Many customers commend the prompt and effective customer service, highlighting the team's responsiveness in resolving issues related to cash back discrepancies. However, recurring concerns include frustrations over payout limits, inaccuracies in rebate credits, and a perceived lack of variety in eligible products, particularly for budget-conscious shoppers. Overall, while the app is valued for its savings, improvements in product offerings and payout reliability could enhance customer satisfaction further.

If you have not tried this "rebate" site you are missing out! From August 2016 to date (11/29/17) I have "earned" $414.00, doing nothing more than purchasing items that I would have purchased regardless then scanning my store receipt and item (s) purchased bar code (s). I was able to earn this amount due to ibotta's vast selection of stores and product rebates. The money will stay in your account until you earn $20.00, at this time you can opt to cash out or wait. If you cash out, you have your choice of an account transfer or a variety of gift cards! The only thing it will cost you is a little of your time :)
Ibotta app is such a waste of time! Most of the times app functionalities doesn't work, ex: i was unable to withdraw cash, never received rebates for Uber rides, had taken 10-12 rides, never got a rebate! When i contacted support team, they closed the ticket forcibly and mentioned they will investigate and get back! Its been a month, i am not bothered contacting them anymore!
Ibotta smartly collects personal info, which they sell to 3rd parties, ex: whats ur annual income, do u own a house, whats ur ethinicity, how many kids in your household, these are never related to any rebates but just personal data that they can sell! Never share these details, avoid rebates when asked these questions or choose a wrong option!
There is always spike in automated calls/spam emails after registering with ibotta, thats bcos ibotta has traded personal info with these!
###updates###
Ibotta has introduced new policy to authenticate with mobile no! This is complete non-sense. Ibotta wants customer phone no and hold on to earnings which ppl cannot withdraw! Never ever give your phone, as it will lead to spurge in spam calls. Ibotta has blocked my earning bcos i didnt provide my phone no. Just to prove Ibotta sells user info, i update my name purposely, changed to ex: "abc", next day i had 20 emails on email id registered on ibotta with "Hi abc". This not only proves ibotta shares personal data but can misuse it in any way!
U can try it urself, ibotta will never delete ur email once u register with them, even if u wish to delete ibotta account permenantly. So atleast avoid sharing phone no! Hope this help!

While I've gotten almost all of the small cents or dollar rebates, I recently made a large qvc purchase when they were offering a 20% rebate plus a $5 QVC bonus. Conveniently, their app crashed while I was checking out but the purchase did go thru QVC. A couple of days later I contacted them and asked them to investigate and included the email receipt from QVC. Since then I have gotten nothing but a runaround from them and emails thanking me for my patience. Today I am done being patient. 3 weeks later they only blame it on QVC and it looks like I'm never getting my money. Next stop is BBB website.
It's a great company and easy to receive money, as long as everything goes smoothly. As soon as something goes wrong, or you don't get a rebate or bonus the customer service team does not help or respond to any emails. They also don't have any other way of contacting them. All in all it's really not worth it.
Don't bother. I have been using the app for 6 months, and only saved 20 dollars. Most of the rebate items are things that the store doesn't carry or beer and alcohol which grocery stores don't sell in my state.
Hands down worst customer service.
I had an issue with receiving the funds I had earned from Ibotta. It was about $45. Once I got to the point when I was ready to withdraw the funds and connect my Ibotta account to my Paypal account all of the horrible things that I read (on all of the sites that AREN'T GETTING PAID BY IBOTTA TO SPEAK GOOD ON THEM) seemed to foretell my horrible experience with their customer service department.
First, in order to ensure I didn't get locked out of my account I reached out to Ibotta. (The app was asking me to verify my number and since I didn't remember ever linking a phone number and had just changed my work and home number I reached out to customer service for assistance.) It took about a month before they finally fixed this issue. During that month I repeatedly asked to speak to a manager or a supervisor. They never allowed for this to happen. I honestly think that the only reason (that part of) the Ibotta issue was solved in that month's span is because I went to the BBB and filed a complaint.
After them finally verifying my telephone number you would think I would have been able to connect the two accounts (Ibotta to Paypal). Nope. I kept getting an error message on my mobile device stating that my Ibotta password was false. How could it have been false when I had to log into the app to be able to even attempt to link the accounts? They finally said (YESTERDAY after another few days of waiting on their response) that they will link my accounts manually.
