL Bean customers, yes the company did get my review. They commented on it and tried to make things right. I was happy with their customer service, except that they kept my review a secret. This is dishonest in my mind.
My order was made 21 days ago and I only continually receive respnses saying they are sorry for the delay and are "updating their systems and warehouse"... I paid extra for expedited shipping so it was already unacceptable to give me a delivery date 12 days from the date of order, and now they can't even give me a hard shipping date. I get responses like "it's in the early stages of being picked for shipping"... Disrespectful and unacceptable. I will NOT order from them again and I suggest you don't either!
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
