JCWhitney has the worst customer service I have ever run into.
I was missing a 4 dollar spark plug from my order.
Instead of just replacing it. I went through three emails and two phone calls. They actually just about accused me of not checking the box good enough. The box was 6 inches by 6 inches. I would have to be blind not to see the sixth spark plug.
They seem to have a bunch of outsourced people in customer service that go through check lists instead of listening to the customer.
Have never seen such terrible customer service over a 4 dollar item...

"I placed an order with them on Apr. 4th and paid via PayPal same date.! 0 days later they still had not contacted me bout shipping or a tracking number, so I contacted them. They assured me that It would be shipped by the 14th and sent a email stating that they expected my item to be shipped this date. Two days later and several phone and email inquireis with assurances that it would be shipped the same day and a promises that they would refund 10% back for my troubles, Still no tracking number or refund! They were all talk no action. I would be very weary about placing and order with them or beleave anything they tell you ALL LIES! "

I placed an order with JC whitney on 3/2 for a part that said on their web site it would take 8-9 days to ship. On 3/16/15 they still did not have accurate shipping information about the part. They could not tell me when the part would arrive. They gave me a tracking ID number and the company that they say is handling the shipment had no knowledge of the shipment. When I called to ge tmore information from JC whitney they could not give me any help at all. When I finally ask for a refund I was told it would take 4 to 7 days for my refund. I will never order another part from this company. I have spent more time than the part is worth on hold tracking this part.

Ordered parts and paid with PayPal. They didn't use my shipping address (same as billing) but used previous address from PayPal. Called when I got email. Said it was shipped USPS. Was shipped and delivered to old (wrong) address by FedEx. Called Fedex and they said to call JC. Called and supervisor said there was nothing he could do. I explained Fedex would pick up and deliver to me if JC just called them and requested a call back. He refused. He told me just to go to the old house and get it. Yeah like I'm gonna drive and hour to a stranger's house to ask them to give me my package. Company is a joke. First and last order. Call center sounded like the scene from Boiler Room.

Given my experiences and also reading the majority of reviews posted herein, there is obviously little to no reason to ever use JCW again as a parts provider. If you see a good review, I seriously doubt if it is a valid review, simply a shiller paid for a positive posting.

I ordered rims for my sons truck and they sent me the wrong rims but because it was after the 30 days they would not exchange it or give us our money back. Now we have over $400 in a set of rims that we can not use nor could they tell us what the rims fit. Now this will not be a part of his Christmas, sad. Very sad.

I ordered a replacement windshield wiper motor but when the package arrived, it contained a tension pulley or something similar; it definitely wasn't a windshield wiper motor. When I called to have the correct part sent out, it was such a palava just trying to get them to understand that I didn't order the wrong part but rather THEY sent me the wrong part. The person I talked to couldn't understand that I didn't actually have a windshield wiper motor to send back and tried to process it as a simple return. Finally, after she secured the Return Authorization and was about to end the call I had to stop her and ask about having the correct item sent out. At that point, I think it finally resonated with her that they sent me the wrong part and I wasn't returning a windshield wiper motor. She entered a new order to have the motor sent to me but made no offer to expedite the order or send the replacement by priority mail. When I asked how soon they could get it to me she quoted the normal processing and shipping times. I ardently expressed my displeasure with her lack of concern over my inconvenience. Hopefully the rain and snow will hold off until I get my new windshield wiper motor.

It's my first time to order and definitely the last. I ordered a part on Saturday then that very same minute I realized it did not ask me for the shipping address so I had to call their customer service that moment and have the address changed then call again the next two days giving me bull$#*! reasons. I have never encountered vet incompetent customer service and a system that they don't even can change the shipping address. It's like they wanted me to help them do it because they can't wherein on my end I called fedex but fedex told me it has to be the shipper who should change the address. I can't even cancel the order because they said they can't do it. This company should make some changes or they should just close their business. Next time, I'll just buy at amazon!

I ordered two caliper pistons which I was told they come with a gaskets and O-rings kit. At the time of ordering, I doubled check over the phone if the gaskets are included, I was told twice that they are. They were not included. I called the customer service and explain the issue. They admitted their fault and said to me to look elsewhere for the gasket set and call them back because J. C. Whitney would credit this. When I called them back with the gaskets cost, they denied all the previous agreements. My call was forwarded to a part "specialist" who told me there will be no discount and if I'm not happy with this to return the pistons and have the money back except for a 29% restocking fee. When I argued that I was misinformed from the beginning, he answered that the first agent I was talking to was a new one, and this is not his problem. So in the end instead of a credit for the missing gasket kit I end up with an additional restocking fee of 29%. I will return the pistons and I will never buy from this company again.

