I was frequently online and I was struggling to find the job that would really match what I specialized in from college. I was growing hopeless about this of course during those times. The lucky thing is that I found out about this site called as Live Career. If you are on a predicament on what would be the best job for you, try checking out Live Career web pages that I have seen already.
It was voted as one of the most outstanding employment and professional services website as well as one of the top 100 employment website. LiveCareer.com continually delivers more favorable answers and assistance to jobseekers that are looking for the right career path.
There are many web based sites that would offer us help in finding the ideal jobs but then I would say that there is nothing that could match the capability of LiveCareer. You should check it out and benefit like the way that I did.

Writing a resume on their site was ok, just don't dare forget to cancel the subscription right away or you will have the re-accruing charges posted to your credit card each month! Didn't see the charges coming through till 6 months accrued also did not get any emails after the first month (i. E. they want you to forget that you are paying for services you are not taking advantage of). Their customer service was willing only to waive 3 months even though they provided no services to me since creating one resume. Very poor customer experience overall. I know there are better services out there now that do care about what is right and wrong. STAY AWAY FROM LIVE CAREER!

Hi Gary H.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our site and customer service. The details of our subscription are listed on our sales page, and we also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal upon purchase. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

The refund was given as a courtesy credit.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing and Customer Service team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I used this website as a test by buying a cover letter. After that i had no plan using it anymore, but i was surprised that the subscription fees had been deducted from my bank account as i forgot to cancel my subscription.

So i contacted the customer service using the live chat and they were very cooperative.
They refunded the amount right away after explaining the situation!

Recommended for anyone who wants to use this website.

Awesome Alex
June 12, 2016

I called in expecting to receive generic, "how can I help you get off the phone as quickly as possible" help. I was pleasantly surprised at how patient and kind Alex was as he helped me submit my resume for review, format my resume and generally put my mind at ease. Alex is a true gem and you are fortunate to have him as an employee. I certainly valued his time and effort, I certainly hope you do too.

Terrified after reading these reviews, I cancelled my subscription early and realized I was charged for international processing so I was charged another $2.00 in the fine print.
I called today to cancel and also cancelled online, however it seems most of you have as well and were still charged. I will be contacting my bank ASAP! I hope to have a better outcome and will gladly post a positive review if so.

Dear Danielle,

I apologize for any misunderstanding, but as an international company, LiveCareer processes payments through LiveCareer UK, Ltd. with its offices in London, England. Some banks charge an international transaction fee, even when the charge is in US dollars. These fees are charged by your bank and not LiveCareer. You can see the Information regarding International transaction on the email confirmation we sent right after purchase.
We also explain that the subscription is auto-renewing, underneath the description of the subscription in bullet form, as well as in the confirmation email you receive once you subscribe. When you cancel your service, we also send confirmation email stating your account has been successfully cancelled, if you haven’t received any cancellation email please give us a call and we will honor this in full extent.

You can also contact our customer service team for help! We are available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com. We also list our contact information on our "Contact Us" and "About Us" Pages on our site.

Rip Off
December 7, 2015

This site is a rip off. Do not provide them with your credit card information!

Update to review: The company did end up contacting me and offered to refund the amount they posted to my card. I did incur some insignificant international VISA charge but at least they did the right thing for me on the larger amount. I do appreciate that.

Avoid this website!
November 11, 2014

Avoid this website! They have you pay a nominal fee (a few dollars) to download your resume, but add you onto a $40/month subscription at the same time that auto renews. They claim this is very clearly laid out, but it is not - considering the other people who have had the same problem, they obviously have a very loose idea of what very clearly laid out is. Even going to their website, I could not find out what this subscription was for. Plus - $40/month for a resume building site? Who honestly believes they get a $40/month value out of a resume building site? A very dishonest way of duping people who are quite obviously seeking employment out of their money. I am extremely dissatisfied and I will be sure to tell everyone I know, as well as random internet sites such as this how displeased I am with their dishonest and shady practices. Better Business Bureau is next on my list of those to contact.

Hi Lisa S.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. All of our subscriptions are auto-renewing if not cancelled. A monthly subscription makes it easy for our customers to customize the resume and cover letter for each position for which they are applying, and also to avoid interruption on the service. The auto-renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. You were also sent an email confirmation of the purchase that also listed the monthly rate and the date that your subscription would auto renew. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings if service is no longer needed.