The idea of the app is cool but don't ever have to need their "customer service". They are very mal-mannered (never once apologizing for the inconvenience) and they also aren't the smartest. You'll be in for a ride. I've never seen anything like it. Because of the fact I've been going back and forth with them for an entire month (30 days) in order for me to get my issue resolved it's like I worked double time for the $45. It made it not worth it and I'll be deleting the app.
I was saving so much money and honestly didn't have a problem until the last update. Customer service is AWFUL. You get very generic replies and it takes up to 4 days to even get one of those. I run in To problems when I buy more than one of the same product. It says you can get up to 3 but if you buy more than one you won't get credit. Then you have to jump through hoops for weeks and half the time still do not receive all your credit. The sad thing is that when I scan my receipts it shows the proper credit but when they credit my account it is wrong because they do not credit for the multiple items. I have also had my account locked so now I just go ahead and transfer after 20 or 30 dollars accumulates. I am fighting right now to get a lost more than 10 dollars so I am done with Ibotta. It has turned in to such a rip off. Ill go back to coupons.
I've been using iBotta for several months now and thought I'd cash out some of my earnings yesterday. Since I've been a member, I've earned nearly $500. I've never had any issues entering rebates, scanning receipts, etc. When I tried to Venmo myself the cash, I received a message that my account was locked out and I should contact support. I have an iPhone and when I clicked the button, it verified my identity through the thumbprint reader, so I just assumed I needed to redo it or enter the password manually, but it didn't work. I sent a message to support since I wasn't still able to earn rebates, surf the app, but just not redeem. I received a canned response that my account had been deactivated for violating their policies. I had no idea what they were talking about as the e-mail was a form letter and very vague, stating that it could be from multiple accounts on the same device, reuse of receipts, etc., but since I didn't think any of those applied to me, I responded and asked for an example of when I violated the policy. I received a response that an item was returned and I received credit and that I submitted the same receipt for rebates that already received credit. I did return two pair of jeans to Kohls that I received credit for (which I told them and there was no way of undoing a rebate once it was submitted), but I NEVER NEVER NEVER reused any receipts for multiple rebates. I responded and let them know I had never done that and asked for a specific example. I received the following response: "At this time, we are choosing to end further communication about this issue." Sooooo... they kept my $498 bucks I earned honestly and closed my account permanently so I can't view anything or do anything about it. As soon as it happened, I googled "Ibotta complaints" and this seems to be a common practice by this company. There has to be something we can do. They're basically using us to buy items, gain money from advertising, and then take the money we've earned by helping them.
I can earn money by this app and it works great.
I recommend you to login this app with my referral code and enjoy 10$!
Referral code is: hvkjknp
Almost to $25. Said I committed fraud. Seriously?! For $25 I committed fraud?! They are committing fraud left and right from all the money they steal from people!
They closed my account without any warning for apparently submitting too many receipts, and when I asked for the contact number to speak to a manager, they discontinued communication. I had $75 in my account, and they will not give it to me even though I have copies of all of my receipts. I even offered to show my bank statements!
They are fraud cheating to people. Without any notice they close your account and when you big amount money they give you any reason. They keep you money. We just wasting the money and time. Be careful from these kind compeny. Totly fraud fraud.
To the lone 4 star review... Did you work for ibotta? How do you feel about it now? They are terrible. They have thousands of complaints actively per their Director of Customer Support. This is apparently the consumers problem not his, though. Your rebates will disappear right after you buy a product and then you will have to prove it was active. Good luck. I quit that site awhile ago. Grocery stores have better reliability and know how to fix a problem. They don't blame the customer for the store's errors. Move along, Ibotta's days of glory have left with your money in their pockets.
Be careful with this App. I follow their rules and I had made over $643.00 by redeming my cash rewards and most from referring people. I had referred around 50 to 55 people and made so much in referrals that Ibotta didn't want to pay me some of my money. I was cashing every $100.00 so I get to cash $500 in total but my last $143 they refused to pay since they are cheater and don't want to pay the fair amount. I received an email saying "your account has been deactivated" for really no reason! Be aware. If you have money there cash out asap don't try to save up by jabing your money with them. Cash out soon. They are not truthful company. I will try to report them with BBB. They can't get away with this. I spend so many of my time explaining people and trying to sign them up and in the end they kept my earnings!
