I sent several different types of media to be digitized. Some were over 50 years old. They did an excellent job with the digitization. There were some vHS tapes that were sent but did not get digitized. These were the ones that were from a knowledge bowl that my brother was a part of. I assumed that this may have been because they were from the television. It was the local PBS station so I doubt there were copyrights. I did not get any feedback as to why they were not digitized.
So happy I was able to use this service to preserve our family movies, and photos. This was money well spent.
It was a very simple process and original photos returned as promised.
There were some hidden costs in this when you get to check out like the cost to ship back your photos. I also thought they were going to do some touch ups and things on the photos to enhance quality but it really just seems they scanned the photos. They did handle the photos with care - some of the ones I sent were over 50 years old - and were returned in the same condition we shipped them, which of course I greatly appreciate.
Overall it was "okay". I had a 50% off coupon so that really helped. Had I paid full price for what I received I would have been angry and felt a little ripped off. In retrospect, I guess I would have shopped around some more to see if there was a better option/company to digitize my photos

IMemories specializes in creating a digital copy of old home movie films, videotapes, photos, slides, and negatives so they can be viewed again with today's technology. When we do the digital conversion the photos are dry cleaned, scanned through dust filters and put through a color correction process, to help the colors look natural. We do not however do any restoration services. That is outside of the digital conversion process. We certainly apologize for any delays in the download requests. They can take a bit of time to process. We do not keep the downloadable files on your account, as that would slow down the site. Once the file has been moved from our servers to your account, you can download right to your devices. I took a risk and mailed my most precious memories to iMemories and they took expert care of them and now I can watch my movies whenever I want by using the app. I can even share some videos with family and friends.
The VHS tapes I sent were very old. IMemories did the best they could and I'm happy with being able to see them online.
My family flipped over seeing our old home videos. I think I might be the favorite child for surprising my family with these.

I enjoyed the experience with IMemories. It was easy to purchase the box for my VHS and HI8 Tapes. I was informed every step of the way with my precious memories.
It was nice to have these memories digitally. The digital quality is poorer than the VHS quality. But not terrible. The shipping cost both ways was extremely high and the service was really slow. Have to wait until the next day after requesting digital download. I would not use this service again. I'll find someone local.

Our team will review and research all issues to ensure we get the best capture possible based on the condition and quality of the original recording. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for the digital file to be moved from our servers to your account. Once that is ready you can download to your device. The process was very simple but the cost of the digitizing is expensive.
I would like to be able to copy and edit the digitized videos.
My children were sooooo excited about these videos. My TV wasn't "smart" so they brought me a new TV so I can watch these at our leisure. I'd never seen videos of my Aunt and Uncle's Texas wedding in 1942. WOW! Guess that was on the reel to reel. I don't recall ever seeing it before. Videos of my High School friends and gatherings; along with videos of my Parents (RIP) playing poolside with my children. What a gift! Thank you for what you do. This is amazing!

By law, iMemories is not able to digitize copyrighted media such as Hollywood movies, television shows, and news broadcasts without a copyright release.
