I was just looking for a free template. After I worked for hours on a resume-I got to the page where you had to pay. After working that hard I went ahead and gave them my credit card information. Then found out there was a monthly fee. It took me hours more just to get the account closed. This is a scam. Don't fall for it
Natalie, was a big help! I needed a resume ASAP! But my subscription was no longer active. She helped me get updated and explained all the current features so that I can get this thing done in about an hour with all the template and bullet options at a rate that I can afford. Thanks again Natalie... liza :)
Way to make our day, Liza!
Though I regret forgetting her latest name I was helped by Maria Teresa, something. She was very kind and patient, at one point I did get snappy but instead of snapping back she was patient with me and her customer service didn't faulted, we eventually we resolved my problem. You're fortunate to have her on your customer service team!
Hi Daisy G:
We are thrilled that you were pleased with our resolution about your request. We are committed to providing great customer service.
Thank you so much for your awesome feedback!

I've always used LiveCareer. Like... for years now. The only thing that is super frustrating is that it is sometimes impossible to format the resume correctly. I'm looking for a new job.again...and LiveCareer is always here waiting for me with great suggestions for revisions. My wish would be for custom formatting so that I can make adjustments. Thank you!

A few months ago I visited this site to write a resume, even if you don't use their services they keep billing you. Not a helpful website at all, more concerned with keeping the money they had charged me than to come to a resolution on the over charging. The amounts they were charging me changed as well. It was like they were charging me whatever they could get by with me not noticing. I am going to have to cancel my card and order a new one so they will stop charging me.
Hi Susan H.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. I would appreciate if you would contact me directly with the email address you used to create your account so that we can resolve this issue quickly for you. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com
I look forward to hearing from you.

Basically, I paid a few dollars for a resume and they charged me close to $40, which over drew the account I used and cost me even more money. Really? I do appreciate the accessibility of the customer service, but I am still waiting on that refund that hasn't come yet.
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.
Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s cancelled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. There are times that auto emails can get picked up as spam or junk mail. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder.
We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. You can email me at customerservice@livecareer.com

I had made a lovely resume that landed me a job. When i called to cancel, my customer service rep. Was great! Very friendly, offered other suggestions, and completed the process efficiently. I would use the service again.

Simply put, I was billed for something I have no idea would happen. It was some negligence on my part but Norma Angeles assured me that they would take care of the issue and in no time I was told that I am reimbursed. Had a whole speech planned and all.
Hi Joshua,
We are very happy to know that Norma was able to resolve everything for you. Thank you for taking the time to review our services, it makes us change the way we do things. Please feel free to contact us if you need anything in the future.

When you do a resume on their site you may think your making a one time purchase but you are not. You will be charged a $50 on your credit card at the end of each month until you realize you have to go back to the site account and cancel your subscription. In my case they ripped off a paraplegic gentleman who lost his job. They also go under the name of My perfect resume.
Greetings M O,
We are very sorry that you feel this way and had this experience with our services M O. We will be more than glad to assist you with your concern. We take all feedback very seriously. We have sent you a private message so we can assist you in a secure manner with the proper resolution.

Used live career one time (ages ago) to create an application and payed a small amount of money. To my surprise the company has been billing me a huge amount of money every single month without my permission and without me using their service at all! Shame on the company performance and policies!
Hope I can receive a refund of my money since I have not used their service. Any advice on how to apply for this would be much appreciated.
Hi Maria
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Shortly, you will receive a direct message, so we can better assist and look in to this situation. We need to ask you some information in order for us to identify your account and reach to a timely and secure resolution.
I found it generic, hard to build my resume with no options for someone with experience/history such as mine that doesn't fit into this current generic environment that employers supposedly use now for choosing/eliminating applicants for further review.
Thank you, Riffle, we're always open to suggestions for improvement, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with more of your feedback!
You advertised free resume template and builder and I tried to read your entire site to ensure I would not get charged so I could find a different free service, but no fee was mentioned. I am happy to spend money for a service if I am fully informed at the beginning. Right now I will pay for the 14 day service and will move on. You should be more transparent about your services and fees.
Hi Richard,
Please know that our site is free to use as are our templates. We give customers the option of continuing with our premium services if they are satisfied with the end result!
Truth is I am not happy that I have been charged $39.80 monthly and haven't utilized the service since the initial offering. So when I called I was a little upset. But David listened to me and understand my frustration and needs. He was always positive and helpful.
Hi Nancy:
Thank you for you great review! We are glad to hear that David was able to resolved your issue and offer you an excellent customer service. Please feel free to contact us in the future if you have questions or concerns.