App has variety of ways of saving extra money if you are on the budget, if you are savvy. Quickly refunds you. Offers bonuses, team working with errands is definitely a must for extra rewards.
I have used Ibotta for over 2 yrs now. I have made just over $400 in lifetime earnings. I loved using this app. It was like a blessing to my family to make money back on stuff I'm gonna buy anyway... Well the other day I get an email about a tampered receipt then another one shortly after that my account has been deactivitated. I emailed them and just got emailed back today that they have reviewed my case and they are permanently closing my account. I messaged them back saying I'm sorry if I violated any terms and I'm sure it won't happen again. I get another email shortly after saying they're firm on their decision. Wth?! I have $68 on there that I just don't get now? I earned that by purchasing items and they basically just get away with stealing what people earn whenever they feel like it. I have not recieved a response after that email but I basically said that it's one thing to deactivate an account but it's quite another for them to steal from people! IDC it's a rebate I earned for purchases I've made. I can't believe that they can get away with this!
Sam Club, do not sell Hard Liquor that for sure!
Their website claim you can get discount for them.
Photos showing you can get " ibotta "scoring" your rebates!
That is a Fraud and lying!
I have travel many stores included Sam Club,
That one of my area for doing my part time work.
I was going to sign up this App.
But good thing I find out now,
That is Fraud to the Consumers period.
I attempted to use it on a particular product that required two products together to get the rebate (they call it a combo rebate). One item required a particular brand bottle of liquor, and to get the rebate, you also had to also buy a 2 liter bottle of "any" Soda.
I did so, but when I got home, I tried to scan the bar code on the Soda (a generic brand), and Ibotta would not take it. It did accept the liquor. I emailed Ibotta, and after I sent them the necessary information via email, they did approve the rebate. But that was time wasted.
Yesterday I found the same rebate in Ibotta on my phone. This time I decided to check that Ibotta would accept the product bar codes while I was still in the store. But when I scanned in the same liquor that was accepted by Ibotta before for the same rebate, IT REJECTED THE LIQUOR bar code this time. The app said it wasn't the right product.
Ibotta obviously has a quality problem. I've written them to explain the latest problem, and told them I would suspend using the app until the could tell me they have fixed their quality process.
It could be a good product if it didn't have these issues.
I have had emails go unanswered, one for a full year before I got an answer, even though I was emailing regularly about it.
My worst experience was when they wouldn't pay me $1 for taking Uber, even though I followed their rules. I had been getting rebates for it all along and this particular one was the last day they were offering a $5 bonus. I took the extra ride because I knew it would get me $6. Yet they refused to pay me, saying I didn't go through their app. This wasn't true. I obviously knew how to do it, as I had been doing this bonus regularly. Now when I complain about it, they simply ignore my email.
I regularly have to email many times and resend receipts that their app clearly shows they already have. I have even been denied credit because they couldn't find the item on the receipt when I was buying only one item. This has happened over a dozen times. Each time, I am required to keep on submitting the receipt, sometimes until the receipt is so old, it can no longer be read.
Answer: Absolutely so true! I earned up just over $100 and when I went to cash out they said I was fraudulent YET I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT and all submissions were valid. It took me months to get to this amount. Hmmmmm Class action anyone?
Answer: Because they deny certain purchases due to cost! It's become a scam!
Answer: I tried to withdraw money for the first time and it said my account was locked because of multiple attempts which was not true.! I sent 5 requests for help in a week and they finally responded by deactivating my account and keeping the 360.00 that took me months to accumulate. They claim I tampered with a date on a receipt and I just crossed off the account number. So they can keep my money that is mine. How can I get my money back?
Answer: Sorry Jenna bit it seems like you're kinda late for that rebate a few years actually. I'm pretty sure that ibotta have 100% absolutely forgot about you and by not I'm sure you forgot about too. :)
Answer: Go to your $amount and cash out and it will say bank or gift card.
Answer: Why don't any product receipts add extra bonus for us?
Answer: You have to email the morons that run their customer support at least 3 times before you'll get the proper amount credited to your account.
