I decided to try the Kroger Boost free trial to since my Shipt was expiring and I was told with Boost that you get same prices as shopping at the store.
My first order was $190. I was contacted about 4 times on substitutions but it wasn't a direct communication from the shopper like with Shipt. But that's ok…then I was told they were going to check out then I got a notice saying they were on the way. I live less that 5!min away but because I'm disabled, I use delivery.
So I waited. About 15 min had passed. I check and it says delivered. So I check to see if they left it at the garage door but nothing. So I go back to Kroger.com to see it said cancelled. But my bill was 211.00. So I check the item list and there were things I had not ordered added to it.
I immediately do an on line chat. The Kroger rep contacted instaCart who told her the shopper had a flat tire. I told her he had added items I didn't order so we agreed he stole the order.
But I was charged $211.00 and told it would be 5 to 7 days to be refunded…
I'm disabled, on a fixed income so what was I supposed to do for food now. Luckily I borrowed some money and bought groceries. But after 7 days I was wasn't credited back yet. It took three more phone calls to Kroger and filing a claim with my bank before I ever got my refund. 12 days later it was refunded back to my bank account.
Needless to say I cancelled the trial of Boost the day I used it (I have a screen shot saying the rep did cancel it just in case I'm charged)
But as I explained to the financial dept at Krogers, I signed up for grocery delivery with them, not instaCart therefore I feel they should've immediately returned my money and then they wait for reimbursement from InstaCart. I feel they don't care about their customers and if I had not been able to borrow some money, I would've had no food for 12 days.
I know this is happening a lot because after I told some people what happened, I had one person say there are many times they have items missing they get charged For and just tonight a friend called to say their groceries were just stolen by instaCart too.
Why is Krogers still using InstaCart is what I want to know?
I refuse to patron a grocery store whose throwing up a huge "middle finger" to Americans by increasing their foods prices so ridiculously higher than Food Lion...Ill patron Food Lion...I bought a loaf of bread which I've been buying for years for $2.99 loaf and it was $4.29! Food Lion has same brand for $3.29! Further another item I regularly purchase for $5.99 has increased by whole dollar now $6.99! I spent $60 on less than 10 items and had shopped Food Lion earlier in the week and purchased double the amount of groceries which rang up $120 and when cashier applied my FL card it brought my balance down to $87...there are a lot more people worse off than me, but if Food Lion can help Americans by selling at lower prices then what hell wrong with Kroger? Lastly, I got to register at Kroger paid and walked from the register reviewed my receipt and not one item I had purchased as a BOGO was discounted...if I hadn't been careful then I would have purchased extra items thinking I was getting it at BOGO and was charged...I shouldn't have to watch these cashier's as the items should automatically be discounted but obviously they are not! Coffee prices were insane and again Food Lions got much better pricing on their coffee by almost $2.00 a box...Kroger is ridiculous! I just happened to be in the area as my local Food Lion store is close to my home but had the prices been consistent I wouldn't really mind the extra few minutes to shop at Kroger but not at their prices...it's a known fact a lot of Americans especially seniors are struggling and you would think Kroger being a larger chain would be conscious & try keep their prices more affordable...there was not one item on the shelf at Kroger that can beat Food Lion prices and that's the truth...I have two teen boys that eat me out of house and home as they are not concerned about how much they consume hell their growing boys but honestly I cannot afford Kroger so Ill continue to patron Food Lion who appears by their pricing at least trying to keep their prices down for average Americans!
I sent the following complaint to Kroger from my online account, without receiving any reply or remedy:
Dysfunctional Kroger VIP card, digital coupon, and Kroger Customer Connect system
I have had problems in using my VIP card No. ************** for digital coupons, which I clip and add to my list on the computer, at Fry's store in Sierra Vista, Arizona for more than two months. During that period, I have wasted a lot of my time in trying to solve that problem, by going to the customer service in that store and filing several online complaints through my account. However, this simple problem has not been solved. On October 27,2022, Abigail from Kroger responded to my complaint, apologizing for the problems and informing me that she added $15 to my account (Reference #*******). However, it was not found in my account. She did not reply to my emails about that. She had asked me to call *******377, which I did. The responder told me that she had fixed the problem of digital coupons. However, I found out that it was not fixed and clipped digital coupons did not show up at check out. I told Abigail and her that there was a wrong VIP card No. ************** in my online account, which I could not edit to replace it with the correct number. She said that she could not do it either. I again filed a complaint, Reference #*******, to which Malique from Kroger answered asking me to edit the wrong VIP card number in my online account, in spite of my having stated in my new complaint that it could not be done with repeated attempts, to which I get the message that my last name and correct VIP account number do not match. All this shows that the whole Kroger system is dysfunctional. I may switch to Safeway for that reason.

