I have the yearly plan which was over $100 for a year. But recently, my usual items have been way over priced on the app. By 4 or 5 bucks in some cases! And sale items are no longer listed, either. Decided to go do my shopping in person and the difference in prices on the app vs. in store were simply outrageous. It's a scam. It's definitely not worth it and I'm canceling Instacart. They gouge their customers on usual items once you've made enough orders. Sick of companies like this.
Was really looking for my grocery delivery, especially after the website said it would only take 2 hours!
Almost immediately after placing my order this morning, I get a text that Melanie C. Is my shopper. Within 5 minutes, it said my order was complete. Wow, Melanie is quick!)Within another few minutes, the text said my groceries were delivered! WHAT?
I proceed to go online and not only does it confirm my groceries were delivered, but Melanie C. ADDED $144 in baby formula on my debit card!
I called Instacart and they put me on hold to try to reach her. No answer of course.
After some back and forth, they said they would refund the baby formula and gave me the option of having my groceries resent or just the order refunded.
I dont blame Instacart, however they are saying I have to WAIT 5-10 days to get a refund! I researched that they do background checks on their drivers (apparently you can also be a felon and still work for them) and they would of also required her drivers license so I hope she gets caught!
All in all, I am the one that has to wait 5-10 days for my money back. And I dont think Instacart should allow the shopper to just add items I never ordered to my cart without my authorization!
The still owe me 55.00. They are a total rip off. I deleted their app and will follow my card in case they take more.
Insta cart needs to be help responsible for ripping people off during a pandemic and any time they have ripped me a new one so many times and I don't have Time to spend fighting this however I am going to make time and perhaps a class action suit for them! They have never. Refunded me on anything and many many times I get half of what I ordered how can I give proof when. Instacart keeps the receipts!
Instacart is a TOTAL rip off. Horrible customer service. Gives you the runaround. Promises supervisor call within a certain time. Never receive call. Places a hold on your purchase. If error on their end no immediate refund and offered next day delivery instead of same day as paid for. You can send all the emails you want. No response is provided. So disappointing in this time of COVID. Expecting better customer service for orders and you are just left to the side. Your business is not honored and they do not hold up to their promises.
Dissatisfied customer
I was told that my delivery would be before noon. Four hours later I still haven't got my purchase. Absolutely no information from instacart about delivery delays or eta of delivery. Had to call instacart for information and they basically had none. Worse delivery service ever. I will never use this service again.
Senior citizens please read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on all sites before using their services. I have had charges posted on my credit card statement from a company for the months. I had no ideal that when I ordered groceries ($121.85) there would be an charge ($74.10) for the groceries, plus a charge for company. I have been ordering every sense the virus started (without checking my statement) so you can imagine how much I have paid the company, even though the stores were a hop, skip and jump away from my house. Senior, please be careful with your online orders and please read the small print. Most of up are retired and living a fixed income, but when it comes to money, companies can care less about our situations.
We submitted a large order from Costco. My son does not have a car in college. We were very pleased and gave a large tip. Of course you pay more but why do people think that a company shopping for you and delivering your groceries should be free or low charge? Time is money and this is worth it. Tip these guys well that are work hard.
I had made 4 orders so far. 2 of them were delivered to someone else's and I got someone else's order as well. I even got my correct receipt on the wrong order... I didn't even had the option to have it being redelivered today because it was too late and the next available it would be at 11 am the next day according to the customer service. I want my order today, it's not my fault that it wasn't delivered correctly but the charges were made! Anyway the refund will take 5-10 business days! I will surely never use this app ever again! The least the shopper can do is paying attention to which customer ordered what and delivery it correctly! I'm really mad! The picture shows what I order (receipt) and what I actually got! Totally different stuff!
Below is an email I wrote to Instacart on Friday, February 12,2021 after Instacart refused to immediately refund the money they fraudulently placed in my debit card:
My "request" for a refund is not due to anything I ordered! It was a charge placed on my account for $176.00 that your "shopper" purchased without my authorization or knowledge! Obviously, the shoppers you hire are crooks and now I'm wondering about you too!
This is not my problem! Instacart has essentially defrauded me out of $176 for something they know I never ordered and never received. It's none of my business what Instacart's internal process is, that's for you to work out, but you're holding me and my money hostage for your own failures!
Instacart has left me penniless and unable to provide groceries for myself due to this fraudulent charge! I will do everything in my power to make sure people know about this egregious attempt to make your customers responsible for the bad actors you hire. No one else should have to go through this, especially not a senior citizen such as myself! At this point, you need to send someone to my door, today, with cash in the amount and t of $176. If not, you are leaving a senior citizen without food and without any means to purchase food in the coming days ahead and that will be sending a clear message about your corporate culture and its priorities.
Meanwhile, I'm sure, not even one of your executives will be going hungry this weekend!

