I placed my first order through Costco. I saw the blurb at the top saying prices will be slightly higher so I went to look at their website. The website says they charge 5%. I would have been okay with that. I received my order 5 days later and was charged 20% over the total on the Costco receipt! $305 for $241 worth of groceries, of course you can't contact anyone because their site is experiencing "higher than usual" traffic. Probably a lot of angry, soon to be ex-customers. I will NEVER use this service again. How do they get away with this? Such blatant misrepresentation.
I had been complaining about Instacart's poor service, mostly the fact that more than 1/2 of the deliveries did not show up on time, as well as some very questionable substitutions, when I discovered that my account had been locked so that any complaint would have to go through a special review process. When I asked what I had done wrong, they would not answer. Not one word, not one email, not one phone call. They just referred me to a generic set of customer guidelines, which were completely useless. They have obviously chosen a high volume / low service model. Buyer beware. It is obvious why Instacart is 53rd on this site with a 1.27 rating. They choose profits over customer satisfaction.
Completely clueless customer help, claiming they could not find my account?!? They would not look up my order with my confirmation number. I received crushed bread loaves, a 12 oz. Bag instead of 48 oz, bag of $9.50 frozen fruit, only one box of two cereals, and a missing gallon of orange juice. Totaling nearly $20. I feel stolen from. This is a smaller shopping list of 24 items. The shopper did not ring the doorbell as requested thus leaving milk, eggs, and cheese out in the sun. I lost a generous tip I trustingly added the the incompetent shopper. I'll NEVER USE INSTACART AGAIN!
I am disabled and my mom is 92 years. I would get an email from Instacart for free delivery. Not true. I have been charged for one box being slightly heavier than the rest. After many calls to San Fran (home office), I was assured that the offers sent to me were valid. NOPE! I paid $ 49.00 extra for an $83.00 order. I am 0-3 in success with the PROMISE over the phone, the delivery is free they kept telling me. Last order a tip of 30 dollars was suggested and it took days to put back a "deposit' they took out of my bank for security. It is so crooked all together and if I was not disabled I would have NEVER subjected myself or any friend. Helpful customer service is not on their "script" they read to you, Time to diet mom!
Told I would be on hold for 3 minutes and I am now at the 50 minute mark or having to listen to the most annoying keyboard I have ever heard.
The on-boarding of their site is not clear and almost ensures you sign up for the express membership without really knowing what the other options are. It is sad that companies still practice automatic renewals as well.
Before ordering with instacart please read my review! Im so mad at this service that want everyone to hear!
1- delivery cost was not mentioned, while i put the order, it added 9.99 for delivery which is absolutely ridiculous! You might say ok you could cancel the order. Yes TRUE! I technically should have been able to cancel; but guess what. The cancel button did not work! I tried to cancel by phone, online any how... wasted almost 45 minute and could not cancel it ---
The order:
The order came on time however IT WAS LEFT AT MY DOOR!
AND the worst: Milk in my order was completely out of fridge with no ice-cube protection in this 90+degree weather!
Also they brought me a different brand!
Ridiculous
I'm yeah. I had a girl knock on my door and just leave the bags at the front door. Did not even say goodbye after leaving them. You know I've had quite a few different people deliver to me and some are good and send more bad but to be honest this stupid inconsiderate and rude delivery people or of a certain race. That's why no one wants to hire him
As a senior with medical issues, I rely on delivery. I placed my first order yesterday; 2 hours later received a message saying "rescheduled for tomorrow." I called, explained the situation. "I need to eat today. Now I can't because you screwed up. And I can't get a refund for 5 days?" Their results "Sorry" Not good enough. I have Parkinson's, on disability and cannot drive. Limited income! Had I known you'd so utterly fail,I'd have ordered elsewhere!. It's the following day now. No money for 6-7 days because you have it. And NO FOOD. You took the money instantly, you can certainly return it instantly—if you chose to. So much for your "Senior Support" hoopla, huh?
I was using instacart pretty regularly despite the delivery fee, service charge, and tip. In my last order there was a printer receipt from Whole Foods showing the actually amount for the groceries was $25 less than what I was charged. When I asked instacart about it, they said they can not honor coupons or specials and I got this receipt "by mistake". Yeah one big fat mistake! I wrote back expressing that I would like to close my account and I got the same robotic answer to look in the help section for info about pricing. My order was $277. If you add 6.99 for delivery, the service charge they now add and a tip, I'm paying over $100 bucks more for the food in the bags. Total rip off. What a shame. It could be good. But they obviously have no clue that people can actually add.