We're glad not living close by that location
Never coming back
Kroger is unorganized I feel like never shop online and do deliver because there was this accident that occur where the person who was shopping for me doing delivery overcharged my card and clear up the whole issue with my bank and called Kroger they gave me fund and payed for my groceries last time I came their but I had go through this trouble somebody screwed up at their end and overcharged my card and bought groceries I didn't buy and instacart and people who do are deliveries for this shouldn't be a loosely business where you hire random people to shop for you because might be able to get away with overcharging your card they can run scott free not being hold accountable for it which mess up they need to be held accountable for it or somebody does this delivery business should exist or it should be so loose and more organized and know where the people are when food like tracker on them or turn it into physical business where you have go to a public building and wear uniform maybe switch your cars and have a tracker just something to keep track of the deliver food and the workers their are rude and should be nicer and polite I mean if you can't afford something you couldn't afford or you just don't want to buy it you change your mind at the last because maybe you weren't sure what you were buying or how much it would cost and thought you could afford it that's not our fault we didn't do it on purpose plus it's one of their jobs to return stuff if someone rejects order no matter how many times they do it what did Kroger expect it was going to be like working their
Kroger has messed my order up twice today... Canceled my order and want give me my money back! I am done with Kroger's
North gate and beltline bad customer service waiting long line only one person on customers service very bad
I never approved of my groceries being left on my porch groceries arrived early when I wasn't hungry me bull$#*!
I normally shop at my local Kroger which is less than 2 mi from my home. I decided to do the grocery delivery because I'm having some issues with my car. Got up early that morning and placed the order. Set up for it to be delivered within 2 hours. The delivery person which is through instacart, knocked on my door and the groceries were there. Didn't really have a chance to look through the bags as I was bringing everything inside. Realize immediately that he had given me someone else's order. I received none of the items that I ordered and the items that I did receive are things that I'm unable to eat. I cannot eat dairy or beef. The items included for huge roles of ground beef and several containers of milk. I immediately called their customer service number and was offered a refund. They also gave me a $30 credit on my Kroger account. I feel that this was not good enough because I would have to wait 3 to 5 business days for my money to be refunded back to my card. In the meantime what are me and my family supposed to eat for the remaining of the week. Most of the items I ordered were things that my kids like to eat. So I called them back and ask them to rectify the situation better. It's ridiculous to have to wait 3 to 5 business days to get your money back when they had just debited the money out of my account less than an hour before that. They issued me an additional credit. I get online this morning to place another order and find out that the credit can only be used for in-store purchases. I cannot even place another order online and use that credit. So I completely got screwed by them. Technically instacart is mainly the blame but they should really consider not using instacart for their deliveries. I have seen a lot of complaints regarding the instacart drivers, things like stealing and orders getting messed up. I get that mistakes happen but this was a big mistake. So even though they screwed up I now have to find a ride to the store today to buy food for my family. Thanks Kroger! You guys suck and after I'm done shopping today I am through with your company. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. You have lost my business and I'm sure that it doesn't bother you but others will follow along when they realize how bad this company has gotten.
Overall rating is higher than I wanted to give
Please stop sending me coupons no longer using Kroger.
Kroger in Sandy Springs is like most, only much worse. Like all Krogers, the bathrooms for decades have STUNK and never look and felt/smelled/looked clean. Just NASTY. While Sandy Springs has become an extremely affluent neighborhood this Kroger has dived into the pits of "F-U, we don't care about you" CUSTOMER DIS-SERVICE. With all but one or two open registers open at a time and long lines of mostly...these days...SKANKY-looking shoppers 1/2 of which smell like a bag of STINKWEED. It's like Kroger's DISGUSTING ATTITUDE has run off anyone with a little self-respect left. Now ONLY PEOPLE WILLING TO BE ABUSED SHOP THERE. I tried to exchange a $2.49 item yesterday April 4,2023 with a KROGER PRICE TAG on it bought 2 days prior and was told I couldn't exchange it without a receipt. It had their Kroger Brand sticker on it! I left all my groceries in the cart for these dumb jack----to put up and walked out with the intention of never returning. That was the last time they will insult me when PUBLIX, TRADER JOES, COSTCO, SPROUTS etc are all clean and never act like jack-.s. For the last 5 years or more Kroger has been getting worst by the month. DISGUSTING company! Plus all their hundreds of SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS and constant drone announcements to obey the government and get another non-working booster so Kroger can cash in there too (they don't care about your health they care about $$$$) is SO DISGUSTINGLY ORWELLIAN.
