Other than a bit of a wait to speak with the agent via video, the process was easy. The preliminary tasks were very simple to understand and achieve. The instructions were clear, Gather the documents, upload them to the site, and wait for the video call to begin. BTW, during the wait time, I simply saved my information and went about making my supper, washed the dishes, etc. so I could jump back in as soon as the agent was available. My agent was super nice and helpful!
I only needed to confirm my earnings for 2006 because the Social Security Administration required it, and placed a timeline on confirmation of the amount. Apparently, the portal doesn't maintain in the archive back to 2006; therefore, I couldn't get the information. And, the site gave me no directions or alternative to retrieve it. However, I called the IRS directly and was unable to reach anyone to receive help.
The overall process takes a long time, but it's much better than having to travel to visit with agents in person, and still need to spend lots of time.

There were 2 sites I could sign in on. I chose the first one and nothing went right. I couldn't upload my id, because my Parkinson's makes me shake. My son instructed me on using a prop for my son, but then it wouldn't verify. I gave up, said I would go to the SS office. Kept putting it off, but finally checked id.me, and easy peasy! I loved being id verified by a person! Took time, but great experience.