Senior citizens please read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on all sites before using their services. I have had charges posted on my credit card statement from a company for the months. I had no ideal that when I ordered groceries ($121.85) there would be an charge ($74.10) for the groceries, plus a charge for company. I have been ordering every sense the virus started (without checking my statement) so you can imagine how much I have paid the company, even though the stores were a hop, skip and jump away from my house. Senior, please be careful with your online orders and please read the small print. Most of up are retired and living a fixed income, but when it comes to money, companies can care less about our situations.
Do instacart shoppers have to be so rude? They all have their headphones in and race running through Costco against the flow of traffic and don't care who is in their path. They are all so annoyed that you are traveling at a normal shopping pace through the aisles. Sorry I'm not a young, single hipster on a deadline to make money while I shop for groceries. It's just me and my toddler picking up our regular goods and trying out samples like everyone else. At least I know to watch out for the green t-shirts and ear buds charging my way!
I order delivery from Fred Meyer (aka Kroger) by Instacart every week. My orders are $150-175 and I live close to the store < 2 miles. I tip $20-25.00 each time. If I make the mistake of allowing substitutions, at least once a month the driver will add a couple of items for themselves. Usually it's $10-15.00. Instacart makes refunds for the missing items that are charged to me as difficult as is possible.
If I had one recommendation, it's watch your charges closely. Instacart employs shifty people. It's not a lot of money, but it is annoying. Instacart KNOWS that they have a problem, but they are completely unwilling to compensate you for their petty theft.
Shopper did a good job most of the time. It was the charges that were being made to my credit card. I always asked for the Kroger receipt to be put on my grocery bags. Instacart was charging me $10,$15, and even $22 more than the actual bill at checkout. I had to call every time to get it adjusted. This last time they blamed it on Kroger setting different prices online than what you actually pay for in store. $10 this go around. Yeah, I don't think so! Ripping people off and blaming someone else
It's like when you contact them for an issue they just run around in circles and never really help you to solve your issue. Like many others my receipt was accidentally left in my bag which (1 is unusual that we never get our receipts in the first place?) second of all i've contacted them about this numerous times but they always say "the retailer sets their price"? Okay and regardless I was still charged less on the receipt that the actual instacart receipt so i'm not sure why i can't get the money back? Some shady business going on. Firstly they need to start putting the receipts in the bag because i'm pretty sure this is how they get over on people. This app really needs some change
They delivery randomly no matter the time frame that you picked. So rude management as well. They let the fresh food on the sun,in the floor.it stayed there for an hour and half,83 degrees day, when I complaint about it they told me to throw it away, because they would refund me for the inconvenience. But then they decide to chance their mind! Unbelievable...sorry you guy will be break down very soon, horrible service, horrible everything!
Me and my dad spent the rest of out cash on an instacart delivery from kingsoopers, The employee/driver dropped off my groceries at the WRONG house, me and my dad ended up starving because of their incompetence. Insta didn't want to do anything about it and blamed kroger (kingsoopers) Kroger gave me a refund but im still waiting on it to go through (that 3-7 days bs). Sitting here now eating cake mix cause thats all i bloody have... never again, lesson learned. Do not trust your cash with Instacart, if they dont deliver your stuff to the wrong house they'll substitute everything they can!
This is an absolutely awful company that doesn't care about anything except their own bottom line. They charged my bank account over $1500 in one night. I woke up to an overdrawn account. Lucky my bank had experience with them doing this to customers before. When they treat customers this way, I can only imagine how they treat their employees. I will get the money back, they promise, in 5-10 business days. Don't do this to yourself. Instacart is terrible. If you are high risk health-wise, don't rely on these ppl. There's no way to contact them once they take your money. Repugnant. I will remember exactly how this made me feel for a very, very, very long time.
I placed my first and last instacart order today. The shopper charged me for items that I did not order, nor did I receive. The fraudulent charges added up to under $20, but if each shopper does this several times a day, they can purchase their own groceries using customer's payment methods. Most people are probably trusting the service providers to be honest and probably don't even check their final receipt.
It appears that some shoppers are illiterate. I have had food delivered that I never ordered. It went straight from my porch to the trash. Not a good use of my money.
Now that Prop. 22 has passed, these people who get it wrong will be getting benefits and higher wages. That translates into consumers paying even more for bad service.
I am going to hire kids working their way through school (any kind) and pay them cash. Then my money will go for food and a trusted person -- not for overhead to a corporation. Instacart is no longer a valuable service for me.
I was overcharged $30 by a shopper who didn't unerstand you had to be sure to charge for the correct weight of weighted items and instacart support said there was nothing they could do even after I provided proof. Then, on another order I was charged over $20 for bags - which I assume was some sort of glitch - when I received no bags at all. That's over $50 they've stolen from me with no help from their support team. Steer clear of these crooks.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