Absolutely hands down the worst company ever! I downloaded the app two months ago, signed up to make some extra money with Instacart. They ran my background through checkr in which it came back clear for me to work. However, the Instacart app still said "background pending". I reached out to their "care team" approx 7 times, to be told they had emailed me a background check form every time I spoke with them. This is bogus! Both grubhub and postmates reached out to me within a couple of days after my background showing cleared on checkr. I do have something on my driving records from over 7 years ago. I completely believe that Instacart discriminates, even when it's not legal! You should be ashamed of yourselves, none of you are helpful, and you make it impossible for new employees to sign-up. I wouldn't waste your time! GRUBHUB has been amazing AND they will pay you a minimum of $15/HR! It's like night and day. Instacart is the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I've lived and worked in many countries!
Working with Andres was pleasure he was very professional, knowledgeable, considerate. The link only lets me give you 5 * but my ratting is 10********** Thank You so much. I will do business with you again
Instacart order from Publix. My favorite place to shop. BUT NEVER AGAIN with INSTACART!
38 item order over $200 dollars LATE by 1 hour and 34 minutes. First shopper abandoned the order! DO NOT assume everything is going smoothly. Resolution to late delivery $5 off order or free next delivery!
And if an item does not come be sure to ASK FOR A REFUND... not the Credit to your next order which is all that they will mention.
Not Worth the Hassle
DO NOT USE INSTACART!
Buyer Beware using Instacart! Lesson learned for me tonight when I had Instacart deliver my Costco order! I requested a receipt and they told me that it is against Instacart policy to give a paper receipt. Now i know why!
So I contacted Costco and was able to obtain a copy.
Total product cost from Instacart is $235.
My receipt is $189.
Total cost for using their service tonight $76.86 for a $189 order.
Instacart does not true up the actual cost of the product if it is LESS than their website, only if the item is MORE then they charge you more. This includes weight of meat! If you get less than the pound, you pay for the full pound!
Not to mention their markup then increases their fees that are also assessed!
So I called instacart and I was on hold for 40 minutes before a supervisor connected and refused to refund the difference in product cost. I was educated that there is a clause that you pay the website cost not the store cost regardless of the difference.
Needless to say, this lesson made me furious as this $45 is above and beyond their other fees that I can clearly see in the total.
If you know someone older or needing assistance, who is using instacart, warn them to ask a neighbor to help them out!
This is a shame and very frustrating.

Wish I could give them -100. Order not delivered but marked delivered. The shopper didn't knew where she is delivering. Highly super duper pathetic.
Same experience as other people on here. I placed an order at 11am. Never received a call or text to say they would be late. At 6pm I called to find out what was happening. They said the order would be here by 8pm. It's 9:30 now. I just called again and they said they could schedule delivery by 8am tomorrow. As soon as I hung up I got a text saying the order would be here by 12. They shouldn't be in business if they can't provide the service they advertise.
Update--I just called again and they said they won't be able to deliver until Tuesday. Today is Sunday. I hope the milk doesn't spoil!
They are kinda fishy about customers personal information. I have an account and i want to reset password, but the reset page just won't open, I chatted with the support online, considering deactivate my account, and the internet went off, but when i got back on my account was deactivated already, before they ask me for confirmation. I called the support this time, and he asked me something unrelated like "are you in u.s.?" and after i said no, he changed my postal code into u.s. postal code.
This instacart is a joke, I don't think I trust them dealing with my personal info. Anymore.
I don't normally do reviews but wanted to share this one. I had a coupon and it was to expire on the 20th of January. I used it that morning and since I waited until the last day. I was told I was too late by a young lady in customer service and she refused to give it to me. We're talking about 15.00 dollars. Please make sure you are willing to take the risk when shopping with this instacart. I will not be using it in the future. It's not about the money but the principle about the process. Most coupons doest expire until midnight on the day of expiration. Thanks for reading! Just venting, what a sad company to be so petty, in this day and time! She had to call and get approval to give me a 15.00 credit. Just SAD!

I just posted a review of their service on their page and they promptly deleted it.
My review detailed how we've had many negative issues with their employees in the past of stating that the groceries we ordered were out of stock or did not exist. Tonight was the final straw for me... after the umpteenth time that we had this issue, I finally decided to handle it myself. About 20 minutes after we had our groceries delivered, I went to the store to verify that the items the employee said were missing/out of stock were indeed not there. As expected, I found ALL of the items that were claimed to be gone (and it wasn't just one or two items that they said were out of stock, but an entire list). A couple of examples- employee said that the toilet paper we ordered was out of stock- there was literally an ENTIRE PALLET of the toilet paper there... not in some obscure place, but right there... on the toilet paper aisle, with all of the other bathroom tissue. Another example- the employee said that the store had a sale with their strawberries at 99 cents and they were cleaned out and completely out of them. When I arrived, not only did the employee lie about the price on the strawberries, but I found TWO ENTIRE DISPLAYS of them. The first one was obviously picked over some (but there were plenty of strawberry packs still available for sure), but the second one was COMPLETELY FULL. Again... not in some obscure location, but right there in the produce section... with all of the other produce.
I called the customer support line to express my grievances at *******822. I normally don't write negative reviews because I get it... that sometimes things happen or perhaps they hired the wrong employee. But when we've had so many issues all with the same problems, it is clearly not just an employee issue- it is a company issue... from the way the company is organized, how they train their employees, or how they manage those employees. Blaming the worker only works for so long... but after so many negative experiences, this is definitely a company problem. And the fact that they removed my review immediately, tells me that this company is in fact entirely trash and lacks integrity and transparency.
See attached pictures of the items that we were told were completely out of stock and how obvious it was for me to find them:
I paid $20.10 over the cost of buying in the supermarket. For a $46.04 order, I paid $66.68, and
D that was with free delivery. That is a 44.83% increase of prices-totally unacceptable. I will not be using Instacart again and I will be telling my relatives and friends not to use it also.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
