I have had Kaiser since I was a child 1980's. It was really good back then. However, it has become a Monopoly and an inner city clinic. The quality of care has really gone downhill. It's a shame that Kaiser is the only HMO out there that is a all in one. That's what is desirable for a lot of older folks because they don't have to go all over to get bloodwork, x-rays etc. for what I pay in premiums-I should be able to go to a better facility with better qualified doctors and nurses. It's almost like I'm in A bad socialism healthcare system that I already pay for. So basically I'm paying for crap healthcare. Wish that Kaiser had other competitors that was in all in one facility.
I purchased Kaiser because It was the only option that my employer offered to me. Before that i had Blue cross Blue shied and it was great and apple health that was fair. I can say that Kaiser is the worse insurance that i have had. Limited locations. There is no clinic in my city and i have to go to another locations to see my family doctor. Limited Doctors and It is very difficult to make an appointment. Crowded urgent care and emergency rooms. They usually have not available room! In the emergency room, a doctor mistakenly visited my daughter while she was not a pediatrician at all! Do NOT BUY!
I have Kaiser their chiropractor broke my arm, he is in hiding Kaiser committed Medicare fraud, I have had 4 surgery's on my arm lost the use of my arm and Kaiser has had 15 months to step up and be responsible and to this day they still have not stepped up! Stay away from this corrupt insurance company it about the money not health care the CEO of Kaiser is paid 227 million a year. I a m going to attach the bind with the state of Colorado and Kaiser attorneys lie going after their attorneys also
If I could sue Kaiser I would. 2018 I went in to emergency for a gash in the leg. I told them my chest area didn't feel well. They took x-rays and ekg and sent me home. Didn't clean or look at my gash. Didn't look at my x-rays just charged me for them. I was back in the emergency room 8 days later with a full blown heart attack. My heart took 52 minutes to get started. They broke my ribs to save my life. I live in constant fear now. Had they took care of me 8 days before it wouldn't have happened. I was held against my will for at least 24 hours in all that. Telling me if I leave I have to pay the full bill, my insurance wouldn't cover. Shake my head at them. The worst. What caused my heart attack was also the lack of communication with my primary Dr about meds and blood work. They are bad and should be looked at closely. Shame on KAISER!
This is my first time visit by Dr. Sepideh Mirfakhraei, as a registered nurse in California I've never seen anyone Practitioner/ primary doctor like her, so respectful and welcoming manner, knowledgeable, good listener and so many more, specially during Covid! This doctor deserves many times 5 star reviews, unfortunately I can only place on time review. I believe people are working in this office are so blessed to have this doctor besides them, I wish I was her assistant.
I enrolled in Kaiser Medicare Advantage in Feb 2020. I was told to come for a baseline physical with $0 copay. After the physical, I was billed for $10 copay. After my first visit to the Optometrist which EOC says has a $10 copay, which I paid, I was billed for an additional $30. Again I had a preventative colonoscopy which EOC says has $0 copay but I was billed for $40 after the procedure. When I called to dispute the charge, the member service rep threatened to hang up on me and refused to transfer me to supervisor. She offered to waive to copay as a one-time courtesy and not because they were wrong. Right now I am even scared to go for services because of the hassle of dealing with the overbilling. Check your bills from KP so you are not ripped off. I am done with them! GA, Member, Mid Atlantic States Medicare Advantage
I called Kaizer and asked them how can I send a message to my Doctor through www.kp.org. I was talking with them for 45 min. And at the end the lady could not figure out how I could do that and at the end she hung up the phone.
Tundre and Paula in the lab went above and beyond the call of duty. My lab oder expired when I went in last night. They called the doctor, it was 730pm, to get the order back in the system. Took a half an hour but the results were I could take my test. Love them both. It was my mistake but they fixed it. And happily.
I was on Kaiser for YEARS but mainly because it was the only viable option I had as a young teacher. I put up with REALLY bad doctors and horrible conditions because it was my cheapest option when I was young. I was young and healthy and I didn't really access health care in those days so I put up with the BS from Kaiser which was long waiting periods to access appointments and long times to hear back with lab results, etc... But more recently, they have made access to healthcare so hard. Driving 15 miles or more just to get vaccines or NO vaccines because they ran out. Driving miles to get care from specialists. They even reassigned my 91 year old mom to a dental clinic over 30 minutes away from her home. I am SO over Kaiser. Once I qualified for Medicare, I left them immediately. The plan I now have FOR FREE would have cost 170 dollars for WAY less care and benefits. Come on Kaiser, you can do better.
Long story short: patient was prescribed prism for strabismus. Pt was told nothing can be done, pt was depressed, pt quality of life was poor! Pt got new health coverage, pt got surgery: stabismus fixed outlook on life. Please make sure you don't give up!
Kaiser makes many things easy, but it has become either greedy, or unable to hire enough health practitioners to provide timely appointments. Two months is too long to wait. I also had a very weird issue where I booked an appt, but Kaiser called to cancel 2 days prior, due to COVID. Their medical software, or a tech, took my suggested reason for that appointment, and inserted a record with that diagnosis, as if I'd been seen. They even extended the issue to both eyes. I've never seen this Dr in my life. They repeatedly billed me, I told them it never occurred, the doctor said she'd fix it, but billing refused to remove the fake record and sent the bill to collection. After 6 months of my emails, they modified some records to extend the falsehood, making the cancelation phone call a 'telemedicine' call, which it was not. So they stick to a lie rather than admit a mistake, which seems like an unhealthy business culture to me.
