I originally enrolled with ID.me when I had to file for unemployment benefits in August of 2021. I had all the proper documentation on hand when I started which made the initial process days faster. Overall I completed it all in one day including the video phone call to validate it was me with an ID.me employee. I love that my state government uses it and I work in the mortgage business that now has 60% fewer employees due to increased interest rates but I was fortunately able to easily apply for unemployment again in August of 2022 because of my ID.me existing account which made the process much faster because I was already verified through ID.me. The Motor vehicle division of my state also uses ID.me so updating my account with them was a few minute process.
Today I was able to create a new account with the IRS using my already verified ID.me account which saved at least 2-5 days versus having to start over with a new ID.me account and the only thing updated was a new video verification of my face to confirm it was actually me.
The security is multi factored and I think that is a great feature. I can see this benefit continuing when I access any new site that requires ID.me validation.

Nothing verified actually goes to irs. Instead id.me has my personal information and the irs withholds my tax return because they couldn't verify I am me.

This was a complicated process. The functionality of the website was ok. However, it didn't work and i had to do a video chat. 9 MORE WEEKS?!?! IVE BEEN CHECKING MY BALANCE EVERYDAY. THEN FIND OUT THERE'S A LETTER IN THE MAIL I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WAS THERE. SO WHAT WILL WE DO NOW? MOST LIKELY BE EVICTED. WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

So many times it reject valid documents without reason. Once it said documentation was expired but I submitted benefits showing from this year. Also, it can't differentiate from places where first name may be shown as "Steve" instead of "Stephen" so will reject people but NOT tell them why. Too man issues having AI control something so important and then I kept getting deflected to the government line each time I called Cox Communications about issues with the ID.me verification and results, even though I am currently enrolled for this year with same benefits and just got a new authorization/enrollment ID from the gov't. A month ago for Lifeline (ID starting with a "Q" instead of "B", but gov't. Line says Cox should still be able to use that to see I qualify) instead of resubmitting documents again one month later. Cox doesn't even have a place for us to enter our gov't. Enrollment ID even if we have gotten a new on, but just forces us to go thru constant verification via ID.me only to get either get rejected or messages saying I'm authorized, but making it clear what that means and still not showing up as renewed. I am good with computers and know the ropes but I can't keep getting passed back and forth like a hot potato between the provider and government line or told to go back to ID.me. The system is not ready for prime time -- at least not yet anyway.
They froze my unemployment account because apparently I need to verify my identity. I answered everything correctly but apparently they're telling me that my phone number is not correct which is b*******. I've had this phone number going on two years now the last number I had was from at least 4 to 5 years ago. So I don't know what the f*** their problem is, but there's been people are ready who account has been suspended due to this b******* company. They don't have a number to contact, and their representatives take hours to even respond. They don't help you with s***, all they do is send you bul$#*! links to their website. Useless company, and they're about to make a whole bunch of people either be homeless or struggling really bad because there's a lot of us depending on if it has a lot of us feeding our kids with this while we're trying to look for work. So next time you want to go around suspending people's unemployment you better make sure to stupid $#*! company works. Y'all are so full of s*** this company was started by a scammer and unfortunately got this far. This company is a scam I don't care what nobody says that's why they're trying to delete reviews. They're so f****** stupid they don't even know what the hell they're doing. They have nobody working there that's why the wait times are so damn long. They're just screwing with us typical b******* company

I had a pretty good experience wasn't really much talking. Don't know what the next step is, but it was a good virtual. I'm not going to sit here and lie. It was not that much talking.
I have already contacted news organizations as well as the BBB. This company has caused frustration, mental anguish, nightmares. When you are forced to your knees to use a company to verify your identity and the service is faulty. There is nowhere to turn. I see that others have posted screenshots so I won't post the more than 50 that I've collected in a week. The ceo is a bunch of babble and fingerpointing. We can't verify because of YOU, sir. We are not Russian fraudsters. The unemployment department for Colorado is an apparent partner in crime. They let millions fall through the cracks and now WE are being punished. Would someone please take notice and help us?! All of this because my phone number is flagged as suspicious. My phone number... again- a cell i've had for over a year... the same cell that they have sent me countless codes to log in. The same cell the employment office has on file. I am not excited about being unemployed. This is new to me. I am not milking the system. I just need to make sure I can pay the rent as I continue to seek employment.

I have to use another government program to get cleared to log into my VA account. Other programs say your information is not correct. With ID.me I fill in what they ask for and get cleared.
