What happend to once great company. I will drive out of my way to find another store. Need compleye management change
I have been shopping with Kroger as a plus customer for years... I recently found out my ex is associated with my account and had been using my fuel points... The rep I spoke with stated she would remove my ex from my account, and refund the fuel points. I asked if I should close this account and open a new one, but the rep assured me there was no need to do that, she would fix it... A month later I have an account issue because the customer relations credit on my account doesn't work in store for beer/wine like the rep that applied the credit stated it would. The rep stated there are 2 numbers on my account, and 2 other household members... I realized it my husband's number, but not sure who the other household member is... I explained I don't know what they're doing, but no one should be on my account except me. To make things more upsetting, Kroger sent coupons addressed to my ex at my NEW address (I was so pissed off)... I guess if you have more than one person in a household with a Kroger account they automatically link them... I mentioned this to the rep and she stated that doesn't happen... I told her something to that effect had to happen cause there's no dang way my ex should be attached to my account, and he dang sure shouldn't be associated with my new address... The rep stated she would fix it and explained the customer relations credit should work for anything except fuel (just as the previous reps stated)... The rep also stated she opened a ticket regarding the issue and stated someone from Kroger would contact me... I have contacted Kroger twice since then regarding this, and a month later I still haven't heard from anyone at Kroger regarding this issue... I have shopped in store and an associate stated there was a customer with the same issue (customer relations credit not working on everything in the store as it should be)... Kroger should just say the customer relations credit doesn't work on everything and fix their system...
Kroger customer is a joke. Called 4 times, talked to a cs representative abd was disconnected after i told them what the problem was. RIDICULOUS
I had 1053 points giving me a $1 off on gas and I've been a loyal customer to Dillons/Kroger. All of a sudden the next month 300 points disappeared. I wrote customer service and they said they applied points mistakenly so they removed them but did not let the customers know. I had no problem if they had posted online that they had a glitch and had to correct it and apologize but instead we were just left to wonder. I've had problems in the past of points also not posting and when you write customer service it takes most times 2 weeks or more to get a response. This time they wrote: "But if the system is already effective, it will ultimately return." Who knows what that means.
I wrote the President/CEO, Rodney McMullen, and I got a message saying that it was an error. They also gave me the website to read about fuel points although I had stated in my letter that I had been shopping at Kroger for 20 years and was loyal to them but complained that points weren't posted and customer service was terrible but that wasn't addressed. I just wanted them to let all the customers know they had an error and that is why points were taken away... instead I was schooled like I didn't understand how fuel points work. I no longer will shop just at Dillons/Kroger because of how they handle the customer acting like we are the ones who don't understand. I can't support a company that views the customer as an irritation rather than addressing the problem.
Last, you must watch when shopping. Kroger does things like this all the time. They have chips as an example for 2/$6.00. Then they run a sale and have a big sale sign, Chips on Sale $2.99. One penny savings. They treat customers like we are idiots and can't calculate and will just buy the product because it has "sale" on it.
I will enjoy exploring other alternative places to purchase my groceries now because they don't value long time customers.
I recently purchased a dungeness crab from my local Kroger on Nasa Rd. 1 and Bay Area Blvd. Upon getting in my vehicle and arriving home my car had a very disturbing odor, I immediately thought about my purchase from Kroger and I open the bag and it hit me like a jug of spoiled milk! That was my dinner, but I had to eat something else. The next day I return the crab to the location which is closer to my home which is El Camino Real and Bay area Blvd. The manager by the name of Thomas told me that I needed a receipt and did not have it, I explained Kroger's policy if no receipt and it's 10.00 dollars or less it can be returned for cash, but over 10 dollars it's a store credit. I even pulled it up on my phone to show him and he still refused and placed my item on a bench and walked away saying show me a receipt. Being frustrated I drove to the original store and Annette in customer service was very professional and with zero hesitation she gave me a gift card of 25.00 dollars. I shared with her what had occurred and she new the policy that I spoke of and also stated that it doesn't make a difference which store you return an item to. I went back and spoke with Thomas about not knowing his own store policy and after showing it to him again he still didn't get it. His reasoning was that he has crackheads in the neighborhood returning items all the time and I asked so are you profiling me and of course the answer was no, but why make that statement Thomas I said. Long story short I showed him my credentials to put him at ease to let him know that I could afford a 25.00 dollar crab. He then offered me a gift card and I kindly declined because that wasn't my focus to get something for free, but to make me whole with what I spent and nothing more. This is why I stopped shopping at Walmart vs Target and I'm now going to shop at HEB vs Kroger. It's a total different atmosphere.
