iherb take you in with the $1.55 DHL costs. Although your aware that you have to pay customer you don't expect to pay over half the order yet again to DHL. Outrageous, extortionate, and underhand. They refused a refund. I refused delivery. They then told me I would have to pay return shipping fee and packing fees!
But I beat them - I complained to the Federal Trade Commission in the States and they ordered a full refund. Lol... will never use them again. I only gave them one star because I had too.
Ordered 3 items didn't need one sent for return; when ups showed delivered few days later no refund emailed and later same day item found in warehouse, refund processed, apology email sent; seen lot of negative reviews but best prices when i was buying and friendly apology email; perhaps more out-there products are harder for them to manage since they might dropship or similar
I purchased some supplements from IHerb. Thought how bad can they be. Not only did I spend £7.5 for shipping, the custom duty is almost the cost of the purchase.
Would not touch them with a barge pole- strange that no official letter of the custom duty due is provided by IHerb or DHL. Seems like a scam where the duty (or rather so to pay) is pocketed by the company.
Never again.
I have used Iherb for a long time, and from now on, I will never be using them again.
My problem was not about paying taxes, it was the fact that now DHL is holding my package and won't let me process it with our country's custom office without paying DHL, the COURIER company 20 euros. When I thought I already paid for shipping and all I need to pay extra is the duties and taxes which I handle with our country's custom. That is ridiculous!
When I contacted Iherb about it, they keep on sending me some absolute worthless answers that included "I'm sorry you were not aware of your country's tax and duty payments". Then I answered to them that yes I do know them and am completely aware, I have a problem with the courier company forcing me to pay extra to DHL so I can process my own damn package with our country's official customs myself.
I will never purchase anything from them again or DHL. Luckily, we consumers can always show our opinions with our decisions on where we buy products. Yugh what a company.
Come on guys it is obvious the site is from the USA, if you order from Europe, EU, India or most other countries not part of the USA you will be forced to pay import fees and duties before DHL will deliver, it even says this before you click proceed to order, so don't leave 1 star because you can't be asked to read the fine print before you place an order on a website from a different country. All in all I got my order quick as they said, I paid my import duties and all is well at least DHL lets you pay at the door, if it was normal post you would be fighting it up at the local government office to pay your invoice before delivery.
Read the print before you order and don't blame the company because you can't read terms of service on shipping.

To the Gal who doesn't understand DHL process on imports and gave yet another 1 star review simply because they don't understand customs and duty procedure, DHL is in charge of import fees and this is why they will not release your package until you pay the duties and taxes, you do not handle this. Please learn the law and customs process and call DHL first not iherb, so many uninformed people on import process. I just got my package today was charged 6 Euro from DHL for duties which I paid at the door no import process for the customer easy. Thanks iherb and no thanks to the hundreds of useless 1 star reviews on this post.
I ordered 4 items, totalling just over £30... Then got a text from DHL that I owed customs of £18... More than half the value of the order! When I queried with DHL they said I was within my rights to refuse the parcel if I hadn't been informed, so I did... It was returned and signed for by iherb, but I just have got refunded for the cheapest item, they said that was all was returned to their warehouse, even though all items were in the same box! Tried customer service & emails to & fro then chat where they tried to blame DHL, and still not sorted. Will never use again & don't recommend anyone else in the UK to either.
Guys be safe of such a cheaters, they are bloody cheater, you will have to end up with a big loss, or you have to pay more money than going to a local store and buy it on MRP, these people are here to cheat only, I paid them 3500/- RS for a product available here in local store at 4500/- and I have to pay them 2100/- more for customs and shipping and total is around 6500/-, when I asked my money back it was total 2800/- to be refunded. Bloody cheaters.
I was looking for vitamins and supplementation, iHerb.com popped up from somewhere, their prices where the best I found, they presented all the pricing in my country's currency, it wast stated where they ship from.
A week later I received a call from DHL saying I have a parcel at customs that needs clearance and I have to pay duties fees. The fees were not the issue the amount of documents and man hours I had to pull where the deal breaker. So I decide to return it, I tried the return form in iHerb that has two options if goods are damaged and something else, so my request for return was rejected.
I contacted iherb trough chat and after long explanation they assured me that, when they get back the goods am gonna be refunded minus shipping fees for the return.
I just talked to DHL my goods are still in customs they have rejected the return request from DHL.
It's a scam if you ask me, iherb are the worst you can get from a internet merchant, fooling you with those currency converter, not notifying you where from you are actually buying.
Worst customer service. No shipping confirmation. No email till you look for your item. They can not find any information. You get bill but nothing. They will give you money back month later if you remember to ask. Other wise nothing! Worst online shopping ever.
Placed an order, had funds withdrawn from my bank account by iherb, received confirmation of order. No shipping confirmation for two weeks. Contact customer service to find they have no record of receiving payment on their end and that my order was cancelled. I send them my proof of purchase and they deleted it in their response saying the same thing over and over again. This site is a completely organised criminal organisation who actively seek to steal money from anyone dumb enough to use them. I regret it completely. STAY AWAY FROM IHERB, THEY WILL SCREW YOU!

