Get an 'assigned' delivery date, they tell you to be home for, then you take the day off work only to find out 'oh, that's not a guaranteed date'... because now they switched over their 'intended' delivery svc to fedex and while their site STILL says 'arrives today' you go to fedex and they don't even HAVE IN HAND your order yet! So you WASTE more time doing an Ikea chat to ask, is it coming today or not? (you would THINK SOMEONE THERE could just find out if the order has been handed off to a fedex co. Yet or not?), but all you get back is their idiotic more TIME WASTING 'how are you' bot comments, and then you wait for a reply only to have them repeat all the info you already got online on your own, but was USELESS to finding out WHEN it is coming?! WHY BOTHER having a chat system if all they do is READ off the same info from your acct that you can see yourself (and can't even answer as to why their site STILL shows it as delivering TODAY when fedex is showing 'waiting for pkg handoff'?)... bad enough Ikea raising their prices to insane levels (well past using gas increase as an EXCUSE for squeezing more money out of people for stuff you have to then build yourself anyway... with most of it being nothing but cheap PRESSBOARD anyway!), and then they can't even get their act together to offer you SOME SORT of UPDATE that MAKES SENSE? Won't be shopping them again anytime soon! (sometimes it's the WRONG stores that GO UNDER!)

Ordering from IKEA was a nightmare, and I will never order from them again. The company I work for was preparing to do renovations to our office, which has to be done quickly and all at once so that our office is shut down for as little time as possible. (Office shut down = no revenue.) We ordered two desks for the renovations, and the whole process was scheduled around when the desks would arrive, as they were the critical part. We paid $349 for shipping, but it was not worth it.
We received an email the next week, saying the shipping company would contact us within 2-3 business days. 5 business days later, we received no call. Therefore, we called IKEA, who attempted to connect us with their shipping company. I waited on hold for 30 minutes with no response. I then called the shipping company myself, and though I was unable to speak to a person, I was put on hold. I was on hold for 2 hours, unable to work efficiently or take calls during those 2 hours. The next day, I called again, and was told they were closed the previous day due to bad weather. I was never told this by IKEA or the shipping company. IKEA, using the shipping company, should have known this, and been able to answer our question.
Finally, I was able to call and get ahold of the shipping company. I was put on hold and rerouted multiple times until they finally gave me the appropriate tracking number and the number for the local shipping company they used.
I called this separate company, and after being put on hold again, they finally told me I should have received a call and the desks would be delivered.
IKEA needs to figure their shipping process out. This could have all been avoided, and they could've had multiple loyal customers if they had only done the proper thing and at least contacted us.

DISGRACEFUL
January 16, 2023

Online Purchase made for Food Item for "Click & Collect" on 2nd December. 5 December was due to drive 1.5hrs for pickup and rang first. Spoke to 2 unprofessional twits (one hung up on me - appalling customer service and poorly trained) and finally the 3rd one told me my online order was a Scam and not to drive to the Store. I was told it was a fake site and not IKEA. I rang the Bank and cancelled all my Credit Cards. Upon followup I was refused to speak to any Supervisor- they don't exist. I then got told it was a mistake, it was not a Scam, and it was the real website after all, and now they could find my Order No (couldn't before for some bizarre reason). IKEA are employing slave labour it seems who have zero care capacity and clueless about product/procedure/people. I was placed on hold twice for at least 20mins again to get someone who had no idea what to do and what was going on. I was told I'd get refund to the CC - I reminded them all Cards are cancelled as IKEA told me it was a Scam. I got old I'd get a Store Credit. I have not heard a thing back since 15th December.

