Credit to dollar ratio sucks, good luck even getting credits back on your shipping cost! I'm done selling until the credits comeback down! Ever since they instituted the sell your credit, the ratio has been going up. My guess is the power sellers sell their items in large chunk, turn around and set their credits for sale at a stupid ratio like 8500 to the dollar. But listia does not care they take 20% of the money you make from selling your credits. Hell even Ebay does not take 20% common already!
I listed a piece of furniture For Pick Up Only. A person on the other side of California bought it, and asked me to ship it to them. Really? Then gave me bad feedback for not shipping a desk 500 miles. Listia ignored my messages. I closed my account. Too many non-shippers and weird people. 5 out of 10 never shipped items. Too much inflation with the credit system, too.
Hi Gail. We're sorry to hear about this. If your auction was properly listed as local pick up only, there should not have been an issue with your feedback as long as you did not voluntarily refund the credits. We can look into this for you again if you'd like. Please submit a support ticket if you'd like further assistance.
Great so far. I did notice some of the negative feedback. In fairness if someone does not read the description or the shipping terms and ends up with something THEY misunderstood, that is not Listia's fault. If shipping says "digital" than it is a email not an actual item. Also, selling certain gift cards and getting suspended is also the users fault for not reading the terms and conditions. If a bidder does not receive what was stated credits will be returned. Important to READ and not get angry at a site for a personal mistake.
They allow minor children to do commerce to falsely inflate their enrollment numbers to sell ads, listia is run with no integrity, I do not believe they should allow "FU" bumper stickers, porn and knives to be sold to 8 years old from facebook, this site needs to be shut down and the people running it need to be arrested for fraud among other things. After I out this posting up, they suspended from their site, they stole over 118,000 of my credits. Go look up the lawsuit, where they had to pay for almost $200,000 in back pay for their employees, that tried to pay in their devalued "credits" and or called them volunteers, the people running this site are thieves from another country, they need to go the prison.
Mary B.,
I’m sorry to hear your feedback. As stated in our Terms of Service:
3. Membership Eligibility
This Site may be used only by persons 18 years of age or older. Listia makes no representations whatsoever regarding the suitability of any items exchanged through this Site.
We do not allow those under 18 to use our site and we take it very seriously. We do our best to make sure any users under 18 are removed from the site. We actively remove auctions that are against the rules as well and also use the assistance of our community to flag any auction that may seem inappropriate and/or against the site rules. We don’t claim to be perfect, but we do try our best to maintain a safe and fun marketplace. We appreciate your understanding and hopefully you will continue to use Listia as we appreciate our great users.
Sincerely,
Tom
Listia is where sellers go when they've been banned from all of the other selling sites/apps.
This site is credit based, not only will you be unable
To get a straight answer as to the dollar value of a
Listia Credit, credits change value randomly.
Example: One day they will be selling 10,000 credits for $4,
The next day it will be 5,000 credits for $6.
Dupes, fakes, & recipes that can be googled make up the bulk of the items being sold.
Customer support is slow, robotic & frustrating.
Hi Bails,
Thank you for your feedback. Like most marketplaces, our credit value is based on the economy of our site. We're actively monitoring the value of our credits and one of our top priorities is to try and keep it stable. We do hope you continue to use Listia and find some amazing things our users list :)
Awful awful site. It used to be good.
But they don't care about your privacy! Contacted them about it and they didn't even touch on it at all.
A lot of scammers on there & people putting recipes that they clearly took from other sites.
Run far away!
Yet another suspended account. My, husband and I share address (no $#*!?) and we have the same IP address (shocking, no?). I used his device and logged in... they banned his account but left mine... why his? My account had 5000 points... his had over 200,000...
Listia is a bunch of crooks being watched over by a small group of crooks...
Listia sucks... do NOT stockpile points--they WILL steal them from you somehow!
Hi Denise M,
Sorry to hear about this but there may have been a misunderstanding. So that we can look into this for you and your husband, can you please contact us here? We look forward to helping you get this resolved. https://help.listia.com/requests/new
Because Listia is selling credits for their gift cards up front of every other seller, you pay for shipping upfront from your pocket about 2.5 month before your credits are sold. Listia is selling cards digital delivery, so they have money right away and no need to pull any money out of their pocket. It is so ridiculous to even try to get friends involved with Listia, because I would feel guilty to send them such a unfair side! I'm with listia for about 5 years, but with in 2 month I will not put anything anymore, because they only wasting my own money! If you see reply on comments from listia, it is never to someone who is unhappy with Listia. I wish, they would give me explanation I deserve. Weekly I ship and pay with my money for shipping, in average $30-$35 from my pocket. Money for Credits I will get for these shipments in about 2 month!