I have been a customer of JC whitney since the catalog days and they keep getting better. I do miss the days of getting the specialized VW or motorcycle catalog in my mailbox. I never owned either but still read both cover to cover. I have been able to keep my own car on the road and help my son restore his Mustang LX all with JC Whitnery.

I ordered over a 100 dollars worth of merchandise from them that was in stock on their website and never heard anything back from them for almost a month. Do I sent them an email explaining my frustration and concerns and informed them that not only did I want my order canceled but that I also would no be purchasing anything from then again. Days later I get a response telling me that they acknowledge that I want to cancel my order but go on to say that they can't guarantee that it will be stopped. I get that sometimes these things happen but you would think that they would have the resources to know what's been ordered and how long it was ago that the order was placed. I'd also like to point out that no where in the response email was there any kind of apology or concern with my experience with them, not a single thing that would make me understand they heard my concerns and actually cared and to me that spoke louder then anything. If you don't care enough about me as a costumer then I don't care enough to give you my business.

Run! Do not waste your time or money with these folks. After sending me the wrong item and weeks of sending them photos of why the item was wrong, they still will not pay to have it shipped back. The latest excuse is the picture on line may not be what the product looks like. Horrible customer service. There are way too many companies for auto parts to mess with these idiots.

Terrible customer service

Ordered front and rear floor mats for car. Received only the rear mats. When I called checking on balance of order, I was told it would take 1-2 days before they could give me a shipping date of the Front Floor mats.

They do not monitor their orders and email customers when order is shipping in complete. Will not buy from them again.

Ordered a steering tube and bearing for my jeep they sent the tube no bearing customer service told me it did not come with bearing but the catalog said it did customer service said to bad send it back if you don't like it. Same time I ordered 3 bags of exhaust studs 10 to a bag as advertised in catalog i got 3 studs NO not 30 like I should have got just 3 studs customer service said to bad send them back if you dont like it I told them that it must be a mistake on the price they said no it isnot that would make the studs cost 10 dollars a stud, they should be about a 1.00 to 1.50 a peace customer service sucks the worst ever

Only use them if you have no concerns on when items arrives. It may be fast, or could take a long time. Their website states how prompt they are, but they source out the items sold and to be shipped. They can’t tell you if the item is in stock, or when available. If you call customer service you’ll get the Philippines, and they provide standard answers.

Awful company

Awful company. I buy many auto parts and I will never use them again. I ordered a fender for a 1994 vehicle that was advertised on their website to fit my vehicle. They sent me a fender for a much earlier vehicle. Then they refused to pay shipping to take it back, and of course they didn't have the actual fender I needed. They did proceed to fill my email with their spam though. Thank you JC Whitney for nothing but a bill.

Great web site

Great web site. But they tell you the items will be shipped within 5 business days. I waited two weeks for chrome parts for my 1999 Ford F150 that I was rebuilding. After the two weeks, I asked the service reps at JC to canc my order and not bill my credit card. They told me they "may be able" to stop the charge but had to contact the manufacturer to see if they would stop the billing. "May" be able to stop the charge. I was furious and told them to either stop the billing because they had not fulfilled their guarantee of shipping within 5 business days. I now buy from Auto Parts Warehouse.

I started ordering from them many years ago, back in the early 60's, when their name was "Warshawsky & Co." Never had an issue with price, but people must remember in order to get that low price, they will drop ship from other warehouses throught the country and foreign. It doesn't hurt to pick up the phone and call them directly in Chicago to get a LIVE person to give you an approximate time period and not always trust the time given on the internet.

Fair price. Terrible delivery time. I got compromised with a client to have his bike ready for the weekend, counting on the delivery time promised... big mistake. The parts arrived in different deliveries on different days and all i was buying was 2 slip-on mufflers and the support clamps, nothing fancy.
Now I have to give my client a discount for the delay and JCW will not compensate at all.
I wont buy here anymore and If I would have read the reviews before, i wouldnt have buy from them. My fault in part