Our record shows that your account has been refunded the amount of $ 39.80 on November 9 by one of our representatives. You'll see it on your bank statement within 2-3 business days. We have also sent you a confirmation email for your records.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing Team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

I unfortunately was billed due to an ex using my card for their resume trial and was told he cancelled it. Here we are and I've been charged due to him giving me false information. BUT, with their live chat I was helped by Karla P. & given EXCELLENT customer service! After a few easy steps and information needed by her I was thankfully able to get my refund! :)

Livecareer is a SCAM, I thought I was paying for a one off $2.95 resume. The
SCAM is in the fine print, which I did not see (apparently like a lot of other people) because it is not obvious (very underhanded and rude). I like some other people get 3 monthly bank statements, this is when I discovered the deception, $34.95/ month was being taken from me by livecareer. I e-mailed immediately and cancelled. They e-mailed back to confirm cancellation. I have tried to e-mail them back 5 separate times (Civilised e-mails), but have had no response. This is b/s, and I want my money back form these fraudsters. A lot of people using this service are looking for a job, and don't have money to throw away on scam artists. I expect a response along the lines of - Thanks for your response. People don't like to be treated like fools.

Dear Darren,

We take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to. It is not in fine print, but we stated the cost in bold and clear print and stated the details of the subscription options in bullet form, which can be clearly understood. Aside from these details, we also sent a payment confirmation email stating the amount of what you have subscribed for and the date of the auto-renewal.

We apologize if you have not received any responses from the 5 emails that you’ve sent, but we ensure that every email sent is answered on a timely manner, however we provide several ways to cancel a subscription: By calling our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week; by live chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section.

We would appreciate if you would call our customer service staff. We would very much like to follow up with you so that we may track the issues you are having.

We look forward to hearing from you.

The resume builder is excellent and really helps you to set up specific resumes for different types of job applications. My complaint is that they call it "free" and then after you spend and hour or so building your resume they tell you there is a charge. The charge screen clearly states that there is an auto renewal at $9.95 per week that is taken once per month but that you can cancel any time or there is a $7.95 per month fee that you pay yearly, up front and requires a one year commitment. I believe that paying $94.00 to create as many different resumes as you desire with professional quality is an appropriate charge but $40 per month is not-unless you are at the Executive level.

Dear Jeannine,

Thanks for your comments and we appreciate your feedback.
Our free account gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchase. If you like what you see, we ask you to pay for a subscription. The ability to print, email, or download your resume are only listed as a feature of the paid subscription and are not listed as a feature of the free trial. We're sorry for any confusion.

We listed different prices variation based on our customers need. The reason we have it on a monthly subscription is because many of our customers continue to use our service for several months during their entire job search. For best chances at getting a job, we do encourage users to create a customized cover letter and tailor their resume for each job they apply to. A monthly subscription to Resume Builder makes tailoring, customizing, and creating cover letters really easy and fast.

If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com.

OMG!
February 1, 2014

OMG! I wish my daughter and her husband had read all of these reviews before they decided to use this scam artist's site. I'm glad I don't have "Anna B."'s job to answer all of these terrible reviews. I thought I had a chance to get a refund for 3 months of being charged $34.95 before I read these reviews. Wow. How does one put a stop to these fraudulent on-line companies. I don't even have to write my experience with this money-sucking company... the reviews are all the same as mine. Wow.

Dear JoAnn,

Thanks for your comments.

We have hundreds of thousands of grateful and satisfied customers who have found their perfect job due to an outstanding resume and cover letter that was created on our site. Those same people saw that if they didn’t cancel their subscription within 14 days (we clearly state on the sales confirmation page, as well as the payment confirmation e-mail we send to each and every customer a customer’s auto-renewal date) they would be billed at the monthly rate of $34.95. They also saw that cancellation is extremely easy, as we give our subscribers multiple ways to cancel their subscription at any time.

RIP OFF
August 18, 2015

Tried to sign up for the cheapest service and it signed me up for $100 a year that they would not refund. So, I got to download a resume template for $100. Then they snuck an email through that did not go into my primary mailbox saying that I had to cancel by 7/7/15 to not be billed again. 1 and a half months later I notice the charge on my credit card during a time when I really need the money. Thanks! So of course they would not refund the money. Do yourself a favor and just download a template online for free. This company is a SCAM. Useless.

What a way to steal money "Professionally" I give a 5 stars on that...
I used this site to create a letter and I deleted my account right after. And no even a two weeks later I've been charged $35 because the automatic renewal... I don't recommend the site. I give a 1 star because there's not 0 star.

Dear Lilly,

Thank you for bringing this matter to us and we apologize for the misunderstanding. Just to clarify, Livecareer Resume builder offers an introductory subscription of $3.95 for 14 days, which has an auto-renewal feature and we make every effort to let you, our subscriber, know that unless you call, e-mail or live chat with a LiveCareer representative to cancel your subscription, it will renew for our low price of $34.95 a month. If you don’t want to use any of our customer service options that we’ve listed, we also have a cancellation feature right on our website. Deleting the account on site will delete your account details, but you still need to cancel to stop further charges.

Again, Lilly, we make every effort to let our subscribers know of this auto-renewing feature – we have it in print when you subscribe and we even e-mail you those details when we send your payment confirmation for the 14 day trial.

If you have any questions regarding your subscription, our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com