I have been selling on Listia for a year now. I sell small items I no longer want or new gifts I can't return. It is a fun way to stay on top of clutter and earn points for things you do want. Start small, though. Shipping costs need to be factored in before you list. That is why I stick to small, lightweight items like jewelry and bookmarks.
Thanks for sharing your experience and tips, Lisa!
When I started on Listia at least a couple of years ago, credits were I believe worth about $1= 1000 credits, and they were fairly stable for quite a while. I really haven't followed it very closely recently, but I believe the inflation started about a year ago and now is just out of control. I just checked the going rate on 5/10/16, they are now going for $1=9100 credits. So my approx. ******* credits instead of being worth about $25 are now worth approx. $2.75.
Management does not seem to care and just keeps on issuing more credits in different ways, so I see no end in site for this hyperinflation.
I got stuck with my credits, I bought some to purchase something, won the item. Seller did not ship or respond to me. Although at the time Listia refunded for some of my purchased credits I had to keep some. They will not refund anymore for purchased credits even if sellers don't complete sale.
Stay far away, very far away unless you plan on using your credits very quickly.
I have used Listia a few years off and on. I have had haters, liars, and cheats over and again on this site. One person never sent her item claiming she was too busy to get it out. But, looking at all her feedback she left others, she did that to all the people. I had one lady get a watch from me, never left feedback, quit Listia and I had to wait forever to get the credits. One lady said she received the envelope but nothing was in it, now why would I do that? Then she asked for her credits back. WHATEVER! I am done selling on Listia and will try to close my account when I receive the last of the items.
I enjoy the idea of listia. And I really loved listia when I first joined, all the way up until about 1/2015. Something happened where they changed the credit value, and all the sudden items that were once 20,000 credits were now 85,000 credits. I wish I'd have held on to some of my stuff a bit longer since the credits have quadrupled in value in just a few short months. Then they changed the format of the rewards store where you could go and redeem awesome items immediately for the credits you accumulated. Well now the rewards store is an auction where you cannot get anything immediately, and the amount of credits these rewards store auctions end for is absolutely ridiculous compared to what they were listing as get it now offers just 6 months ago. But I've never had a problem with my account being suspended, I have however had to deal with not so pleasant moderators... :(
HI Stephanie,
Thanks for your review and feedback. Any changes we make on the site are carefully thought out to make the sight better for all. We always welcome feedback. Thanks for being a valuable member.
Sincerely,
Tom
I've been using listia for about 2 months and can't WAIT to close my account. You list an item/people place 'point' bids, then you take your points and bid on something you want. Problem? There is such a fuss over buyer seller ratings, mistakes are rarely tolerated, some members don't look old enough to be in high school yet, and a whole lot of badmouthing and complaining. One of the first items i put up for auction was a set of 'one-of-a-kind glassware worth over $100. I got 1 bid for **1 point**!. My listing said 'local pickup only', the winner(for *1* point) was from the west coast and has been sending me hate-email for not shipping it... get the Idea? Absolutely NOT worth the trouble, unless you have nothing to do BUT play listia games. H A T E D I T!
Me and my hubby had been on listia for over 3 yrs, we cant log in since they have these screwed up letters you cant read! I emailed listia support several times and now 2 days later still cant log in. To top it off I am getting emails about items won from bidders. I cant mail my items as I dont have addresses for the winners!
I keep getting Nuts its disabled in your region! I am done, I keep my customers happy and am a honest seller and cant get on to mail my items.
Hello Theresa,
If you're having problems logging into your account please contact our support team so that we can look into it. They can be contacted here: https://help.listia.com/requests/new
For that matter, anyone who's got an issue that they'd like us to look into should use the above link to contact us about their specific situation. We cannot reply here but once a day per post, so it's really hard to get into the details when they're needed to address a situation. Thanks!
Horrible they scam you constantly this woman named freshpeachez23 buys things from the dollar tree and sells them over priced! For the teeny bit of points u get when you first start out! More than a few people are doing this! DESPICABLE!
Example: http://www.listia.com/profile/*******
Used to be fun in the begining, now it's just a bunch of rude a-holes who want to try and rip you off. WAY to many people using it as a business site, ripping you off by charging to any points, then wanting more $ for shipping. I can go buy half the stuff myself... cheaper than points plus shipping. How but that!?!?!?! Now my wife got banned because some stupid chic running a business thru Listia screwed up and shipped the wrong item, and then called her a liar. Total B. S. site now. We both had 100% positive feedback. Won't ever use it again, total rip off with rude $#*! people now.
Hi Andy,
We're sorry to hear of your experience. We hope your concerns were submitted through a support ticket so that we were made aware of the situation. As for your wife's account, it would not have been banned for the reason you stated. Please have her submit a support ticket if she has not already. We can look into things for her. We hope you will continue to use Listia. We have many great users and items on the site, despite your previous experience.