Unexpectedly, I had to pay 10% duty and 20% tax to DHL before delivery. Although apparently seem to be cheap in iHerb but in the final result is very expensive and better way is to buy from another distributor in the UK.

Why are you not showing one shot price like healthkart, Flipkart or Amazon, As I want to purchase ON 100% Whey isolate its price is showing Rs. 4512, Now comes the twist in the tail,
1. Adding Rs. 997 as delivery charges from DHL.
2. Adding GST@ 28% on Rs 5284, SO now the price will be Rs. 6764.
3. Adding import duty 30% on Rs 4512, which is Rs. 1353
4. So in the end I Herb is selling, On 100% Whey isolate for Rs. Rs. 8117...
In Indian Market from any authenticated shop if we want to buy this supplement we will get it from around Rs. 6200 to 6500...
Both times I ordered from iherb I was lied to about when it was shipped. Then the 2 day shipping turned into 5 day shipping. One time I tried cancelling an order I just placed 2 minutes earlier because I ordered the wrong Turmeric from 1 company, they sold 3 different kinds. Iherb said "tough luck", we already shipped it"? Really? In 2 minutes? And you can't even talk to a real person. What else are they hiding? Buyer beware and sorrowful customer service when you can't pick up the phone and talk to a person! Bad business practice.
I had ordered a product (NeilMed) on iherb and the order ID is *******-0, i had paid the entire amount (3,245.51)through my debit card. I have paid in excess including transport, duty etc etc...
Now my parcel has arrived and the courier person is demanding more money to deliver the package. I feel cheated.
Iherb customer service people are extremely arrogant and rude and they say that the money that I had paid will be adjusted with the products to and fro transport if I return it without paying whatever they are demanding.

When you choose DHL shipment option you pay once and then when your order come to Poland you get additional invoice to pay, just 1 day before DHL knocking to your door with product. Surprise! I don't recommend DHL for this reason.
Over the past 2,2 1/2 years I've placed 10 orders in iherb.com. Even though there had been some minor issues (products spilled during transit) the customer service was always very helpful and refunded me immediately for the damaged products.
One of the things I love most about iherb.com are their (most of the time) reasonable international shipping rates. I've never had any problems with delivery either, in some cases my package arrived even earlier than estimated.
Therefore, I was really surprised to read all the negative feedback on this site. From some of the reviews I gather that there were problems with having to pay import duties and taxes. To that, I just want to add: If you order from outside your country (be it from iherb.com or from anybody else), you always have to expect to pay import duties and taxes. Since every Country has different regulations for this, it's impossible for iherb.com to do anything else than to state you might have to pay those when your order is delivered (which is mentioned in your cart).
Why was my account closed? Was it my complaint that my order came damaged and useless. Even after I sent photos the the broken glass bottle the wet shipping box container. All I wanted was my Magnesium Chloride. They gave me a refund. I went back to reorder the Magnesium Chloride and was told that my account had been terminated. Why because my shipment came destroyed and I complained. I am battling cancer and need that Magnesium Chloride to self administer a vitamin C IV. After contacting the customer "Chat" service. I was told to contact customer support. Customer support told me to contact customer service. Are you getting the picture. I explained my situation to the "Chat" agent. All I got was "I will follow up and place an email to the proper department. This has been going on now for 3 months. I told the "Chat" agent. That I felt soooo much better now. I also told her that I wanted each and everyone at that company to find themselves in the exact same situation I found my self in. Only to find no help no customer service no customer support and NO MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE. JUST GO AWAY AND DIE!
I ordered my purchase in good faith and paid the postage and packing. It was delivered 10 minutes ago an I was told I had to pay £16 import tax on it.
Nowhere at all did it say when offering that this is the case. This is an underhanded tactic and a disgrace. My advice to anyone is AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
Ordered products June 19th from the United States to Denmark. It was said that the delivery would take place between 29 June and 5 July. Today it is June 12th. DHL does not have the package and IHERB says I expect 6 weeks delivery time-where does this stand when buying the products? Never experienced a worse service.
And I am very glad I did it. I ordered 1 1/2 weeks ago from Israel and my 2 kg package arrived to my house this morning!
That is fast... super fast! Especially for this country. More than that, the price was excellent in comparison to how much these products cost here and if I try to order from ebay amazon for some product from the States they always ask for a lottt of extra money for shipping so I dont even bother to order,
Even more so... one of the products... wheatgrass from Pines (when I inquired thru their European distributor for shipping costs) I was in shock... so the conclusion is that I took the chance and ordered thru iHerb and Im extremelyyyyyy satisfied. Great DHL express service and very fareee prices after doing extreme research over the net!

Answer: Yes you will be charged extra, they dont make it clear when you place an order, but I was asked to pay an extra £15 sterling before they would deliver my goods to my home, so I refused and am waiting a refund of my order which they now tell me will take up to 6 months, not a good company to deal with, buy from home if I were you, I will not purchase from america again.