One thing I hate is. I hate it when people lie to me. The Morehead Krogers the guy Mike b in meat department I put an order of trout 5 lb and he told me the regular price is $9.99 I said well since I am buying 5 lb of it. Can you give it to me at a discount he said yes he said he'll give it to me for $8.99 and I wrote it down while we were talking I said okay I want it for the first which is the first of October I showed up today to pick it up and the guy told me behind the counter that it was $9.99 a pound I said no according to Mike b I could get it for $8.99 a pound. Well he went to find mike he didn't remember. I said you don't remember my conversation about if I wanted more than four or five pounds I couldn't get it lower than $8.99. Unless I spoke to a manager but this box you were giving me for $8.99. Oh my God he completely lied about it and then that Jessica who's a supervisor there lousy supervisor. Turned around and told me it was a misunderstanding I said it was no misunderstanding Jessica he completely lied to you about what he said to me on the phone. So from now on I'm going to tape any conversations. I was so upset that I left without shopping I just took the trout and left. But I should have had to pay $949 a pound or $9.99 a pound I should have been getting it for what they promised me at 8.99 a pound. They are taking advantage of elderly people when they lie like that. Matter of fact they take advantage of anybody when they lie about what they say or what they're going to give you something for...both Mike b and the guy that was waiting on me was very rude. Which is not unusual for the meat department because there are some people there that are just like that. When they say you can have it for a certain price that's the price they should give it to you for. They shouldn't turn around a week later and change the price or say they didn't remember and lie about it... and for Jessica the supervisor or whoever she is I've never had to deal with her too much before but for her to take the side of a lion employee is wrong they shouldn't be lying about it. And treat the customer like $#*! afterwards. I was so upset I couldn't even do my shopping
I took my seven year old child into Kroger to cash in his coins at CoinStar tonight, only to have a large amount stolen! We counted out almost $73 dollars in change before going, only to be given a voucher for $37.93! I went and spoke to the manager "Lee Ann" about this, only for her to act nonchalant, and uncaring about it. She said there wasn't anything she could do, for me to call CoinStar. NOT TRUE! I did call them, to find out she should have got inside and got all the loose coins NOT IN THE BLACK BOXES, and re feed it thru the feeder! I was told to go back up there to get my money back. I went back, and the Manager(G. M.) "Lee Ann" came walking up with a man named "William". I told her what I was told and she started to call someone. My son standing by this "William" came running up to me and said "Daddy... he said I don't know and I don't care!" I turned to him and said "What? What do you mean... and then I turned to "William" and said what did you say... for him to say, "I told him I Don't Know and Don't care"! He did this in front of the G. M. and when I said are you going to let your employee talk to my child like that? She said. He didnt say that! I said "yes he did, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!" She turned to William and he said. "YEAH I SAID THAT!" She didn't fire him, as she should have on the spot for being blantantly rude to a child inside a Kroger store as an EMPLOYEE and REPRESENTATIVE for Kroger! #BOYCOTTKROGER
It's a shame that when I go to the white Krogers they're nice clean I can find everything I want when stuff shopping when I go to Kroger's in the black neighborhoods it's run down they don't have enough product it's not well stocked they fall very short like the one on Mall Boulevard and Savannah I went there to get a dinner it was pretty bad I called the store couldn't even reach a manager the store on Victory customer service is at all time low they can never get somebody to rent it how come the managers can't rent it when there's no clerks there it's ridiculous when you ready to go there they're close will you not ready and don't have your information you need to contact your business they're open these young kids are too busy playing face book or playing games or doing whatever then concentrating you have to watch everything because it's just a sad situation I don't have anybody that want to work and when they work their mind is not focused they have overdrawn my account a couple of times because the girl wasn't listening I wanted a money order and then she ends up giving me cash too which overdrew my account it's just a breakdown but I know you have demographics but you need to do better
On Wednesday, September 14,2022 I placed an order on Kroger for a total of five items. The combined total of these items was $76.60 not including a $3.83 tip that would be contingent on getting at least a minimal level of service (the items actually arriving at my house).
While I waited around an hour for any sign of life from the order, I received a notification that the shopper had begun. Shortly after, I received two separate notifications letting me know an item will be refunded due to it not being in stock. I DID specify that they could pick an alternative for the item as it's real easy to find a replacement cheese for a mild cheddar, but the shopper decided they didn't want to do that. In a little bit, I received the notification that the shopper was done and that it would be delivered.
Generally, the process involves me receiving a notification that the delivery driver has left the store, and another letting me know they are approaching. Once I received the notification the delivery driver has left the store, I headed to the living room to greet them. They never arrived. After around 20 minutes, I received a notification that my order had been delivered. It had, in fact, not been delivered.
Upon checking my order, I noticed there were two glaring issues here:
1) The order it was showing was clearly NOT my keto-friendly order, but in fact a lot of items that were not only non-keto, but seemed to be for children.
2) My $76.60 order turned into $197.14. I clearly never agreed to this.
