I attempted the self verification multiple times with multiple clear pics of the documentation required. I would get through the entire process only to be told I was unable to be verified. After these attempts, I went the other route to speak with an agent. It literally took one minute for him to take a screen shot of my documents (which I'm sure was no better than what I had taken) to be "verified." Skip the self verification to save yourself time and annoyance!
Really poor interface. Does not tell you when something is not up to their "standards', you have to figure it out. No optional ways of submitting information, even though it says "I don't have a smart phone" it still requires that you be confirmed by telephone and link to browser. Really frustrating!

It was fast and easy! And the customer service was great.
Needed a little patience, had to keep showing the same documents atleast 5 times, and the process of the facial scan was a bit off, or was just my phone
Creating an account was quick and easy which wasn't what I expected. I started on their web site and completed on my iPhone. Was guided step by step through the process and it was simple to take a picture of my drivers license and upload. Then you take a selfie scan and the screen turns green when the scan was complete. Very simple.
I do not own a mobile phone. I am severely hearing-impaired. Even the government does not comply with Americans with Disabilities Act. It requires an alternate way to communicate. Must have also missed the law which requires everyone to have a mobile phone. I also do not have photos back and front of ID, documents. The video selfie on computer is also a nightmare. There's no way to know what's expected and what it's supposed to look like. I suppose if I were completely deaf they would have offered a sign language interpreter. No one comes and teaches you sign language when you become severely hearing-impaired. You have to have someone to practice with to learn it. Complete and utter failure (again, as always) by our government.

My experience was quick, easy, and professional. I enjoyed the video chat and it was easy and quick. My helper was very nice which was very awesome. Was my first time using ID and it was a great experience.
There were a few snafus along the way. Pro-tip: when they say "save-and-exit" while you're waiting for a video interview, do it. Assuming you do end up with a video interview, be assured, the agent is as professional and helpful as they come. In the end you get the ID. And they do seem to be very serious about security and authentication.