Their coupon savings app sucks, the app design is twisted couple times and it does NOT work. Don't download the app. Go to Walmart.
This exfoliating sponge is good but after one use, it breaks apart. It's useful for one use and if you need and exfoliator urgently.
Shore Drive store is not variety stocked, employees lack in good work ethics, and electric carts were not operational upon entry. Were not charged!
This review is kind of a mixed bag, but, ultimately has a happy ending. I have a friend who sent me a Kroger e-gift card so that I could use it for fuel, but, it turns out, Kroger doesn't allow you to use e-gift cards for fuel, even though it says in the terms and conditions of the e-gift card that you can use it for fuel.
So, I spent an hour at this location in Avon, Indiana, trying to get it resolved but was unable to get it resolved because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser. Frankly, I don't understand why an e-gift card can't perform the same functions as an actual physical gift card. It would be great if Kroger could rectify this.
My hope is that in the future, Kroger will allow e-gift cards to be used to purchase fuel. With that said, the acting store manager I believe, Joseph, was really great about everything. He was literally on the phone for probably 30 minutes trying to get it resolved and he had to call a few different numbers to get to the correct department.
Unfortunately, as I said above, because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser, they could not move forward with the process. Joseph, however, went out of his way to help me and bought me $30 dollars worth of gas with HIS money.
Pretty amazing customer service and Joseph was cool as a cucumber the entire time because he knew I was stressed about the situation. I'm not mad at Kroger or anything, because I love shopping there. But, they really need to update the legalese in the terms and conditions with regard to their e-gift cards so that it doesn't say you can purchase fuel with an e-gift card.
Joseph is an amazing manager and human being for helping me because I truly did need to get gas and he made that happen. There are still great people out there who want to help and I am grateful that they exist, because we need as much human kindness as we can muster in this world. Because it is only us, as a collective, who can change this world.
Thank you for helping, Joseph, you are a good egg :) I will continue to be a loyal Kroger customer because outside of this minor snafu, Kroger is still the best grocery store around.
I placed an order for delivery for Saturday, July 29 between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
For over a year Kroger kept posting on their website that the driver will contact you when they arrive. But Kroger customer service representatives, supervisors and corporate office personnel kept telling me that it's not their policy. But they ignored my question why they had it on their website.
I have to keep going back and forth in my apartment building looking for the delivery truck.
This morning about 15 minutes to 6:00 I thought I heard a truck pulling into the complex. I opened the front door of the building and thought I heard an engine running. But it was dark outside and I didn't know if I heard the air conditioners of the other residents. Turned out the driver turned off every light on the truck. Normally I could see the flashers and the lights on the corners of the box.
Since it had just rained and I was in my stocking feet I ran up the two flights of stairs and slipped on my shoes.
At the same time my doorbell rang. I immediately went down the stairs. As soon as I reached the second flight I saw my groceries laying on the filthy sidewalk. I asked the driver why he dumped my groceries on the ground.
He rudely responded that he had the RIGHT to leave the groceries on the ground if I didn't answer the door.
He either put the bags on the ground right before or immediately after ringing the doorbell. He was too lazy and incompetent to wait 10-15 seconds for me to get to the door.
Also he was 10 minutes before the scheduled delivery window.
He had no intention to be professional and hand me the bags.
He needs to be terminated.
At about 6 pm on Thursday, June 10,2021 I visited the Kroger store located at ******* Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA *******. Although my previous visits have been pleasant today's experience was less than desirable and personally offensive. While shopping I decided to pick up a couple of steaks and began my search with the pre-packaged meats available in the refrigerator case across from the meat department counter. Seeing nothing I wanted I waited as the person at the meat counter served another customer. During this time, he was very attentive and appeared pleasant as he interacted with the customer.
Unfortunately, as I approached the counter the demeanor of person at the meat counter changed dramatically. Instead of asking if I needed assistance, he simply glanced in my direction, walked to the farthest end of the counter and began rearranging merchandise. At one point he disappeared in the back and returned empty handed but continued rearranging items at the far end of the counter. Not once did he acknowledge my presence at the counter or offer assistance. It was not until I eventually asked for assistance that he acknowledge my presence with a sneer and asked very flatly if I needed something. I decided not to purchase steaks because your employee gave the impression he'd rather be doing something other than assisting me with my order.
I have no ideal why the Kroger employee responded to me the way he did. It would be easy to make his change in disposition about race because the only difference between me and the previous customer is that he was white and I am black. Despite my suspicions, I want to provide feedback about my experience, because regardless of the reason, all customers should be treated the same regardless of an employee's personal biases, workload or even if they are just having a bad day. As a retired veteran and now veteran's education counselor I have never been inclined to pick and choose with whom I will be professional. Nor should Kroger employees. Oftentimes I am asked by friends, family and colleagues the location of a good place to buy groceries and other items. In the future it will not be the Midlothian Kroger store. Today it only cost Kroger a couple of steaks. Tomorrow who knows.
