I was travelling and not having my own place for almost a year. Not buying groceries, I didn't use ibotta for a little bit. When I logged back in, they had drained my account to fees. Customer support wasn't the least bit helpful. I'm so glad I wasted so much time scanning receipts. It's great.

When I first got the app there were so many rebates on products I always buy and in a matter of two or three months I had earned $80. Easy to cash out for starbucks, Walmart and other gift cards or get the money. I had no problem with that. But after the initial three months all the products I was buying and getting good rebates on all disappeared. Now 6 months on Im only earning 25c or a little more on $200 grocery receipts. I think they pull you in somehow using your shopping habits then drop those products once they have you hooked. I cant be bothered anymore.
So far, the problems I had with the app were resolved with customer support. Slow to respond at time, but responsive, overall.

I accumulated $45 in cashback, and they decided to deactivate/ban me so I can't request a payout. Look around, this happens to tons of people. Don't waste your time with this site.
I tried using iBotta for a while, but I wasn't really using it, so I cannot attest to the problems other people have had with the application. However, I wasn't able to delete my account as per their instructions, and there was no internet guide to doing so.
I finally found out how to delete my account (hopefully):
1) Submit a request, as per their own instructions on deleting an account (you can find the link there).
2) Choose "General Account Issues"
3) Choose "Cancel account request"
4) Fill in the other request bars.
5) Hope for the best, like I am right now.
This app started out okay but now they will find any reason to not issue a rebate, especially the "any" items like "any brand of coffee." Now I'm getting messages 3-4 days after I upload a receipt which say they "couldn't find total" or "date of receipt couldn't be found" and they have to know full well that the receipt has already been thrown away! Customer service is virtually non-existent and the app is complete rip off!
Like everyone says they always have an excuse not to rebate you and keep your money. Scam app stay away waste of time I use kicks and ebates much easier
I downloaded this app not sure how it was going to work, but I tried it anyway. I got normal everyday grocery items and I went out of my way to get certain items they had rebates on. Those certain items being ones id only use coupons for etc. I ended up getting about $30 from the rebates that were offerd, I decided to try to redeem that to make sure it was legit. It told me my account was locked, I contacted the care team like instructed, they then told me my account has been permanently deactivated due to having multiple accounts on multiple devices. Which is not true. My advice would be to not waist your time with this app, and print out coupons as needed.
The site will not let you unsubscribe full from their emails. Going to contact my attorney to sue the company for their continuous emails even after unsubscribing once prior.

They deactivated me saying I violated their terms of service. I didn't get the credit I was supposed to so I submitted the receipt again. I wrote them asking them about it at the time and they didn't respond. I was asking questions and trying to figure the app out. I didn't know I was in violation. Customer service wouldn't do anything for me. Eventually they just kept sending the same message. They then blocked everyone in my house.
I have been emailing Ibotta customer service since Oct 2017 because I can't withdraw funds from my account due to my cell phone number got deactivated and do not have a working phone. I have emailed them at least 20/30 emails and they say that the only way you can withdraw funds is through the app, but the app does not let me log in. Everytime, i login to app it keeps giving me error "OOPS... Forbidden". I have the most updated app and the operating system. I tried downloading app on galaxy S6, HTC U11, samsung note 3 etc, but the app does not let me log in... it seems like they have BLOCKED my account. Their customer service is so worst that they do NOT understand my problem. Not sure where to go and who else to complain. I do not like to bring the issues to the internet, but this is ridiculous and it is so frustrating since the emails are going back and forth between me and ibotta since Oct 2017. I even asked them to send me the check of my earnings and they say NO. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHEATER COMPANY to anyone.
This app just wasted your time trying to look for offers. Can't cash in anything until you reach $20.00. No longer offered on the App Store. Deleted.

Ibotta now owes us a total of over $60.00. I should not have even informed anyone of this App, because lately it has been a waste of time, and people are upset with me because I look like I've lied.
My Account, My Mothers Account, And NOW my Brother's account, all got locked from cashing out.
We are using all 100% real receipts,
We are all using our own Mobile Devices,
And we have all wasted our time and money, only to get shut down.
This is now a more serious matter, because now I know I'm not the only one they've done this to, and I refuse to let my money be taken from us.
I've sent over 10 Emails, trying to cash out.
This App is a scam.
And my comments and bad ratings will increase. My Friends are all currently deleting their Account.

I have been using ibotta for over a year everything was great. I emailed the about a rebate I did not get credit for which was linked to my food lion MVP card. The following week I got a email that my account was deactivated because of fraud. How do I fraud when my MVP card is linked to it. So the money that I had accumulated is gone. They get to keep it, and customer service is horrible. I found receipt hog is the best app out there
I had used the app for several weeks and accumulated 107$ in cash back, including some referral bonuses. I had uploaded my receipts and had scanned all the bar codes properly. The app had said that all my purchases and bonuses had been verified.
I verified my account and set up the withdrawal process through my PayPal.
Now, Ibotta has locked me out of my account and is not allowing me to withdraw my money.
If I had been the first person to make a complaint, I could believe this was a one-off technical incident. Instead, it seems like this is an unethical tactic that the company typically uses to prevent people from getting the money they have earned.
The company has not responded to my emails, and hopefully this will get their attention.

Answer: Absolutely so true! I earned up just over $100 and when I went to cash out they said I was fraudulent YET I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT and all submissions were valid. It took me months to get to this amount. Hmmmmm Class action anyone?
