Avira vpn servers are mostly good except free version has no residential servers so you will be blocked if site detects a proxy (most do). Button under avira is slow to activate and not reliable so hard to change proxies. One proxy tried to fake dns lookup, might have been a man in the middle attack trying to direct me to the wrong page.

I have used the home edition (freeware) for years as have many companies... this is one awesome virus/spyware/worm/trojan/malware program. With daily virus profile updates free and everything else, it is just too good. And, if you click on something and there is something there, it will not let it into your computer and a little popup window/warning wants to know if you want to let it in, quarantine or delete it. Absolutely the best thing going.

Professionals who write qualityprograms. VPN is good better than all the other free ones. AV program is too intrusive too many bells and whistles but generally works. Not sure their privacy policy? Their VPN does not play well with Opera. Opera first tries to dns the regular way and gets an error until avira connects which takes maybe 20-30 secs. Too long. My isp often blocks connections to their vpn rendering it useless. Takes too long to connect to their servers and even list them. Downgrading one star due to this.

Its has good security but it lacks with malware blocking and a bit of expensive related to its competition.