This company is a scam, the auto renewal is ridiculous, and you can not find the info on it on their website. There is no money back guarantee as stated. I would not recommend this to anyone, beware and do not sign up or give them your visa.
Hi Angela B.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We take pride in providing effective and valuable career, resume and cover letter assistance to hundreds of thousands of people. Simply being straightforward, LiveCareer allows you to build a resume in a helpful, easy, and accessible format.
However LiveCareer charges 40 dollars monthly after you have printed out your resume. If you remember to cancel the subscription immediately, well then its worth it.
But if you happen to be like me, where you forget to cancel, well then you are essentially a money farm, as they will continually charge 40 dollars a month.
Did I agree to the terms and conditions? Yes I did. I didn't try to get my money back, I clicked Agree, I know what I am accountable for.
But if you happened to stumble upon this review, maybe think twice about using LiveCareer.
Hi Ian P.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. We explain that the subscription is auto-renewing. A monthly subscription makes it easy for our customers to customize the resume and cover letter for each position for which they are applying, and also to avoid interruption on the service. Customers can cancel at any time. We state on every page in the purchase process and we send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

I created my resume and cover letter on LiveCareer. The site has examples and plenty of wonderful templates. When I was ready to cancel (just because I do not need the service anymore at this time though I may go back in the future) then I had great service! They cancelled it right away (but I get the rest of my subscription days still! And then they saved my resume and letter in case I return :) love this site! Definitely recommend
Hi Hannah,
Thank you for your feedback about our product and for sharing your experience with our Customer Service. We strive to provide a great Customer Service experience with a one-stop resolution approach to any situation. If you need further help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I believe this company makes most of its money on people who do not understand or who forget that they will be billed $40/month. By the time you figure it out, you are several hundreds of dollars in the hole. I would avoid this service unless you are someone who will pay attention and cancel the service after the first use.
Hi Renee H.,

If you see this site opening in front of you just run!
This is just a scam not only the template and the process is deceptive. Once you bill the resume there is a problem with getting it in right format to your PC but the most important part is you will be tricked to pay subscription fee. You think you agree to minimum period to try, but then they automatically renew your subscription before you figure out that you still being billed $45 dollars is GONE from your account.
This is not professional site scums even the reviews are fixed. There is no way anybody could have a good experience with this.
I did try to cancel subscription you think you can not without calling and the operators are just not friendly and rude they know they GOT YOU

Charlie form down under
Dear Charlie,
Thanks for your comments.
We take great care in letting our customers know what they are subscribing to. We are very clear that when you subscribe there is an auto-renewing feature for which you can cancel anytime. If the subscription has not been cancelled, a monthly rate will be billed for $39.80. Aside from these details, we also sent a payment confirmation to the e-mail address you’ve use when you signed up, stating the amount of what you have subscribed for and the date of the auto-renewal.
Charlie, we also make cancelling really easy as we give 4 ways to cancel a subscription if service is no longer be needed: By calling our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week; by live chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section.
Please contact us as soon as possible so that we may resolve this issue.
Best regards,
LiveCareer
Please Stay away from ever using this website... it's not worth the hussle after they charge you for no reason. I used their site once for a resume and cover letter and paid their $1.95 I think. Then before 14 days my account was charged $40 and the following month. Calling them about they charges, they did not even have my account. So how can you charge my account without me existing in any of your records!. That means I cancelled. Their customer service people are so arrogant when it comes to asking for a refund. They will say anything to make stupid excuses for you never to get yo money back... am sure there are better sites than this... please save yourselves the theft of this company. Its a total scam.
Hi Mary K.,
I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with site and customer service. Please contact me directly with the last 4 digits of the card that was billed and card holder’s name so that we can resolve this issue quickly for you. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com

Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).
Answer: Do not use this site!
Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
Answer: Dont waste your time trying to contact them. I went to my bank and had all future billing refused AND I went to the State Attorney General and reported them.
Answer: Hello, Sarah - Thank you for getting in touch with us, our subscriptions are auto-renewing, we have a continuous billing feature that charges your account after the 14-day period and every month for the regular price afterward. However, if you are only interested in the 14-trial and wish to avoid any recurring charges simply cancel your subscription before beforehand. We hope that this helps clear things up for you, if you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know. Best regards, LiveCareer US
Dear Judy,
Thanks for your comments.
The free account is the ability to try out the Resume Builder to get a feel for how it works, and see what it has to offer before deciding to purchase. At this time we offer free text (. Txt) download of your resume, but if you want to print a resume to bring to an interview, email your resume/cover letter, or download a professional looking resume then you do need a subscription, which has recurring billing feature and you can cancel at any time.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we make cancellation really easy. We give you multiple ways to cancel your subscription; by calling our customer service number at 1-888-816-0576, 17 hours a day, 7 days a week; by live chat, by e-mail at customerservice@livecareer.com, or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section to avoid incurring this charge if service is no longer needed.
Best Regards,
Livecareer
