LLBean has changed their credit card bank from Barclay to Citibank. They have badly mismanaged the change over. Bill was sent from Barclay card that could not be collected by them. I now have to chase Barclay card to find if they have the money... check with my bank to see if money was returned, give them the fax number to verify - if money is gone... and more. Their error has become my problem. Customer service rep at Bean's was unsympathetic and not particularly polite.
LLBean switched banks to handle their credit cards. This was not anything that any card holder could choose to opt out of. In the transition the old card company listed my account as closed. Because of this, I checked my credit score and saw that it had dropped 50 points. Now I have to dispute the issue with the credit bureaus and fight this issue on my own. Nobody is owning up to the issue. As a customer I am being punished for the mishandling of information from the credit card company and this is inexcusable. As a company, LLBean could not have displayed a more passive and careless attitude. I won't be using this card again and I will promptly be switching to other outdoor retailers for my clothing needs.
Received flannel shirt as gift. Had to return, wrong size. Called store (60 miles away). Voicemail stated open at 10:00 am. Drove there, door locked. Called store later, after opening. No apology or help. Call 800 customer service. Can't return unless I know specific name of person who purchased, I was incorrect on name of gift buyer. What a rigamarole. I yelled at the agent for her poor service and the store, again no apology. Told her I'd gift the shirt to a homeless shelter instead.
Their customer service is awful so I am assuming the brand overall has tanked. After spending 45 minutes (no exaggeration) on the phone with LL Beans customer service team I ultimately decided to not place the order with them. They were unable to offer me free expedited shipping after the hassle their system created after signing me out and not allowing me use the discount code for signing up for the MasterCard and getting approved. I plan to just close my LL bean credit card and never order with them.
On April 16 I ordered a couple items to take on vacation. Received a notice tonight one item - the swimsuit - has been shipped. Unfortunately, too late for my vacation. Foresaw this happening and purchased a great REEBOK swimsuit to take with me. Not going to patronize LLBean for a very long time and only if I can't find a similar item elsewhere. Who knows when the other items I ordered will arrive?
I am super stoked today. My kayak had started leaking while on a trip to Florida. I took it back to my local LL Bean store today and they provided me with a brand new boat at zero cost. They absolutely have a customer for life.

Would highly recommend to friends and family
I travel nearly 100 miles to go to the one L. L. Bean store in British Columbia. On the website they advertise plus size clothing and anybody who is plus size knows that's a hard thing to find in BC. When I got there I couldn't find any plus size clothes so I talk to the owner and guess what L. L. Bean never sent any plus size clothes to the store so don't waste your time going there. They're just like target and all the other American stores, we're getting a watered down version.
I've shopped at LL Bean for over 30 years because of the quality and durability of their products. Their products lasted for years e.g., tweed wool blazers, wool dress pants, solid leather belts, heavy cotton khakis, etc. I can now buy the same quality flannel shirts and khakis at Walmart, as sold by LL Bean, for a third of the price. I will seriously miss LL Bean, especially at Christmas. I use to buy most of my Christmas gifts from them and you knew you were giving quality gifts.
Trapped in its own failure, Llbean has lost the fundamentals of what constitutes a good employer. Wrapped up in the trappings of the huge profit machine that it has become, employees are coming and going having felt the frustrations of an organization on par with Walmart. Leaving a trail of disillusioned short termed workers, they're a disgrace and don't deserve to exsist!
L. L. Bean was always such a great company to do business with. Good products, discounts offered often enough for comfort and best of all, very good order processing and shipping time.
I am trying to figure out why L. L. Bean told PayPal they processed my order on October 11th because here it is the evening of the 17th and the order is not only not shipped, it's still waiting to be processed!
What happened to the L. L. Bean we all knew and loved? Why the drastic changes in customer service, and not for the better?
NOT the quality company and products that it WAS. Purchased this Premium Dog Beds Couch Denim Large on March 20,2019 for our medium-sized Shepherd/Lab rescue and he fell in love with it! Loves the bolsters and "goes to bed" easily every night. Even though it is DIFFICULT to un-stuff and re-stuff to wash the cover, it was worth it. Today, while 'making his bed' I noticed a 1.5" tear - it is not a chew. Probably just his jumping into bed. Quality is not what I was let to believe for a $200-plus bed. Silly me! Customer service could do nothing. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality of the product and the after-service in such a short time. I thought the LL Bean denim heaviness would last YEARS... Oh well.
My order was placed a month ago with all items being available, although the delivery date was two weeks out. The order wasn't delivered as scheduled; I called to find out what was up and was told they were working on it. A few days later I sent an email, only to find out that none of the items were available and my order had been cancelled. I'm done with this company!
I recently ordered a pair of slippers that did not fit even though I followed LL Bean's sizing recommendations. In order to exchange them, I had to pay the shipping to send the slippers back and then the shipping to have a new pair reshipped. In today's mail order retail economy, this is a terrible shipping policy. As a result, I returned the slippers and will not order another size and LL Bean will totally lose this sale. There are plenty of other retailers who make quality slippers without the personal cost of all that shipping.
Lets fist say, I have bought thousands of dollars of products over the years from 'll bean
And have promoted there name to literally everyone I know. And have lately discovered just how shady they trully are.
I ordered a lounge shirt for my girl and a 135 dollar axe for my son for xmas. The shirt arrived the axe. Did not. The tracking said "delivered" I waited 2 days and emailed them. They assured me the problem was fixed and the axe would arrive in time for Xmas. Another day and I got an email stating the order was canceled! Now have to wait another week to get a refund. Very disappointed with this company and I might even give away all my bean gear. I will never speak their name or promote anything from them again.
Ps would give a 0 if possible
Almost fell out of my chair this morning. The Bean heirs are now so greedy that they are now distribution their cheap LL Bean products through other retailers. Want to buy some cheap Chinese Bean outdoor gear at your local Staples office supply store? You're going to be able to... no kidding. And their products will a
So be sold at Sheels and other outlets. First, they trashed the quality of their goods, then they raised the prices... for many of the same products you can get at Walmart, but with a Bean Tag sewn in. For someone raised on the old Quality LLBean, this HURTS.
As a long time customer, I am not happy with an issue I had with placing an order through the 800 number. Customer Relations was not at all helpful and did not resolve the issue. Customer satisfaction is no longer a priority. I spoke to a "supervisor," and she did nothing to resolve the issue.
I am sorry to say that LL Bean has lost a long time customer. I have been shopping there for more than 35 years.
I am very disappointed in LL Bean.
Have a LL bean Gift card. Tried to pay for a web order with the gift card and there is no place to enter the card. I called Customer service and they confirmed that you cannot use the gift card either US$ or CDN$ on the site to pay for product. You must use the card in their brick and mortar store? Because the customer service is so negative at the local store I will not be going there anytime soon
I bought my nephew, a book bag less than a year ago actually for last Christmas I've been fighting with them to replace it because the zipper broke on it and everything else and they're saying it's original wear and tear on it and I think that's bull$#*!. I think that they should fix it or replace it and then they also said that they don't make that book bag anymore if they're not going to make that book bag anymore why not replace it with something else right I paid $200 for that book bag and I will not shop here again ever again never ever again. This place is just a scam.
Good old reliable LL Bean! Find products online especially sheets from LL Bean for years and extremely happy with the results. They carry excellent products and have a good customer service for returning items!
Answer: Nope. But I have heard the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band's Gorilla album and it's my fav.
Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