My attempts to contact my doctor have failed miserably. Using the online message system is frustrating and terribly flawed. It borders on malpractice.
THESE IDIOTS CANT READ THEIR OWN DOCTORS NOTES!
Called me to give me the results of my 10 year old daughter's skin test! TAKE A LOOK AT THE STUPID MESSAGE!
SHUT DOWN THIS HELL CALLED MEDICAL FACILITY!
I purchased the Kaiser Gold Health Plan, which is the most expensive, hoping to get good access to care and customer service. The Doctors and Nurses are great, but Kaiser Health Plan has absolutely abysmal customer service. Contacting member services is intentionally convoluted by a complex phone tree with an automated voice system that often hangs up after leaving customers on hold for hours. It is a miserable customer experience that wastes countless hours for patients. Moreover, Kaiser consistently exploits designed loopholes in coverage to prevent from paying bills they rightfully owe. Finally, they demand customers provide their social security number just to speak to a customer service representative. This is a serious, reckless, and gross security breach and a violation of customer privacy. They could validate customer information in many ways - which would be compliant with all regulations, for example birth date. Instead, they exploit customers and their data to their advantage without regard for their customers security or general interests. It is a shame the government continues to pour billions in profit into this company for virtually no value in return, there needs to be competition in the healthcare marketplace so insurance companies can't treat their customers without respect.
IVE BEEN GOING TO KAISER FOR SEVERAL YEARS ABD CAN HONESYLY SAY THAT I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD A PROBLEM. MY PRIMARY IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND TREATS ME LIKE FAMILY. HER SO MUCH
( DR. KHANYA CUALOPING)
AND TODAY I SAW JODIE DUNCAN NURSE PRACTIONER WHO WAS FREAKING AMAZING! IVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH KAISER. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! THEY GET 5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD! THANKS KP FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE FOR MY HEALTH NEEDS AND BEING FRIENDLY AND AMAZING!
I am a Member in San Diego. Kaiser is fine, unless you need something beyond basic primary care. It is nice having lab, pharmacy and X-Ray in the same place but the lack of access to top quality specialists and being stuck with only Kaiser doctors is a huge negative. With other insurance if you don't like a specific office or practice you have the option of choosing somewhere else. With Kaiser, you are stuck with their mediocrity and have no choice.
I was diagnosed with advanced cancer in 2022. Despite me very clearly sharing my concerns that I had cancer (based on knowing my history and my lab results at the time) with both Primary Care and the Urologist, they did nothing. I specifically asked about getting an MRI…nope, Urologist wanted to wait. So, I waited about 4 months then he finally orders the MRI and it comes back with likely advanced cancer. My "Kaiser Experience" continued to deteriorate from there: everything being pushed to email and phone, nurses who don't follow through with what they are asked, zero support for cancer patients, etc. (I've had other people in the area reach out to me who have shared very similar bad experiences with multiple, different Kaiser doctors. My experiences are not unique.). With Kaiser, you absolutely must advocate for yourself and your family because you have to push hard to get timely, quality care. If you think Kaiser is going to watch out for you, you are very mistaken. There are some good doctors but they can be very hard to find.
After multiple bad experiences with different doctors and other staff, I'll never recommend Kaiser Permanente to anyone.
I would like to mention an amazing heart-felt LN, L. N Mrs. Sukirti Sharma she is my nutritionist and she is very caring understanding, and full of helpful tips to help me live better. I am thankful for her kind and nurturing deminer, she makes me feel comfortable even when I do not follow all of her suggestions, she continues to make me feel welcomed and will continue to encourage me. If you are looking for an amazing nutritionist Mrs. S, Sharma located in the K. P. in Manassas Virginia is the person to go to.
I've been with Kaiser for almost three decades, everytime I've had a medical issue (3 times), Kaiser has referred or redirected me to a local hospital emergency room, as Kaiser's emergency was understaffed. All appointments I've tried to make typically take months, and when seen, I'm booked out weeks for treatment and told to go to ER if it gets worse. Twice I have gone almost septic or went septic, one was gall bladder ( Kaiser delayed surgery since it was around Christmas) the other diagnosed TMJ but was actually a tooth abscess. I'm hoping I can get out of Kaiser next enrollment, it's really mismanaged and over subscribed.
This is a terrible organization. I took my gf to the ER yesterday and the doctors and nurses didn't have a clue what the other was doing or had done. The nurse didn't even know what she had already done a few minutes before, she brought in the same supplies again, I couldn't believe it. Then, mid sentance, the doctor took a phone call on his mobile and never came back. I'm not a member and my gf is moving to PPO as soon as she can.
Avoid at all costs! I have had a lump in my pelvic area for two months. I have had multiple apts and tests and spent over $400 in copays and tests with no results. They don't care and will put u on a wait for referral forever. Had to wait almost 2
Months to see a Gyno?! Kaisers a joke. Looking to spend over $1000 a month to pay for insurance just to avoid this cult
Answer: Scam. I left a review of my personal experience on a different posts. Basically they don't mind taking money from you as long as you don't need help.
