I recently wrote a critical review of a TV show. I looked at IMDb today and my review wasn't there. They must have rejected it. But they didn't tell me they had rejected it and there is no way to see why it was rejected. Now I don't trust IMDb or its reviews.

I initially subscribed to IMDbPro for one month but decided not to continue. However, the cancellation process was unclear and unnecessarily complicated. To avoid unauthorized charges, I blocked the debit card I originally used. Without my explicit consent, IMDbPro then began charging another card linked to my Amazon account—a card I only use for Amazon purchases.

There is no indication within my Amazon account that this card was being used by IMDbPro. The two platforms appear entirely separate, with no visible connection. This lack of transparency is alarming, as it makes it impossible for customers to monitor or manage their subscriptions.

I noticed the unauthorized charges only after carefully reviewing my bank statements. IMDbPro never sent notifications, receipts, or even a warning that they would begin using a secondary card. This kind of behavior demonstrates a blatant disregard for customer trust and raises serious ethical concerns.

It's unacceptable that IMDbPro relies on vague terms hidden in subscriber agreements to justify such opaque practices. A reputable service would inform its customers and seek explicit consent before switching payment methods.

This experience has cost me time and caused unnecessary stress. IMDbPro's lack of transparency, unclear cancellation process, and questionable billing practices are deeply disappointing. If you're considering this service, be prepared to face poor communication, unauthorized charges, and a complete disregard for your rights as a consumer.

I always use the app as my go-to if undecided on a film. However like a lot of user -based review sites it's a platform for the disease known as "review bombing", often by people who've not even watched the film but got told to by Twitter lol. Ignore any review 10/10 and 1/10 and look for more balanced views which sit on between 3/10 to 8/10. It still takes a bit longer and needs reading but you'll find enough objective views. The level of customisation, library of info, lists and features is superior to Rotten tomatoes, although that can be a negative too as usability and navigation is better on RT. However the review panel for RT do seem to getting out of touch with everyday folks, particular with just plain old fun, creative escapism type films that you can sit and enjoy them with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. This is often evident in the wide score margins between critic and user review!

IMDB, an Amazon owned site, does not accurately or realistically reflect the opinions of it's users. Reviews are 'moderated'. That means if they're unflattering because they point out radical left propaganda inside of supposed entertainments, they will be censored. Similarly, the low scoring of companies paying Amazon for promotion on the site (e.g. Disney), will not objectively represent the scoring of the audience. It's all skewed to create a positive impression in the name of marketing.

I think IMDb is a great site for all movie's info, and not just for movies, for Tv shows as well. You can find everything that you need about some actor in matter of seconds, which really helped me to choose what to watch next. One more thing that I really like is that they provide you with trailer's as well, so that make my life much easier!

With the streaming service recommendations, nice to go here and see if the suggestion is a junk garbage movie or tv show or not. On movies I've watched, I decide on a score before going to the site and have found my opinion matches the average on most. Great tool. Now they have a streaming tv/movie channel. Watching Dead Like Me on it.

I wrote a fun review for an episode of "Law & Order: SVU", and I gave it ten stars. My review was rejected. I have no clue why, and they wouldn't tell me. The review had no offensive language or anything questionable. The rejection of my review made me feel bad about myself, as if I'd been reprimanded for misbehaving; and it made me feel as if I was doing something wrong by trying to share my unique, quirky opinion with the world. I got upset and deleted my account with them. If they don't want me around, that's fine. But it's probably not good for business.

I was probably why IMDb has become so bad. I often spoke my mind honestly. Now my reviews get censored before they are posted.

This site is heavily manipulated by the staff. They will not allow critical reviews of some movies/shows. I suspect they have some financial interest in these cases. They also censor anyone with a conservative view point and anyone that criticizes wokeness. You can literally test this yourself by posting two reviews of the same movie (one critical and one supportive). The supportive one will be published almost immediately while the negative one will never be published. Bottom line, you can't trust this site as they are dirty.

This website is filled with so much promotional material that it is unusable. There are positive reviews of films and programs before they are released. Bigoted comments are seen in some reviews and they are not removed.

When a site decides to delete reviews wholesale it is not a reliable site. Case in point, there are no reviews below 6 on the site for 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'. There is absolutely NO CHANCE that this is even remotely possible. The show is produced by Amazon which owns this website. That should tell you all you need to know.

I was once an active member of Mandy but I listened to some advice from others and signed on with a rival site for production work. I have not worked and only paid fees in a space where nobody knew me and i couldn't get help. Hence, I have returned to Mandy where I was active when I was actively working on films and television series in New York. Although I am based in Los Angeles these days, my past positive experiences with Mandy and associates using the site gives me hope for brighter days ahead. Of course the slow down in work was partially due to covid, but we are back up and running now and I aim to work.

IMDB takes way too long to go to my account settings. It was well over thirty minutes and the site never loaded. For an Amazon owned website, this is completely unacceptable.

I just posted a review of "Elvis" last week. I think, for the first time ever, I had the majority of readers agree with it and it was getting popular. I logged into IMDB only to find my review was totally removed. There was nothing controversial about it, nothing remotely offensive, I simply described why I did not like the movie. IMDB made it disappear. I won't be surprised if they make my "Prey" review disappear too.

I mean, this is a movie review site. The minute you start making reviews disappear because you didn't agree with them is the minute your site loses any and all credibility. Simply put, you cannot trust this site anymore. It's not what it used to be. There are plenty of uncensored social media sites we are allowed to express our views on, so good luck with this strategy guys.