I contacted Kroger immediately. Across four phone calls and two attempts to resolve this with a chat agent, I finally got someone who could at least admit that something was wrong with the order. They never did admit fault and at some point even tried to assume I was lying about all of this. Regardless, they let me know they would send a request to finance to refund me my order.
Shortly after this, I received an email notification. This email outlined that I could receive the refund for the order in 7-10 business days. Having been in the other end of this situation, I know their finance department could've just voided out the charge and it wouldn't have actually hit my account. It held as an approximately $80 hold on the account for a few days, and hit the account as the full $197.14 I did not consent to sending.
I've tried to reach out to get this resolved faster, but have had no response from Kroger or any of their customer service representatives. I've also been blatantly hung up on once they see my phone number. It's clear they don't want to make good on their promises, even when someone is paying them extra for an annual subscription.
I have bought food here that was found to be less fresh! If I had A car I'd go anywhere but here. Stale bread eggs that made us sick and spoiled milk that I had just purchased. Rotten sweet potatos. A dead bee in strawberries. Moldy jello once. Eggroles that gave me food poison. I saw white mold on beef jerky that I decide not to purchase and gave it to one of the workers there because it looked gross.not to mention years ago found a piece of glass in my food I purchased from the area where they sell lunch meat cooked chicken and ready made Food. I bit into it and felt something hard and it was a chunk of glass from there containers. It's kind of laughable that there commercial say fresher than fresh when many times that's just not the case and in fact sometimes food I buy at Kroger either ends up returned or in my trash. I return the spoiled milk once but most of time I don't feel like the hassle and I just toss it in the trash. I actually got sick from there food not knowing it was bad like there eggs once made me very sick and there frozen Eggroles years later made me very sick. I get all my flue shots and vaccines and I'm pretty sure Kroger eggs made us sick because only people that got sick were the ones whom ate the boiled eggs. I remember that Easter I was laying on the bathroom floor poo and pukeing my guts out! I never been so sick in my life after eat Kroger eggs. My guest that ate the boiled eggs called and said they also became sick and the ones that didn't eat boiled eggs were fine. Thats why I'm pretty sure it was there eggs. Also I'm the type that don't keep anything past expiration date. It's A gamble. Sometimes there food is ok and sometimes it's not. I had A friend tell me she and her grandson got sick after eat kroge potatoes. In 2021 I felt like I was going to die after eating there Eggroles but fortunately I was fine the next day.
I would like people to know they should never shop or work at any Kroger's in Beaumont, Texas, particularly the one on phelan Blvd. They hire new employees and then harass them before their ninety days by being messy so that they can fire you before you become permanent. Also the union is a piece of crap. They take your money from your paycheck, but want help or do anything before you're a new hire, you haven't pass the ninety days, but yet they take your money for all the first 90 day paychecks. The hiring manager hires for both stores, Mrs. Burgeon, but she keeps nothing confidential. She discusses pay which is illegal.
Then, the head csm Dianelle pick with you daily or she acts like a coward by getting her pretend or fake csm to do it, which they're really not managers at all, just cashier's so she go home while they close the store at night. Management will stand by while they do nothing they just want you to check fast or pretend like you're not checking fast just to get rid of you while all doing they're watching is a time clock to how fast people check one. In the meanwhile they're just picking on certain people so they could get rid of them. By the way, if you have a disability they leave you alone. They're too scared to go near them because they get a check for that. They get more money to hire people with disabilities. So just to let you know HR the Union and anyone else won't do anything. They'll just let them keep being vindictive, messy, disrespectful to customers and employees while they keep their same clique because they want to keep the same people there and they really don't want her new employees especially if you make more money than them they're just jealous. Why waste your time if they same people are there trying to shop here or work here they're only in it for the money in their pockets. They need to fire these people Mrs. Burgeon and csm Dianelle, because they have been so disrespectful to many people who have came there and you wonder why they have a high turnover rate. By the way they have a hole in the floor of building in the hiring room and I hope someone falls in one day. Just to let you know they have a raggedy building and they're just trying to cover it up. They also are constantly busy watching their employees on camera that they're shrinkage rate is high. They're constantly being stole from in the store by customers because they're watching the wrong people.
Answer: Kroger began cheating people out of money at their self checkouts.
Answer: I tried for 2 hours to get in touch with a human. Chat agent, Yelhen let me sit there and then went AWOL. Called every 800 number I could find...impossible to get past the bots. I called the local store in Livonia,,MI - phone rings, then you get music, phone rings then get music, I was in that loop for 15 minutes. The only way to get ahold of a human is to go to a store, they can't blow you off then. Do not ever start me their over priced products.
Kroger has a rating of 1.3 stars from 348 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Kroger most frequently mention customer service, self checkout and many times. Kroger ranks 87th among Recipe sites.