Credits are not worthy what used be in 2012- 2014 $1=1000 f*ck you listia bring back the old site.
Won: $2,750 gifts cards and electronics.
Lost $324.00
My last day i scammed $450.00 worth gift cards and my account suspended till now.
$2,750+$450 you do the math.
I think people need to realize that you can't trust anything for face value. I'm new to Listia and I reported some middle schooler trying to auction off 2 laptops, and he was using images from Ebay, of all places. I got on the next day and his auctions had been deleted by Listia. So far I have won a $5 Starbucks Giftcard and a coupon for a free tub of Pillsbury Dough (cookie dough, biscuits etc.)
I think people just need to do a bit of research. If it looks like a stock image, you can drop the image into Google image search and it will find any versions of that picture on the internet. I do agree that Listia staff need their customer service skills looked at, but most of this stuff could be handles by people being a bit more cautious with what they bid on. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is!
I spent $75 on credits to win an auction. I won it then went in hospital and with pain meds forgot to verify address so lost all credits and never got item. The seller relisted and sold it again.
Also credits are worth hardly anything now. Used to be credits were worth more.
Hi Alberta. We're sorry to hear about this. If you haven’t already, please submit a support ticket explaining your situation so we can review this for you. Usually if your address isn’t given within the required time frame, the credits will advance to the seller. Thank you for your understanding.
Listia doesn't care about abiding by the law when it comes to keeping the site honest. Instead of responding to and removing listings reported as counterfeit. The law requires sellers to know items are authentic or they can't be listed but Listia disclaims responsibility, stating their lack of knowledge. That's not good enough! Like Ebay, Vestiaire, Fashionphile, Bonanza, and other sites, Listia needs to employ experts who DO have knowledge and remove illegal items.
Hi B. B.,
We're sorry that you feel this way, but there is no pretense. We suspend users after careful investigation and evident proof that a site rule or terms of service was violated. Also, our terms of service clearly states:
When you receive a Credit, Listia hereby grants you a limited license ("Credit License") to use the Credit as a virtual token to be held, bartered, traded and/or transferred on the Site with other users (and/or Listia), in exchange for permission to access and use content, applications, services, and various user-listed items, in accordance with these Terms of Service. The Credit License is transferable by the holder to any other user, provided that both users comply with these Terms of Service and maintain their accounts in good standing. Except as expressly permitted by this Agreement or otherwise expressly permitted by Listia, the Credit License may not be sublicensed, encumbered, conveyed or made subject to any right of survivorship or other disposition by operation of law or otherwise, and you agree that any attempted disposition in violation of these Terms of Service is null and void. Listia may revoke the Credit License at any time without notice, refund or compensation in the event that: (i) the Credit program is suspended or terminated; (ii) Listia determines that the account holder has committed fraud or other illegal conduct; (iii) Listia imposes an expiration date on usage of Credits in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; (iv) the holder's Account is terminated for violation of these Terms of Service; or (v) the holder ceases to maintain an active account or terminates this Agreement.
Therefore, we are not stealing any credits. Any credits earned through a violation of our site terms is deemed void since it was acquired fraudulently. I hope we were able to clarify things for you.
Sincerely,
Tom
Answer: Stacy L Some sellers can even display they really sent mail, they take digital photo when they send mail. They can even show out. But because listia recoginze tracking code. Even if you can even display the mail and correct address correct person, showing u had really sent mail, because no tracking code. Listia would still return all credit back to buyer.
Answer: Because listia is a joke. Complete scam..
Answer: Its just a game even the verified people you cant trust to many children on listia and grown men that act like children
Answer: Listia is an online marketplace where you win other people's stuff using credits instead of money. All users on our site act as both a Buyer and Seller. If you are bidding on items you want from our site, you are considered a Buyer. If you are giving away items on our site, you are considered a Seller :)
Answer: They don't deal in cash, unless you want to buy listia credits. That being said, you can make some bank if you have a good product by what credits you make on it. Then, you could use those credits to bid on gift cards and more pricey stuff that has actual value. I use the site for hard to find seeds, and it has been good for me. As for making money? Not so easy to see a real profit.
Answer: I hate that so much. You might want to contact the owners themselves and report it since they may not even be verified, meaning it's not even safe for the seller.
Listia has a rating of 2.1 stars from 415 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Listia most frequently mention customer service, gift card and many people. Listia ranks 165th among Auction sites.
Hi Chris. We do not have an actual credit-to-cash ratio as it is determined by the ever-changing dynamic marketplace and it will vary. Therefore, you will see fluctuation. Hope this clears things up for you.