Kroger delivery is trash, the store is trash. Get some robots and stop being cheap, sorry and poor. Got to publix, walmart, etc.
I placed an order for a 150.00 gift card on December 14,2023. It was
A Christmas gift for my elderly in-laws, which is why I ordered a
Plastic card to be delivered to their home rather than a digital gift
Card. It was understood that the gift could take 5-10 days to be
Delivered and under the strains of holiday deliveries, I was hopeful
But understood if the card didn't make it before Christmas.
Three weeks after placing the order, the card still was not delivered
To Ohio and I called for an update. The automated system told me the
Card had been shipped that exact date (12/29/23) and could take 5-10
Business days. I was extremely upset but, again, with the holidays,
I was understanding. Another two weeks went by and on January 5,
2024, I called again. The automated system told me again that the
Card was shipped on that exact date (1/5/24) and could take 5-10 days,
Which was ridiculous and obviously NOT good information. This was now
Four weeks after ordering the card and I was now furious at the way
Your company does business. I called and was able to speak to
Customer service who basically told me they could not track the
Delivery and kept repeating it could take up to 5-10 business days to
Arrive.
Nobody, not even the supervisor I finally got to speak to could
Explain your process, the reason for the delay, or give me a
Definitive answer to when the card would be delivered, where it was
Coming from, why it was taking so long, etc. I cancelled the order and
Asked for a full refund (Case #CS *******), but that is not what I
Wanted. I wanted to give my in-laws a gift they could use and would
Appreciate and they got nothing. I have no idea if I will even get a
Response to this message (I'm not expecting to), but you should know
How poorly your system works. I could not be more disappointed and
Will share this experience with everyone I know to save them the
Aggravation I faced.
Groceries were to arrive between 5 & 8 pm. Got here at midnight with only a third of the items I ordered. Yet original charge is still pending 🙄
I love shopping at Kroger but occasionally I need to have groceries delivered.
Consistently the people who are contracted to shop for & deliver my groceries are the rudest, most disrespectful, unintelligent & inept people that I do business with.
Today the delivery driver pulled up to my house with her radio playing so loud it rattled my whole house. She was talking loudly & cursing into her phone the entire time. Then she knocks on my door to tell me she didn't scan the big bag of dog food she delivered. I could barely understand what she was saying only 4 feet away from her because of how loud the music was.
I looked at my receipt later & found it had been paid for. But several things on the receipt were not delivered. Every single time I resort to using this delivery service I have a similarly poor experience. There's only cream corn, no whole kernel, they dont have any folgers coffee, they don't have any hamburger. If you don't help my unload this, I'm canceling your order. Ridiculous things. Every single time. There should be some immediate review of the experience & low scoring shoppers shouldn't be allowed to continue to do business at Kroger. It's angering & I'm a fairly easy going person. I purchase from Kroger every weekend for over 20 years, never even considering shopping somewhere else, but these continuous delivery attitude/aptitude issues are making me rethink my loyalt decision. I think most people who hire shoppers are probably not able to shop for themselves for health reasons. I'd hate thinking about how they would treat a frail elderly person who has no other choice but to use this service & feels helpless when they have to deal with this type of poor customer service. Your delivery service a broken system Kroger & in no way reflects the service I received when i shop at your stores in person. Please fix this!
After my last review Kroger Home delivery still haven't given me my refund or even contacted me about my refund
Products say in stock but multiple substitutions. Why doesn't the buyer utilize usage for inventory control?
The store is terrible! It stinks and needs a major remodel. Poorly stocked... Minimal selections. To
Disgruntled employees, few people to help, expired items, more bare shelves and higher prices every week.
I first love Krogers because they had my Topo Chico mineral water. But now 3 weeks later without it.
Answer: Kroger began cheating people out of money at their self checkouts.
Answer: I tried for 2 hours to get in touch with a human. Chat agent, Yelhen let me sit there and then went AWOL. Called every 800 number I could find...impossible to get past the bots. I called the local store in Livonia,,MI - phone rings, then you get music, phone rings then get music, I was in that loop for 15 minutes. The only way to get ahold of a human is to go to a store, they can't blow you off then. Do not ever start me their over priced products.
Kroger has a rating of 1.3 stars from 348 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Kroger most frequently mention customer service, self checkout and many times. Kroger ranks 87th among Recipe sites.