We drove 128 miles to the IKEA Conshohocken store and we purchased 3 sofas and other items total over 2500 dollars and the store informed us they can deliver 2 sofas but they don't have the third one in their warehouse so they basically told us we either have to take it today with us they can't deliver it which wasn't right since we paid for the flat rate delivery anyway and they didn't make any exception or compensation even though this wasn't our fault.
We wanted everything delivered. We agreed to take one sofa home and they said they will help us with the order. They gave us the sofa and the sofa cover and we paid for everything and drove back home. We got home and put the sofa together only to find that they gave us a cover for a chair, not a sofa. I contacted the customer service and spoke to Tiffany who was very rude and unprofessional. She informed me I have to drive back to the store to return that one and get the right one and that is the only option. I explained that this wasn't our fault, they did us wrong from the beginning and she didn't care. I was on hold for 55 minutes then she told me there is nothing they can do I asked to speak to a supervisor, she put me on hold for another 15 minutes then she told me there is no supervisor available and I requested a call back and documenting this incident then she said there is a supervisor available now.
She asked me to hold and I did for another 10 minutes then they hanged up. I am ready to give birth in 10 days and I explained to her this is a 50 dollar problem and we paid 2500 they should be able to deliver the correct item for us as a courtesy. I was treated badly and felt like crab. This is not customer service and the store, the customer service and their supervisor should be held liable for their unprofessional action. This is my first time buying from Ikea and will be my last.

Appliances
January 19, 2021

Good Afternoon,
I am so disappointed of Appliance form IKEA and never will recommend to buy any appliances from IKEA! NEVER!
I bought dishwasher for nearly $1000! Seriously $1000 dishwasher which was repaired nearly 7 times in 3 years! Yep! True!
The oven and microwave cost me also too much money! MY mistake! I bought the most expensive microwave and oven! Really! Never recommend!
I was even ok with those items!
BUT NO! Listen to this!
My cooktop! Yes! MY mistake! I bought induction cooktop from IKEA!
On 7th day of December 2020 the half of cooktop stoped working! There was a code F47! I called customer servise! They schedule me for repair on DEC 22nd! Yes! Dec 22nd - just before Christmas! I menntioned that I need someone to come with necessary parts to repair it! EASY! Right!
But NO! It wasn't easy and clearly for company hired by IKEA!
The guy who came to my house said "" good Afternoon miss. When I come here i just eealize that you need new. To fixed! I just so the problem tou indicated on the paper this morning!""" REALLY!'
And NOW, today is 19th of JANUARY and nobody even contact me!
NOBODY!
My induction cooktop is nit working for more that 1 month!
I WILL NEVER, NEVER RECOMMEND IKEA TO OTHERS!
NEVER!
Don't waste your money for IKEA!

I find checking out infuriating. All items on the website should be able to be ordered. The fact that you can't purchase items as the order is too small is maddening and the fact that only the all white affluent areas seem to stock ALL the small items you would want and furniture again makes me really angry. Every single item shown on that website should be available to be shipped even if your store is low in stock. Or out of stock. Ok so it'ed low ion stock at my store and you can't ship it to me? Why. Why should I have to oder $140 more merchandise when all I want is two pot holders, a couple of zip bags and a coat hanger.

I find it troubling that they don't have stores in black and brown neighborhoods, or seem to ship many things to those same neighborhood seems rather racist, like the don't want to invest in neighborhoods that don't sport their target shopper.

Please don't waste my time and show me items I can not buy on the website. Or can't buy if stock is low at my closest store. And please make sure that you are stocking as many of those small items in the white upper middle class neighborhood stores as you are from the store that invites more diverse shoppers and a lot of lower middle class shoppers. As the message come off like we're afraid you might steal a pot holder or hook.

Some store always seem to have EVERYTHING in stock and plentiful inventory while others are always sold out or low stock. If that's a case someone is not doing their job properly and anticipating customer demand, or there is a not so subtle economic form of racism being applied. Let's keep those rich white folks down here happy, not so concerned about that store smack in a working middle class neighborhood, that caters more to students, veterans, shift workers, truck drivers, single mothers, and people of color. Guess what... we like buying those same items too, so please keep them in stock, rather than one store always having everything in stock and another always tapped out and on fumes.

Or have the items ship out from the store with a lot of stock. The "this order is too small to ship and you have to spend this much is just gross and again seems to be a bowing to the rich. Find a tiny box and ship it for crying out loud. Nothing is too small to ship but an ant. Someone should be looking into where they won't ship items or deliver furniture as I can guarantee in my experience there seems to be a racial component there as well.

There should be a reasonable household limit on how many of something people buy as what has been happening in recent years is that people will go to an Ikea empty all the stock on small items and then resell them on Amazon and Ebay at double and triple the price. Do they should not be able to let some one but 150 closet lights, 100 mirrors, or sea grass napkin holders.
